As of Monday night, there is one Democrat still locked
into the Texas House Chamber because she refused to sign
her permission slip. The Texas lawmaker was planted on the
Texas House floor after refusing to sign a GOP mandated
forum requiring Department of Public Safety escorts or police for
Democrats who broke quorum over redistricting. State Representative Nicole Collier
(02:24):
of Fort Worth was sitting among her colleagues empty chairs
after being prevented from leaving the House due to her
refusal to sign the law enforcement officers to accompany her
out of the chamber. In a Monday night interview with
NBC News, Representative Collier said, in my heart, I don't
feel compelled to sign it.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
I'll just sit here. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (02:42):
I guess I'll wait till Wednesday. President Trump announced on
his social media platform Monday that he plans to lead
a movement to eliminate mail in ballots and voting machines,
claiming they cause voter fraud. He argued that traditional paper
ballots with watermarks are cheaper, faster, and more reliable. President
said he'll start by signing an executive order ahead of

Listen, guys, if you've ever seen a mama running through
the airport that has a baby, she got a stroller,
she got the backpack, she got the baby. She got
all the things, and she's trying to get to the gate,
and she's not going as fast as she could. Why
because she's carrying so much weight. Here's what makes me
a little upset. If there's a husband nearby or a
child nearby, and nobody says, oh, let me take the
(06:56):
food bag, or let me take the backpack, or let
me push the stroller so they could help. But also
the mother, I'm always trying to figure out, why aren't
you spreading it out. Why aren't you saying, hey, you
carry this and I'll carry the baby. You don't have
to carry the weight all by yourself. It's making it
harder for you to move, and it's frustrating. And then
(07:17):
sometimes if you like me, while I'm carrying it, I'm
trying to figure why nobody asks. But if nobody asks,
why don't you open your mouth and say, hey, somebody
carry this. I can't do this by myself. Y'all know
that phrase. It's not a sin, right, I can't do
this by myself. You know that's okay to say in
the Bible, I can't do this by myself. And God
never asked you to not spiritually or naturally, so learn
(07:39):
to ask for the help that you need. My suggestion
for you today is that you run light. You know,
the scripture tells us to lay aside every weight and
sin which so easily besets us, clings to us, stops us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is
set before us. We're all on our own journey in life,
and sometimes we're carrying unnecessary things, and sometimes it makes
(08:00):
us feel more powerful because we're carrying things. Oh you know,
I got this, this, I don't need nobody, I got me.
Huh is that really a flaws? Is that really a
I don't know not. When you have people around you
that are willing to help or that can help that
maybe you need to ask help. Maybe they're so used
to you doing everything they don't think you even want
the help. Let's learn to run a little bit lighter.
(08:23):
Let's let's learn to release some things in the hands
of other people that actually want to help you.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
It happens in ministry all the time. Well, they not
gonna handle it right.
Speaker 7 (08:32):
So if one person would a cap one trying to
be superman, a superwoman doing everything, when you can literally
share the weight, share the load so you can work
more effectively.
Speaker 6 (08:41):
Learning to.
Speaker 7 (08:43):
Disseminate work to different people. I mean learning to relinquish control.
That is a gift of the spirit, learning to allow
other people to do things. We see this in Scripture
with Moses, when Moses was trying to talk to all
the people, and his father in law said, you're gonna
kill yourself if you don't get somebody else in here
to counsel all the these hundreds of thousands of people.
You can't cancel everybody in one day. You don't have
(09:04):
to do everything in one day. Okay, lay some of
those weights for tomorrow, some of those you put on Friday.
I can't do this all today. Do what you can
do today realistically, while keeping your sanity, while keeping your peace,
while making sure that you are healthy. All right, You
don't have to do it all by yourself. Lay aside
those weights. Good people, all right, guys, that is the

How you doing doing good?
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Doing good?
Speaker 7 (16:23):
Ready for this news? So tell us. After returning to
the Texas State House, one Democrat lawmaker is still on
the house floor. Tell us more about it.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
So we had changed things up last night. This happened
after we put everything to bed. But you mentioned Erica representatives.
Democratic representatives returned to the state capitol of Boston Monday
after the dispute of the registricting map plan to add
more congressional seats for Republicans. Democratic state representatives were required
to sign a GOP mandated form requiring Department of Publicacy
(16:58):
or police escorts for Democrats who broke the quorum over
the redistrict thing to make sure they would show up
for work this week. Well, African American the representative Nicole
Kllier Force refused to sign the so called permission slip
and dush could not leave the floor, and as we
know it this morning, she's still on the floor refusing
(17:20):
to sign the permissions and dust cannot leave the floor.
People are up in arms about this and then calling
the the state leaders and what have you. But she
is standing tough or sitting tough and standing call in
this the ridiculous, she calls ridiculous efforts to keep the
(17:41):
Democrats back work. So we'll keep you up to date
on that.
Speaker 6 (17:45):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (17:45):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (17:46):
So President Trump says he will lead the quote unquote
movement to end mail in ballots and voting.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Loans despite what his staff and all of the Republicans
are telling him. He does not believe in the power
of the mail in ballots, and he said Monday that
he will in his social media posts that believe a
movement to get rid of the mail in ballots and
voting machines on top of that saying without proving evidence
(18:15):
that they lead to voter frauds. So people are saying
this is ridiculous, obviously, and they believe that mail in
ballots really helped him in the last election in twenty
twenty four. But he refuses to believe and is holding
fourth on all of these who's regarding mail in ballots
as well as the machines and we'll see what happens
(18:37):
with this, but even if he does sign the executive
order later on this year, it's likely to head to
the court.
Speaker 7 (18:45):
In your good News story, you shared that Venus Williams
is being honored with her own Barbie doll. We want
to hear more about that.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
How great is this? The seventh time Grand Plan champion
Vick Williams is the newest Barbie in the Inspiring Win
line honoring legends who changed the game and listed the
culture while doing so. And she did, she and her
sister Arena, but definitely Venus was among those who were
leading to the charge for women to be paid equal
(19:15):
to men in the professional tennis circuit, you know, following
in the lead of Billy and King and others. And
so she really does warrant and merit asolute her full legacy.
And so we are happy to talk about that in
the good News story.
Speaker 8 (19:31):
That is so cool.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
That is so cool, all right, Sybil Wilkes.
Speaker 7 (19:34):

Thank you guys.
Speaker 6 (19:48):
Have a great day, you too.
Speaker 7 (19:50):
All right, good people, there is there the news. We
got more on the way, the Archaism and the joys
of consciens, plus great gospel music. I pray that you
hear something that could change your life, encourage your soul
and make you slide smile, because listen this world, let's
cry cry.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
God is good all the time, and all the time,
God is good.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Let's go.
Speaker 7 (20:07):
Let's get up mornings.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
If you're listening to Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell,
Real Talk, Real Dogs of the Day.
Speaker 15 (20:24):
Or Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 6 (20:27):
So listen.
Speaker 7 (20:27):
Yes, it is time for the chasm of the day.
And a few days ago I got a a d
M from a good friend of mine and uh just
to call to give me a word from the Lord
and to let me know that she was praying for me.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
And it was right on time.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
It was a good old word that let me know
what was on the way and how to prepare myself
spiritually for what was on the way. And I just
love to know that somebody that God is putting me
on somebody's mind. I the reason I love it so
much is because I'm a person that will randomly call people,
(21:04):
randomly send a message, and I always love the joy
that I hear from them because I may be texted
or send a message. Let's learn to do that more.
It's so many songs. Listen, my sister Tina Campbell released
a song called Pray for Me last night last year.
And then there's a song that I grew up in
church here and somebody prayed for me, had me on
their mind, took the time and pray for me. They
(21:25):
didn't have no doubt that God would bring me out.
I'm so glad somebody prayed for me. I want you
to know that somebody is praying for you, or you
may be the somebody that needs to pray for somebody.
And so today I want you to keep that in mind,
that we're all dealing with things and going through something,
and so you praying for somebody could be just the
thing that they need to bring them through. You praying
(21:47):
for somebody could be just the thing that stops the
hand of the enemy from making them lose it all.
So I want you to take the moment to think
about who can I pray for today? Who can I call?
Who can I send a text message? Or if you're
the one in need, I pray you get the call.
I pray someone sends you something that you need. But
even if they don't, I'm telling you right now that
you are on my mind that the Holy Spirit said
(22:10):
do a segment about praying for somebody, because somebody needs
to know that people are still praying. You are not
out here by yourself. You are not in this thing alone.
If he said he'll never leave you for nor for
sake you, he'll never leave you for nor for sake you.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
But guess what God uses people. He uses people.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
So don't ignore the call, don't say nah, don't come over.
Let them come over and sit with you and just
laugh and just be there for a moment. Get in
a different environment, change your mindset, allow the person who
wants to love on you to actually love on you.
In the meantime, I'll be praying, praying that you come through,
praying that you come out, praying that you make it over,
praying that you walk in victory, praying that you healed,
(22:47):
Praying that you have everything that you need. Even before
you get the stuff, I pray that your heart and
mind is all right, because sometimes you get the stuff
and your heart and mind still ain't right, and so
you can't feel the goodness in this thing. They're supposed
to be good. So I'm praying that your heart, heart
and mind is okay, that God encourage your soul. Today
we say joy living, But what does that mean. It
means to walk in the joy of the Lord, this
(23:08):
thing that no one can take from you, or no
one can give it to you. Because this joy that
I have, the world didn't give it and the world
can't take it away. All right. That is my erchism
for the day. I love you, and I mean it
felt more like a joy living. But I hope you
understand I'm praying for you. I really really am. I
want you to win. I want you to walk in victory.
I want you to be more than a conqueror through
Jesus Christ that loves you, and he really does. Whether
(23:30):
you're in your car, I don't know if you had
to pull over.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
What you're doing.
Speaker 7 (23:32):
You listening at work, you're listening on the app, wherever
you're listening in the world. We are praying for you

I'm telling you what you're doing this for. You're doing
(23:53):
it for souls, You're doing it for victory. You're doing
it because God love you. You're doing it because you
were called to do it. All right, Might go out

world better. It's in you.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Moving for college because we were at the Stellar Wards
and I felt a way and I felt awful.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
My daughter was like that, it's fine. He told me
three weeks ago he wasn't gonna be able to come,
so good, don't worry about we were moved here.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
Well.
Speaker 9 (25:53):
I went to go see her yesterday at Kennesaus State
and shout out to all the freshmen that are starting
college today at Kennesau State. Everybody else started yesterday. But
it's weird because at Kennesaw in Kennesau, Georgia, Praise one
O two point five goes in and out just depending,
So one minute is on get up mornings and then
(26:15):
the next is a it's a messicant station. So let
me just say, gloriadios, just in case, just in case
somebody listening right now. But to see that young lady
who used to lay on my chest and lift me
in my eye be all the way in college, man, oh,
(26:38):
I was having a I was having a real man.
Speaker 6 (26:40):
I was mushed yesterday. I was just mushed.
Speaker 9 (26:44):
Now somebody in their cars, ain't wait a minute, Jamison
is in college.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
Exactly, you get to say, ain't y all right?
Speaker 9 (26:51):
Somebody else is saying, oh, grib you a big what
for my children?
Speaker 6 (26:56):
You absolutely get to say, ain't.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
Y all right?
Speaker 6 (26:58):
But if you like me and you know no more
kids left, how about that?
Speaker 15 (27:03):
I get to say, y'll.
Speaker 10 (27:08):
Done?
Speaker 6 (27:10):
Oh last one, last one done? Done? Wow, done done?
No more done? Never I mean never done.
Speaker 9 (27:18):
But right now it's a lot of things done right
college check. No more child's aboard, chick. Uh yeah, no
more teachers bothered me? Yeah, because you know in college
that you're not even welcome to come to the school
and ask what the grades are? Right, They just uh,
either send your kid home before the summer like me
(27:39):
calling people, Ah, this is Derek can Yeah. Hey, the
dean is the dean will be waiting for you. Hold
on one second, I'd have been on that campus. So
many just said I gotta get a rand at Kennesaw State, right.
Speaker 7 (27:53):
And I'm here today, Spelman, somebody tell Christa to call me. Okay,
I'll see you on campus.
Speaker 16 (27:58):
All right?
Speaker 6 (27:58):
Almost feminine.

All right, guys, eleven minute past the top of the hour,
we'll talk to the creator of the Black App, John Laster.
Lapp is an app created exclusively for black businesses and
black consumers. I took a look at it yesterday. I
can't wait for this conversation, y'all. Don't miss it. Plus
Wake Up and Win with Doctor Willie Jolly his message today,
you were born to Win. I love that so much.
(29:42):
Music from Dietrich Hadden, Kirk Franklin and Javonte Patten. Hey
smile a little bit you right there, Yeah, smile. Here's
MICHAELA give me you on Get.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Up Morning, Get Up Morning.
Speaker 7 (29:53):
Hello, we have guess it's Black Business Month and joining
us today is comedian a creator of the Black app,
John Laster. John. Welcome to Get Up mornings.
Speaker 8 (30:04):
Heay, thank you guys for having up.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
So listen, John, you created Black to Spotlight to spotlight
black owned businesses. What was the defining moment that made
you say I have to build this app?
Speaker 16 (30:18):
You know, To be honest, I think I was out
marching during the Black Lives Matter movement and there was
some white guys who suggested, you know, I live in Brooklyn,
that we march over the bridge to Manhattan, and I
was like, that's a bit too far. But what I
will do is go home and try to make some change,
some sustainable change.
Speaker 8 (30:39):
I knew everything was going to go back to normal
for them, so we had to do something different.
Speaker 16 (30:43):
There was something that popped up in my head, the
old saying, if you knew better.
Speaker 8 (30:47):
You'd do better.
Speaker 7 (30:48):
So black isn't just about buying black, It's about building
community and generational wealth. How do you see the app
shifting the culture of consumer spending.
Speaker 16 (30:58):
I think that we could increase the black dollar circulation rate,
which you never hear talked about outside of our community,
and all of the folks who did talk about it,
to be honest with you, were either killed or jailed.
Because that's the real health of the community. Twenty eight days.
You know in the Asian community that their dollars circulates
(31:19):
twenty days in the Jewish community, seventeen days in the
White community, six days in the Latino community, just under
six hours in the Black community.
Speaker 8 (31:28):
Wow.
Speaker 16 (31:28):
So yeah, So I think if we could, if we
could get that up to at least six, ten, twelve days,
a lot of the problems that exist the black community
would go by the wayside. But you noticed that no
one ever talks about that. That is the health of
the black community. Just under six hours, twenty eight days
in the Asian community, and then look at the wealth disparities,
(31:51):
and there's your answer. But you won't hear that on
mainstream media, and it doesn't I'm not asking everyone to
start wearing.
Speaker 8 (31:57):
A dashiki to work tomorrow. We can start with something small.
Speaker 16 (32:01):
You can switch out your toilet paper, switch out your toothbrush,
switch out your soap, switch out your car, something that
you use on a daily basis to remind you to
keep switching out more things. Eve.
Speaker 9 (32:12):
First of all, John a big fan love how a
comedian is doing big things, doing comedy and doing that.
How are you getting joy by making this app for
your people and not just making people laugh.
Speaker 16 (32:27):
You know, it's probably two different sides of my brain,
you know what I mean. The laughter is you know
what the laughter is if I don't have to tell you, brother,
So that's a way of bringing joy. But I think
that the tech part of my brain is a labor
of love, you know. And I know that if we
get this right, we could actually get the car out
(32:47):
of the ditch. And you know, I'm not the first
person to say this. A lot of times they show
the turn the other cheek version of Martin Luther King. Well,
when at the end of Martin's life, Martin was actually
saying that all of the things that he had tried
had failed. If you if you google Martin Luther King
talking to Harry Belafonte on The Tonight Show. So this
(33:09):
is what you don't have to dig deep. He was saying,
at the end of his life, we need a financial
solution to these problems because the stuff that I tried
didn't work. So if Martin Luther King was alive today,
he'd be like, YO, download black and Fire, some food
and okinawa coome on.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
I love that.
Speaker 7 (33:26):
Listen. I am right now going to my store on
my phone and downloading the Black App. It's got the
one with the fists on it right, yes, yes, amen,
I'm getting it right now. One of the questions you
get is how can people invest in the app? Share
that information?
Speaker 16 (33:44):
You know what you can DM me and he was
funny or you know, blap app on Instagram. That's probably
the best way and just say that you know that
you want to invest. You do have to be more
of a credited investor because we're not, you know, a
publicly held company. So our average investors in between twenty five.
Speaker 8 (34:00):
And fifty k. But we have let people in at
ten kow. Yeah, but there's tons of folks that you
know that are still trying to get in before we
close out this round. So that's the best way.
Speaker 7 (34:12):
I love it. Thank you so much for being with
us today. John Faster, creator of the Black App, a
black smartphone app that catalogs and locates businesses across the world.
So download it today on your smartphone. John, thank you
so much for stopping by. We got to have you back.
Speaker 8 (34:28):
We have to please thank you guys so much.
Speaker 7 (34:31):
Y'all get the Black App. It's Get Up Morning.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
If you're listening to Get Up with Erica Campbo It's
time to wake up and win with doctor Willie Jolly.
Speaker 10 (34:58):
It's another great day. This is doctor Willie Jolly, and
I want to tell you something about flying high. It's
not just that the glass is half empty or half full,
but it is refillable.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
You've got to keep your.
Speaker 10 (35:10):
Mind on the fact that they're great opportunities yet for
you to find and fill. You've got power and opportunities
and possibilities within you. So you've got to have a
positive mindset, a positive outlook, a positive inlook, and a
positive uplook. You got to know that you have something special.
You were born with something special. So now take what
(35:32):
you've got and make the most of it. Use it
for the good of others and for your future and
your finances. You were born to win. Believe that you
were born to win. So every day wake up with
a mindset that my glass is neither half full nor
half empty. It is refillable and I can choose to win.
(35:54):
This is doctor Willy Jolly. Go to win with Willy
dot Com for resources to help you win more. Remember
your best. Hey, yah to come and make it a
great day. You've heard from us Now I'm I'm.
Speaker 15 (36:04):

Speaker 6 (36:26):
Four four nine five nineteen sixty three eight.
Speaker 7 (36:29):
All right, show what are we talking about today?
Speaker 6 (36:32):
All right?
Speaker 7 (36:32):
So one pivotal moment that I loved that the Stellar
Awards was when Ricky Dillard won a traditional Choir of
the Year, he celebrated another choir master, Christopher L.
Speaker 6 (36:42):
Irving, by giving him his award.
Speaker 7 (36:44):
Now, Christopher also served as a member of Ricky Dillar's
New Generation Choir, but he was nominated in the same category.
And when he won, you know what, he felt like
he wanted to pay it forward, you know, pay it
forward with somebody he had been mentoring and loved and
proud of.
Speaker 6 (37:01):
And I remember Kirk Franklin doing that for Todd.
Speaker 7 (37:04):
Tribbett as well one year and it just kind of
it just made me think about folk that we would
that I would love to, you know, pour into or
pay it forward if you will, right, people in the industry.
You know, one of the radio announcers that I love
right now, her name is m L six and she
programs the station in Birmingham. I was thinking, she's so
(37:25):
amazing and sweet and she honors the legends, like she
honors those who've paid the way for her. And I mean,
whenever we walk into if she's sitting, she'll give us
a seat.
Speaker 9 (37:35):
You know.
Speaker 6 (37:36):
She's just so attendous, sweet. Yeah yeah, and she's great
at what she does.
Speaker 7 (37:40):
She's got next, she's got now let's say that because
she's like, well, lives in LA but programs at Birmingham station.
She's over cool. Yeah yeah, yeah, she's amazed. I love that,
So I love that forward to her. I would pay
it forward to Big Red, who's been doing it for
a minute, Big Red, who really celebrates hip hop and
just the entire genre and that just a really nice guy.
(38:01):
I remember him interviewing me and Tina years ago. To
see all that he's done is really really cool. What
about you, Grip.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
I would pay it forward to Carmena Ah Barnett.
Speaker 9 (38:13):
Right yeah, Carmina, I said, love Jesus, she loves radio.
Speaker 6 (38:18):
And she loves people in that order, and I just
think she's awesome. Right, it was a comedian, who would
you pay it forward to?
Speaker 7 (38:26):
Or for an artist? For both of you, guys, who
would you?
Speaker 6 (38:29):
I'll go first?
Speaker 7 (38:30):
I would say Lena Bird Miles, Oh for sure, such
a good heart, such an amazing talent, and she's gonna
she's gonna blow people's minds. We know her voice, but
y'all gonna really get to know her heart. And I
just can't wait for people to see it. So I'm
always championing her.
Speaker 6 (38:47):
Whenever I can grip, I say Stefan Rackett, how to Chicago.
Speaker 9 (38:51):
I absolutely love this dude's comedy and he's been so
persistent with it.
Speaker 10 (38:57):
I love it.
Speaker 7 (38:57):
Eighteen and seven two four two two four two six
seven seven two two four six. Who would you honor
today with gifts of paying it celebrate?
Speaker 1 (39:06):
You heard from us?
Speaker 4 (39:10):
Because I got grew ready, I can expect.
Speaker 8 (39:13):
Morning.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
All right, good.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
People, today, we are paying it forward to those who
got next, who are doing great and needs support. So
let's go to the phones today and talk to Cookie
and Detroit. Hey, Cookie, who do you want to celebrate today?
Speaker 15 (39:27):
What up?
Speaker 3 (39:29):
I want to pay it forward to?
Speaker 5 (39:30):
My pastor and first lady Robin and Solomon Kinlock. He
is running for mayor of Detroit. Yes, yes, and that
is who. And my niece Dominique Brothers. She came here
eight years ago from South Carolina with nothing in her
baby and fiance, and now Apple Store is gonna give
(39:51):
her her own store in Detroit on what next month?
She pays all all her.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
What you call it accolade?
Speaker 5 (40:02):
I mean, yeah, she got it all and I just love.
Speaker 6 (40:05):
Her step Yeah.
Speaker 5 (40:07):
I love you guys too. Don't have a blessed day.
Speaker 8 (40:09):
Thank you you too.
Speaker 7 (40:11):
My cookie. George from Cleveland is on the line. Hey, George,
is there anybody you want to pay it forward to today?
Speaker 15 (40:16):
Yes, I'd like to pay it forward to kind of
a somber note, but to Noah Nunny. Noah was a
graduate class of twenty twenty four here in Cleveland, Ohio,
from John Hey High School. His parents took him off
the school last Friday, dropped him off and then they
were actually killed in a car accident. And so we
just wanted to lift up prayers for Noah Nanny and
(40:38):
his family and his siblings. I mean, he has two siblings,
two siblings that were in the accident as well. I
hated to call in on a somber note, but that
young man got a scholarship to go to un see
will ride for four years, and it's going to need
all the support that he's going to need here from
the city of Cleveland and the country.
Speaker 6 (40:58):
Absolutely, thank you for calling and sharing that with us.
Speaker 7 (41:02):
If you would follow us on social media and keep
us updated, tell us how we can help as well,
We'll do. Okay, thank you so much for God Yes,
bye bye, all.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
Right, Erica.
Speaker 9 (41:11):
I got a few ifout wanting to pay it forward,
I would say the comedian Kelly Cale's Yes, Nico Flowers,
you're in Atlanta, and coach Lawrence Williams, and I will
be remissed if I didn't say ROZs.
Speaker 6 (41:27):
Thompson, Yes, gets it first.
Speaker 7 (41:29):
I love it.
Speaker 6 (41:30):
I love it, y'all.
Speaker 7 (41:31):
Stick around, we got more on the way. Let's encourage
this next generation because they literally are the future. I
love y'all. I mean it's stick around. We got more
on the way. It's good up mornings.

All right, guys, coming up eleven minutes after the hour
the Love Talk of the day, plus the trending topics
in the quick Sports Minute. More great music from Marvin Sap,
Dante Bo and Jaquelin Carr. Here's brebabing No with Confident
on Get Up Morning.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Let's talk about love for God, So love the world,
love talking.
Speaker 7 (43:32):
Yes, it is time for the Love Talk of the day.
And listen. I'm not blind and I got discernments. Sometimes
I'll be knowing stuff. Man, When you see people who
say they're in love and you don't see no love
in their face, it is a sign.
Speaker 6 (43:50):
When you see people who say that they're in love, they.
Speaker 7 (43:53):
Don't smile, they don't laugh, Ain't nobody grabbing nobody's hands.
Something is going on. It does not mean she I'm
not saying that, but definitely there is a disconnect. Definitely,
there's some a lack of consideration that's happening. There is
a communication breakdown. There is no special moments. You could
(44:14):
just feel it the same way when people are newly
in love and they just giggling all the time.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
And everything is funny. Everything that say is funny. It
don't matter what they say.
Speaker 7 (44:22):
Listen, I bet Leniga laughed at everything Grif said when
they first got together. He was the funniest parton she life.
You know, you can see when people like each other
and you can see when they don't. And so my
prayer is for those of you that have been struggling
and we can see that you don't. I'm praying for you.
I'm praying that you have the hard conversation. I'm praying
(44:44):
that there'll be consideration in that conversation. I pray that
you have the courage to pray for one another. I
pray that you focus on the problem and not the result.
Focus on how you got where you are, not just
where you are, because if if you just worry about
where you are, you'll miss what the real problem is.
My prayer is that you pay so much attention to
(45:06):
one another that you recognize when it starts turning. You know,
when it starts going in the wrong direction, When you
start saying I don't care in your mind, when you
start saying it don't matter anyway in your mind, when
you start those things and the conversations is in your mind.
They come out through your pores, whether you want them
to or not.
Speaker 6 (45:24):
You can see it.
Speaker 7 (45:24):
You can see it, and you can see it in
restaurants when people are sitting and I go, oh, they
don't they don't like each other at all. You can
see it on planes. You can see when I was
walking behind a couple in the airport last night. I
don't know what was wrong. She ain't like him at all.
He kept turning, looking, trying to talk. I don't know
what the conversation was, but the body language was loud.
There was irritation and annoyance everywhere. If you say you love,
(45:46):
I pray that there'll be enough love between you to
start the healing conversation, start the turnaround conversation, start the
let's fix it conversation, start the let's fall back in
love conversation. I pray that you have and the courage
to do it. I pray that you have people around
you that recognize that are praying before you even know
to pray. Because love matters, your relationship matters. I don't
(46:09):
care how long you've been together, I don't care how
long you've been irritated. With one another, and you're just
flowing in function, and you're just there because you don't
feel like going. No, everybody, it is cheaper to keep
her all of that foolishness, so you stay and stay
frustrated and irritated. I pray that you have the courage
to fight for the love that brings joy and bring
peace and bring comfort and bring confidence. I pray that
you have the language for one another to communicate your
(46:32):
heart and not your hurt. Okay, that's my love talk
of the day. I love you and I mean it
all right. Guys, you know what it is? Trending topics

they've released federal police. But forty percent of the people
arrested since the federal law enforcements ramped up their presence
in DC are undocumented immigrants.
Speaker 6 (47:40):
So they've been more.
Speaker 7 (47:42):
Than three hundred and eighty arrests since August seventh, according
to the White House officials. More than one hundred and
sixty of those people are in the country illegally, including
those with additional charges including missault and kidnapping. And it's
really interesting because it's just crazy to see all these
federal police walking through the city I live. You know, well,
(48:05):
I have a house in northwest DC, which is uptown
closer to the Silver Spring line, if anybody knows the DMV.
And just to see people policing the neighborhood you grew
up in and no activity is really it's like older
people living in this neighborhood, you know what I mean,
Like it's just really crazy. I mean, you can't even
sit on your porch without being harassed. But it looks
(48:27):
like the bulk of folk that's being arrested, forty percent
of those people are immigrants. So you know, federal police
can't you know, arrest immigrants. It has to be ice.
It can't be you know, metropolitan police. But the mayor
did win, you know, in the course because they were
trying to literally take over the city. President Trump moved
(48:48):
to try to take over the city and run the district,
and they won in court that he couldn't do it.
So at least it's a stop to that. But it's
just really really crazy to see and to watch. And yeah,
like any other city, urban city, you see crime, but
it's never warranted to you know, release.
Speaker 6 (49:05):
Federal forces like that.
Speaker 7 (49:07):
It's crazy.
Speaker 6 (49:08):
It's crazy anyway.
Speaker 7 (49:09):
In other news, Gladys Knife is speaking out because you know,
her son was saying that she was being you know,
abused by her husband by making her perform sol legend.
Speaker 6 (49:20):
Gladys Knife, your husband, ye get out there and work
right well.
Speaker 7 (49:33):
Well, she spoke out about her son publicly and her
husband of elder abuse. Accordingly to them, you know, he
went to the shade Room of all places to report
the fact that he thinks that his mom is being
abused by her husband by you know, her being on
the Legends tour, the Sister's Legends tour, and you know
she's ready to get back out on the road.
Speaker 6 (49:53):
She's like, she doesn't feel like she too. Oh God
bless you. So you let your mama do what she
want to do.
Speaker 7 (49:58):
You don't wanted and stopped being the step child. They
don't like the new husbands alone him and your mama
is working.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
Right, probably paying your built.
Speaker 6 (50:10):
Anyway, we're moving on.
Speaker 7 (50:12):
H Layla, Layla, not Layla, But little Miss Zaiah Campbell
made the news, honey. She made the news because the
Little Miss African American Scholarship Pageant celebrated their thirty first
anniversary in Los Angeles and continues its mission to uplift
young African American girls through education and so yeah. According
(50:32):
to the Electronic Urban Web, Sayah made the news. Let
me tell you something because she lost the torch. She
passed the torch to the new winner, right, the new women,
Peyton mccannon, and she won last year. And they talked
about all the community service awards that she's did. She's
done for outstanding contributions over her year of reigning as
Little Miss African American.
Speaker 10 (50:54):
So yeay couple.
Speaker 7 (50:56):

I will still sleep when I got here, hear me,

it was Thursday, and it's Tuesday. That two hours that
I had to sleep was that flight of coming to
LA and then the delayed threw me off. But I'm
here and I made it through, and I'm encouraged just
like y'all are. So tell me what y'all loved about
the show today. Joyce and Concerns was really good because
(53:38):
I remember dropping my baby off to school and both
of them being so emotional, so I know Chris was
fighting back tears as he was there with Jamie yesterday.
And when it's they invite the parents to leave it
when we left film and they were like, we.
Speaker 6 (53:53):

I love you know.
Speaker 7 (54:02):
I like this Black app too. I like what John
is doing, so it was great to talk to him today. Griffington, well,
I just love that. You know, comedians can do other things,
you know.
Speaker 9 (54:14):
My biggest example of that is Saint Jude, how a
whole comedian would would at the same time of doing
TV and radio and everything else that he was starting
a hospital for people who couldn't afford to go to
the hospital, and that I'm about that life and it's
(54:35):
comedy for Turner needed with that we in.
Speaker 6 (54:37):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 1 (54:38):
Listen.
Speaker 6 (54:39):
I hope y'all was listening to that love talk.
Speaker 7 (54:42):
We can see you when you acting like like nothing's wrong,
and we can see that y'all don't even like each other.
No more, work on your love. You saying you cool,
he's saying he cool. Both of y'all can't stay at
each other. Talk about it. Get that thing right. It's
a long run. I don't want to be here no more.
Catch it at the beginning. Catch it when you get
(55:04):
on my nerves. Catch it when I don't even care
no more, all right, catch you when somebody else always
can get your attention real easy. Please hold on to
the love that you have.
Speaker 6 (55:13):
All right, y'all. That's the end of our time. Now
it's time to pray.
Speaker 8 (55:17):
Lord.
Speaker 6 (55:17):
I thank you, and I praise you. I glorify you,
I honor and adore you.
Speaker 7 (55:21):
Lord. Your word tells us to be sober and to
be vigilant, because the adversary is seeking home he may devour.
Let us not be devoured because we are not paying attention.
Help us to keep our eyes open to remember who
and whose we are, that you've already given us the victory.
Help us not be distracted by foolishness. Lord, help us
to continue to be a light in Jesus' somebody name.
(55:43):
Help us to remember that we are Christians, and they'll
know where Christians by our love, by how we love
one another. So help us to be more loving, gracious
and kind, to be like you and your name. I pray,
thank God, Amen, Amen, Amen. All right, y'all have a
good one. We'll see you tomorrow on faith, walking, love talk,
enjoy living. Get Up Mornings by everybody, Love you Mama.
