Speaker 3 (00:42):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Okay, everybody clap it up for that one, because like,
we're not surprised? Are we were not surprised?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Listen?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
What was the heart behind this song?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I am super excited about this song. We were doing
a writing camp for the new album and one of
the things that I shared you you inspired. So I'm
so excited I get to share this with you. One
of the things that I've loved and I sell this everywhere.
About Mayor Mary Erica Campbell, Tina Campbell, and Kirk Franklin,
(01:11):
is that throughout your career and your ministry, you've been
very intentional about making music for people who are beginners
like I just met Jesus yesterday. I don't understand all
of the lingo. I don't understand everything, but give me
something that will help me from my day to day.
So this song when we started to write, one of
(01:34):
the writers was like, Hey, let's talk about church on
a Monday or how do you develop the relationship with
Christ on a Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday? And I
just fell in love with the concept because from the
beginning with this record, I was adamant, Hey, I want
to make sure that just like mayor Mary, just like
kurtin Franklin, I want to make sure that we have
(01:54):
something from the beginner believer.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I love that. I love it. So this is your
first ever studio album. So we've loved you live so
many great experiences. What made you do a studio album?
For this approach? On?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Tasha oh Man. Over the last two, maybe two to
three years, I've just been being stretched creatively, and I
know it was intentional on God's part. You know how
he does that. It's like, Okay, what is happening? I
just want to be Auntie Tasha, y'all, y'all tell me
to do all this stuff. So like the d et Ciphers,
or like I was on the Jennifer Hudson Show and
she was like, hey girl, I heard you freestyle, and
(02:28):
I'm like, I don't freest out.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
What do we do?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
I realized that that God was stretching me. He was
showing me some other creative ways and creative ways to
express worship that I had not explored yet. And then
on top of that, writing the book Do It Anyway,
it put me in a place of transparency that you
just don't You don't go back, you know, to be
hidden and closed off after you're so vulnerable.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Josh have just was with you at the house Sweep
the sound event where you were freezing. By the way,
I remember, you're about to go on tour, the whole
and Free Tours coming this fall.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
What can we expresse you?
Speaker 3 (03:09):
What you're gonna be, Where, where's gonna be? We want
all the beats?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yes, so the Holy Free Tour. I'm super excited. It's
me and Naomi Rain. We just have this amazing chemistry
and worship. Naomi Rain is also one of the greatest
songwriters that I've ever experienced, and I think she too,
is really exploring all of the other avenues of worship
that got his placed inside of her. But I wanted
to do something a little different. I didn't want people
(03:34):
to just leave saying, hey, we had a great time.
We had chills, you know. I had a moment with
my girls and we cried a little bit. So we're
also bringing doctor Jackie Green and Kobe Campbell. And Jackie
is like a pastor teacher. She imparts so well. And
then Kobe Campbell is a Kingdom therapist. So throughout the
night they'll be coming dropping nuggets of wisdom in practical
(03:56):
ways to maintain your breakthrough.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Tasha Cobb's lenderd Ladies and gentlem put your hands together,
Get up Church, tell us how we can keep up
with you. Find out about the tour, the book, the music,
the all the friends.
