In deze aflevering praat Hanna Verboom met Vera van Zelm. Ze kampte met depressies en drie jaar geleden kreeg ze de diagnose ADHD. De depressies zorgden ervoor dat ze de hoop verloor en ze ontwikkelde een zelfhaat die alles overnam.
Vera vertelt over de twee keer dat ze diep in een depressie belandde, tot de crisisdienst aan toe. De tweede keer was ze al samen met de man met wie ze nog steeds is. “Achteraf kon ik pas voelen hoe heftig dit ook voor hem was, de periode daarna overviel me dat enorm."
Haar advies: “Denk niet: hoe verander ik mezelf, maar accepteer dat je brein anders werkt.”
