Até 1981, Lisboa teve dois santos padroeiros: o popular (Santo António) e o oficial (São Vicente). As razões para esta duplicidade estão enraizadas numa história com quase mil anos. Santo António acabaria por ganhar o título de padroeiro mas, ainda hoje, o símbolo da capital é a barca e os corvos que conduziram as relíquias de São Vicente para a capital.
