Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is going down out there?
Speaker 2 (00:01):
All right, your bed sheets that doesn't kind of collapse.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
We have a night of thrills tonight, mister Sullivan.
Speaker 4 (00:08):
I know, I'm excited.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Yeah, the Prairie Farms and TMB Towing are sponsoring. They've
got their grocery getter in Duro. It's a twenty minute race.
Rick Dawson, our host, what is the grocery getter?
Speaker 5 (00:20):
So they take they're basically I'm not sure the rules exactly.
I know they're not I know they're not race cars.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
You truly sound like the owner?
Speaker 5 (00:32):
Yeah, yeah, I'm heavily involved in that part of it.
They actually usually their front wheel drive cars that they
basically pulled off the streets and they run for twenty laps.
A lot of times we'll get rookie drivers that ever
drove a thing before.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
So again, any lady drivers because oh yeah, oh yeah, are.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
They driving perhaps older junkier cars.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Well, they don't take one off of Ed Martin's lot
to do it, all right?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
So yeah, all right? So now we then we have
what's known as a switchback race.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
All Right, this one I do know a little bit about.
It may be the same, these may be all the same.
Cars tonight. I'm not really sure when the expert gets here.
Hlasky Jared. Okay, so the the cars will go three
laps backwards and then they'll stop and turn around and
go forward.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Waits are still okay?
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Go all right? Then we have the poll race, all right.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
That we put a great big We got a big
semi tractor tire. We put in the middle of the
crossover in the X and the cars have to drive
around in the figure eight and every time they come
to the center they have to drive around that.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
This race.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Because we have this is a fun night. This has
got Sullivan written. Okay, okay, Now what's the rollover?
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Well, we didn't finish the yell race.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
Well, they don't stop for each other. They get they
all try to go around at the same time. You
got cars coming.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
From a roundabout race.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Yeah. Yeah, Hamilton County should be sponsored.
Speaker 6 (02:17):
Opportunity.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yeah, I'm going to send kelen O where to Hamilton County?
All right?
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Now, then we get to the rollover. What's the rollover?
Speaker 5 (02:23):
That one is we have a ramp and they'll take
their cars and they get three chances and each side
of the car they hit the ramp and roll over.
And however, many times they roll over each side they
get a.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Point, all right, so they just they're going to hit
it with one one side of it. They're trying to
roll over there.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
The object is to roll over.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
As many times if you can, because you get a
point for every time you make a turn. If you
roll a record, if.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
You roll it clear over, you get four points. Because
there's used to be four sides to us square. We
had one rollover. We had an eight point one time.
But what's funny with it? I mean, then things are
all bit and everything from the first time. They'll still
get in them and drive them around and again again.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
All right, So then the feature tonight I called Anderson
Airport to let them know I was flying into their
airspace because they're a controlled airspace, but they don't open
till late thirty. So I called to let them, and
this girl answers the phone. This is Gia, I.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Said, Does she sounds like she's in bed.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
No, it sounded like she was at Anderson College. She
goes to Anderson. So anyway, I said, Gia, this is
Denny Smith from WIBC, and I'm going to be flying
the gyrocopter over to Anderson's Speedway tomorrow and I it's
before the airport opened, and she said, well, she goes,
where are you going to land? She goes, do you
know the trailer races? The girl and she goes, you
know the trailer races this weekend? I said, geah, I'm
(03:45):
going to make you famous tomorrow. So anyway, she told
me that it was the best.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Yeah, it's it's pretty popular here in town. That's it's
our claim.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
To fame, all right, So tell us about that one.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
Okay, the trailer race, we got we have pecifications. That's
kind of a long word it, yeah, but that they
have to have the trailers and they can be pulled.
They can't be pulled by a race car that can't
be all beefed up in the front because it'll tear
somebody up. But they decorate the trailer, they put whatever
(04:16):
they want on them. We got we got to jet
ski set back there on the tail right now.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
It is, and pull a jet ski on a trailer.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, I've seen them pulling portal lats and everything.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
Maybe not, yeah, we've had we had actually had a
sewer tile on one of them.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I mean, how many everything, how many entries into the
this one.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
We usually cut it off at twenty.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
It gets kind of crazy.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
I mean the trailers are sweating back and forth.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
If you if the object is to face the ten
laps with your trailer and finish ahead. But if you
lose your trailers and they.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Do and they lose them, I mean they fly off
and if you end.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Up with someone else trailer, is that extra point?
Speaker 5 (05:02):
You know what, that's a good idea. I'm not might
try that. Yeah, And we don't stop it unless there's
a big incident. We don't stop it. They go flying
around the track and everything.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Rick Dawson the owner of Anderson's Speedway up here. So
do they have the safety chains on them or do
they just what's on the ball and that's it.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
We we do let them put safety chains so they
don't fly off into the fence or anything.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Or into the crowd.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yeah, that's it. That's kind of an issue.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
But we've never gone everybody, but yeah, it's pretty excited.
It leaves a big mess.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
But there's stuff everywhere, Toro stuffed animals.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Oh yeah, we've had a We had a guy come
up I think he had a camping trailer and it
busted all apart, and I had all these stuffed animals
in it, and I ran, I ran out and there
was a teddy bear in the mill of the middle
of the ground, just laying out there. I ran out
and started giving it.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Oh my gosh, there's nothing al This is a fun night.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
It's a fun night, night of thrills.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
And it's there's still tickets for tonight.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
Yep, there's still tickets available. You can get them online
now at Innerson Speedway.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Do you trust that internet thing? I know you're not
kind of quick into Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Right.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
You always open up at four pm Eastern because that's
when California is that. Is that what you do? Because
I saw the Pumpkin Town.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Yeah, the tickets, tickets.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
But you always open them late.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Yeah. We uh, we opened the gates of four tonight.
We'll have a big crowd and then they're not reserved
seats tonight. So and like the.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Fourth how much does it cost to.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Twenty bucks for adults and five dollars for kids five
to twent fun? Yeah, it's and we'll have we can
have the best race that you can ever put on
at a speedway. We bring trailers and school buses and
and this kind of stuff and the places packed.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Are most of the those that enter are they from here?
Speaker 5 (07:05):
And and then we get Monsie Anderson, we get Noble's
Vale and everything.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Some people come from everywhere to race in it.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Any any entries from Karmel this year, I was gonna ask.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
I'm trying to think. I don't think we have named
from Karmel this year. That is surprising.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I had heard that Brainerd had taken up stock car racing.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
I didn't know. I would like to put him would
be a natural driving the roundabouts. It seems like they
would be perfinal.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Well, I'm gonna send Kellan over there next year when
we do this and.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
Start recruiting people just stand on the roundabout before we.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Get to a break. I did notice something new. You
have frozen drink mixers. That's what Sullivan has at the
hardware store for dak Reas and Marguerite is look at you.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
Yep, it's nine in the morning.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
I found out that's not real good to own those
because at the end of the night there's usually some left.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Oh oh yeah, he can't let that stay.
Speaker 7 (08:03):
No, so you can't let him go to waste. So
it gets I know, you got to use it up
because you know what my father would say. You know,
there's there's uh, there's people in China that don't.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Have any much rice.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
That's right, my dad was China, wasn't It was.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
China. Just don't get this kind.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Of China hard to go to this other thing, which
is when we didn't finish our food, that there's a
little boy going up and down the alley with no
mama and no data and no nothing to eat. My
dad then I realized that didn't work on a margarita.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
By usually, on our bigger nights, we have a beer
standing over there. My dad's usually sells the beer right
beside the the slushy stand. He's ninety or going to
be ninety in February. That's his big job.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Is he living on tips? What's he gets? You're paying
the men? Aren't you get some tips?
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Gets get him off the off course. He's over there
every day, No kidding, Yeah, still good. He fixes those
little white fences out there.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
In front of the he's huh.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Going stay busy, baby, that's right, it's about that's right,
staying busy? All right? Well, is that it?
Speaker 3 (09:16):
That's about it for us to take a break. Well,
I gotta tell one more thing. I pull in in
the in the gyro plane. He sort of notices the
gyro Planye. I mean, it's kind of unusual to racetrack.
The first thing he asked me is what is Terry
Stacey coming? That was the first thing I bought me.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
I thought he was going to say, did you pay
the park? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:42):
He knows.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
I love this place, all right, So you can come
out right now and until one o'clock will be here
and you can see Denny's gyro plane.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
I'll be taken off at twelve forty five. You're gonna
end the show on yourself, by yourself.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Okay, Well, listen, Terry and I were leaving at twelve fifteen.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
We've got we've got some appointments right here, the big boy, right,
and then we're gonna make a day of it.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Wait, who's doing us? Don Fisher still doing the Is
he doing the game today? Let's put Don and see
if he wants any extra pregame time?
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Sure he'd love that. You know what, I thought I
could make it. I could make it to Bloomington and
land at the stadium. Oh, I mean easier than land
in here. There's no one.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Here's here's the problem. Then they actually have a good team.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Now, yeah, somebody's they do and a bison and bison,
and today we get to see the bison for the
first time.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Or they would have welcomed Denny's lamore.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
It's a distraction, all right, our number two three nine
ninety three ninety three are we taking calls out?
Speaker 3 (10:43):
We do have a Hey, look I see a camera?
Is that us?
Speaker 4 (10:47):
That is us?
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Yep?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Focus a little bit, all right, we'll come back with more.
We're here at the Anderson Speedway. Hopefully you'll get a
chance to come up. You can get your picture taken
with Denny's right, the flying law more.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
That's right.
Speaker 7 (11:04):
Oh, becchuck, I gotta smelling like rolls and she zogas stuff.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Got a sign.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
I'm a scott am a gym Mouthshay.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
I'm doing good. How about you, bet?
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I know you're a little sad that you're not here.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
I know I really feel like you guys, dog that
you guys left at home because I can see you guys. Yeah,
I feel like I'm looking out the windows you get
to driving away up.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yeah, we're having a ton of fun and stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
So Ethan. This song is about a guy that is
going to propose to his girlfriend. It's called the Road
to Hannah, which is a real road in Hawaii, but
the girl's name is Hannah. You got twelve days of
being a single man, boss.
Speaker 8 (11:55):
I'm on the road to Heather.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Oh see what he did?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
The nice?
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Very nice.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
You could have been here and Denny could have taxied
around with you in the flying lawnmower.
Speaker 8 (12:10):
Yeah, I thought you were doing that.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Oh well, that's about all I would do, would be taxi,
but I won't because I'd be afraid of you.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Take off, Eth, and I flew all the way up
to Lake Manitou, which is in Fulton County, just to
take him for a ride. And uh, he picked me
up at the airport, took me back. Beth made this
beautiful blueberry cobbler. It was wonderful. And then I said,
come on, I'm going to take you up and you
said no.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Yeah, I get car sick.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
He was going and I was really hurt, you know, Therefore.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
I didn't want to throw up in the back seat.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
You never throw up in an airplane. You throw up
in your shirt. You don't want any of that puke
to get on your instruments.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
No, not me. I don't want to soil my shirt.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
No, no, it keeps you warm.
Speaker 8 (12:54):
Would you would you rather get in a plane or
with Denny, or would you rather get in one of
the campers the innercent Speedway.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Tonight, I will be in the camper, and I hope
it's a little dangerous, but at least I'm on the ground.
Speaker 9 (13:08):
I hear it.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
You can take some drama met with you. Yeah, knock
you out, oh man.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
But the gyro so that's your You're back to an
open You've you've gone through so many.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Different gyro copters and because you've had a closed cab before, right,
I've had to So why have you gone back to
the open where it's so cold.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
In the summertime, it's not cold at all. If you
get cold, you just come down. If you get warm,
you go up. I mean, you can control it. I
don't know. If I had it to do over again,
I might go back to the enclosed. But this is
where we go.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
You're like a teenager that can make up there.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
If you build them, you build them. You know. I
took Rick over there. My name plates on there. It
says builder Dennis Smith. It says right there on. But anyway,
it's like it's like a motorcycle. It's a motorcycle in
the air, and so the wind comes around. It really
is thrilling. It really is pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
All right.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
So on the closed one, can't you just like hit
the button and send the window down.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
No, that's when we go through the drive through. You
know they have a drive through up there. When we
refuel in the air. Okay, I see when thirties come
by and we refueled it. You see that little nose.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Because you only carry three gallons.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Yeah, I have twenty nine gallons.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
So you well, this is your chance to come see
a gyro copter up close. So come on out to Anderson.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
Speed and he'll let you fly it.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
And you'll see, uh in the main parking lot, you'll
see our cars just pull down and you'll you know,
it's fifteen dollars to get.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
No, you, no, you just come just come walking by it.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
You guys have never charged for parking. Nope, No, it's
always been free. And by the way, you know, it
seems like I called him yesterday and I.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
Said I can change that for you.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yeah, the FAA makes you gain permission, I said, ricky,
okay if I land there tomorrow, well, well okay. And
then I asked him about what the parking lot was, mate,
tell him what this parking lot's made of.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
That's millings from the road.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
From the road. They just come over here and dump them.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Yeah, how was a landing strip?
Speaker 3 (15:06):
When he came down, I had to do a go
around because, no, it was very smooth. It really was smooth.
I got the big balloon tires on him now, but
uh it's millings. Those big wheels are designed for New
Zealand where they land on these gravel creek beds, and
uh so I thought that would work. But I didn't
have any idea I'd be landing.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
In the in the wrong place. Might have realized that
it's pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Terry won't fly with me, No, Allison, would you?
Speaker 6 (15:34):
I've considered it. I'm on the fence, okay, it's too
cold today.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
And she loved it, procyl She just loved it.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
She was a nan Well, Kylon also drives a motorcycle,
so yeah, she's little.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Less, she's fearless.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
I've always been scared me too.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Well, not when you were a kid. I bet we
were climbing apple.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
The top I think it.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
I think retail has done it to me, scared retail
just because I'm waiting for anything to happen. That's why
I had trouble with my shoulders because Ricky, you probably
do the same thing. It's like my uh, Courtney, my
plates were so put your shoulders down because I think
as a business owner, your shoulders go up to your
ears because you're waiting for the next.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Year to happen.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
That's not good. No, you got you gotta worry about
somebody falling. You gotta worry about a truck backing into
a What you see all these splices in these wires.
Those are delivery drugs that have taken down as power lines.
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Like so uh yesterday, Uh, I was first of all,
I had to go get a shot in my eye.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Oh what fur he has a little eye issue.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Read that thing. It's it's they call it retail eye.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Can you just get that after some time in retail.
So you got the hunched shoulders, you got the bad eye.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
Yeah, some people call it called retail eye, or some
people call it choplifters eye.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
So they give you the needle right in the eye.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
That's right, And did they liquor you up for us?
Speaker 3 (16:58):
I mean, do they give you some any seizure something.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Or I really don't pay too much attention.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Well you're squatching too much, you be pulled up tighter
and probably just probably just trying to dissociate.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
They number your eye before they did it four years.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
I told him.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
That's not you.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Guys are both in retail. Do you have to worry
about Shoplok.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
He's got he's got retail. I as well. So, but
the doctor was running late and I had to get
to uh Pendleton for j m V show.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I made it right. When I was going on, I
go on and I start talking about myself.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
I did that for.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
You, and he goes hey, hang on, he goes hey,
joining us on the program is Kevin Kneelan from s
n L. It's like, well, thanks for the warning. Yeah,
thanks for the warning. I could have done a little research.
But he very cool guy.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
He is a cool guy. They put him back on.
You know, they've tried to bring back that show. What
is it? Match game? Match Game? So they brought back
Match Game for the summer. Do you a match game?
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (18:02):
The game show? They brought it back where it's been
gone since the seventies and so they're bringing it back.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Like they were bringing back to w I b C.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
It was so we used to play it every morning.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
I used to.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
It's one of the panelists. Okay, so that's what he's
doing now, I think.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
And he's in town right helm And I.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Think he is he. I think he's here tonight.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Was He reminds me of a little you know, he's
kind of laid back and.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Called yesterday and and it was kind of cool he does. Yeah, Yeah,
he's meeting.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
A really good guy. So if you'd like Helium tonight
downtown a.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Lot of cool names did really have open place.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
It's a chain, like a comedy comedy over the country.
Helium's like in everything.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Okay, so he's probably doing the Helium circuit.
Speaker 6 (18:52):
Yeah, probably, And I'm sure they know bigger names, that's
what they get. But they always have some really cool
acts there. So yeah, but Kevin Neil tonight.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, he was in what was the the movie is
just In with Adam sandlerlore too.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, he did a little cameo that thing.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
We started watching it last night because did you. Yeah,
And it's amazing how many people are.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
In it and what seventy three cameos?
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Okay, so what he was saying, I looked it up.
So he goes, what we did the first film, It's
like there was no budget. They're doing this, you know,
stupid thing. And he goes this one. He goes, the
budget was huge. There's all these famous people.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
It's like people were begging to be in it, just
for just for a scene.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
And you know somebody who wasn't in it was Zach
Terry from michelss.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
That wasn't your best segue.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
But I thought it was okay, it was really pretty good.
I mean, I thought it was kind of good.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
I think, hey, Ethan, will you put him up?
Speaker 3 (19:54):
I don't have a hey, Zach, hey from them, the
Tailer's Corporation.
Speaker 10 (20:02):
So I wasn't in it.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
How do you know?
Speaker 10 (20:04):
I wasn't in that whatever you're talking about.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
We were talking about Hacky Gilmore too.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
They couldn't afford you, they couldn't afford your royalties.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
Yeah, they went with Travis Kelsey instead.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
He who's that.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
He's the guy that holds Taylor's persons, mister Swift, that's right.
Speaker 6 (20:28):
Proud to be it.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
How's everything going, Zach Oh?
Speaker 10 (20:32):
Well not too bad. First off, I here, you guys
are in Anderson at the trailer Trailer poll, and Uh,
it's funny because every time I talk to you guys,
it's always something.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
But my cousin.
Speaker 10 (20:42):
Did that for a couple of years before having his
first son, and then his wife was like, yeah, you
gotta not do that anymore.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
Well, I probably agree, but that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
Wow, I think that's cool.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
It's amazing.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Because his friend wanted to put a car see then
put a car seat in the trailer. Yeah around put
them right to sleep probably, So Uh, go ahead, sach,
I think we have a little I.
Speaker 10 (21:16):
Was just gonna say, I was sitting there thinking, uh,
you know what, I was going to talk about this
this week on the show. And you know this week
I've I've run into it a couple of times where
people have called.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (21:28):
Michelle has called me for like pre inspections before they
put their house like on the market, you know, when
they're selling the home. Uh, just to have me come
out and identify any issues with the foundation. Mold addicts,
you know, anything of that nature, and then uh and
then address the problem, because you know, when you when
(21:48):
you get an inspector out there and you're in contract
with the buyer. Uh, things get a little weird. It's
a tug of war battle, is what I call it.
So haven't having us come out before even you put the.
Speaker 9 (21:59):
House on the market.
Speaker 10 (22:01):
It's not a bad idea, you.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Know, it's actually a great idea because there's if you
get some of that stuff taken care of. Because first
time home buyers when they get that report from the inspector,
some of them like just freak out, like they don't
want anything to do with that house. And you know,
I've been around long enough it's like now you just
got to fix it. But yeah, getting ahead of that
stuff is a really good idea, Zachy.
Speaker 10 (22:26):
I think I've had three or four appointments last week
here with with those with those same phone calls, and
you know, we were able to identify the problem and
even if they wanted to wait, you know, it's just
giving them the quote of work and then be like, hey,
you know, if this comes up on the inspection report,
we could take care of it as well. You know,
we can wait if it's something major or something minor.
Speaker 11 (22:49):
And then we accept at closing.
Speaker 10 (22:51):
So we accept payment at closing, table, so we're not,
you know, trying to eat somebody's pocket up for work
that needs to be done well, you.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Know, and plus obviously most people want to give the buyer,
their customer a good home. And Michelle itself us.
Speaker 10 (23:07):
With that, yes, sir, of course. And that's something even
if it's even if it's like hey, I need to
have new flooring put in, or or you need yourself
full of replace and we could do it all. We
can do the sell fluor of replacement and then even
come in and do the flooring as well, so you're
not having to call.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Hey, Zach, what are you doing this weekend?
Speaker 12 (23:28):
I'm trying to go for a ride in this gyro copter.
Speaker 13 (23:31):
To be honest with.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
You, Benny will be there in five.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
You know what what you should do is just come
up the keys in it.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
No, I don't have another headset.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
I was.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
I was gonna ask Allison if she wants he's.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
Taking it himself. Have you ever flown in something like that?
Have you ever flown in a lawnmower? Yeah?
Speaker 10 (23:45):
I mean I've been in I've been in a helicopter
a couple of times.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
I mean, okay, so you've been in a helicopter. Have
you ever driven a riding lawnmower?
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Unfortunately, No, it's like sitting on Grandpa's lap on the lawnmowers.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
You really kind of ruined my bit there because he
didn't never travel more.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah, YESA say, I would say, if you've been in
a helicopter and driven out of writing lawnmore, you're you're
good to go.
Speaker 10 (24:12):
I wouldn't totally now, I wouldn't need the headset at all.
Speaker 12 (24:15):
They serve beer up there.
Speaker 10 (24:16):
It sounds life sounds like.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (24:18):
I was like his dad's serving beer by the slushy
sand I just need one of those.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
And Denny has a whole cooler of beer.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
I know he in the back seat. F A A
doesn't think that's funny.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
Pat whatever, Zach. I hope you have. I hope you
have a great weekend. Hey, thanks you guys, And remember
the Michellis Corporation is there for you twenty four seven
three sixty five and.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
That includes holiday weekends. The number eight four four fixed Indy.
That's eight four four fixed Indy. Water storms, fire and
wet basements. Life happens, Micheless happens to help you through it.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I mean, you bet. I felt it.
Speaker 14 (24:55):
I tried to beat you, but you so hot that
I'm melted. I felt right the cras. Now I'm trying
to get back before the cool done run out. I'll
be giving it my bestness and nothing's going to stop me.
Would divine into invention. I reckon it again. My turn
to win some more learns.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Good morning, walk the back, Pat Sullivan, Terry Stacy, Denny Smith,
Allison Lemons.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
Now I'm third in mine.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
You know, I was just going around the horn. But
you know, and you know, after I've seen the gyro,
I've thought, well, you're not gonna be with the show
that much longer.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Gam is our field engineer. And uh I forgot Lucy
and Harry.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Chad and Ruthy Chadd and Destiny.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
I love the name, Ruth.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Come to the name is the most precious thing that
somebody owns. Remember their names really well.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Sometimes their names don't fit.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Here we here we go, it does Destiny?
Speaker 4 (25:54):
What was his name?
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Chad chat He really looks like Tommy Famous.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
No. When I look at somebody like him at like
just a strong.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
It looks like a guy from Wisconsin.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
That's a pretty strong name. Tom No, Chad, I think.
Speaker 6 (26:09):
He looks like a country singer.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Yeah, Tad like that. Chad's getting beat up on in
the parking lot, but Tom Tom's taking charge.
Speaker 6 (26:18):
So Tom and Ruthie are here. I don't have the
name Ruthie, but des is actually a pretty name too.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
It's a beautiful name. I just say, I like Ruthie too,
and so I'm calling her Ruthy since Pat's opened the
door for us to call anybody any names. Quite frankly,
Pat doesn't do much for me.
Speaker 6 (26:34):
Hey, middle name is Gerard, Wow with an accent or
over the r.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Is that after a saint?
Speaker 4 (26:44):
Yeah? St Gerard. There's a lot of people in my
age that have Gerard.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
All right, you've Allison twice? Let her finish. It's Patrick
Gerard here.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Did you know about Denny his middle name?
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Of course?
Speaker 15 (26:58):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (26:58):
I didn't you know?
Speaker 16 (27:00):
Oli?
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Our middle names?
Speaker 3 (27:02):
I don't know yours?
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah you do?
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Alison Marie, No, jeez, Alison K Alison ky.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Kind of like a cap answer is, uh yeah, Alison K.
Tapping too, God bless America, naked little Dandy.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Actually, did you did you.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Take tap lessons? I always I get it taken.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
I took flogging lessons once flogging yeah, I tripped over
myself multiple times and was not asked back.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
We should tell everybody where we are we are Speedway
and it's we're loving it.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
And action entertainment at the Anderson Speedway. The Night of
Thrills is tonight.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
And that was funny because Rick Dawson said, yeah, they
put out all these great races, but you know what,
you do a bunch of crazy races and it fills
the place.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
So you got the grocery little Buro, you got the
switchback race, you got the pole race, which sounds crazy,
the rollover.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
It's not naughty, by the way.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Pulled out the full dancing race.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
But the trailer race is a feature here. It is
sponsored by Prairie Farms and TMB Towing, and the trailer
races are ten laps and these guys are pulling trailers
and they got everything on the back.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Of Listen the whole thing from start to finish.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
His feet so much.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
Fun, so fun.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
You know what, I've got a buddy who and he's
his mother in law is in a hospital bed and
her name is Markowitz. Her name is Jackie Markowitz. And
maybe we could get Jackie Markowitz in one of these
trailers in her hospital bed. I think that would be cool.
Jackie would love that. She's ninety years old or more.
I don't know, but I think she.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Called her around on our hospital bed.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Yeah, I think she'd love that.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
She's a crazy I mean, I don't know she's crazy.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Anyway, get Marko Witz on the back of that thing.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
It's poor woman in the hospital, Butcher love pulling her
I know.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Well.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Anyway, Fulton has text me and wants to know when
John JMV is going to call in and after I
think Cam would agree with me. After when I was
leaving Mystic Waters and I told text him, I said,
I think jam V might be sleeping in oh from
he's in cabin thirty nine.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
He's in a cabin.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Yeah, he's in cabin thirty nine weekend And said, you
know thirty nine, cabin thirty nine.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
If it's it sounds like a horror moone.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Where is that? It's in just a Pendleton right here,
Pendleton and it is just a water in setting round
a lake.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Yes, I think it's a type of place.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
It's outdoor escape and family campground.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
That sounds fun. Probably have a I've looked at the
other day at A. It's called a. It's a it's
a work.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
With her, work with her. It's coming kind of. An
RV is right there at RV what van?
Speaker 6 (29:47):
So it's a van.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
So it's van size, but on the inside of what
is just a little bit of a longer van is
your kitchen, your bath, your were you but it's not. No, okay,
it's a small RV, but but it's called it.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
They put it on a sprinter platform.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
It's really cool.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
You can stand up in it.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
You I could drive it and we could go to
a place like this and hook in.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Well that's why.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
So they have like eighty hookups not I mean trailer hookups.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, we knew you.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
We don't want to have any hookups. We got it
going on over there at Mystic Waters.
Speaker 6 (30:22):
It's just the camera van.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
So they have them there you go.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
And the thing about these cabins are you know, you
bring your own sheets and stuff for the for you know,
oh yeah, full cabin. So John is in thirty nine.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Did you go see the cabin?
Speaker 4 (30:34):
No, you know, I was. I was on a busy scale.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
So one of those places you have bathroom and everything, right,
I get the bathrooms in there.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Yeah, maybe maybe.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Well, well, anyway, sounds cool, Yeah, sounds very cool. But
it's packed on Labor Day weekends.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Yeah, so it was. There was nothing left except camping.
You can you can throw up a tent. You can
throw up a tent. But they have music today and stuff.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
You keep wondering how where else can the salespeople find
shown to go.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
They're wearing that boy amv is doing.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Uh he is doing the JAMBI takeover from there tonight. Yeah,
that's where I was going.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Now, how is he going to do?
Speaker 1 (31:09):
How about that?
Speaker 4 (31:10):
They're going to be there again, our field engineer, he
is cam You're going there again. Yeah, smile.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
I can't sleep.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
In the last two day engineer.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
I don't know why he didn't bunk up in thirty
nine with John. Should you ever come here this morning?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
That might have felt weird.
Speaker 6 (31:28):
Yeah, well he should have just gotten his own little cabin.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
I bet they don't have a cabin to be I mean,
bet there's nothing on Labor New weekend.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
That's true, no cabins.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
But you know what, he could have stayed in the
neighborhood neighbor van And how friendly is that our w
YBC neighbor to neighbor van. So what I used to
drive around in for years, right, my little neighbor and neighborho.
I bet they still got the same look. They've still
got the same sponsor on there from neighborhood neighbor years ago.
Comfort option.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yeah? What am I looking at? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (31:56):
Hey, Ethan, Uh, you know the computers are really small
from you know how a shot in my eye yesterday.
Who's who's on the phone?
Speaker 8 (32:03):
That is Steve? And then also that is also the
camera as well, just so that you know you're looking pretty.
Speaker 6 (32:09):
Close every time laptop well, you know, just just it's
like a warning for our listener thinking.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
I'm people are watching on YouTube, We're going to get
sea sick.
Speaker 6 (32:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Probably.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Could you go ahead and put Steve on the air
with us?
Speaker 3 (32:24):
I think this is funny. Hey, this is the show
with Terry, Stacey and Allison.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
I see.
Speaker 12 (32:30):
I got a question for Denny.
Speaker 17 (32:32):
Denny, can the gyrocopter hover?
Speaker 3 (32:38):
It can hover in a twenty mile an hour wind.
You still have to be this is a logical the.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Sok at the Barbie gyrocopper, Steve.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
I have to be moving forward in order to stay
at altitude. Okay, Okay, I think the slowly stick his
finger of its slow. Hey, the guy has a legitimate question,
A good question, Steve, or I can fly at twenty
mile an hour or I can fly at one hundred
and twenty mile an hour. But because the slow fly
say what?
Speaker 4 (33:10):
No.
Speaker 17 (33:10):
The reason I was, the reason I was acting is
I want to know if you're able to buzz the
house of the one of the co hosts for the
that Amber and Ashley produces during the week, because he
was really talking bad about you yesterday, and I think
he could. A couple of low pathes over his house
would probably teach.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
Him a lesson.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
The thing is liston is controlled airspace and we don't
go out there.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
Well, he listens to science.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
He lives in Zionsville. Now, Zionsville is controlled airspace. We're
not allowed to fly with you.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
You're such a goodie two shoes. Give me the keys.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Oh he doesn't have a key. Maybe thought right now.
Speaker 6 (33:47):
Nigel's just jealous because Denny can say what he wants
on air and pass. How he's talking about is Carmel
he roundabouts?
Speaker 3 (33:53):
He can't. Oh, he can't. What Hammer says on air
day Nigel, Oh, Nigel didn't say things.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
All An, is this some argument I don't know about
this sounds you you you missed it.
Speaker 6 (34:03):
We were talking about it earlier.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Sounds like inside baseball. So maybe we need a break soon.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
He says, all right, soon, but that doesn't mean now.
Speaker 17 (34:11):
Yes, I got to tell you that the Pumpkin Town
tickets are selling like hot, like hot pies. Uh my
wife waited six minutes she got online. It's four oh
six and she had to like take the second alternate
for her date. That's how fast the Pumpkin Pound tickets.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Yeah, so that was happening yesterday. The uh, the platform
we use as a ticketing software, they're really cautious and
they put everyone in a queue so that they don't
overwhelm the site. And it took a little longer than
than what we.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
We've still got tickets, so left right, maybe plenty.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
There's plenty, plenty, plenty of t and but people want
the weekends and stuff so that people get on So
Sullivan Hardware dot Com for Pumpkin Town. It's a lot
of fun. It's been gaining steam the last couple of years,
really is gaining steam.
Speaker 17 (35:03):
Yeah, Denny, thanks for working on the gyro plane.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
Yeah, hey, Steve, you know what. We're here till one.
If you want to come ticket for a run, come
on up.
Speaker 12 (35:11):
How hard could it be?
Speaker 4 (35:13):
How hard it's all? Can you have you ever ridden lawnmore?
Speaker 5 (35:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Okay, you're in, Come on up all right? Two three nine,
ninety three, ninety three We are coming back. We are
here at the Anderson Speedway. The gates open at four
o'clock tonight. The racing is fabulous. It's so fun. It's
not really racing, but it is a good time and
you know, a beautiful weekend.
Speaker 13 (35:37):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
The place to be tonight, Anderson Speedway. There is no
reserve tickets, so the gates open at four. Come early,
come off, and we're coming right back. Ninety three WIBC.
Speaker 13 (35:58):
Next to me, Ay, good morning, walk back.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
We are here at Anderson Heedway. The door's open rick
at four o'clock tonight.
Speaker 5 (36:15):
They do we actually have. The ticket office is getting
right open here at ten o'clock.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Wait a minute, can you buy your tickets ahead of time?
Speaker 5 (36:22):
You can do that. You can either come and see
us here in person, come see Denny's gyro, or you
can buy him online.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Where's the ticket office right over here.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Right there see the black and white the King.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
So from experience rick for people that are coming for
the very first time, right at four o'clock, is there aligned?
Does there get to be a pretty good line at
the ticket off?
Speaker 5 (36:43):
There is? And sometimes we get we get the lines
through pretty quickly. But they have extended clear out to
the main entrance. So you want to get here early
and get your seat there or.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
To swing by grabbing tickets because then you're going right
in to get your seat.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
That's true. It's come in and it's known as runway
four runway. They stretch all the way out there.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
So people like they come in and mark their spot,
Like do they send one person all that crowd?
Speaker 5 (37:10):
Oh yeah, that we have. We have several folks to
do that.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
But are traffic cones you know?
Speaker 6 (37:15):
Or just their children?
Speaker 5 (37:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (37:19):
Up there?
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Look at you just see sleeping babies everywhere?
Speaker 1 (37:23):
And what can you bring in here? What like like
you bring your can you what can you bring with you? Anything?
Speaker 5 (37:31):
Well, you bring yourself but kids.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
But it's all about confessions here.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Yeah, but not like you know, like you're you're wagging no.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
Or strollers and stuff like that there. I mean, I
don't stop them from coming in, but they're really in handy.
You can't take them up.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Just a pain really if you brought them there.
Speaker 18 (37:51):
Now.
Speaker 5 (37:52):
So will try to bring big bags and stuff in,
and sometimes they do.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
You have to search them.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
We we do.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
I don't like and that let you get to confiscate
the hooge I mean yeah, it fills the liquor.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
Can.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
Most of the folks come in here. They know the rules.
We got signs up and they they respect it.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
You should just take like a stick and get like
a red light on, act like you're skinning it and.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
You know, yeah, yeah, they look like when you go
into the field games.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Yeah, it's like and then kind of like down like
the down on their body and stuffing like buddies that
you say, beep beep with the stick.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
It's me. Sometimes folks will try to bring a bunch
of food and stuff in and.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
We gotta go here, Rick, hang that hold onto that thought.
Our number two is coming up ninety three.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
W IBC, it's gone. Some folks see the grown up men.
Those stud just little boys.
Speaker 19 (38:52):
That really the only difference is the price of our toys.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
We go for macho symbtoms like.
Speaker 19 (38:59):
Gone running shoes, pickup trucks, ducks and power Dudes.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
Power Dudes to take a morning walk Saturday's Home and

on up here. It's a beautiful day. You'll uh, you'll
get to take your picture with Denny's flying lawnmower.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Uh and little respect.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Somebody's been here yet, so there's not really a long
line right now.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
I got.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
I did post a little video of Pat and Terry
reviewing the gyro cop so people can see it on Facebook.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Okay, yeah, you should do that and then you'll know.
So then we got some great promotional giveaways. We've got
we have pins with a app on them, and then
we have kind of the deluxe ones like those are
the ones where you twist them and then the pen
comes out.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
And then on the other side where the eraser is
is a stylust for your iPhone.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Yeah really, Okay, that's that's the type of gifts.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Now, the other chock is known as a Pat Sullivan
and that's for eyeglass cleaning.
Speaker 6 (40:23):
I still understand whose idea this was.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
I don't know, but you know what, everybody that uses
that people love them, really, they really use them. And
there's the very best eyeglass cleaners you've ever had in
your life. I'm telling you they're really cool.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
We'll give you two for the price of one.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
All right, tonight at the Anderson Speedway. It's a night
of thrills.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
It is indeed.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
Four o'clock open pit gates and front gate. Now.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Pro tip, come by if you're in the area. Get
your tickets before so you don't have to stand in line.
There is no reserve seats.
Speaker 6 (41:00):
You can also buy them online.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
You can buy them online as well.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
And the seats are in good shape. No splinters in
your bottom, that's right, no splinters in your bottom.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
It is first come, first serve. Bring a hockey stick
because there may be some trouble out stands, so a
little bit of pushy shawby.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
I like to sit up pie you. I like to
be able to see everything I put you on that.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
I like sitting up pie, rust and dust and stuff.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
I've had that all right at four point thirty practice?
Now is that for the fans?
Speaker 5 (41:30):
Or is that I have no idea what's going to be.
I suppose the grocery.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
I would say, you practice and get down to show
how long it takes to go to the bathroom and
stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Six o'clock drivers.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
Meeting, that's important, all right, left goes fast. There's rules
for their kind of.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
Fun invacation and the national anthem.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Who's doing the national anthem tonight? Oh my gosh, is
it Tory spelling? Who was Tory spelling?
Speaker 3 (41:58):
It's on the tape, okay, nippers on the tape, the
tape you know, a.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
Week for you when we have a break into the
news time, we will record all of us singing the
national anthem and you'll play that tonight and you'll love it.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
We can do that.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Actually, I think Donnie Osmond's coming. Maybe Donnie and Marie
uh seven o'clock to features first the grocery getter in Duro.
Speaker 6 (42:24):
And explain again what that is.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
I can't front wheel.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
Draft car, so twenty minute in Duro racing.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
You know, it would be fun if they were actually
pushing long, but they were pushing grocery car.
Speaker 6 (42:34):
That's how I envisioned it honestly.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
Before explained du racing.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
It's just long, long, long endurance. It starts to bore
the audience. There's no I don't think in that race
they have yellow flags. It's either green or red, so
they don't stop if you spin or something they do.
Speaker 6 (42:51):
We'll talk to Jared later.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
He's going to be out here to turn out of
your number thirteen bled out because they don't stop.
Speaker 6 (42:58):
The race than gosh, clean up on Aisle three.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
So but they're just regular extreet cars. Yeah, and they
just drive.
Speaker 5 (43:06):
But there's not not everything tonight. It's going to be
just regular street cars. It won't be race cars. All right.
Speaker 4 (43:11):
What's a switchback race?
Speaker 5 (43:12):
All right? They'll go they'll go three laps backwards drivers
and then stop after the third lap around the three laps.
The other way is from my understanding, we'll get Jared
to clarify this. They don't stop.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
We should, you know what, we should do it right
here in the parking lot that all of us in
our car's right backwards until they tell us to stop.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
So how many entries would you say for the switchback?
Speaker 5 (43:45):
I would say ten to fifteen to fifteen okay, uh
pole race that that's a figure eight race where they
everybody drives in the figure eight, but when you get
to the center of the X, you have to drive
around a big tractor tire while the other cars are
coming into the xtt the same time at the same time.
It's kind of crazy.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
I like around, all right, I love this. I love
America as well.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Rollover rollover.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
We've got I think three or four cars that's entered.
They We've got a ramp for them. They hit the
ramp hopefully sometimes they don't and they flip over. And
as many times they however many sides they turn over
on they get a point and they get three chances.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Are they just regular seat belts and harnesses?
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Yeah, when in a regular car.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
Some of them may some of them may have I
think we do love them put racing belts in it
if they want.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
But are they wearing helmets?
Speaker 5 (44:42):
Oh yeah, okay, yeah want some.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
Drivers And you would say the most popular the feature
is the trailer.
Speaker 5 (44:48):
It's got to be uh, we'll probably have twenty trailers.
I think we're scheduled for and it's a ten lap
race in the figure eight.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
And and how many.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
Uh so the vehicles are just can they be? How
big can the vehicle be? Can there pickup trucks?
Speaker 5 (45:04):
We don't let big pickup trucks because it would be
too dangerous for the other cars if they did. One
of the cars, but small like the old s ten.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Somebody is an advantage to be like a small car
with a small trailer. Or does a trailer have to
be a certain size?
Speaker 5 (45:19):
It could because that gives you a little more maneuverability,
But then it makes you a bigger target too.
Speaker 1 (45:24):
So it's so fun. They are flying everywhere.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
Target you mean, do people try to hit hit their trailer?
Speaker 5 (45:31):
Unfortunately, sometimes that's their mission. Because of that, you have
to have your trailer on to win the race. So
once you lose your trailer, you got to pull off.
Speaker 3 (45:40):
Okay. Now you also have school bus races, but not tonight.
Tell me how that school bus races?
Speaker 5 (45:46):
They race in the figure eight. Also in the fourth
of July, there's twelve we have seven or eight school buses.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
You know why they race them in the fourth of July. No,
so they can get them ready for school.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
To pick up still fire, you can't do that now
because they on Tuesday, they got to get the kids.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
No, you're right.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
Do all the school districts enter their own bus?
Speaker 20 (46:07):
No?
Speaker 5 (46:07):
We actually the bus grides that takes care of the
Anderson school systems just right here by the track. And
they actually have race cars too and on Saturday night,
but they supply the buses. It's usually buses that's been
taking out commission normally.
Speaker 4 (46:23):
Rick Dawson, owner of the Anderson Speedway, who should write
a book.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
He's been in therapy for twenty of them.
Speaker 6 (46:33):
Anything a documentary about this place.
Speaker 5 (46:35):
Yeah, actually to do that, I should have written down everything,
because there's no way I'm going to remember. Actually I
do remember what I was, which is odd. I remember
what I was going to say before we went to
break is that if you do buy your tickets online,
you don't stand in line at the gate to buy
(46:56):
them and everything. You can come right through, get your tickets, cain,
go right to.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
Your seat for protest seats. Yeah, pro tip.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
So how will it get busy right at four o'clock
to people really want to didn't get there?
Speaker 5 (47:05):
Yeah, about four o'clock there'll be a line of people
coming in and getting their seats and a little bit
between five thirty six o'clock, the parking lot will fill
up and they'll be a big crap. But I won't
get you in here quick. You won't miss you won't
miss windy open. The concession stands though, over to four
four o'clock. So are you hungry?
Speaker 4 (47:24):
It's five dollars to park. Yeah, it's not think so
I'm setting right up.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
I don't think you're allowed to do that.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
Well, Rick won't know. He'll be busy.
Speaker 5 (47:38):
I'm too busy.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
He'll be busy.
Speaker 6 (47:40):
Parking is ten and then at.
Speaker 4 (47:41):
The end I'm just going to hand him a big
shoe box full of cash.
Speaker 5 (47:44):
Take it that you have to sort it, and.
Speaker 6 (47:49):
I'll take it. I'll take it there, I'll take you.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
So could you tell who's on on the line?
Speaker 6 (47:55):
We're getting a little bigger here because I, uh, you.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
Couldn't see it either.
Speaker 6 (47:59):
To be honest, I don't think my vision is much
better than yours. I've had glasses and size about three
years old. I have contacts in uh yesterday, and he
probably has the best eyes. I would say, uh, who's
on the line? Cam bring them up?
Speaker 2 (48:15):
Hey, I did want to mention h full self promotion
here Pumpkintown tickets are on sale now. They went on
at four o'clock yesterday, sold a couple twenty four hundred
tickets in the first hour. U. So it's twenty four
hundred families. But there is.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
Still a lot of tickets left for you. Uh.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
And then we also have these huge promotions going today
at our stores. Terry, Oh, no one else's I.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Want to talk to people.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
I should get a picture of this. In this it
takes to people.
Speaker 4 (48:43):
Everybody's leaning over this little laptop.
Speaker 6 (48:47):
The lot, Cameron, here we.
Speaker 3 (48:52):
Go, spark plugs. All right, Jerry, thanks for being.
Speaker 4 (48:56):
And I'm promoting myself.
Speaker 3 (48:58):
No, no, this we got a caller. Oh fine, Jerry,
how are you Harry? Well, between the three of us,
we have one eye.
Speaker 4 (49:07):
This is such a bad show.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
I don't know appreciate Janey or whatever your name is.
Speaker 21 (49:15):
Hello, my name is Janey, and you guys are having
too much fun.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Yeah, and we didn't even bring whiskey.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Hey, I have a born question.
Speaker 21 (49:28):
I have a water softener that's two years old, Puritan
Maide in Crawfordsville.
Speaker 22 (49:35):
Uh.
Speaker 21 (49:35):
And I'm afraid that I might have bacteria uh in
my waterline. I was I brought uh out Chapman, who
I bought the machine the conditioner from, and the tech
had never seen that before. He was just clueless. And
(49:56):
uh so the question is for Denny, where do I
go to get Oh, and they want to charge three
over three hundred dollars to clean the water.
Speaker 3 (50:08):
Softener to Brian, Yeah, I don't think they're going to
clean it. It needs to be it needs to go
under UV light to to kill the bacteria. Then it
needs to be filtered and flush. What they're probably going
to do is just empty the canister and put a
new electrolyte into it. I would call c J it's
a I would call eight five two well, and uh,
(50:29):
just tell them what the situation is. And they work
on other models too. Puritan's not a bad model. Uh,
it's just that are you on a well? Is that
how it's gone?
Speaker 4 (50:37):
No?
Speaker 21 (50:38):
No, I'm on fishers, water fish and fishers, all.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
Right, so that you really do need to take care
of that because you don't want bacteria.
Speaker 4 (50:49):
Janey, I'm going to have to put you on a
boil order.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
So eight five too, well, and ask for a fellow
by the name of Kirk k I R. K.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
Smith.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
He is a certified water quality expert. I think he's
at level six and I think that's the best. But
just tell him, how did you diagnose that it was bacteria? Well,
we're just uh.
Speaker 21 (51:12):
They were guessing the water is dirty in the oh yeah,
it looks dirty, and the peck didn't. He didn't even
say anything about it. And I said, why is that?
Why is the water dirty? And so he called his
boss and it sounded like the boss was reading information
off the internet that I.
Speaker 1 (51:29):
Had just read.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
Yeah, that's very possible.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
I don't I don't be smirch any plumber, but water
quality is water quality, and you need a water quality expert.
So call eight five to two, Well that's three one seven,
ask for Kirk and tell him that Denny says you're
the best in the city. He'll he'll do okay, okay,
all right, Oh, thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (51:55):
You bet see you later. Hey, I want to mention too.
I've had some good experiences with Chatman, so I don't
want to Uh, you don't under the bus. And I
don't think the term clueless was right. It's like he's
just seen something that he's not seen before, Hiah. So
we certainly don't want to throw anybody under it, and
it could look at this unless it's here at Anderson's Speedway.
(52:16):
There we go, Okay, what did you just say, Ethan?
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Break when you can We can't here, We're going right,
we can't.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
Well, here's a role all right, Ethan, what about this?
What about this? We uh, we just do the show,
add up all the commercials, and then.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
Place solid for that's what it sounds like at the
end of the hour anyway, So we gotta be careful.
Speaker 2 (52:45):
All right, we're here at uh ran out of time
to promote myself. I'll do that when I come back.
We're here at Anderson Speedway. Please come by. Denny's uh
jet copter is here? What do you call gyro copter?
You can?
Speaker 4 (52:58):
Can people sit in it or just take their picture.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
I'll get a minute if he'll decide if it looks
like it's somebody he likes, he'll let you get in there. Right,
but you get your photo and kind of check out.
It is kind of cool. I will say, it is
kind of cool to see it. I would never go
up in it because things like that scare me, but
you may want to.
Speaker 4 (53:19):
All right, We're coming right back. Ninety three w IBC.
Speaker 23 (53:24):
I've been rolling around looking down it all. Lassie painted
face is the place as I can read, you know somebody?
Speaker 3 (53:44):
All right, Pat, it's time to yourself promoting.
Speaker 4 (53:46):
Oh, Denny, No, it's this is about Rick Dawson and Anderson.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
But I want to learn about Pumpkintown. I want to
learn about the grill Pale and I want and this
and the tree special, Oh, the trees and shrub. If
you're gonna make me, he doesn't pay you enough.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
Pumpkintown tickets are on sale now. Went on sale yesterday
at four o'clock. They sold twenty four hundred tickets in
the first sixty minutes.
Speaker 6 (54:12):
Wow, that's great.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
How much is a ticket for the car?
Speaker 6 (54:15):
Sixty five to seventy, sixty.
Speaker 4 (54:17):
Five to seventy for the whole family?
Speaker 3 (54:19):
Okay, got it.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
You've always told how many people can you get in there?
And it's like, well, you know, we always give an
estimate of fun on average or adults and a couple
of kids. But really knock yourself out, that's what you'd
like to say. But the ride is about fifteen minutes
to Pumpkintown. It's really cool. Lots of tunnels, you.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
Have to see about how many people, Like we used
to see how many kids we could get in a
phone booth.
Speaker 4 (54:42):
I mean, there's no crazy how many people people will
put in those cars.
Speaker 6 (54:46):
The cool thing about Pumpkintown is too, Once you get
to Pumpkintown you can stay as long as you guys want.
Speaker 4 (54:51):
I mean there's a hay Run Drink.
Speaker 6 (54:54):
Hey Bail play ground area which a lot of younger
kids really like.
Speaker 4 (54:58):
For kids, and we have the tree magicians are great.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
Yeah uh.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
And then there's trick or treat doors where you get
little kids go and they knock on the door and
that's fun. And for the older kids there's there's games
like the carnival games. Carnival games where you get their
tokens and all that.
Speaker 6 (55:11):
Oh, but there's really good snacks too.
Speaker 2 (55:14):
And the most common question from dads is can my
kid get out of here? And we go Nope, they
can't get out here. They go, okay, good, and then
they go get a mirror. Yeah, fenced in, they can't leave.
I wanted to mention also the deals.
Speaker 3 (55:31):
What's the number one question from mothers?
Speaker 4 (55:34):
Mom said that there's no question, they're all it's all statements.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
Dads just want to get suggestions.
Speaker 4 (55:40):
Question suggestion At our stores, we have all of our
Weber grills are twenty percent off. Wow, twenty percent off
because we have to clear them out because we got
dumped by Weber when they got in bed with Ace
Evil Empires.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
Sounds like the Nasty breakoup.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
Well, we've only sold Weber grills for about fifty years.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
Why don't there's the same way. You can't sell them
we can.
Speaker 4 (56:03):
If we buy them from Ace Ace Hardware. We'd have
to buy them through.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
Our competition because Hardware bought them.
Speaker 4 (56:10):
No, they just got in bed with them and made
an exclusive deal, wrote them a check and stuff.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
I didn't know there was such exclusivity.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
I know in the world of grill you'll still be
able to five in the box stores, which is where
I would recommend you.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
Buy little Keep talking about yourself, I'm starting.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
But anyway, is that Chinese junk?
Speaker 1 (56:32):
Oh? Wow?
Speaker 6 (56:36):
In stock at Sullivan's.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
Yeah, twenty percent off that Chinese jump?
Speaker 3 (56:39):
All right, tell me about these trees. I saw this thing.
You're going to have a tree special or bush special?
Speaker 2 (56:44):
Yeah, tree, shrubs or bush And what you say is
all twenty percent off along with perennials. And then we
have a big fuel sale because the big grilling weekend,
and we haven't had very many good grilliing weekends.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Like fourteen dollars a can, seventeen dollars, eighteen dollars for
pro paane. Now there that's a deal.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
Big green egg charcoal twenty dollars. All the pellets for pellets,
smokers are sixteen dollars for any of the eighteen pound bags.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
I thought they were twenty pound bags.
Speaker 4 (57:13):
No, that's how they kept the price the same. Maybe
it took them from it is.
Speaker 6 (57:17):
That is so true. I feel like every every food
company everything does it now.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Scott used to have a three pound bag of grass
et as two point six.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
Now a shrink it's a shrink flation.
Speaker 4 (57:29):
Shrink flation.
Speaker 3 (57:30):
That's right. Absolutely, Well, thanks for talking about yourself.
Speaker 4 (57:33):
And now I don't forget patio furniture. Now is the
time all the tense sale is going on, because we've
got Christmas trees in stock.
Speaker 6 (57:41):
One more thing. Yes, next week will be at Sullivan's
for Mumfest.
Speaker 1 (57:45):
Oh that's what we always love, Mumfest. Already we can
get them.
Speaker 6 (57:49):
Five dollars moms.
Speaker 1 (57:50):
Yeah, six dollars are all the colors five dollars.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
If it's there a hot color that share them, Yes,
there is.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
What's a hot color doll of the Year for mums
is uh it is orange?
Speaker 1 (58:03):
No, No it's not. You just said you look, you
just made that up.
Speaker 4 (58:07):
No, last year's we will have Miss Orange Mom will
be there and she will lead.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
Miss Orange Mom. You mean, like she's like the princess
of the mums and she's gonna sash.
Speaker 4 (58:17):
And and what she will do when the gates.
Speaker 3 (58:19):
Open, She's going to be here for the trailer, will lead.
Speaker 4 (58:22):
The flock into the mumfield.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Yeah, with a will she have a flute?
Speaker 4 (58:29):
Maybe? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Well, I mean I don't know if you'll hear it
over because the bagpipers are right behind her. We go
and everyone app everyone goes and they marched to the
mumfield where the six dollar moms.
Speaker 6 (58:43):
Are march or rush you know.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Yeah, I love that idea. That's new this year.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
Yeah, it is new.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
That's so great. Where'd she come from?
Speaker 2 (58:51):
Well from the International Mom Princess Mum program And there's
that right, there's scholarship. Yeah, it's all something President Trump did.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
So he's the best, well you know he did. He's
got experience. He's run though. What what was it? You've
missed us?
Speaker 4 (59:06):
A right? Oh yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
He had his own pageant.
Speaker 4 (59:08):
Yeah, so he had he had a warehouse full of stuff.
Speaker 1 (59:11):
Left over, sashes, crowds. So so I'm so excited about that.
What time will that happen? When she marches?
Speaker 4 (59:20):
You know what? That is going to be right as
we open, so to be eight o'clock.
Speaker 3 (59:24):
Okay, but and she disappears like affair it is.
Speaker 4 (59:27):
You don't have to be there right away because they
they actually marched through the plumbing and electrical departments before
heading to the field of actually want that because a
lot of times with moms it's you know, we have
we have customers of all ages, but for the older people,
we stop at the bathrooms and there's a little.
Speaker 3 (59:47):
Is there any limit on the on the moms? How many?
Speaker 4 (59:50):
Only your imagination? Yeah? Okay, and your vehicle?
Speaker 3 (59:53):
And Allison said five dollars, You said six dollars.
Speaker 6 (59:55):
I said six dollars. I don't know where you got
five dollars from?
Speaker 4 (59:58):
Dollars?
Speaker 6 (59:59):
I said six.
Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
I just hope Okay, I'll crawl under the bus for we.
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Will, boy, proven that is just to play it back, really,
I mean everything, everything's out there the.
Speaker 6 (01:00:10):
One who edits the show?
Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
Okay, did we get everything?
Speaker 5 (01:00:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:00:13):
We did?
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Time for our break so it is, yeah, and then
we're going to come back and talk about.
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
The speedway we got. Thomas wants to talk about smoking
weed and uh, I can't tell Els. I haven't screen
the other one yet. All right? Two three, three ninety three?
Is there anything else you guys want to say before.
Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
We about you?
Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Take?
Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
There's a lot of things I want to say, but
it's not yet out here.
Speaker 6 (01:00:36):
It's nice come and visit us.
Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
I just feel like I've left out something important.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (01:00:41):
Really, Okay, the spot you're making a half more hours.
Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
They're making a documentary about Jersey Johnny.
Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
Oh they are?
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Isn't that cool? Yeah? Mike Jansen is his name? It
sounds familiar. Didn't he isn't he? Wasn't he the p
A guy?
Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
P A guy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
He's doing a documentary about john Mike was.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
A couple of years younger than me. A shittard. I
didn't know that it's a trojan?
Speaker 6 (01:01:05):
So does he? Is he doing this independently?
Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
We're going to talk about you later. Rick we're trying here.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
But yeah, and you know what, Mike is also doing
a doctorate documentary.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
About you, about Rick really the owner, and he doesn't
he doesn't know it yet, but I think after a
couple of beers he'll time to move.
Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
All right, We're coming right back our number two three
nine ninety three, ninety three. We are here at the
Anderson Speedway. We hope you can come by. You'll be
able to take a photo with Denny's flying lawnmower.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
You've got to see this saying, and he will be
taking off at twelve forty five from will Be.
Speaker 6 (01:01:44):
Which I spook live. But I think it'd be fun
to have some listeners out here and watching themselves.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
Quite honestly, he took his headsets off. I'm scared to
death about those wires out.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
He'll be fine. He loves that challenge.
Speaker 5 (01:01:56):
He's going that a way this way well I know
when will probably pick him up and blow him away.
Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
It's gonna have a twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
Mile wires everywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
I know it.
Speaker 6 (01:02:06):
So it makes it part of the fun.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
He love, I mean, he really loves that party.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
All right, come on out, you can watch this all right,
coming right back ninety three WIBC.
Speaker 24 (01:02:15):
Underleathing, Neon light Engines, Roar Tonight's the Night legis Spirit Sore.
Speaker 14 (01:02:24):
And Anderson's Speedway.
Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
With the thrusing night Going then reverse. So what a
while ride.
Speaker 8 (01:02:33):
Spinning leather tires, game, crashing through the kows another dream.
Speaker 15 (01:02:41):
Will lover out about They'll take the chance.
Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
At the Night of Bruise.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
We're lost in.
Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
The dish, ciced to me so I can get it
to Rick.
Speaker 25 (01:02:51):
Okay said, we're racing hot.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Lapping through the spims. This is where it's dogs with.
Speaker 12 (01:03:01):
Then we're breaking the arm in this reckless night together
the stress.
Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
There you go, Speedway. We'll send that to you.
Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
Then produced it.
Speaker 6 (01:03:17):
I sang it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
Yeah, that comes with the package. We worked on that
all week.
Speaker 6 (01:03:21):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
Is really good, really good. You really We love the
songs you put together. They are so right on.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
No, but AI just still creeps me out a little bit.
I mean it's really cool.
Speaker 6 (01:03:38):
It's cool some aspects, it's creepy.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Example, for in the Grill Palace at our Key Soun
location that's now opened, my son Joe. We're selling outdoor
kitchens right, so they're kind of in their own little building.
You'll see it when you get there. But uh so
we wanted to decorate those, right. We had the kitchen
to put in. We wanted to decorate them. And of
our decorators, Marty was going to help Joe. Well, Joe
(01:04:04):
takes the photo, puts it through AI and then gets
this beautiful picture and he's just hanging stuff on the walls.
I showed it to Marty. She goes, oh my.
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
Gosh, and it's amazing, terrifying, it's terrifying, and you know
what's with that soul? And it is helpful with that song?
Another data centers combination. And that's the thing, you know,
we love. We a lot of us really like what
AI is doing in so many areas, right, But to
continue on, they have to build data centers, right, and
(01:04:36):
then we know and none of us want them. You
don't want your data center in our backyards, right. I mean,
everybody in Indiana is fighting this, really really had They
take up farmland, but they take up water, they take
up energy. They bring fifty employees with them, so it's
not like you know, they're hiring everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
We talked about this on the first day. Pat He
used to say that we could double our knowledge every
hundred years with AI, because it's a language model, we
are doubling human knowledge every twelve hours.
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
I don't think we're I don't think we're doubling any
of the knowledge of humans. I think their AI is
giving us answers. But it does it Does that make
us any smarter?
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:05:17):
It doesn't make us lazier?
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Yes? Yeah, well no, I don't know. I'm asking think
about the genome. You know, they said it would take
us decades to figure out the human genome. They've shortened
that down substantially because it processes all the data for
analysis so quickly.
Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
You know what scares me the most about AI that
there's no say I'm going to live for a long time.
I want to get the hell out of here. Right.
Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
AI can't replace them.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
It'll just be what Rick Anderson's speedway.
Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
It can't.
Speaker 6 (01:05:50):
It can't replace racing.
Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
Okay, Allison, what percentage of our electrical usage in the
United States is taken up by AI right now?
Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
Eighteen?
Speaker 6 (01:06:00):
Now, Oh, that's a good guest.
Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
When you say stuff with confidence, people believe you. I did.
Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
It's actually twelve, but it's increasing so much so it could.
Speaker 4 (01:06:08):
Be us close. Yeah, he put prices right, rules I
would have lost. Uh you know what.
Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Thomas joins us on the program and he is trying
to grow weed in his backyard.
Speaker 4 (01:06:17):
Hey Thomas, Hey, guys, how you doing. We're doing well,
thank you. What's about?
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
What are you on a speakerphone? Thomas? Can you pick
up the phone?
Speaker 4 (01:06:32):
I think he's on a submar Okay, there you are. Hi,
Hi Thomas?
Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
Is that better?
Speaker 4 (01:06:39):
Oh? Way better now? It air really makes you sound
more manly to yeah. Oh well, you know what I
was thinking. First? I was thinking, who is this weasel?
And now I'm like, wow, right, the.
Speaker 11 (01:06:55):
Shots are worth up. Hey in Piltray about what's described
as palmer amorant. I heard you guys talk on a
couple of shows ago a bit. They you know, you
have a good weed when they have to invent a
new herb beside to take care of it. Is there
anything I can spray on this to get rid of it?
Speaker 4 (01:07:17):
What was the name of the weed?
Speaker 11 (01:07:19):
It's called per my little ai app. I took a
picture of it. They described as palmer amoran. It's also called.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
A right is.
Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
A grassy weed like a like a noxious grass.
Speaker 11 (01:07:36):
It's it's almost like a bush that comes up it's
very ce d and they're calling you in the basic
weed the palmer A M A R A N T H.
Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
And this is coming up in the lawn or in
the garden, garden.
Speaker 11 (01:07:53):
Around my outbuildings. Okay, but when I cook, so you've
not noticed, So.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
You can use a non selective killer. What have you
tried to use already?
Speaker 11 (01:08:05):
I've tried RM forty three.
Speaker 4 (01:08:09):
I'm not familiar with that. What kind of a oh wow, RM?
Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
I see in these? Well, what have you tried? Have
you tried just two four D or speed zone? Have
you tried any of those?
Speaker 11 (01:08:22):
I have not.
Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
This is uh all right, I think that's.
Speaker 11 (01:08:25):
Where i'd start two four D.
Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
It's definitely not a grass we finally Allison's called it
up on our screen so we can see what it is.
I think it would be one of the three in
a carfinisone two four D.
Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Yeah, but you know what, if he doesn't have any
desirables in there, why wouldn't you just go to try
clip here or something like that. So I would try
one of the brush killers first, uh. And what I
would do is I would mix it with a little
bit of dawn soap. Great, because I can't really tell
from the photo if it's a waxy leaf or not
(01:08:59):
be that, because that could be the problem that you're
having with the weed killers that it's rolling off.
Speaker 11 (01:09:05):
The stuff I'm using is it's described as a total
vegetation control, and to me that just kills everything. But
this is just laughing at it.
Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
Yeah, no way, I don't know what the chemical is
in that, do you Well?
Speaker 11 (01:09:18):
It's for three percent how you pronounce it, glile fast fight.
Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
Yes, yeah, so that's just that's round up.
Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
Well, round up, This round up kills everything.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
Yeah, but what I would use is a go get
a brush killer. Get a brush killer, and that'll do
a better job.
Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
Now, don't listen to those.
Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
Actually there's actually a round up labeled product with a
yellow handle or something that is their brush killer.
Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
That's really good. But there's just look for brush killer.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Yeah, and don't listen to people like Dick Crumb who
said to put fuel oil in there. That's not that's
not something we do just I know.
Speaker 11 (01:09:57):
But it helps that that's my next step.
Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
So yeah, I'm sorry, Hey, I had good luck. Do
you know what a big propane torch is that you
can just burn it out? How much of it is there.
Speaker 11 (01:10:12):
Uh, there's probably eighty feet of it around my shop
and I have tried that with a small propane torch.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
But yeah, that's I hit with that underneath the solar panel.
Speaker 5 (01:10:22):
Okay, everything went really well.
Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
I was kind of reading.
Speaker 6 (01:10:29):
I was reading into this weed and it says it
is herbicide resistant, including glyfe essay the active ingredient, and
round up. This means that common herbicides are no longer effective,
making this harder to control.
Speaker 4 (01:10:43):
All right, so do you killer with fuel oil? Don't
do that?
Speaker 6 (01:10:49):
No, no, no, but yeah, that's so that's why it's
not working.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
That seems well, but he's done it. Yeah, but he's right.
But he said he did it with a small Well yeah,
it's but you.
Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Can actually buy you know, a torch hook to a
twenty pound tank that's a.
Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
Weed and then you burn just the top layer at
the top of it to the soil and then so
nothing underneath it though gets burned. It's roots.
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
Well, you hope that it's a Then you just keep
hitting it and you wear it out.
Speaker 13 (01:11:19):
Until it's gone.
Speaker 6 (01:11:22):
Truly, this is like a very annoying thing. I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:11:26):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
Two three ninety three ninety three more of your calls
when we return to the Anderson Speedway. The gates open
at four o'clock today. This is fun, fun racing, so
your kids will absolutely love this, whether it's the trailer race,
which is the feature, the cars driving backwards.
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
I was bringing sixteen and seventeen eighteen year old kids.
Tell him to bring dad's car and wow and just
have a demo.
Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
You know, what would be really fun would be if
you if you actually had signed up entered into one
of the races, and then you just bring your is
and then all of a sudden, Dad drives a car
out onto the trap.
Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
Oh my gosh, the kids are so crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Yeah, that's got Chase written all over.
Speaker 4 (01:12:09):
We're coming right back ninety three w ib C.
Speaker 13 (01:12:16):
She's a lead.
Speaker 4 (01:12:19):
Talking about and lead.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
And lady is mind.
Speaker 23 (01:12:28):
But she na away, always something nice to say on
a glass.
Speaker 4 (01:12:37):
I can leave.
Speaker 6 (01:12:37):
All alone when she's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
At Anderson Speedway for the Home and Garden. Good morning everyone,
Oh no, no, sorry, And I'm Pat Sullivan. This is my show.
Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
This is Denny Smith over here on the right with
the green Alison Bille shirt on Allison's here talk about
Kenny's Yeah, I got the Flying lawn war here. But
I wanted to introduce Jared Owen, who is the chief
of staff here at the Anderson Speedway, and we just
talked to the boss.
Speaker 4 (01:13:04):
Wait a minute, he smiled, Jared, is not not your title.
Speaker 9 (01:13:07):
It depends on the day, and you asked to. As
long as you say I work here and I still
get a paycheck, I'm all good.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
Yeah, he's being modest.
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
He's chief of staff. He likes kind of a smile.
Staff had bottle cleaner.
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
Jared, what is the official title?
Speaker 9 (01:13:23):
The vice president of operations. Okay, I tell people I
make sure the place doesn't burned down, so it can
be as glamorous as that. But at the end of
the night, I still locked the bathrooms and I still
clean him.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Listen, you do a good job. I've been doing a
lot of tracks. And that's a nice bathroom, truly it is.
And you've got real paper towels, you've got doors on
the stalls.
Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
Wait a minute, that's the lady.
Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
You got to say, lie, the men's is open twenty
four seven. The charm though, I want to report to.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Uh Jared that one of the troughs has a low spot.
Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
And I noticed.
Speaker 3 (01:13:57):
Alright, so explained. This is the world's largest trophy anal
door journal. Yeah, it's seventy five feet of stainless steel.
Speaker 4 (01:14:05):
Just walk in and you're just under the star.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
It's a plumbing night, plumber.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
I will tell you that at the airport they are
starting to control the drones over the top of the
men's room.
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Here at Jared Oen you have a great you have
a great story. You started here as an intern, your
degrees in sports management. You started as an intern. And
Rick all of a sudden, you know, you're a big
guy and goes that kid's got a brain, and he
was so surprised. But really you are the because we're looking.
Speaker 4 (01:14:35):
At you, I wouldn't know you had a brain.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
Well that's what Rick was.
Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
Welcome to my world. He does that hate He'll go,
He'll go, Sullivan's that was a really good answer. I
did not see that coming. So, okay, before we run
out of time, Dan, let's go through what's going on
tonight him the Anderson Speedway.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Yeah, so explain these races to us because you've got
a multi lots of heads here.
Speaker 9 (01:14:57):
Absolutely. So it's our kind of our family fund night,
you could say. I mean, we always joke. You could
put on the best racing in the world, I mean
side by side racing, and it's kind of whatever. This
this night is meant to crash, wreck, roll cars over,
and that's what.
Speaker 4 (01:15:11):
We're gonna do. So something for everybody.
Speaker 9 (01:15:13):
Absolutely. So we've got a grocery getter in Duro. So
what that is is basically what our moms were driving
we were taking us to school twenty years ago. They
got to knock all the glass out of them so
they don't get on the racetrack and they run for
twenty minutes straight and the winner gets a thousand bucks.
Speaker 3 (01:15:27):
Now that doesn't sound like anything what Rick told us.
Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
Now are they? Is it pushy chovy out there?
Speaker 9 (01:15:34):
Absolutely? So last year we had thirty four cars, so
I told them this year my goal's forty. We'll start
them all.
Speaker 6 (01:15:39):
Oh gosh, have that it.
Speaker 9 (01:15:41):
I mean it's a quarter mile big bank tobal so
we always I always tell people nample Smar speedways two
and a half miles, so real big, this is quarter mile. Yeah,
eighteen degrees of banking, so a lot more than ample
Smaar Speedway. And everything's come back compact here, real close.
We got ten thousand seats all the way around.
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
So they're just really they're just in a long, shriny
side by side. Or is everybody you got to you've
got that many cars all at a long train coming around.
Oh my gosh, let's.
Speaker 9 (01:16:06):
Got to start on side, probably too wide. If we
get to me, we'll start them three wide. And the
best thing is on the first coupleps they don't wreck
because there's so many. They just are like pinballs. They
just kind of hit off each other.
Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
It's brilliant.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Do they have a practice session or some of these
guys just coming and seeing this truck for the very
first time.
Speaker 9 (01:16:24):
So there's zero practice today. So I was actually typing
the schedule. I gut here this morning, and so normally
you open the pits early and they come in, they'll
practice and qualify. Well, today we don't do any of that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
So we'll run coming, We'll run all the cars.
Speaker 9 (01:16:37):
We'll run all the cars over to start finished line
to make sure that their transponders are electronic scorings working
for us, and then we'll go racing at seven o'clock
for the fans. So, uh, we're pulling one out of
NASCAR's book.
Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
You knock the glass out of the cars.
Speaker 9 (01:16:49):
Yep, no glass and so it's really about I mean,
there's no performance advantage. It's all about safety for the drivers.
I mean, we wanted to be safe, but it's kind
of go to the junkyard to get a car and
come race. So they're all four cylinder cars. It's a
lot of fun, all right. What's next after the So
we do a switchback race, which we've never done here before.
There's a couple of tracks in North Indiana that kind
of specialize that, say and doing this type of racing.
(01:17:11):
So luckily with the YouTube and internet nowadays, I just
got on there. And so it's a switch So they're
going to drive. They're gonna put the car and reverse
for three laps. When they come to start finish line,
they will switch back, so they'll turn it and then
they'll go forward for three louts.
Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
Turn on the track.
Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
How many cars are going to be in that?
Speaker 13 (01:17:26):
So?
Speaker 9 (01:17:26):
I think ten?
Speaker 4 (01:17:27):
Ok?
Speaker 9 (01:17:27):
I think I think we need to limit it. The video,
the videos I watched going in the turn one, it's
pretty hysterical. I think I need to make sure I
tell my track crew, Hey, guys, make sure you're I
don't know where these cars are going to end up.
Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
So did you study this and did they have a
course in school of sports management of switchback racing?
Speaker 9 (01:17:44):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (01:17:48):
Market what's next?
Speaker 9 (01:17:49):
So we do a poll race. There's a couple of
different names for us. But we put a big tractor
tire in the track and they gotta so they'll be
racing and they'll have to go all the way around
the tire, so they'll be running full board. They don't
have to basically stop, go around us tire and keep going.
Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
All right, So let's just jump because we just have
just a minute left to the feature.
Speaker 4 (01:18:06):
What everybody comes for the.
Speaker 9 (01:18:08):
Prairie Farms trailer race. That's that's it. So they'll hook
a trailer to the back of their car, go for
ten laps and the winner and when.
Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
Will guys be actively trying to knock trailers off?
Speaker 9 (01:18:20):
Trailer comes off, you're off the track. So I saw
a ski. I saw a ski. Do back there this morning.
There'll be campers that come in, they'll be boats, We'll
have a little bit of everything there.
Speaker 3 (01:18:31):
Sounds like shared Owen, the vice president of operation.
Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
It's open at four o'clock. You can buy tickets online
or the box office. I think is open here in
a few minutes. If it's not already open, all right,
our number three is coming up. Come out and join
us here in Anderson right here on ninety three WYBC.
Speaker 4 (01:18:58):
Some books see.
Speaker 19 (01:19:00):
Grown up men, those stud just little boys. Really, the
only difference is the price of our cars. We go
for macho symbols like guns, running shoes, big up trucks, hun.
Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Ducks and power dudes, power to.
Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
Power to.
Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
He just gloving in the wall and big a all
you to do.
Speaker 24 (01:19:28):
You can plan of garden, fix your car, member house.
Speaker 26 (01:19:31):
If you want to, if you pick the body, welcome back,
power up, the degree of Saturday's Home and Garden program,
rushing part by the Micheless Corporation, water storms, firing, wet basements.
Speaker 6 (01:19:42):
Life happensche happens to help you through it.
Speaker 4 (01:19:48):
It it doesn't really, it doesn't work.
Speaker 2 (01:19:51):
I think with Ethan and I we have such I
think that's sounded like a bunch of kids trying to
learn how to speak English.
Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
Wealth. Would you guys have a mesm?
Speaker 4 (01:20:00):
Well, I really we really lock on?
Speaker 1 (01:20:04):
You do you're looking at right right through each other?
Speaker 4 (01:20:07):
Alison. I think you and I were fine. I think
it's when the other two chimed in.
Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
Wow, I didn't say a word. Show.
Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
Yeah it is uh, and you are just renting space here. Uh.
Dane joined us on the program.
Speaker 27 (01:20:22):
I Dane, Hello, I have a important question about my decks,
my outdoor decks. I need some replacement on the boards.
Do you have a repair carpenter that does that.
Speaker 12 (01:20:40):
Kind of work?
Speaker 27 (01:20:42):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
You know what, Dane, Thanks for the call. Depending on
where you live, there is UH. I mean Michelis would
be one source for that. They have UH, and then
some guys have handyman services. Den go ahead and give
out one.
Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
You know, I don't know any pat, I just know
you and you can if you.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
Would call our seventy first and Keystone store, we have
like a little list of handymen. And I would think
that that because I think if you if you call
a deck building company, you're going to get the run
around because they want to build new decks. But if
you get a handyman, I think that would be the
way to go. So if you would call and or
(01:21:23):
if you stop in a lot of times people just
walk up the list and they take a photo of it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
We could not Michelle Les do something like that. They
do a lot of this time.
Speaker 4 (01:21:33):
Thanks for listening, because I know my head says, why
this is why it's my show. Okay, it's things like.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
That, Alison. We're in the third hour. We're in the
third hour, Allison. Yes, yeah, pretty handy dude. How about
the pretty handy dude down at the bottom there.
Speaker 4 (01:21:50):
Buddy ed So there it is. I'm not sure is
he still? Is he still working?
Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
I don't know what Pat just said, is he still?
Speaker 6 (01:21:59):
I will say, though this actually public surpretensement. If you
do have anyone who's good handyman's, will you just send
it to our Facebook page because I would love to
start making a list, because people do ask a list
and Andrew's.
Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
List, make it a home and garden list.
Speaker 6 (01:22:14):
But yeah, especially specifically handyman's because.
Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
The people that are advertising they're generally bigger companies, and
they're not.
Speaker 6 (01:22:20):
It's these little jobs. We have people at the store
calling all the time too, So people.
Speaker 1 (01:22:24):
I mean, people really look for handymen and they're just
under our handy people.
Speaker 6 (01:22:29):
You can also text us at our phone number three
one seven two three nine ninety three ninety three, and yeah,
I think we're going to make a little list because
I think that would be darey say, handy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Ladies, you're not going to believe this, but Scott Fraser
just walked in or Fraser Decking. This is his business,
is here?
Speaker 4 (01:22:42):

Speaker 3 (01:22:57):

theme of the company, Fraser Decking. That's all they do?
Speaker 4 (01:23:03):

Speaker 3 (01:23:05):
Seven six' five seven one seven zero eight nine. Seven
that's either the phone number or the power ball for?
Tonight oh power?
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
Ball is it still not like a?
Speaker 1 (01:23:18):
Billion it's a?
Speaker 9 (01:23:19):

Speaker 6 (01:23:20):

(01:29:00):
actually ended up they, uh he was diagnosed with, whiplash
with Whiplash mama from this from his noggin moving too.
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
Fast did he was able to perform or was that
just he?
Speaker 4 (01:29:13):
DID i think he said he did do the. Show
so then LATER i asked, him, so how much ownership
do you have in that particular, healium BECAUSE i would
think that you, know, yeah, right, yeah that's.
Speaker 1 (01:29:24):
Kind of Comedians dave AND i think you can attest.
This the more things that happened to, you the better
the show is always going to be the next, day,
right because now you've got a whole new. Thing, yeah
a whole new. Storyline, yeah a whole lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:29:38):
Hell.
Speaker 12 (01:29:38):
Yeah, yeah there's there's oftentimes that's happened where you, know
you've been stopped by a policeman and you talk about
that or you have you, know there's there's there's a
drive you take the jokes from your, life and the
more you're out and about doing, stuff the better it.
Is i've done jokes WHERE i don't feel. GOOD i.
HAD i was At, Lansing michigan one time and was
(01:30:00):
so SICK i could barely. Move AND i just stood
against the back wall and held on to the mic
staff and the mic stand and told my jokes and
did my, show and thankfully the crowd was. Great AND
i don't know that they ever really realized. IT i
think they just thought this guy's a stationary. Idiot BUT
i was so SICK i could barely in between. SHOWS
(01:30:22):
i went back in the green room and fell asleep
and had to wake me up and drag me on stage.
Again AND i was so sick the next DAY i
couldn't drive. HOME i had to stay in the apartment
UNTIL i got the day BEFORE i could actually drive.
Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
Home, Now, DAVE i think it's pretty, wide pretty known
widely that you guys all take drugs before the. Show
is it possible that you had gotten bad drugs from
the from the?
Speaker 4 (01:30:45):
Uh, yeah because it's my H.
Speaker 12 (01:30:50):
Yeah, NO i never drank before going on a. SHOW
i NEVER i never did any drugs.
Speaker 4 (01:30:56):
ANYWAY i MEAN i.
Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Just, Okay so that's Probably, dave why you never got annational.
Speaker 4 (01:31:00):
Show that might be that might be the whole.
Speaker 12 (01:31:03):
Thing eislode was holding me.
Speaker 4 (01:31:04):
Back that's WHY i Never that's Why Jay leno Is
Jay leno And Dave wilson Is Dave. Wilson.
Speaker 12 (01:31:09):
Huh you, know, Well lenno never, drank never drank at. All,
really he never drank alcohol. Ever and, UH i MEAN
i spent enough time with him WHERE i would have
seen or heard, That but but, no he never did stop.
THERE i, NEVER i never. DID i never even tried
cocaine BECAUSE i have a hard enough time saying no to.
Cookies so, YEAH i didn't want. IT i know THAT
(01:31:35):
i could say no to an addictive drug like, that so,
No BUT i know there were some comics that could
drink and drink and drink and go on with any.
PROBLEMS I i'll say this, Now John, fox who is deceased,
Now and, uh BUT i worked with him one night In,
nashville and after the show he left the club with
(01:31:57):
these four women and then even me in the other.
Act we went back to the apartment where we all,
stayed and we sat up and Watched letterman or whatever
comics do you know at? Night and then we go to.
Bed we get up the next morning And fox isn't back,
yet and so we got up and went. Out you
know what comics. Do you get up in the middle
of the morning and you go to the mall and
(01:32:18):
you walk, around you have. Lunch we got home around
one o'clock in the. Afternoon fox still isn't. Back, finally
about two, thirty a cab pulls. Up fox comes. Out
they pour him out of the. Cab he comes stumbling
into the apartment and just goes straight back into the
bedroom where he's staying and collapses on the bed with
all the clothes. On that was around two. Thirty, well
(01:32:40):
the show is at eight, thirty so about quarter to
eight we wake him. Up he gets, up puts on
a new, shirt gets in the back of the. Car
we drive him to the. Club he falls asleep in the.
Car we put him in the green. Room he falls
asleep in the green. Room GETS i wake him up
about ten minutes before he's supposed to go. On he gets,
up walk to the bar odors three fingers Of doers.
(01:33:03):
STARTS i know this guy hasn't editing to eat since
before two o'clock, anyway and it starts drinking, doers walks
on stage and does the show like nothing was, ever
like it was, Perfect it was, unbelievable just a.
Speaker 4 (01:33:19):
Number and this is why mamas don't want their kids
to grow up to be stand up. Comics, yeah, exactly
there you. Go, sorry painful, Memory.

Know, hey good, morning. Welcome we.
Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
Are here At Anderson. Speedway the gates open at four.
O'clock a great evening of. Racing the weather looks absolutely.
Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
Beautiful we're gonna talk To jared, here who is THE
cfo vice president of operations and part.
Speaker 6 (01:34:51):
Owner the title changes, constantly.
Speaker 4 (01:34:53):
Yep but First marvin has a question For. Jared Hey,
marvin it's about LONG. Ti, hello, Hey.
Speaker 20 (01:35:02):
Marvin, Yeah i'm legally, blind and early this SPRING i
over fertilized by lawn BECAUSE i couldn't see how MUCH.
Speaker 28 (01:35:13):
I was putting.
Speaker 25 (01:35:14):
Down SO i kept opening the thing and putting more
and more, down and Come july.
Speaker 12 (01:35:20):
The hot, weather it.
Speaker 25 (01:35:21):
Burned So i've got a, green brown. Lawn AND i
was wondering if there's ANYTHING i should do to correct
it now in the, fall overset or, whatever or wait
till next. Spring what's the best?
Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
Procedure, well, really the best time to plant grass seed
probably is in the fall because the grass doesn't have
very much, stress and as the weather gets a little,
cooler the ground stays, warmer so the grass continues to develop.
Roots so the rule of thumb That Dick crumb always
had was if the spot in your lawn is bigger
(01:35:58):
than the palm of your, hand then you need to.
Recede if it's you, know if it's a bunch of
spots that are smaller than the palm of your. Hand then,
fertilizer the proper amount of fertilizer will will close those
up by regrowing.
Speaker 4 (01:36:13):
And rhizomes that will fill it.
Speaker 2 (01:36:14):
Up but if you have big, spots then you are
going to have To AND i would say if you
have a lot of spots and they're, big THEN i
would probably have someone help you get a slice seedar
to plant the.
Speaker 4 (01:36:28):
Seed two Things.
Speaker 25 (01:36:31):
I've been thinking. ABOUT i don't know If i'm thinking.
RIGHT i do have a spike, errator And i've heard
that pete mos might help. Too do you think an
aerrator and pete most might help my?
Speaker 4 (01:36:44):
Overseeding, well the problem with a spike aerrator when you do,
aerration you want to pull a core of dirt, out
and those spike ones actually just com you, know they
can pact the, soil which isn't. Good so so really
those those, spikes unless it's one that actually pulls out
(01:37:04):
a core that then flops to the, grounds it's probably
not what you want to. Use peat moss is. Excellent
after you, know to prepare the, soil you'd loosen the,
soil you'd plant your grass, seed you'd put a starter
fertilizer down and then you would cover it with a
with a layer of peat, moss just about a quarter
(01:37:25):
inch thick of peat. Moss and then that the peat
moss holds the moisture and that would take the place of,
straw which is kind of a bit of a nightmare to.
Speaker 25 (01:37:36):
Me, GREAT i THINK i got a.
Speaker 4 (01:37:40):
Plan all, Right, marvin call, anytime.
Speaker 20 (01:37:43):
Okay thank, you bye, bye all, right see you and.
Speaker 1 (01:37:47):
Fall when you say, fall when is a fall time
that you would really doat?
Speaker 4 (01:37:50):
That you need to get the seed planted by about
the third week Of.
Speaker 1 (01:37:53):
September, okay so coming up pretty.
Speaker 4 (01:37:55):
Soon jared joins us on the. PROGRAM i had to
kind of cover you. There you didn't really seem LIKE
i was waiting for you to jump in there to
Help marvin.

Speaker 9 (01:39:06):
BETWEEN i had the two best race tracks in the
world between me So Now Anderson.
Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
Speedway but you kind of absorb, it even though if you.
Weren't you, KNOW i just, think like all of, us
it's like we know. Racing but even if you're not
a die hard, fan you know enough about it just
because it's. Everywhere, yeah, yeah so you. Do so eleven
years here now did you where do where do you live?
Speaker 4 (01:39:27):
Now.
Speaker 9 (01:39:27):
SOMEWHERE i live In Piddleton's, suggestion just south of, here
so just a couple close enough to, them close to,
track but not too.
Speaker 1 (01:39:34):
Close what are you doing the?
Speaker 9 (01:39:35):
Winter so that's the number one question we. Get So
august And september are probably actually the slowest months for
us a. Year starting here mid Through september all the
way Through christmas will be our busiest time of year
because you're planning for the next race. Season so it's,
sponsorship it's planning our. Schedule we have twenty five races a.
Year we also own another racing series that has ten,
(01:39:57):
races so we we we stay pretty. Active so we're
kind of this past couple weeks have been really nice
for us. Here it's just kind of completing what we
already have already, had so completing.
Speaker 4 (01:40:06):
The races that are already on the. Schedule.
Speaker 9 (01:40:08):
Yep so it's we're not working. Crazy where where races
do you have after? Today so we have three, more
so we run two In september and then when we
run the first week Of.
Speaker 1 (01:40:17):
October so Now pat is really kind of mean, entrepreneur
kind of FELL i, mean he's an owner of a
business and he's Also he's just really fun to brainstorm.
With so if you were looking ahead to next, Year,
pat is there any tips that you would give to
him about planning the next year at a race.
Speaker 4 (01:40:34):
TRACK i MEAN i would think kind of on THE uh.
Speaker 2 (01:40:38):
And the thing actually in the, racing the product, itself
AND i think we could call it THE uh.
Speaker 3 (01:40:44):
Bucket wait a, minute buckle up.
Speaker 1 (01:40:46):
Here, okay he's, brilliant.
Speaker 4 (01:40:48):
BRILLIANT i would call it the one inch rooping nail five,
hundred where every fan gets a little baggie of roof.
Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
Nails oh, sure because there's that's what you wanted to.
Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
Track there's no run flat on these, things you, know
and then you know certain times then you have to
select the time and the driver that you're trying to take.
Speaker 1 (01:41:06):
Out oh.
Speaker 3 (01:41:11):
They got the. FLATHEAD i like.
Speaker 1 (01:41:12):
That WHEN i thought he'd come up something, Better, jared
BUT i, was you, know off the top of. It
it's not, BAD i, KNOW i, know you're just you

Speaker 6 (01:41:21):

Speaker 4 (01:41:47):
Hour you know, what my dad always, said it's always
bad to take off on the on the half. Hour
so that was a wedding here at twelve fifteen.
Speaker 1 (01:41:55):
That his, weddings isn't it Any it is you shouldn't
be going.
Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
At the, thirty, Right you always want to be looking,
up looking, Up so it is at the half, hour
at the half.
Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Hour so twelve thirty is lucky or not?
Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Lucky, well twelve thirty be, lucky, okay, okay since we're
talking about and at the top of the marriage is
always heard worth the bottom of the, hour so that
if you could your everything's looking going.
Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
Forward, yeah we're always moving for.
Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
Joy will be leaving in the flying lawnmower about twelve.

not if, not he, said between the top and then the,
bottom he thinks he can squeeze.

going to have to dodge. Birds there seems to be
a lot of hawks and geese around.
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
Here the worst ones are the turkey. VULTURES i was
Telling cam earlier that when you're at two thousand feet
or three thousand, feet the birds are below you and
they're looking. Down their whole body's architecture is to look,
down but they will hear, you and their first reaction
is to float up to get away from. It, well
they come right up at you and scarce the.
Speaker 4 (01:44:06):
H do they hit the more, Blade?
Speaker 3 (01:44:08):
No, no if they with the more blade, on, No
if they hit that, blade the tip speed is probably
about six hundred mile an, hour and if if they
got hit by, that they'd kill. Them but it would
also whack the heck out of that, blade AND i
don't know what would happen to.
Speaker 1 (01:44:22):
Me, well you should have a plan for.
Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
That, WELL i do fly higher than the.

THAT i THOUGHT i could take them.
Speaker 4 (01:44:37):

Speaker 3 (01:44:40):

lighter if it was full tanks to glide. Ratio for
every four feet you, go you drop one.
Speaker 4 (01:44:48):
Foot sounds, Scary, No, no it's really.

Race all, Right Jared jeff is on the line for. You, Hey,
jeff he's got a question about.
Speaker 29 (01:47:18):
Grass, Hi, Jeff, YEAH i Thinks, hi thanks for taking my.
CALL i we have large breed dogs AND i needed
to find something to put out in the backyard down
by the creek. Area it's like ninety by forty feet.
Area SO i DECIDED i.
Speaker 18 (01:47:34):
Actually had grass down, there and there's just a mix
of stuff from WHEN i did my riding lawnmower down
there with slide, sideways which wasn't. Good SO i needed
something a little more. Stable but so there's a company
down south Of indiana that Sold tahoma thirty one. BERMUDA
i had them deliver that and had a company clear
(01:47:58):
out the ground level it and install. This what is
the best chair for The tahoma thirty one? BERMUDA i understand.
It it does hold up a little BETTER i was
told for larger breed, dogs and holds up through winter
pretty well as far as.
Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
WELL i, mean it's Just i'm not familiar with that.
Grass i'm familiar with the Old kentucky thirty, one which
ruined a lot of people's.
Speaker 3 (01:48:23):
Lawns this is a bermuda, grass but.
Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
Is it A i guess if it's regular bermuda grass
that will actually live in our, temperatures it would be
kind of pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:48:37):
Cool did you ever think about investing in, chihuahuas you,
know something?
Speaker 1 (01:48:42):
Smaller?
Speaker 18 (01:48:43):
DON'T i don't think greyhounds would put up with.
Speaker 3 (01:48:46):
Them oh.
Speaker 4 (01:48:47):
BOY i normally recommend taking their legs. Together But terry
always gets madd.
Speaker 9 (01:48:54):
With that.
Speaker 3 (01:48:54):
Grass, well it's supposed to hold.
Speaker 18 (01:48:57):
Up it's a different type of a, blend and it's
supposed to hold up better through the winter and kill
and so, forth and recovers faster than regular bermuda like
they have in This.
Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
South what about mulching it out or putting down like
bark or.
Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
Something, well, yeah Because i'm the same. Thing dogs tend
to run one path and they just wear. Out but
that bermuda is an interesting. THOUGHT i, mean IF i
just had an experience With bermuda in Our zone five.
Speaker 4 (01:49:31):
Weather.
Speaker 18 (01:49:33):
Gotcha, yeah you.
Speaker 12 (01:49:34):
KNOW i will tell you.
Speaker 18 (01:49:35):
This it's brown right now BECAUSE i. Was you have
to mow it like twice a week really to get
it down to where you want, it because it grows fairly.
Decent they recommend about two and a half three inches max,
heights but as low as one. Inch SO i took
it down till you, know two. PROGRESSIVELY i didn't want
(01:49:57):
to take off too much of a, time and it's
at a LEVEL i want. Now but it's it's a little,
brown BUT i can definitely see some of the the
leaves starting to come. Up they say it's healthier for
it if it's.
Speaker 12 (01:50:10):
Lower it really is just like a.

Speaker 5 (01:59:38):
Hundred, NO i don't want that money or Well indy.
Speaker 1 (01:59:41):
CAR i should say they've invested with a.
Speaker 5 (01:59:43):
Right, yeah you're going to say a lot more of that.
Somebody oh, uh that company that Bought formula, one they're
a media company and you'll see, it you know after
this NEXT nascar. Contry is it a Good, well it's
just the. TIMES i mean when we started here thirty years,
(02:00:06):
ago we had THE espn come in do THE usex
shows and. Everything but then that kind and they pay
right fees and all that but then that kind of went,
down and now all of a sudden there's a resurgence
in streaming and so and then we've got networks that
do The dirtvision does our little five, hundred which.
Speaker 4 (02:00:25):
Has Big there's just so many media. Outlets there are
so many different ways to get a product to the general.
Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
Public so this this what we see, tonight is that.
Speaker 5 (02:00:34):
Streamed it won't it won't be this one tonight's. NOT
i think they've streamed the fourth Of, july BUT i
couldn't tell you.
Speaker 2 (02:00:41):
Which they don't want to stream this baby tonight because
regulators will be all over this.
Speaker 5 (02:00:47):
PLACE i have to. Police you. Know everybody's got their
own camera in their own. Production now they Got Facebook,
live so you got kind of stuff that is Not
still it's still not like being. Here so we've got that.
Advance this is the.
Speaker 2 (02:01:02):
Day Because rick was telling me this during the break
that his insurance agent starts drinking at. Noon he wants
to be pretty well passed out by the time it gets.
Speaker 1 (02:01:14):
Open, REALLY i didn't.
Speaker 5 (02:01:16):
Know, well, interesting it's my number one priority around here is.
Safety AND i tell the guys in the driver's, meeting you,
know safety is number one around, here and number two
is safety And. No number two is have a good,
time because that's kind of What i'm. About so we
have we try to be as safe as we possibly
can on the track and in the, stands but then
(02:01:38):
it's all about having fun.
Speaker 1 (02:01:39):
Too how long have you owned?
Speaker 5 (02:01:40):
It this is my twenty ninth season about all my?
Speaker 3 (02:01:43):
Life he, said real slow.
Speaker 5 (02:01:44):
Learner, yeah, REALLY i got it WHEN i was five years.
Speaker 1 (02:01:47):
Old but it's been.
Speaker 3 (02:01:48):
Here how many years.
Speaker 5 (02:01:50):
The track's been?
Speaker 4 (02:01:50):
Here Where jared?
Speaker 5 (02:01:52):
Go this is the seventy eighth year of the.
Speaker 1 (02:01:56):
Track, wow that's pretty cool that you maintained it and
you've kept it. Alive so many little tracks.
Speaker 5 (02:02:01):
AREN'T i, know it's. Tough it's. Tough it's like. Anything
it's just like selling hard. WORK i mean you can
only you can only create so many just different kinds
of Multi night's. Changing and that's, right that's what you've.
Done we got and you have to have pat well appreciate.
This older you get the fewer fresh ideas that you,
have so you bring on people that know what they're,
(02:02:23):
doing you, know the elect digital stuff and all.
Speaker 2 (02:02:27):
That, yeah because you ARE i, mean at the heart of,
it it's a, racetrack but you're in the.
Speaker 4 (02:02:32):
Entertainment it's it's.
Speaker 5 (02:02:33):
Entertainer and these guys back in the pits with those,
cars they're they're, entertainers just not any different Than. Hollywood
it's the same. Thing and trying to convince them that
some of them it's their life and it gets pretty.
Serious but if they don't have, FUN i tell them back,
there if you're not having, fun oh you.
Speaker 1 (02:02:50):
Got to have, fun you, Really AND i think like
The Savannah, bananas what they've done and so many these
things live, golf you, know whether you love it or you.
Don't they added these elements that are bringing in the
younger viewers and AS i.
Speaker 4 (02:03:04):
Would love to go to A, savannah but gave me
too now now the indie our stadium is not big.
Speaker 1 (02:03:11):
Enough, no, OKAY i mean it's crazy and, YEAH i
mean it's just came with from an. Idea a guy
and his and his girlfriend and then his wife and they're.
Cool people interviewed. Them he, did it was his.
Speaker 3 (02:03:23):
Idea the girlfriend became as became a wife and.
Speaker 1 (02:03:25):
Then she really she really runs so much of, it
a lot of the fun part of it, too so and, they, uh.
Speaker 4 (02:03:32):
It's kind of funny because they had cameras rolling that
night and you hear a beer open you know what we?
Speaker 1 (02:03:39):
Do, YEAH i, mean it's just it's that's, how that's
how so many of these things. Start just a couple
of guys in a bar or a couple of girls
in a. Bar you, know they have a. Tournament a
butler that just went got done here with bringing back
some of like old who's who's your? Players and, Anyway
and it was a couple of guys sat in the
bar and they were, like you, know we really need
(02:04:00):
a tournament where we bring back all these veteran players
from these different. Colleges and the tournament grew.
Speaker 6 (02:04:06):
INSTANTLY i believe that was the origin story Of Coleslaw
fest as.
Speaker 4 (02:04:09):
Well, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (02:04:10):
Same, thing truly same.
Speaker 4 (02:04:12):
Thing just st do with a little cup Of coleslaw and,
said you, know.
Speaker 3 (02:04:22):
The speaking of, ideas people come out to these. Events
they have no idea what the food's going to be
at the fantastic score mat stuff these tender loins as
because a you, know a quarter Or nicolas.
Speaker 1 (02:04:35):
Tall, steak, fries hot dog is. Fantastic you guys are
all Having when are you having? Chicken no tender lines.
TENDERLOINS i love.
Speaker 6 (02:04:42):
Their tender loins here AND i AM i am a
snob about tender. LOINS i will, say so.
Speaker 3 (02:04:46):
This IS i can't.
Speaker 2 (02:04:47):
Imagine tony joins us on the pro. Con tony's got
a question For, rick and it's about. Bushes all, right go, Ahead, Rick,
hey how are you?
Speaker 9 (02:04:58):
Doing we're doing?
Speaker 13 (02:05:00):
Good?
Speaker 4 (02:05:00):
Thanks?
Speaker 13 (02:05:01):
Great?
Speaker 5 (02:05:01):
Great.
Speaker 32 (02:05:02):
HEY i have three rows of sharon bushes that have
just gone. Crazy they're like eight nine feet, tall AND
i want to cut them.
Speaker 5 (02:05:11):
Down.
Speaker 32 (02:05:12):
Now does do the blooms bloom on old or new?
Wood and CAN i just chop them.
Speaker 33 (02:05:17):
Off at the.
Speaker 4 (02:05:18):
Top you can just chop those off the top and
they bloom on new.
Speaker 3 (02:05:21):
Wood you can't kill.
Speaker 1 (02:05:23):
Them, No i've thought one that's completely split in, half
completely split in, half and it's still growing like crazy
on both. Sides so you can't. Guess you can kill,
them and if.
Speaker 4 (02:05:34):
You, want you can clean it up in the. Fall
or you can even wait on those and cut them
back in the. Spring so the rule of thumb always
was if it blooms After june the, thirtieth then you
would cut them back in the. Spring but, again you
can clean them up in the. Fall as, well, okay that's.
Speaker 32 (02:05:50):
AWESOME i didn't know IF i would do any damage
IF i cut them.
Speaker 4 (02:05:53):
Off i'm not.
Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
SURE i think you could get douse it in gasoline
and set it on. Fire and, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:06:03):
All, Right, RICK i didn't think your answer was all that.
Speaker 5 (02:06:09):
Good, Well i'm still thinking about. It, ACTUALLY i forgot
what the question was.
Speaker 4 (02:06:15):
Roses.
Speaker 3 (02:06:15):
Sharing oh, yeah are you ready for? Tonight, Golly i'm
ready to.
Speaker 2 (02:06:20):
Go all, Right, rick try this. One debbie has a
question for. You it's about. Trees, Hi, Debbie, Hi, HEY.
Speaker 33 (02:06:29):
I had some trees taken. DOWN i had a huge maple,
tree a pear, tree and THEN i had a stump. Ground,
ANYWAY i have these big dead spots. Now they took
as much most as they. Could what's my next step
going to be to make my yard?
Speaker 27 (02:06:45):
Look?
Speaker 3 (02:06:45):
Okay the thing that when they grind them, out the
nitrogen is in the deficit for at least two years
because the act of my, cts that, is the the
bacteria that's in the ground uses up all that nitrogen
to digest all the. Chips SO i would ADD i
(02:07:07):
would probably double up on the. Nitrogen what do you? Think?
Speaker 4 (02:07:10):
Yeah, absolutely if, so what you desired you desire it.
Speaker 5 (02:07:14):
Just to be.
Speaker 33 (02:07:14):
Lawn, YEAH i just wanted to be.
Speaker 27 (02:07:17):
Lawn.
Speaker 4 (02:07:18):
Okay so the.
Speaker 2 (02:07:20):
Problem that you're gonna have is because all, that there's
still a lot of chip in that, area, correct, yes all,
Right so so as, that As denny, mentioned those chips
are going to start pulling all the, nitrogen and so
you're gonna have a.
Speaker 4 (02:07:34):
Problem you'll you'll.
Speaker 2 (02:07:36):
Want to at least take OUT i don't, know six
eight inches and probably replace it with fill. Dirt but
the problem you're gonna have is everyone does this and
then the grass. Dies and that's because you, know even
though you fertilize, it those chips are just sucking up
all the.
Speaker 4 (02:07:54):
Nitrogen SO i would almost ALMOST i would almost leave
it for leave it for a, year but for a
year if you can stand, it, Okay but go.
Speaker 3 (02:08:03):
Ahead and fertilize it and take some, Nitrogen like what's
the highest powered Nitrogen you can get.
Speaker 4 (02:08:09):
Triple super phosphor trip Super, No, no, no that's that's.
Speaker 3 (02:08:12):
Wrong urea urea would take some, urea which is just
nothing more than dehydrated pig.
Speaker 4 (02:08:18):
Pig p and that'll accelerate, it and.
Speaker 3 (02:08:21):
That gets more nitrogen in, there and it really will
eat up their. Chips what is?
Speaker 6 (02:08:25):
It it's your from the, Pig, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:08:28):
Pig, gosh you, guys the pig is.
Speaker 3 (02:08:30):
Amazing, yeah we didn't embarrass you all these.
Speaker 4 (02:08:34):
Years that's the first time you pulled out pig.
Speaker 5 (02:08:37):
Right in the middle Of allison's.
Speaker 4 (02:08:39):
Bike.
Speaker 6 (02:08:39):
YEAH i was just the middle of lunch, thinking what
do you have in?
Speaker 4 (02:08:42):
This tender?
Speaker 6 (02:08:43):
Lines tenderline out.
Speaker 4 (02:08:45):
Pig everyone knows.
Speaker 3 (02:08:47):
That, thanks, GUYS i Appreciate Thanks, daddy thanks for. Calling.
Bye oh, boy you know.
