Professor Separovic is a biophysical chemist and Foreign Secretary of the Australia Academy of Science. Following a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (USA), Frances joined the University of Melbourne in 1996, becoming the first woman Professor of Chemistry and Head of School. Professor Separovic speaks about obtaining a PhD later in life, breaking down class barriers and following her curiosity.
