S1 (00:13):
And we thought that we might take a little bit
of a lap of honour and pats on the back,
and have a very quick chat between me and Cal
as this program. Reading the play All Things Footy was
recently nominated for a Community Broadcasting Association of Australia Cbaa

(00:33):
award and although we didn't win, Cal did attend the
awards night and we both are very proud of what
we've made and, um, the people who have worked with
us along the way over the last 18 months of
this program. What do you think, Cal?

S2 (00:52):
Yeah. Um, like I was saying, you early and I
echoed the same sentiments as you. I'm super proud of you.
You know, your tenacity and courage just blows me away.
You know, it's not easy living with, um. Obviously not
easy living with a visual impairment. But you you kick
it in the guts and you just continue to rock life,

(01:13):
and there's like one time a year where you might
be away for a number of months because you've had
eye surgery and you need a little bit of time
to recover. And that's where I step in and try
to keep this show alive. And I just want to
take this moment to say thank you to you. And
thank you to les, Rob and Kate and Norm. I

(01:35):
think there may have been others. Daimyo. Daimyo. Can't we
can't forget our executive producer. Daimyo. Um, there's been some
great people who have helped us throughout this, the duration
of this program's history. And Gemma as well for editing
when I'm not able to do so myself. And yeah,
I just I'm super proud of the team. And yes,
I was there at the awards night in Hobart and yeah,

(01:58):
we couldn't win the grand final. We made the final four.
And I think what's really impressive is that we were
one of four programs out of a whole pool of
community radio sports programs in Australia to get recognised for
a prestigious national award. And yes, we didn't win, but
the fact that we got we were one of four
shows pulled from a large, very large selection of sports

(02:22):
shows all around Australia. Just goes to show the, you know,
the effort and quality that we put into this show.
Or at least I like to think we do. Every
time we get into a studio, and it's not possible
without the help of you and the help of everybody
else who helps to keep the show on air. So
I want to say thank you to all those people

(02:43):
and yeah, may the show continue for a long time
to come.

S1 (02:47):
I agree. Also, our producer Nick in Melbourne, who I
think this program was from one of his germinated ideas
in a very creative mind. And um, so we're very
appreciative that people tune in and listen and, um, hopefully
next year we'll be back in the mix and, um,

(03:09):
can win it next year.
