In de achtste aflevering van de podcast 'Kapper van de Sterren 'doet zangeres Bente Fokkens een boekje open over haar jeugd. En die was allesbehalve makkelijk. Zo deelt ze dat ze flink werd gepest. Tot ze op televisie verscheen. "Op het moment dat ik op televisie kwam en bekend werd als kind, toen kreeg ik ineens heel veel aandacht en was ik in één keer leuk in de klas. En dat had ik natuurlijk wel door."
Bente praat ook over iets wat haar nog dieper raakte: haar angst om iemand te verliezen. Ze maakte van dichtbij mee hoe fragiel het leven kan zijn — iets wat diepe indruk op haar maakte. "Als je heel veel van iemand houdt, dan wil je natuurlijk niet dat hij doodgaat. En ik heb wel even gedacht dat hij doodging."
