Speaker 1 (00:00):
This morning on second date update we have Abby. Abby's
not getting a call back after a first date. Abby,
what's going on?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Hey, good morning, good morning, So tell us what's up.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
No, I'm actually like really embarrassed that I actually had
to call You're fine, I've I've been divorced for two
years actually, so I'm just not getting back into dating.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Nice, get back up on the horse the three off. Yeah,
how did you meet David?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
So? Our daughters are actually in cheer together, okay, and
they just had a cheer camp and so we actually
just like ended up sitting next to each other on
the first day, and I don't know, it kind of
felt like fate to me a little.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Like, So, Abby, did y'all end up going on a date?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Like?
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Did he ask you out? Did you ask him out?
Had it work?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
So the weekend competition and while the girls were busy
like learning routines, David and I would go out for
breakfast or I mean we got dinner, you know, we
would go to coffee.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
It's like a bunch of little mini dates.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, So we just hung out, like, you know, quite
a bit. Actually, we were texting, you know, during the weekend,
and then Monday, I expected to hear from him and nothing.
It was so weird.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Wait all weekend breakfast, dinner, coffee, nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, exactly. Yeah, then just radiosylums.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yeah, it's very it's confusing, especially if you were did
you get with a conversational right at least? I mean,
was there anything that happened during that, not that I
know of.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
I am like just really confused about it. Like we
we never had an awkward moment. Really, we were just
kind of I don't know, we were just hanging out,
Like everything seemed really easy. We had the greatest conversations.
Like from my perspective, you know, he's a single dad,
I'm a single mom. So one of the hardest things
about dating someone new when your daughter is in cheerleading
(01:52):
is finding someone who understands like the amount of time, money,
and energy it takes to like support your daughter through
this process.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Oh yeah, my daughter did cheer for one season and
that was way too much for both of us. It's
a huge commitment, not only monetarily, but also like a
huge time commitment exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Like, so the fact that he was so as committed
to it as I was was like, you know, it
was truly a blessing because I didn't have to explain
any of that.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Well, we got to find out why your perfect man
isn't calling you back, So if you wouldn't mind holding
on the phone for a second, try to get him
on the phone and get some answers sound okay?
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah? Please?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
I thank you so much, perfect Dabby will do that
for you. Coming up at eight thirty seven on I
three Q Second Date Update.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Abby and David are both cheer parents, so they met
over a weekend cheer competition and they had quite a
bit of time together breakfasts, dinners, some coffee dates. But
then afterwards the Monday after nothing, radio silence. Abby's wondering
what the heck happened? Why is he not calling her back?
We're going to find out right now with ninety three
Q second Date Update? Was this David?
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, Hey David, this is Erica and Riggs. We're calling
from a radio station called n I three. Have you
heard of that?
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:01):
I have? What's up?
Speaker 4 (03:03):
How can I help?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Well?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Would try to help you out. Really, I'm trying to
help you get a date with a wonderful woman. David.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Excuse me, You're you're setting me up on a date.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah kind of.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Oh, this is a second date update. Please don't, please
don't tell me this is a second date update.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
You're so smart, David. You know we're just trying to
figure out why you aren't calling Abby back. She seems
so sweet going on.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Oh man, what a nightmare. I knew it.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I knew it a nightmare.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
You said, why, Yeah, well, our daughters, both of our daughters,
are very heavily into competitive cheer, and you know, so
I will have to see this woman a lot and
this is going to be so awkward. So I'm assuming
she's listening right now.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Correct, Yes she is.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Abby.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Do you want to say hi to David? He knows
how this works.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Hi, David, I'm so sorry. I had the called ninety
three Q, but you were and I knew that we
would have to see each other a lot, so I
just wanted to find out what the deal was so
we could put it behind us.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Well, Abby, I was trying to get through this unscathed,
but I see that's not going to happen.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Now what David, what are you in the world are
you talking about? I'm so confused.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Okay, I'm going to be very upfront because cheer is
very important to my daughter, and I don't want you
to stop her from reaching her true potential.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Okay, now I'm interested, Abbie. Now what I.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yeah, I'm interested too. I don't know what's.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Going okay, so Abby, I was talking to Michelle.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
You know Michelle right, Ashley's mom?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yes, Ashley's mom?
Speaker 3 (04:40):
All right? What about her?
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Wow? She saw us talking and walking around during tryout,
and she stopped me and told me that I'd better
make sure I keep you happy because if not, I
would basically be killing my daughter's to your career.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Are you serious? I've really had it with that woman.
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
She told me you are super involved, and with the
words she used was that she basically said that you
were overly involved in your daughter's life and that you
are part of a quote mean girls cheer mom group
where y'all just go around hating on everyone in blocking
people you don't like from being a part of the organization.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
And I mean, I mean she said that about me.
She is the overly involved one. That woman is the
biggest hater I've ever met. Like she is. She's married
and she can't even let her husband take her daughter
to practices because her husband has literally slept with a
bunch of those moms. He tried hitting on me last season,
(05:39):
and I kept turning him down, which only made him
come at me harder. And I finally told Michelle, and
she got mad at me, not her husband, at me.
You saw me. I was not even in the room
with the girls she was. She's always there, living her
life through her daughter. O.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Well, that was like a lot to unpack.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yes, I mean for me, does it seem like this
is a Michelle girl just having the hating issue sounds
so nice.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
She needs to get her hussy husband on her control.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
There, No, that's exactly the problem. David. You can choose
to believe whoever you'd like, but I can tell you
that nothing she said about me is true. I mean,
I was actually excited that I had a conversation, Like,
I was actually excited that I had a connection with someone.
I am very picky with men that I talked to
you because I never want to bring a negative person
(06:29):
into my daughter's life. And I really loved how much
you love and support your daughter. I mean, I don't know.
I guess I was wrong, David.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Sorry, guys, I just have to say, like I kind
of feel like it. You know, maybe I jumped the gun.
You know, this whole cheer thing is new to me,
and the dynamics with the other parents. My ex wife
is always the one that was involved and got a
new job, and so now I want to be with
my daughter as much as possible. So you know, it's
kind of worked out that I've started taking her you know,
a lot more than a lot more now.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yeah, no, I get it. It's it's a lot to
navigate through. So I just texted my.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Ex wife and I asked what she thought about Michelle,
and she immediately got back to me and she just said,
it's two words, total, stay away from her. She's bad news.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Wow. Yeah, that tells you everything. We assume. Michelle was
probably the bad apple here. So how about a second date?
Do you think we can do that? Can we make
it happen?
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yeah? I'm so sorry, Iby.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
You know, if you're down to forgive me and give
me another chance, you know, I'd love to go out
and try it again.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
David. I honestly liked you, and I now how manipulative
some of these women can be, so I will give
you a chance to redeem yourself. I'd love to go
on a real date with you, like away from the
other tier. Mam.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Yeah, finally, we don't. We don't normally get second dates,
so when we do it's like a joyous accomplished If
y'all wouldn't mind, would you hang on the phone, would
love to take care of the tab for the second date.
We'll send you somewhere nice to make sure it's all good.
You know, to you know, to pay anything, We'll take
care of that for you. Absolute, and we will want
an invite to the wedding as well.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Absolutely,
