Speaker 1 (00:00):
This morning on second Date Update, we would like to
welcome Brendan to the line. How are you Brendan?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call. I'm kind of
in a weird spot. I had a date that I
thought was one of the best I've had and it
just ended. It was just over, just.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Gone, like vanished in thin air, nothing nobody else. Yeah,
I mean, like, well, let's let's trace back the stuffs
real quick, like, how did you? And it was Chloe.
How did you guys meet?

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Right?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, her name's Chloe. We met on bumble, so we matched.
We talked for a couple of days. The vibe was
instantly there. She seems funny, smart, and we decided to
meet up for some drinks.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
Okay, that sounds like a nice, safe start, just meeting
for drinks. Where je'll go.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, so I lived in the Heights, she lives in
the Medical Center. So we decided to go to a
spot in Montrose and probably heard of it. Nice spot,
not too loud, great cocktails, conversation flowed, we laughed the time. Honestly,
it was. It just came very natural. It was like
three hours flew by in about twenty minutes, and the

(01:05):
chemistry was undeniable.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Wow, So everything seems fantastic up until that point. What
happened next? Like, the vibe was right, So I'm guessing
you didn't want the night to end? Did you go
somewhere else?

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
So we were both feeling it, and like I said,
I live in the heights, So I asked her if
she wanted to come by for just one more drink,
and she seemedly excited about it, and she said yes,
So we headed over there.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
So you get back to the apartment and then what.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
So we get inside, I pour a glass of wine
and we're chatting on the couch. After a couple of minutes,
I told her I had something really special I've been
working on and I wanted to show her. It was
in the spare room, and I figured it would be
a really cool surprise.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
I'm just going to warn you that we recently talked
to another woman who had a man with a spare
bedroom and showed her some things in it, and we
thought he was a serial killer. So exactly you showed
up with the surprise. You were mysterious, how to go right?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I mean, and again maybe just maybe a little too mysterious,
But I go into the other room, which for like
maybe like two minutes because I wanted to, you know,
kind of turn on some accent light. And I come
back into the living room and she's gone, her coat's gone,
her purse is gone, her half full glass of wine
is sitting on the coffee table. No, no, no text nothing.

(02:25):
I called her the next day, texted her that night,
and she just completely ghosted me. I just don't understand why.
I didn't know if it was because my apartment was messy.
I didn't know if she saw a roach or no,
or the idea of what could have scared her like that.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, that is bizarre.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
So we're gonna try to get to the bottom of
the before you get some answers for you bringing Chloe
on the phone and ask her what happened.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Okay, I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Thanks, all right, we're gonna call Chloe. Coming up next
ninety three second date updates.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
We just spoke with Brendan on the phone for second
date update. He took Chloe in a fantastic date. They
had amazing chemistry. He invited her back to his place,
but then he wanted to show her this spare room
as a surprise was that it did?

Speaker 4 (03:03):
She not like that?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Surprise.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
What happened? She completely vanished? We'll find out now. On
second Date update.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Hello, Hi there, May I please speak with Chloe?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah, sus This Hi Chloe.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
Good morning. This is Riggs, Caitlin and Erica.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Hey, what's up night?

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Th Cue?

Speaker 3 (03:19):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Girl? Hi?

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Good morning? Well we uh you actually have landed yourself.
On second date update, we gotulations call from a gentleman
named Brendan.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
I can't believe he called you, guys, So what do
I What do I have to do?

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Well, he's he's kind of in the he's kind of
in the dark. He said that you got his y'all
had a date. It went amazing. You went back to
his place in the heights, and then he said he
was going to show you like a rum or something,
and then you just left. So he's just he's dying
to know what went wrong.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
I mean, the date was amazing. He's definitely right about that.
He's very handsome, great conversationalist and I was definitely planning
on seeing him again until we went back to his So.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
It was something in his apartment because he's completely stunned.
He's like I don't know what happened. What happened in
at two minutes that he was gone.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Okay, So he goes into this other room to get
like the surprise, which was weird. And I'm sitting on
the couch and his laptop was open and the screen
lit up with a message from a friend, and I
know I shouldn't have read it, but it was right there,
and I just, you know, glanced at it and I
saw and.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
What did the message say? From the friend?

Speaker 4 (04:29):
It was from someone named Mark and it said, dude,
how's the date going? Did you show her the nursery yet? Lmao?

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Nursery?

Speaker 4 (04:37):
I'm like, like, I don't know if he has a
kid or like what. But it was just weird.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Are you sure it was a child nursery and not
a plant nursery?

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Could be I don't know. Like my heart just like
dropped and I was like, the nursery, like is that
a code word? Like I just need to get out
of here. So I looked over at the door of
the room he'd gone into, and I could see it
was painted this like baby yellow color, and I noticed
like a little stuffed teddy bear sitting on the floor
right by the door, and I just I just panicked,

(05:05):
and I thought he was into some weird adult baby
or something. I don't know, Like my mind was just
like I'm so.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Freaked out, like I had a kid on the way
or that, like or that.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
So I just like my fight or flight kicked in
and I just like I got myself and I got
out of there.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
You watched too many movies, Chloe.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
That's what you saw.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
So that's Brendan, by the way, Chloe, he's been on
the other line. He's been listening in as you know, Brendan,
what kind of nursery do you have?

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Exactly?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Oh my god, I'm so embarrassed, Chloe. I'm I'm a woodworker,
and I thought we maybe me. I mentioned that my
older sister is nine months pregnant with her first kid.
And so the nursery is the complete custom furniture set,
which is a changing table dresser crib that I handbuilt
for my new nephew. It's just the most important project

(05:59):
I've ever done, and so I'm very proud of it,
and I've wanted to show you.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Oh that's actually really sweet.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
You're a woodworker, I mean, oh my god, but what
about the text message.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
So yeah, I mean, and yeah, definitely. Mark is my
best friend. He knows I've been working on this for months.
He knows that I'm over the moon excited about being
an uncle and he was just messing with me. And
the teddy bear on the floor was from my mom,
who is for the baby.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Okay, well, I feel like an idiot. I mean, but
you have to admit, from my perspective, it looked really
really weird. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
No, I definitely could see that. But I mean, you
just you just left, and I guess at that point
you could have asked. I mean, I was really excited
to show you.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
I do think that asking probably would have obviously gotten
to the bottom of this, but at least giving him
a chance to explain himself. Now that you know, Chloe
that this was a colossal mix up, are we down
for second date with Brendan? I mean, you guys really
liked each other until the nursery thing. Yeah, and he
obviously really loves his family.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Honestly, I don't think I can. I'm so embarrassed for
snooping and jumping to such an insane conclusion, and I'm
not sure I can get the image I had in
my head, out of my head now, and it's just
what it just got too weird. Like, I'm sorry, Brendan,
I think we should just leave it here. I'm sorry. What?

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Oh does she hang up? Yes?

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Okay, First of all, you guys, this just proves we
watch too many of these crime shows.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Number one, we've had women running out for the tiniest reasons,
but also finding a man that can work with his hands,
you know more that.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Is, and that cares about his family.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Really, Yeah, I think this is one of those situations
where it's something else.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
It has to be. Yeah, Brendan, I'm sorry. We don't
even know what to say. We're really sorry. You sound
like a very nice guy. I hope something works out
for you though.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
Yeah. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Guys. Yeah, I'm not sure what to think, but I
guess I'm gonna work on something else.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Building something min are going to blow up with women.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I want tomand on life, his family.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Let's go, let's go,
