Beber alcohol está demasiado normalizado. Al salir de trabajar, en el aperitivo, en fiestas y celebraciones... Y, si a alguien se le ocurre pedir agua, un refresco o una cerveza sin, se le pregunta si se está medicado o si le ocurre algo. Ser abstemio no es la norma y está, incluso, mal visto. La cuestión es, ¿es más saludable no tomar nada de alcohol que hacerlo dentro de los patrones de la dieta Mediterránea? Para averiguarlo acaba de ponerse en marcha en España un proyecto de investigación sobre el alcohol llamado UNATI y que está liderado por la Universidad de Navarra. El objetivo es averiguar si realmente la abstinencia y el consumo ligero o moderado de alcohol tienen el mismo impacto en el organismo.
Sobre este proyecto hablamos en este episodio con Miguel Ángel Álvarez de Mon, psiquiatra en el Hospital Universitario Infanta Leonor en Madrid y uno de los cinco miembros del comité directivo de UNATI.
