„Magyarország történetének legnagyobb humanitárius akcióját hajtja végre, amikor segíti az Ukrajnából menekülőket” – ezt Szentkirályi Alexandra még kormányszóvivői minőségében mondta 2022 májusában.
Nem ő volt az egyetlen, aki így hivatkozott az Ukrajnából Magyarországra menekülők segítésére. A hangzatos mondatokon túl azonban pontos adatokat csak ritkán említenek a politikusok az ukrajnai menekültekkel kapcsolatban. Mit lehet tudni arról, valójában hány ukrajnai menekült tartózkodik az országban? Milyen támogatás jár az úgynevezett menedékes státusszal, és mennyit költ az állam a segítségnyújtásra?
