Joost kan zich voor zijn gevoel erg weinig van zijn vader Piet herinneren. Hij zou zo graag een herinnering willen kunnen opvissen van zijn vaders geur of zitten op schoot. Hij gaat hierover in gesprek met zijn collega Mattie Valk, die 25 was toen hij zijn vader John verloor. Joost is bijna jaloers op Mattie dat hij zo veel meer herinneringen heeft kunnen maken met zijn vader, maar voelt Mattie dat zelf wel zo?
