Continue with the wins?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yeah something coach mc veigh talks about.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
It's it's stacking bricks, stacking plays and stacking days. And
so I think you know, we watch the film, see
when we did good, See where we can get better?
You get right back to the practice field, you know, uh,
get get ready.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
For next week.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
But you know, treating each day as its own, you know,
living in the moment, being in the moment, and uh,
let everything else take care of itself. Great, Thank you
so much.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I thank you. Uh two words, Statson Benner. That's it.
Talks about the chemistry you have with us, sus Uh, just.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Going back from us coming together our rookie. Yeah, we
both came in at the same time, so you know,
throughout those years just being able to get catchers together
and understand each other, understand what we both looking for.
You know, just over the over the past couple of years,
we've been able to build that relationship and then build
that chemistry on that out the field as well.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
How would you describe the wife's TV room right now?
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Elected?
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Uh, brothers and.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
You know we all playing for each other. So you know,
a great group of guys and we gonna continue to
play together, you know, building that, building.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
This type of relationship.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Man, definitely being good and definitely creating a family outside
of my own. What resonates the most of you about
Stutton's growth or least year man everything, And I I
tell him, I tell him all the time. It's like,
I'm so proud of him because you know, I saw
the growth from when we came in his rookies to
you know where he's at now. And you can see
(01:30):
the love on his face, the way he's loving the game,
the way he's playing with that passion, the way he
playing with that swagger. So you know, I tell him
all the time, Man, I love it, and I just
want him to keep going.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
How would that's what have you seen about him?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Specific?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
We never just saw that more where he was get
that swag back, an.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Attitude back that you used to see you on time,
just just the way he carrying hisself on and off
the field, you know, just knowing how he played a game.
You know, I watched him when he was at Georgia,
so being able to see him once he got here,
it was like I t and then I told him today,
I say, man, you playing with that confidence and you
playing with that swagger again, and I love it.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
You would have seen he's real comfortable in this particular field.
Off he's ask some success on this field. What a
s What have you seen out of him that made
you better as well? Man?
Speaker 4 (02:20):
The way he handling certain situations, you know, just the
way he handling certain situations. And man, it's it's inspiring
to me to see him come back from where he
came back from and to be able to put on
the show that he's putting on right now. It's just
a testament to his growth and a testament to the
work that he's been putting there behind the scenes.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
And talk to me about X Talk to me about
the swagger that you have going into your second year.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Where have you seen the the greatest strides in your game?
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Just being confident, man, being confident in my abilities, knowing
that I could play at this level and you know,
just taking it in stride, being able to, uh, you know,
learn from the guys around me, like Devronte Adams Pooka
to to Jay Withitz. So man, just learning from those
guys and then taking it in day by day, taking
(03:12):
the hides with the lows and being able to you know,
be open to the growth in order to you know,
become the best that I could be for myself.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
A couple more guys.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Gonna we've seen you worked in in a bunch of
different ways during camp, like on the jets and on
the screenplays, like kind of how do you view your
role in this receiver room?
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Whatever they need me to play? And uh, you know
I'd be able to play that position if they need
me to do the jets sweeps, if they need me
to run routes, if they need me to you know,
be the guy who gotta run a route to get
other guys open, then that's what I do. So just
being able to play whatever they need me to play,
(03:51):
and then you know, making the most of every opportunity
that I would see. All Right, thanks, thanks, I appreciate you,
and thank you. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Just after the you know, missing the first couple weeks
of camp, how to feel to get out there and
be getting everybody lined up?
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Uh, it feel great.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
It felt great just being out there with those guys
and going to battle with 'em, you know, watching them practice,
Uh every day when I was injured, but you know,
I stayed suicide. I got mental reffs, asked a lot
of questions. Uh got next to Troy Reader, uh, Nate
Lammon and old mar Space guys like that, just to
figure out what coach wanted to do and what he
wanted to accomplish.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
So I'll go out here and put my poor efforts.
When I came back.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
How did that veteran you know, aid to help with you?
Just getting everybody lined up? We're in the green doc today?
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Man, it helped a lot.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
Uh getting a knowledge from guys who got NFL experience
and uh what what to expect on certain plays, certain downs, uh,
certain areas of the field.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Uh really kind of stood out to me.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
So I took those coaching points with me out there,
and uh, feel like I had a pretty successful game.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Feel like we had a pretty successful game on defense
and often. So what was your reaction to finding out
that you were.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
In the green up? I I I would agreed out
in college, So I was kind of already used to
the communication and uh what to expect from coach? Manage
really helpful out there, you know, just uh after every play,
coach is giving you tips, Uh, not only about yourself,
but what guys around you should do and what you
should tell them to do. So it's really helpful and
really exciting krins.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Being ablehood to be putting different type of you to
decide the mine backer group.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
What does that say about your versatility, being able to
play that you decided for?
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Uh, I feel like it says a lot. It feels
like a linebacker these days are very versatile. Uh, they're
more the uh athletic bills.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
You know.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
Back then it was you had to be two hundred
fifty pounds run stopper. But now you know, we covering
guys who are athletic, and so me showing versatility out there, uh,
kind of gives me a ed and kind of show
that I can keep up with NFL caliber players.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Is that a custom food there or what?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Uh? What it is? It is?
Speaker 5 (05:44):
I got it when I transferred to Old miss in
twenty twenty four.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It was something to just boil myself.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
I got with my jeweler, uh school the jewel out
of Atlanta, Georgia, Uh, where I'm from, And it really
just you know, he kind of just came up with it,
I did on his own. So I let him for
and he ended up coming out with this, so I ain't.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Took it off yet. How does AT show up in
your game? Uh? Man?
Speaker 5 (06:07):
So I'm originally from South Georgia, so I'm I'm always
south of Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Uh, small town cordiall of Georgia.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
But man, down in the South, man football is you know,
it is not just a game to us. So me
growing up in those circumstances and growing up around those guys,
uh really helped me carry carry on to college and
to the NFL.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Was like having g Money really in place here tonight.
Ah Man, it was great. It was great. Uh.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
But G Money is somebody who knows a lot of football,
so you know, being with him and getting up under
his wing being pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Especially with him being my coach.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
You know, I can't ask him about anything with it
his D line linebacker DB's and he has to answer
for me right away. He's been very helpful with me
throughout camp and everything, even.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
When I was injured.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
You know, he sat down with me, got extra film,
answered all my questions, made me feel confident.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Alright, right, how close did y how close to a
perfect game did you play? Uh? I wouldn't say I
played a perfect game.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
That's something that was There's always things I need to fix,
always things I need to correct. But I feel like
I played, uh to the standard of the rams. I
played to our standard. I played to the player's standard
and the coaches, so uh, I feel like he was
very successful.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
How are you gonna take that on to the next
houste through it?
Speaker 5 (07:15):
Just carrying over with the momentum that we got this week,
just going back into the film room, asking those guys questions, uh,
asking coaches questions, and just dialing into the film
