Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, we just you know, we played hard.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
You know, that's one thing about this team and the
culture that we have.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
Yeah, we play hard.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
We're gonna fight till the end. And you know, at
the end of the day, the Panthers came out on top.
So you know, you know, shout out to them. It's
just time for us to go back to the drawing board,
see what we can fix and work on and come out,
you know, fire next week.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
You guys were you guys were moving up and down
the field at the very end, Blake, is it is
it shocking that you didn't win the with the turnover?
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
I mean, you know, it wasn't shocking.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
You know what I'm saying. It wasn't shocking. You know,
you just control what you can control, you know what
I'm saying. But like you said, we were moving down
the field and w and you know, everyone was doing
a great job, from no line to receivers, Matthew, you know,
we were, we were rolling.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
You know what I'm saying. It's just, you know, some
things you can't control, you know.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Panthers, Uh, they made a good play, you know, and
that's something we just gotta learn from.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
But like I said, we fall hard, man, We fall hard.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
But uh, you know, we just didn't get the dub today.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
But uh, you know we move on.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
What what's the feeling like, uh on the sideline as
an offense when you have like an entire almost an
entire quarter where you got aren't on the.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Field, Yeah, you know, you just gotta stay warm.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
You stay warm, stay loose, and get ready to go
back in and you know, start where we left off
because like I said, we were rolling.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
It's just you know, little mistakes here and there that
we need just correct.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
But like I said, the team felt hard.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You know, I'm proud of this team.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
I'm proud of all the guys the way they fall
to the end, and you know, we just didn't come
out on top.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
You have age almost five yards to carry.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
What was working on the ground.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
For you guys, well, I mean first, you know, offensive
line was doing a phenomenal job, and then the receivers.
You know, on my long run, you know, Jay Whitt
had a great block when I went and cut, and
you know everything I mean from duo.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
To our size zone.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
We were going back and forth depending on if they
were in six tech or nine tech and vice versas.
So you know, it was a great job by the
old line tight ends and everyone's just working as one.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
I justel like, just wake up call you know something
that we just got the love for them. I think
you definitely think there's something that we needed. But you know,
the guys lack of bad thing. I just look at
it that likes motivation and it's.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Something i'd just have to leave this white.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Why you said, why do we do it's you know,
don't get to place or nothing like that. And it's,
like I said, a humble of experience like we do
at skis to put it down or that.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I feel like we definitely needed that.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
We just kept going.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
You guys give there two of their touchdowns came on
fourth downs. Is that pup the stumma?
Speaker 6 (02:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
You know, uh, you know something that we never don't
get up like that and have 'em more forks out
and walmost out.
Speaker 6 (02:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I definitely a tough build a struggle.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
Like I said, a la humble wat Spence has something. Fore,
I gotta gould offense people, gotta you gotta stay motivate
those people you guys.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Had been able to avoid and overcome turnovers leading up
to the skame, did you feel like you guys were
gonna be able to overcome the mistakes?
Speaker 7 (02:41):
I did?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
H I mean with this team, I'm always optimistic that
you know, even through some adversities get out the game
that will will weather the storm and figure it out.
We just made a few too many mistakes and as
the team didn't play. You know, we've had games where
on offense we didn't play great and the defense picks
it up. We just didn't totally you know, nobody, nobody
saved the day to day and uh, you know that's
where we that's where we end up falling short.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Okay, stranger in that third quarter, you guys only had
three plays.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Did that affect you guys play in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Or I don't think so. I think it's just some
m comes down to just obviously protecting the ball. When
you playing in the elements, you gotta be extra you know, uh,
cautious to that and you know, have a have a
little bit more awareness to to covering it up. Obviously,
Matthew does a great job with protecting the ball, you know,
interception wise, fumble wise, whatever it is. First pick was
obviously a Fluke, you know, ballgus tips. Not much you
(03:30):
can do about that as a quarterback, and then uh,
as receivers, we just got to do what we can
to to knock it down. Sometimes they they come up
with those and second when they got us on obviously,
and then you know the fune board at the end
that we gotta do the best job we can of
protecting it. But you know, those type of things happen
in in our cor our quarterback protects it better than anybody,
so moving forward, were not necessarily worried about that. We
just got to make sure we got our intentions up.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
So once your teammates called this a week up call
and maybe something you guys needed, did you feel that way?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I mean, look, I don't I don't know. I don't
think it. Anybody in here was riding high like we were,
you know, some invincible team. Obviously, it feels like that
when you're running off wins. But we didn't necessarily need
to be humbled or anything like that. I think we
we roll as a as a humble crew, very confident crew,
but humble, and sometimes the the ball just doesn't go
your way and you know you gotta lay some back
up and figure it out the next week.
Speaker 8 (04:17):
But what do you what do you think from that game?
Speaker 6 (04:20):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (04:21):
I think, uh, the opportunity for us to to execute
when uh we need to have to come down to
these some of these third downs, and we if we
had an opportunity to stay off, uh stay away from
third downs early in the game, and then that this
wasn't how the game kind of played out for us
in the second half.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
You take us through your cat one hand to catch
their uh for the big game.
Speaker 8 (04:38):
Yeah, uh, knowing that we ha we have a double
move up and trusting the spot at number nine. I
I definitely could have feel like I could have sold
the route more he was, he was ready for it.
And then uh yeah just went the balls up in
the air. It's my job to go make a play
and uh trying to find some way to come down
with it, and uh man, it was a it was
a wild one that did it. For a second thought,
I wass go to bat it down and uh was
able to end up with my hands and it felt good.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
So the frustration, like in a game like this for
you you guys just move it up and down the field.
But it just felt like a couple of plays either
third downs or turnovers.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
You knows the difference.
Speaker 8 (05:05):
Yeah, I think I I know I can do my part,
especially in the run game of the the looks that
we were getting and being able to execute when we're
we're moving up to the second level and trying to block,
and then especially on on on our pick right here
on a on a pick six, of doing a better
job of being able to come out of a flatter
angle give matthew a a clear a clear target he
can put the ball in. I feel like those are
some of the things that, uh, we just haven't had
some of those situations kind of come up, and it's
(05:25):
not something that we'll learn from and get better.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Sean had warned all week that humility is one gayaway.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
What's what's humbling about today?
Speaker 8 (05:34):
Just knowing that, uh, this is either some of the
things that we we feel like we we operate on
a high level at US at least third downs where
we t we take pride, especially in our.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
Receiver room, of being able to execute in some of
those moments.
Speaker 8 (05:44):
And then I know our defense feels the exact same
way of uh, the opportunities to get off the field
so they can't get the ball in our hands, and
uh we can do our job of playing complementary football
score and when we get opportunities, I'm.
Speaker 9 (05:52):
Honestully excited to be able to go back clean that up.
That's gonna be the first thing I do on the
bus ride to the to the plane. Let's go back,
look at the tape, figure out what'll be, and clean up.
And we're gonna keep pushing them forward.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
So much some respect if they're a positive within all this,
I think.
Speaker 9 (06:05):
I mean, at the end of the day, this is
a setback, and setbacks, as Sean says, are set ups,
uh for a greater comeback. So I'm I'm definitely excited
to go back to work with these guys. We have
the right type of people in this in this building, uh,
who are gonna take this and use this as the
opportunity to get better. Obviously a humbling experience. We've been
talking about it all week. Humble Pie is only one
week away. This week we ate some humble pie, but
(06:27):
uh gonna be able to come back stronger and a
lot stronger next week. And I'm excited for that opportunity.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
We could keep Before the game and you were talking
about we've seen this from Rice.
Speaker 8 (06:34):
Where he those four hundred and weeteen other games.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
If you had success today, you guys didn't have great
success games.
Speaker 9 (06:40):
What was the difference? Yeah, I think one of the
big differences is they were able to stay on track.
We gotta do a much better job on versus second down, uh,
to get them into those third and long situations and
to uh really make him have to sit back, get
through his progressions and give us some more time to
get there. So, uh, you know, we knew that they
had a very strong run game. Uh, they did some
good work on the ground. Uh, we're have to go
(07:00):
back clean that up. And we also knew that we're
gonna have to earn the right this week. They're not
a team that gets in second and long and automatically
passes the ball. So that's gonna be what we need
to do going forward to make sure that we earned
the right on early downs, first and second downs, get
them behind the sticks, really make them play from behind,
and then we're gonna really be able to go and
get out to the quarterback.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Oh.
Speaker 8 (07:18):
I just got rolled up on you.
Speaker 10 (07:19):
Classic just be guys laying on top of you, And
thank goodness that I went through some last year two
years ago that you know, had.
Speaker 7 (07:27):
Scar tissue in that ankle. So it's not really a
big of a deal.
Speaker 10 (07:30):
So you know, thank Goodness for that, Thank the Lord,
and you know, I'll be, I'll be, I'll be ready
to go next week. If you think it's players say
exactly the scar teaching man.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
A couple of your teammates talked about how this was
a wake up call and maybe guys were like riding
high after this win streak. Did you feel that way?
Speaker 10 (07:46):
Sure, you say it's a wake up call. I think
we got woke up twice already, this this early on
in the season. I just think we gotta continue to
keep being consistent and not be complacent.
Speaker 7 (07:54):
You gotta continue to keep the keeping them foot in
the gas.
Speaker 10 (07:56):
And you know, I'm talking to myself first and then
obviously whoever listens, you know, relays that message. But I
think that we got to continue to come out the
gate with that type of energy. You know, I think
Ronnie started off started off off well with that kickoff return.
Speaker 7 (08:08):
He's going to continue to keep that momentum.
Speaker 10 (08:09):
Coachmay always talks about snatching momentum and taking it back,
and so when whenever we lose that we get got
to continue to keep focused on snatching it back and
continue to keep putting.
Speaker 7 (08:17):
The ball in our hands. You guys, after the game,
this is exactly what we needed.
Speaker 10 (08:21):
You know, this is who we are and who we
got in his locker room is not gonna dictate with
the rest of the season, if.
Speaker 7 (08:28):
That makes sense.
Speaker 10 (08:29):
We got guys in here who are mentally resilient, who
are physically resilient, who are going to continue to keep
working hard because they know the goal of this team
isn't just based on the results of today.
Speaker 7 (08:38):
You know, I think we got to continue to keep
getting better.
Speaker 10 (08:40):
And coach McVay believes that he believes in us, and
he knows that the guys that are in his locker
room will get that done.
Speaker 7 (08:45):
And I believe that too.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
How do you how do you process a game like
this on offense? Or it felt like you guys just
moved up and down the field at will and then
it but you know, just a few plays end up
being the mistakes that cost you.
Speaker 7 (08:56):
I think that's ball right there. That's the name of
the game.
Speaker 10 (08:58):
Plus, see right now, where we're at playing forfet football,
the the margin for error is so small and so
you know, although we did what we needed to do offensively,
there are some things that we obviously didn't capitalize on.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
And I think that ain't that's nothing.
Speaker 10 (09:11):
That's nothing besides just going back to work and you know,
continue to keep getting that feel, getting that jail, getting
that glue, and continue to know that man, I'm I'm,
I'm right here.
Speaker 7 (09:20):
With everybody in this locker room.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (09:21):
I think this is another chance of adversity that we
Speaker 10 (09:23):
Get to see who we got in this who we
got in this locker room, and the type of man
that we got
