Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, it was a great call by coaches. Fourth
and short, you know, taking a deep shot like that
or set up through a bunch of other plays that
we're done. We run on the ball out of thirteen
a lot, and so coach had a great call there
and we're setting it up. When I was running the route,
he was already panicking on the on the run, then
the corner and then so the posters just wide open.
It just blessed to be putting the opportunity and the
(00:21):
coaches and everyone to trust me, and obviously it is
a great throw right right in the bread basket.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
So you've talked about staying patient through this process, Like,
how did that one feel for me today?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
It felt really good. You know, it's always a blessing.
I think everyone wants everything right now, especially right now
with social media and our phones. Everyone just everything happens now.
Everyone wants on their time, but really trusting God's timing
and whenever that was trusting the coaches, trusting the process.
It has been huge for me leaning on my faith obviously,
so I made a lot for all that to come
(00:53):
to fruition and be able to score touchdown here in
a big game with the guys.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
So your first, your first career catch goes for a
first down on third down, your second goes for a touchdown.
Just what's it been like to be able to make
an impact like that? And I guess such an efficient way.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, you know, just honestly, i'd say, take back to
the coaches that put me in good situations, trust me
in big moments the fourth down and the third down.
You're just showing my ability being to make explosive pass
or explosive plays and get open. So it definitely, it
definitely means a lot when those are kind of big moments.
But just everyone trusted me, and obviously it's it's a
full thing.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
So what do you feel like you've gotten better than
most from the start of your rookie year to where
you're at right now.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Yeah, I'd say there's a lot of things. I'd say
blocking is a big thing. Just being able to learn
from some of the guys, from Higgs, from Colby, from
da those guys have taught me so much and just
kind of understanding the game. And I'd say the blockings
definitely came the longest.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
You know, patience was the hardest thing. Yeah, how does
the field get the first.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
It's such a it's such a blessing, all glory to God.
And like I was just and it's we need to
wait and you wait on God's time and and trusting
the coaches, the process. Everyone's putting you in a great situation,
but everyone wants stuff. Now you in now you know now,
so being able to take a step back, enjoy the process,
get better for out the days and all the hard
(02:16):
work comes to this so and many more. So I'm
really blessed. He was greatful.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Can you kind of walk us through what you saw
on that play?
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Really it was a player I scored on it and in
practice actually cross her mesh uh, and I just kind
of seeing the coverage the way it was kind of
set out, I felt like I knew I had an
opportunity on that ball, so I just kind of went
up to him to set him up and gave him
a slight little job and the.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Ball was there.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
So you know, with nine an, the things possible.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
So sho as you pick out the first celebration.
Speaker 6 (02:48):
Were playing, were playing this all week. Really, I just
knew soccer was big over here overseas, and I know
Christian Ronaldo is like a big name and the celebration
when he does the celebration, the whole crowd.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:01):
Soon.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
So we was practicing it all all week, so every
time we scored, winded it up soon. So that's how
we kind of came up with it.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Did to get that first one, how they feel kind
of get the first touchdown?
Speaker 6 (03:14):
It felt amazing. You know, I just got to thank
God for putting me in that situation. I want to
thank coach McVay, you know, Stafford, the whole team because
you know, it's it's a blessing for sure, especially over
in London too.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
You mentioned Stafford. Just what you make of this day
overall with five touchdown passes.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
Man Matt Stafford doing Matt Stafford things, you know, uh greatness.
So it's amazing to be able to play with him
and just see what my own eyes for sure.
Speaker 7 (03:36):
Do you think about the energy level the team had
after the flight Friday night and then playing today, I
thought it was good.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
I felt like, uh, Coach McVay and the staff did
a good job of doing things basically for our body
to be ready for this game. And like he said,
and while we was in Baltimore, it's for the best
best of the players. So and that's what we did.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
So Vanteer went out Therevalteer went out there and had
three touchdowns today. Just what has it been like as
a young player to share receiver room with him and
what kind of things do you learn from him? You know,
seeing what he's able to still do.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
At this age, it's amazing, you know, like I said,
it's a blessing. It's just like staff with two Hall
of Famers, and you know, he's a great guy. He's
willing to share with what he knows, and you know
how great he's been in his career. So it's been amazing.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
He's a great.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
Dude, obviously a great player, and so it's amazing just
to continue to learn from.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
You and group.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
So Davonte said that he feels like you've you know,
he's been He appreciated the way you've approached your rookie year.
He said, he thinks you can keep You're ahead of
where he was at this point in his career. Like,
what is your approach been to just developing in such
a deep room.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
Really just focusing on being the best version of myself.
It's a blessing to be playing the game that we
are today. So I mean a lot of people wish
they're in my shoes. So really just taking a step
out of time a day at a time, stack in
days and learning as much as I can from those guys,
because like I said, I mean I prayed, honestly, I
pray being college and in high school to learn from
a guy like d Adams. So it's who I kind
of that's why I watched growing up. So definitely just
(05:02):
that approach.
Speaker 7 (05:03):
Is there anything that when you you watched him growing up?
Is there anything that being his teammate that has made
it even more special because of that?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (05:10):
Yeah, definitely. I mean, I just it's kind of like
amazing every time you step out there, you like, dang,
you out there with a Hall of Famer and like
I said, a guy that you watch and just how
he approaches the game and how cerebral he is with
his technique, his technique and everything.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
So almost next to be why that's always it's all
good clocking, clocking, all.
Speaker 8 (05:37):
Right, Cut that you cut that you're not cutting?
Speaker 6 (05:41):
I mean, wave up bad.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
How we're doing together together?
Speaker 8 (05:44):
Oh cool, that's work.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
Good bye. You guys were wanting for a very different
feel obviously going into this by. How do you value
where you guys are especially compared to last year?
Speaker 8 (05:55):
Oh, you know, like I was telling him the whole time,
just the past two years, you know, a different situation.
You know, this year, you know, we up, you know,
going into the bay, you know, happy and stuff like that.
You know still you know, got the same mentality and everything,
you know, not laying up, but you know, just grateful
to be in this position.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
First play the game, Jered, you get a sack. Just
what did you guys feel like that did in terms of,
you know, saying the tone for you know, the defense
the rest of the game.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
I think it just let us everybody know that we're
coming after y'all. You know, we know, we know our
defensive line. You know we leave Kobe fitz By. You
know we're able to do especially when we get after
it when they wasn't gonna be able to stop us
at all, Joe sired to Nick Campton. Want they call
the whole deal?
Speaker 8 (06:27):
I was just trying to throw some names out there.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
Bad.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Get your hand on my shoulder.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
It's kind of weird.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
We held them for too long?
Speaker 8 (06:33):
Yeah, lit it bit too long?
Speaker 7 (06:34):
How'd you guys feel the energy was after flying Friday
night and getting here and playing today, we thought the.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Energy was great. I mean, especially not being here for
you know, like a couple of days, were able to
get used to kind of acclimated and everything like that.
No crazy to sleep. I feel like the energy was
exactly where I had to be. I feel like it
might have been better than you know, anywhere else we played.
I agree.
Speaker 8 (06:52):
I just feel like the mindset is knowing that we
didn't have that much sleep and everybody just think, oh,
they just flew in, Like yeah, we had an energy,
Like okay, everybody think we you know, we just days
a sleepy and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
We were ready to go.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
We were ready to go and get home.
Speaker 8 (07:03):
So that's what we did.
Speaker 7 (07:04):
You heard about other people were saying and that you
felt a point to to prove otherwise, Oh.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
Not just you know, try to prove them around, just
showing that, like, you know, we built for stuff like this,
like we flying all the way over here across the
country and it's like just what we do.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
So where do you feel like you guys are having
after seven games?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I feel like we might we need to be when
we took the we learned the lessons we had to learn.
We realized what it's like when we put together four quarters.
You know, obviously there's a play here there where we
uh got lack of days before we didn't stand to
our true standards. I feel like we're in a good
place right now, but the only thing we can do
is get better.
