Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Rams. Can you tell us a little
bit about your phone call?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Yes, ma'am and thank you. Uh So, I was actually
just watching. My agent had called me maybe like two
picks before.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
He was like, have you heard from like the Rams
or anything yet? And I was like, oh no, not yet.
He was like, okay, just just let me know.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
And then as soon as like I hung up the call,
I think the next pick went on and then I
got a call from an area code out in LA and.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
So I picked it up.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I called and actually mister Ray Farmer, somebody who I'm
good friends with.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
He was like, what's up? Can I say it?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
And then you know, we just we chopped it up.
He was like, its Ray Farmer, things like that. He's like,
tell your pots.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
I sell us up and.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
He let me know that if I was ready to
be a RAM man. So that's kind of how it went.
And then I got a chance to talk to all
the coaches, which is exciting and it was amazing, so
surreal moments for sure.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
You know, I started tearing up a little bit, just
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Can you expand a little bit further on that personal
connection with between you and your dad and Ray and
how you guys are all connected or how far back
you guys go.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
It's actually we've been knowing them for a while.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I can't recall exactly how we met, but I know
it was through like mutual friends, and I guess it's
been since like around middle school and kind of like
my dad and him just kind of grew a strong
bond for a long a long time. I think it
was through mister Algie Crumpler or something like that, but
we just continue to grow up bond throughout.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I've been talking to.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Him throughout my whole college career, even when I was
in high school. You know, he was just giving me advice,
helping me along the way and things like that, and
just letting me know just to continue to work hard
regardless of how things look and situations. It is, so
he's just he's just always been there someone to help
for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
What's your welcome? First of all, congratulations, thank you. As
soon as you process right, you're getting drafted, then I'm
guessing the next thought that comes into your head is
Davante Adams Phoka Nakua to to like joining a room
with these guys that I know you're used to watching
and studying. What does that mean to you? And I

(02:13):
guess what are you most looking forward to about that?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
It's just truly a blessing just being able to be
in a room with those guys coming in Like like,
I feel like I'm a student of the game, and
I love to watch film.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I love watching football.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I love watching every single one of those receivers in
that in that group. You know, they do everything so
like different and so well. So, you know, just being
able to come in and just learn, soak everything up,
work hard, uh, and be able to just learn it
and and just get everything from those guys is amazing.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
And then being going to pitt We know Aaron Goes.
I mean his name's on the weight room right going back.
Did you ever used to see him working out around there?
Uh in the summer or did you ever run into
him or anything like that? What was your what was
your impression if.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
So, Yeah, he used to working He used to work
out there all the time in the summer.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
When he would come back.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
To Pittsburgh, he's he's in there tossing up crazy way.
I know you're seeing the video not too long ago.
So he was coming there doing those things. And but Yeah,
it was. It's definitely just amazing, Like you know, just
seeing greatness in the building each and every day or
every time that he comes. You know, it's it's motivation
to just to continue to keep working.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
So you have any idea that you might end up
with the Rams based on your communication with them during
the draft process.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Kind of because I mean.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I've talked to the past game coordinator or something and
then he just he told me that how much that
he loved my game, and you know, I had to
connect you with m the Farmer and you know, like
I said, I'm a big football guy and I love
coach like the way coach me vag coaches and the
system and how he uses all those pieces like from
Cooper Cup to pooking the cools.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Just like all these receivers and so like I.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Kind of just felt like my play style, Like I
feel like I'm very embedded into to watching film, rock, running, craftiness,
those type of things, and I was like, I was
thinking it would be a really good fit.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
So yeah, reading some of the scouting on you shows
you have a real knack for understanding space and attacking space.
Can you explain how you visualize and apply that and
then how that specifically fits into what Sean likes to
do here.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
You know, it just all goes back to just watching
the film and then going out there and just taking
it to the field.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
And working on those things, and.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Just just the way that he used it. Like I said,
he used all those players. He's moved people around, putting
people in situations to win and be dominant. I feel
like for me to be able to come in and
watch film like work and learn from those guys in
that room, like, I feel like it'll be amazing for sure.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
What was the emotion today watching the draft?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Uh, you know, it's a lot of most of you know,
of the downs, you know, just trying to remain positive,
but you know you always got some type of doubt
that creeps in just because you know it's it's a
lot going on, and like you said, it's something that
you work hard for your whole life, and so like
I said, it's just truly a blessing even just to
be in in the in this moment, so regardless of

(05:11):
getting picked up or not. So, but it was a
lot of emotions. You know, I had to talk to
my dad outside.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
A couple of times.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
You know, just just to get things off my chest
and things like that.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
So congratulations, Yeah, congratulations, thank you.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I appreciate you, guys, I really do.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, we'll see in person soon.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yes, ma'am. All right, all right baa
