Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with the Rams.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
You know, it was for me, A lot of things
went into it, you know, one the success of this
program too. I'm a West Coast kid growing up in
California coming back home.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Was it a clear choice?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
And then you know, I built a pretty strong relationship
last year with Jimmy Lake, so you know, all those
things combined allowed to an easy decision and just super
excited to be or super grateful for the opportunity and
excited to get rolling.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Having you know, played under Jimmy and Raheem Are.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
I'm guessing you're gonna be able to slip right into
this defense.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Is Is it very similar or somewhat different?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, I mean there's gonna be There's gonna be differences,
for sure. Everybody's got their own flavor. But I am
excited to you know, have some familiarity with the defense,
you know, knowing kind of how we want to attack offenses,
some of the scheme stuff, some of the verbiage.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
So I think that will make.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
An easy transition for me, you know, coming from a
similar scheme and you know, having having someone like Jimmy
Lake that I have a relationship with.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Thanks very much.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
Whyant and Nate congrats on the signing. I know that
you've worked the Zimbabwe flag on your uniform in the past,
and so what's significant about that for you to do
that And is that something that you hope to continue.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, I definitely hope to continue that.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
You know, that is a huge part of my story,
my family story moving here from Zimbabwe back in two
thousand and one, and to represent my family that's still
over there and and you know, the country that I
was born. It means a lot to me, like a
lot of the guys that represent their countries. So definitely
excited to do that in the future and you know,

(01:56):
hopefully I can continue to do that as as I
keep playing.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
And heard a lot about Sean McVay, the recruiter who
was wondering you know what your conversations with with him
were like and you know, uh, just your level of
excitement to get to play under him.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I've had brief convo with with with coach and you know,
he his his reputation is awesome. He you know, you
can tell you he really relates to his guys and
he gets the best out of his guys. And super
excited just for him to give him this opportunity, and
you know, I could tell that they're excited too, and
I think, you know, it's gonna be a special year

(02:39):
with the pieces they're adding, and uh so, you know,
just with a winning coach like that and the success
that he's had, it's it's exciting for a free agent
player to come in under you know that that sort
of leadership.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
Thank you, Adam in a congratulations.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
You know, I've read about how deep rugby runs in
your family.

Speaker 7 (03:04):
I'm curious how your exposure to the sport and playing
it yourself kind of informs you as a football player.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I think it creates, uh, you know, a different instinct
that some guys might not have, you know, especially with
tackling and the form of tackling. Having my dad who
played professional, you know, having him coach me throughout when
I was a kid, throughout high school and even the
tips and stuff along along the way through college and
the pros, I think it's given me a you know,

(03:33):
an edge among some people.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
And like I said, a different instinct, a different perspective.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
So playing you know, playing rugby and having that experience,
I think, you know, impacts my game super positively and
helps my skill set as a middle linebacker, especially.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
How does it inform like the tackling form.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
I think now you know, the game's kind of moved
on from you know, you know, keeping your head out
of it and you know, wrap and roll and those
are the kind of fundamentals they teaching rugby, you know
when you're growing up and starting.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
It, because obviously you're playing without pats.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
So I think just that translates to uh, to football
really well, you know, especially in the open field or
you know, on an outside zone or different schemes like that.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Thank you, Jordan.

Speaker 8 (04:27):
Hey, well, welcome to Los Angeles.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Just kind of wondering your journey to football.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
From growing up in Zimbabwe and moving you know when
you were young, But what was your journey to football?

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Like, oh yeah, so when we first started when we
first moved to the States, uh, you know, we landed
in California and rugby wasn't that prevalent, so football was
kind of the main thing that was similar. My two
older brothers started playing and then I joined when I
was seven in a Pop Warner league and just continue
to of it and grow in that sport, which was

(05:02):
pretty big in northern California and where I grew up,
and so you know, that's where I made all my
friends where It's kind of where my true personality came out,
because I'm pretty calm guy outside of football, but you
know when I step in between those two lines, you know,
your attitude kind of changes. So it was just kind
of the perfect fit sport for me and just had

(05:25):
success with it as a kid and then in high school. Uh,
and you know, the love for the game is just
continue to grow each year and.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Continues to.

Speaker 8 (05:34):
Well, can you tell RAMS fans who have sort of
started dabbling in your tape a little bit? The tackling
is very evident all over the tape, But what else
can you tell RAMS fans about your game? What skill
sets that you prioritize and particularly as you specialize.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
In that in that position.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, I think you know, first and foremost, you know,
leadership qualities.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
And I'm a super vocal guy, uh when it comes
to you know, on the field, and super passionate about
this game. I love this game and football is a
viol on sport and I love the physicality of it,
especially as a middle linebacker.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
That's you know, you got to set the tone.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
So you know, I think my best attributes are, you know,
physicality and leadership and I'm excited to bring that and
to this defense and to this team and to you know,
help us win games ultimately.

Speaker 8 (06:24):
And then you'll be playing with Omar Stets, who ascended,
you know, into a starting role last year.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Have you talked with him at all?

Speaker 8 (06:33):
Have have you kind of started making those connections with
someone who will kind of be your.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Partner out there.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, I've not talked to him yet, but I do
know Omark has played at Oregon State, so you know,
I'm familiar with his game and I've seen I've seen
what he did, and you know, for him to come
into that role last year, it's kind of similar to
what I had to step into, So I know exactly
what he went through. So super excited for him and
his opportunity and excited to meet him and you know,

(07:00):
start growing that that chemistry with them as we uh
as we look to ot as and and training camp.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Thank you very much, and then we'll wrap with Stu.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Hey.

Speaker 9 (07:13):
I know you mentioned growing up in northern California, but
did you have any experiences well with Los Angeles growing up,
and if so, what do you remember about those we
we did not come down here that much, so I
don't have much experience with LA's I do have. You know,
a lot of my friends from high school moved down here,

(07:34):
taking jobs down here. So I'm excited to you know,
be back on the West coast and you know, see
those guys, and it's kind of like a homecoming.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
You know.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
My my parents are short flight away. All my siblings
live either in California or Nevada, so it's just a
it's a cool opportunity for me and my family, you know,
to spend more time together and kind of enjoy this
new chapter.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Thank you very much, appreciating regrets again.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Thank you, all right, that's all. Thanks, Nay, appreciate it.

Speaker 10 (08:07):
Oh, hey, fellow, hey, welcome back. Appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Good to see you.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
How does it. How does it feel to h to
get this done?

Speaker 10 (08:17):
I don't. I don't see you, but it's nice to
hear your voice. It feels great, though, to be back.
I'm just excited for the opportunity, looking forward to continuing
joining this journey with some of the relationships and the
teammates coaches that I built last year, as well as
just having an opportunity to represent my family in a
good light and just compete for a championship.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
In twenty three.

Speaker 8 (08:42):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
You know you guys got you got it done with
the Rams in June, you know, before training camp last year,
it went into the season.

Speaker 10 (08:51):
YEA, how how do you How is it better for you?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
I think it's.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
Obvious, But how do you feel about having this done?
You know going into off season?

Speaker 10 (09:00):
Yeah? Just uh a chance to be my best and
that's all I'm I'm looking forward to this year is
just the time to focus on my craft and fine
tune some of the things that I can improve on, Uh,
with the opportunity to be the best that I can
be for for my teammates, and that's my focus.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
And then finally for me, just learn at least right now.

Speaker 8 (09:19):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
The group, very same group coming back. Yeah, played last season.

Speaker 9 (09:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
W h when what kind of advantage of any do
you think that gives you guys? Uh kind of going
into uh this season?

Speaker 10 (09:30):
I think just uh our ability to communicate, Uh, the
time we spend together off the field, and just continuing
to grow and not really have to recreate those relationships, uh,
and just and just feeding off of each other and
and reaping the benefits when it comes out uh on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Thanks very much.

Speaker 10 (09:49):
Yeah, appreciation, thank you.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah, I call welcome back and congratulations, appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
What is it exactly about, know this coaching.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Staff, these teammates, that's really this place that allows you
you feel like to play your best football.

Speaker 10 (10:06):
I think it comes from leadership, first, McVeigh says the
tone with just how he carries himself in the building
and just giving everybody the latitude to be themselves as well.
And then our coaching staff and our players are just
extremely connected. We have fun doing what we do. When
adversity hits, we smile in it, and and that shows
up on game day as well. It's the same pattern.

(10:27):
Everybody's having fun, everybody's prepared to have something challenging happen
and how you're gonna respond and when we do, we
get to celebrate victories. And it's just the collection of
all those things make it very seamless for me.

Speaker 9 (10:40):
And then in terms of working with coaching plus it specifically,
how has that relationship really benefited you and your tid end.

Speaker 10 (10:46):
Yeah, same thing, just the quality, dude. We get along
well off the field, and we we get to business
when it comes time to get on that grass and
we both have a mutual understanding of how serious and
how important improved it is and just daily commitment to
the craft and and we work well with each other
in that space.

Speaker 9 (11:06):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Take it, yep, Big Yellow, welcome back.

Speaker 7 (11:13):
Just to kind of bounce off of Gary's question, you know,
with coming in after the off season program and even
after training camp last year, like what areas did you
kind of feel like you were catching up on and
like then kind of able to hit your stride as
the season went on.

Speaker 10 (11:29):
Yeah, just to keep it easy, I would just say
my rhythm and just natural feel. I think technique is
always something that you're focusing on, but in terms of
seeing the game and feeling the game, I think that
it takes time and that's the journey that I took
during the season unfortunately last year. And I'm just excited
to be able to kind of get out some of
those knots during the offseason and hit the ground running

(11:50):
come week one.

Speaker 7 (11:52):
We saw you doing like pre practice work when he
trying to get back some of that rhythm during year.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Being able to focus a little bit more on what.

Speaker 7 (12:07):
By getting some of that stuff out of the way,
earlier in the year, Like, what does that kind of
allow you.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
To focus on more or in season?

Speaker 10 (12:13):
I mean, we gonna find out together, that's the truth.
Once I get to that point, I'm gonna take it
step by step and grow this offseason and in those
areas that I do find and improve upon, that's the
results I'm looking to see. Who come game to cool Minx.

Speaker 8 (12:27):
Color Morton, Hey, Hello, welcome back. Congratulation.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 8 (12:36):
Just wondering when the Rams sign DeVante Adams and you
kind of look ahead to OTA's and then to training camp, especially,
what is the process like for a corner of your
experience level to go to workshop with and against a
receiver of his experience level. I guess if you could
take us inside from the dialogue to like what you

(12:58):
want to make sure you guys.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Get to on the field.

Speaker 8 (13:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (13:00):
I think for me personally, it's the first moment where
I get overly excited, where I'm not really inside myself
when I see them sign a guy like DeVonta Adams,
because that's the joy and the passion for me is
being able to compete against somebody like that on a
daily basis and take that training to go to play
on game day and it'd be much calmer, much simpler

(13:21):
because I've had elite reps against guys like Davontae and
Pooka Coop when he was here. But those are the
moments that I love, and just being excited of a
space that's improving and trying to take the next steps
and want them to be a.

Speaker 8 (13:34):
Part of it. When you look at what this team
has done, not just this offseason, but I think the
external narrative has been exceeded expectations for a couple of
seasons relatives to sort of that sprint, rebuild of the
roster and the draft class developing. What do you see
this team as capable of this year? Having come so close?

(13:58):
And I guess do any of the lose that they've
made so far in resigning yourself included sort of signal
anything to the outside world about what you guys believe
you're capable of.

Speaker 10 (14:07):
Yeah, I think obviously the goals super Bowl without blowing smoke.
That's our focus. And then second is just improving off
what we did last year in whatever little ways we can.
We saw how far it got us, but that doesn't
promise improvement the next year. So that's our that's our
idea is just to keep getting better individually, keep growing
as a team, which I think we've done, and adding

(14:27):
the pieces that we need to be an overall a
better football team than we were the last calendar year.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Thanks Kell, and then we'll wrap with with one, Hey, Kell,
welcome back.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
I know that you and nay Lamon just miss each
other at Colorado, But were you able to be around
him at all either as a recruit.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
For with you as an alumni?

Speaker 10 (14:51):
No?

Speaker 6 (14:51):
And what do you think someone like him brings to
the defense? Just in your observations then of him and
the pros.

Speaker 10 (14:57):
Yeah, I don't have any experience with him when I
was is there, but from what I've seen, a hard
nose player and looking looking forward to getting to nor
them and competing with him.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
And you know, as a veteran in a defense that's
you know just kind of developing and you know, getting older.
How what responsibility do you feel to kind of you know,
nurture some of the talent and the younger players on
that team?

Speaker 10 (15:23):
Uh Man, I think just being myself where that responsibility lies.
I think will be organic with each individual. I have
healthy relationships with all all of my teammates on defense, offense.
Uh and just like like I've said, just looking forward
to building and being better and taking those to the
next level as well this year.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Thank you, appreciate you
