Speaker 1 (00:00):
Not everyone at once. I thought they were really good.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You know, I think you know what I like, Sarah
is that there was some back and forth, but the
plays that were made were earned, you know, it was
it was good competitive ball.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
I like the way that our guys are towing the line.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
But I thought the backs are really doing a good
job pressing the line of scrimmage. You know, there's some
times that the defense makes it challenging. But you know,
I thought led By, you know, ron Gould does such
a great job with that group. But I thought all
of those guys really showed well. I think Kiren and
you know, Blake both, you know, you could see them
they pop some really good runs and then you know,
even Ronnie had a really good one towards the latter
part of practice. But those guys are doing a great job.

(00:35):
They're so conscientious and you know, please with where they're at.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Since Pruna signed, that was going a consistent on the
leagues in the organization that.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
He has something it's unlocked in the pass rush.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
What did you guys see on tape or just about
his attributes to that hite You think.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
That they were sitting there well, you know, I think
the first thing is he is a complete player.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
He's obviously excellent on the early downs, but you.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Know, the twitch, the ability to be able to work edges,
you know, use his leverage to his advantage. He's a
guy that we're very familiar with from just going against
him when he was in Seattle in the earlier parts
of his career, you know, went to Buffalo for that year,
and then last year. I mean, you watched the tape
and it's it's hard to find a play that he's
not productive on.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
You know, I thought he was so consistent.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
We talk about how important that is to you know,
to be consistent snap in and snap out, and you
know he's he's been that so far and it certainly
isn't limited to the early downs.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
But you know, we're really fortunate that we were able
to get him, and I'm glad he's with us.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Two part question, Oh here we go.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Is there any way Matthew participates.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
In JUG through tomorrow or is he no?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Just because he'll he'll be doing a workout on his
own during that time period and so he is able
to do a little bit more, which is good and
and you know things are progressing well, but he won't
take part in the jog through because he'll be doing
some other stuff during that time.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And then what's the second.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Part looking ahead to the joint practice with the Cowboys,
what are you hoping to see and are there any
areas in particular that you're.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Gonna focus on?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
You know what, I think it's a great way to
be able to test our rules go against another team.
I think, you know, Coach Schottenheimer is a guy I've
known for a long time. You know, it's been great
to be able to work with him, and you know,
they got great players, and so I think to be
able to see some different schemes. They might do some
stuff that's similar, they might do some stuff that's different.
These aren't things that we necessarily gain plan for, but
I think it's a good test of our rules. There's

(02:22):
some different front mechanics, some different defensive coverages that we'll see,
some different offensive schemes and personnel.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
So I think it's really.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Valuable for us to be able to get you know,
all three phases, some different work that we wouldn't get otherwise.
And really for a lot of the guys that, as
you know, that don't play in the preseason, you know,
that's super important. Those practices in essence supplement the preseason
games for us, We heavily lean towards getting more reps
for our starters, and so that's been something that we
feel like has serviced well. But it's still is in

(02:51):
a controlled setting. Well knowing that, you know, sometimes things
can happen, but we feel good about that and you know,
we got good work with them last year and looking
forward to it again.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Where you start in particular, you are you going up
against scrimmage like that with the Cowboys? What are you
specifically looking for, especially offensively what you said, guys that
haven't really participated doing camp, but they're just they're optimunity
to do.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
So yeah, really in the scrimmage is Nick, you know,
we're looking at a lot of our starters get the
majority of those reps, and then the other guys will
end up playing the majority of the time in the
preseason game. So that's where it's really beneficial for us
to be able to get our starters.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
You know, what would be close to equivalent to a game.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
You know, you try to get about fifty minute fifty
shots of work.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
You get a bunch of different situations.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
You're getting normal down in distance, you're getting some third
down get back on track work, you're getting some red area,
some high friends.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
You'll get a two minute drive, and.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
So that's beneficial to be able to get you know
what inevitably does come up in the majority of the games,
and so it's going to be a good thing. It's
in a controlled setting, So we feel good about that.
And they've been a group that we've worked with before
that's gone really well.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
We have guys want Johnson running forty yards down the
field with your with Tyron Williams.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
What type of message does that say to the team.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
That's what we're looking for.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
You know, Gift Smith does such a great job, and
you know coach Schule preaches in and coach Cannigla really
all of our defensive coaches pursuit of the football effort.
Des is a great example on that player talking about.
But we try to highlight good examples of really all
eleven perst into the football, especially once the ball declares.
I think that becomes an unconscious competence that.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
We're looking for from our group.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
You know, you're creating that muscle memory, and you know
that's good to be able to see from desk.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Can what hes talk to me about the camp that.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
He's been awesome, you know, I know, you know with
some of the things that he worked through in the offseason,
he's so mentally and physically tough. I think he's been
able to just continuously increase his workload. Gifts done a
great job with that. But uh, Braydon Fisk is a
total stud. He's got higher standards for himself than anything else.
And I sure have high standards for him. But I
love what he's all about. He is a grown man

(04:49):
for a second year player. He plays the game that way.
He's tough, he's smart, he's competitive, he's everything that we're
looking for in a round.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
When heard him bring to your quarterback rome and also
what do you want to see?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
You know, here's what I think he brings. He brings
a wealth of experience. You know, he's going into year twelve.
He started and played in a lot of big time games.
He's he's won a lot of games. He knows what
it takes.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
He's got a charisma and a presence too.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
You know, we're so fortunate to have Matthew, but to
have the luxury of having a guy that you guys
have heard me talk about it that I think is
a starting quarterback in this league to be able to
come in and do a great job. And really, I
think both Jimmy and Stetson have been excellent. You know,
they've gotten a lot better. We'll look forward to getting
number nine back out here, but I just want Jimmy
to continue to be himself and you know, and that's
more than enough. And he's got a great way just

(05:35):
with the way that you know, he's just got a
great vibe about himself. And you know what I like
is is, you know, sometimes things don't go perfect as
a quarterback, but what does the next snap look like?
I think he's done a great job of being able
to responding the right way. Stacket some good plays, and
I think today was a good reflection.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Of that of growth that you've seen in Stetson, especially
not just just this camp, yeah, prior too.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I think the biggest thing is is, you know, number one,
I'm seeing a lot of smiles out here. You know,
I think guys are at their best when they're immersed
in the moment, they're enjoying it. This is still a
game that when people are at their best, they love
everything that in a companies and that's you know, whether
it's pursuit of mastery, the challenge is overcoming adversity. But
I just feel like he's a guy that's totally present.
I think the other thing Nick that you don't take

(06:16):
for granted is the command of the huddle. You know,
how clean can you look at the other ten guys?
Communicate clearly, formation, snap count, any sort of adjustment that's
necessary the concept and we have some already calls and
sometimes we'll call two plays in the huddle. He's done
a really excellent job. I think David Gohon deserves a
ton of credit, and really, you know, Matthew Stafford for
the way that he's meant toward him. Those two guys,

(06:38):
I've just been so impressed with the way that they
poured into him. And it's really fun to see where
stets are at. He's he's done a great job. And
you know, it was a really cool connection that he
and you know that that he made with a bunch
of guys.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Today again, one.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Year with Bobby Wagner, you tended not to invest a lot,
either in terms of money or a significant draft capital,
and the inside linebackers why philosophaque.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Have you chosen me?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
You know, I wouldn't necessarily, you know, I think you
don't ever want to pigonnoy yourself into an all encompassing approach.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
I think there's some players that.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Maybe the rest of the league doesn't value that we
value and we kind of know about inside. You know,
I feel really good about this group. Greg Williams does
an excellent job. Nate Landman's had a really good camp.
Troy Reider is a guy that's played a lot of football,
and I think gomar States is ready to really take
the next step going into year two. He did a
great job coming in as an undrafted free agent. I
think we've had some success with guys that are unheralded.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
You look at Corey Littleton.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Obviously, we invested a third round picking Ernest Jones a
few years ago, and he's a total stud. I'm happy
for the success he's had in Seattle, but I think
sometimes that's just the way that it played out.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
You don't like to pick we used on foot, Paul.
I'm just messing with you.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
What do you what are you?

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Obviously I know he's been a little bag up, but
just where is he sort.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Of at in the process.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
It's hard to say because he just got out here.
He has done a nice job. We're kind of just
easing him back in because he did have a calf.
Sean Dolax another guy that as an undrafted free agent
I had a really productive collegiate career. Been really pleased
with him. So, you know, I like that group as
a whole. We're excited to watch those guys compete.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
One line wise and and how critical is that going
to be?

Speaker 1 (08:13):
So that's a big question. Uh, you know, here's where
I think we're at.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
You know, certainly we we we can't wait to be
able to get Aleric Jackson back out there.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
He's a stud.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
He's working really hard in the meantime, and I feel
fortunate that he's able to get some good work, even
though it's not in some of these team settings.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
That'll be a benefit.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
But uh, you know, Rob Havenstein and Coleman Sheldon I
think have done an excellent job.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
You know, guys that are some veteran presence.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I've seen Steve Avila and Kevin Dotson take steps in
the right direction. Warren mcclennon is a guy that you're
seeing play right tackle, play left tackle.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
You see Bo Limmer play all three interior spots. Just
in deeed Itch is another guy that's got work. Uh.
And I'm really pleased with what David Questenberry has done
as a veteran player that's shown that he can.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Really play left or right tackle. DJ Humphries has come
in what seems like he got here yesterday.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
I had a couple of zoom meetings and then he's
out here on the practice field.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
So we're growing a lot of work to do.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
We know that you're gonna probably end up playing with
nine offensive linemen at some point. You hope to be
able to stay as healthy as possible. Last year was,
you know, a good eye opener for us. We better
do a good job of building depth. You can't have
enough guys that have played meaningful football and that are tough, smart,
competitive and communicate with one another. And I think Ryan
Windell has done an excellent job. I really feel fortunate

(09:26):
for the leadership that he provides. And then some of
those guys I mentioned at the earlier.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
Report when gys had the biggest standout and taking a step.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Forward in this game.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Oh, you know, it's hard for me to single one
guy out. I think, you know, you've seen the usual
cast of characters do an excellent job. You know, I
certainly notice, you know, Kobe Turner, even though he hasn't
been out here the last couple of days, he and
Jared Vers have been. You know, stable guys, Braiden Fisk,
You've seen Poona Ford, Byron Young. You know, I've really
felt our front make their presence felt. Nate Lambman is

(09:55):
a guy that's that's done an excellent job. And then
you know, Quinton Lake seems like he's always around the football.
I think all of our corners, led by Aubrey Pleasants,
have done a really good job, you know. And then offensively,
you know, I could name a bunch of guys. Devonte
Adams really shined yesterday, and then you see Pooka Nakua
make you know, incredible plays, and you know Kyroen. So
we feel really fortunate that a lot of guys are

(10:16):
doing what they're supposed to do. It's hard for me
to highlight one guy individually. And that's what I love
about this It's the greatest team sport there is and
I really love this team.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
In fact, two ball this one and is.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Matthews one of these workouts on his own.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
What are those details?

Speaker 2 (10:32):
You know, you'll have to ask Reggie Scott a little
bit more particularly, but you know, it's really just kind
of it's static throwing, it's some of the unloaded running
on the treadmill.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Sometimes it's might even be walking. He's able to do a.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Little bit of you know, lighter cardio and and able
to do some good core work. But it's more just
functional strength surrounding the area while making sure that you
don't do anything to set yourself back based on the
trajectory that he's doing. Uh. But we are looking forward
to getting him and easing him back into football, you know, hopefully, uh,
you know, in the in the near future.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Adam last one.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
There you go. Thanks? How long do you think that
there's gonna last?

Speaker 3 (11:08):
But I think it got another a week or two
in it for our I think I'm gonna cut it.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
How's practice pulled out.

Speaker 7 (11:16):
I think it's been really good. I mean I feel
like we're developing pretty fast. I think we got more
stuff in than we had last year. The cohesion was
there from day one, Like it's it's not a team
that we feel like we're building up the rapport with
each other. I feel like we just bringing on the
young guys so we all feel together right now?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Was it like working with this year?

Speaker 7 (11:36):
It's always great working with Covid And he's like the
smartest center I've ever worked with. Uh, he's he's talking
a lot. He tells you everything that you need to know.
So it's if he makes the game easier, you get.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
The most out of the happy joint practice.

Speaker 7 (11:49):
Doing how Pat, It's just you know you've been going
against your own teammate for so long that it's just
time to go against real like competition to the where
you can go fool out and you know that you
know you're not gonna hurt your your team by going hard.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
So it it lets you just kind of test yourself out.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
What how?

Speaker 4 (12:09):
How is that every thing that you just go ahead?

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Go ahead? What have you seen from warm but Clinton
and County?

Speaker 7 (12:14):
Oh he's dog, He's he He's always ready no matter
where they put him at. And I think he's ready
for any time anytime they throw him in. It doesn't
matter what time it is, what game it is, what
person it is that we're going against.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
I trust him, trusting everything he does.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Sean was saying, you know, for the starters, the joint
practices really are your preseason because.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
You're going to play in the preseason game.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
How do you view that and the Cowboys specifically working
against them and with them.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
What's what's your experience is?

Speaker 7 (12:46):
I mean, that's that's that's how I use it as
I use it as our preseason game. You know, really
want to see how I'm stacking up against you know,
high caliber players and people from other teams. So you know,
you get to see how you stack up at what
you need to work on going forward forward?

Speaker 1 (13:03):
What's the scout on record?

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Down the pun up? It's nice.

Speaker 7 (13:06):
Hey, he's straight, strong, lower to the ground, but he
still has twitch, he's still heavy, So it's it's a
great combination of, you know, what you really want from
the detach, great in the run block, surprisingly quick in
the past, so it's like he has everything.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Some former players have talked about, like his combination of
lower shoulder pads.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Longer arms.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Give me your difficult as a matchup? What is it
about that matchup that can be really difficult against.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
The words It's just him being able to touch you first,
but at the same time having weight behind the punch,
So him being already like six foot, he's under your pass.
He has leverage, his arms along, he has weight, so
everything is going in his favor.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
So imagine you have a.

Speaker 7 (13:52):
Three thirty three forty with a stout arm and it's
longer than you.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
It just doesn't let you get into his box. How
do you.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Guys evaluate yourselves at this stage of camp as an
offensive line and how does that change as you get
closer to open And you gave I.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
Think we really just we're really tied in with our
d line and we ask them, We talked to them
so much that you know, we kind of see our deficiencies.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
We kind of asked them, how would you game plan me?

Speaker 7 (14:22):
Like, what do you do if if we're going to
get each other in a real game, how do you
see me? And that's the thing that we really like
to do with our defensive line and our linebackers. Do
they see any cues that we're giving off? Do they
see a weakness of ours that they like to go
at and we just kind of go off that throwing
ideas off each other.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Is that off field or are you guys asking questions
in the course of a scrimmage.

Speaker 7 (14:48):
You can do it. We do it anytime. Anytime that
we feel like, hey, that felt kind of weird. I
feel like you got me on something. We're not gonna
hold that information like as a seeker, and we want
the whole team to be bore, so any I mean,
I could could have just got beat with something and like, hey,
did you see something right here? Did I overset you?
Did I am I showing something that I'm leaning.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Or something like that?

Speaker 6 (15:08):
Man, that's what we did, Kay, doc, Can you talk
to me about the strides that great fistus make this
year's Oh yeah, he's he's one of the guys that like,
like he just asked you give him that information of
what he's doing.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
He changed it at the next play. It's not gonna
happen again. And he likes to just transform himself. Even
from last year he was he was more of a
wild kind of guy in his rush. Now he has
more tempo thinking about what he's gonna do before he
does it, and he's just a smart guy. So it's
it's he just keeps building on top of what he
did last year, and you could feel it, like Kevin,

(15:40):
can you talk about earlier George Joint kept us come
out early, you get to have a sense and things
like that. How is that good in the rookies and
things like that coming out earlier and the process.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Man, they take a lot of information too. Man. We
have we have some really receptive guys on the old arm.

Speaker 7 (15:56):
They take information without any type of you know, feeling
like I'm belittling them in them or anything like that.
You know, if they if I see something, I say something,
they take that information. There's no fuss about it because
they know I have nothing but great intentions for them.
So I give them that information, they take it and
they you know, they perform.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yeah, I think that fis
