Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, guys, you know, I really liked what our team did.
You know, we face some adversity. Part of the reason
that we wanted to play is figure out how to
be able to dig.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Deep, play some complimentary ball.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
We go down three points and then we end up
getting stop after stop. The kicking game was doing what
they're supposed to do, and you get three touchdowns. The
next thing you know, you look up, you're up seventeen points,
and that's how you close the game out. I thought
Matthew was in total command the whole day. Puka was
outstanding higbee. I thought we got the run game going
as we started to settle in.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
It's a unique game.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
You credit them for being able to make some different plays.
They made it difficult on us to be able to,
you know, get any of our chunks, and you know,
we were able to sustain some drives, but coming away
with field goals early it was a big time throwing
catch by Matthew and Pooka on the fourth down. But then,
you know, you could really see it was an awesome
job of just being able to settle in and do
the things that we needed. I like where we're at
right now, and now we move forward and what a
(00:51):
great opportunity we've got to go to Carolina and.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
See what the hell we can do.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
But it was a good day for the Rams, a
lot of good learning ops and think we came out
of it fairly healthy.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
The stars as you had to. And how good was
it for you guys to get.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
All those things are exactly right, Drod. I think that's
exactly what we wanted. I thought it was great to
get pushed. Didn't really, you know, have a plan other
than we came in to play good football and to
try to win the football game, and we were able
to accomplish that. I think a lot of things just
kind of naturally and organically kind of came to life.
And the thing I was the most proud of is
the way that we finished the game. You go down
three points, you're thinking what the hell is going on?
(01:27):
And the guys just found a way to dig deep
competitive greatness, being at your best when your best is required.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
That's what it was. That's what those guys did today.
Proud of the group.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
And now we move forward and cool opportunity to be
able to earn a chance to be one of the
fourteen teams in this tournament, know how difficult it is
and how competitive this league is, and go.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Back to a place that you know ended up.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
You know this team, this team humbled us in a
handful of weeks ago, and so what a great challenge.
And as a competitor, if this doesn't get you excited,
then I don't know what the hell you're doing.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah. I thought they did good job.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I thought we played at our best when it was
the most important. Obviously, you've got to be able to
clean up some of the explosives that we gave up.
I thought it was a big pick by a Kellow
at the end of the half to allow us to
be able to get three points.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
You know.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
So I was pleased with that, And we'll look at
the film. Those always things, Nick, in all three phases,
we can clean up. And to answer yours questioned Sarah, Yes,
I think Matthews the MVP of the league.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
He played that way. Wouldn't want anybody else leading the way.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Got a lot of respect for a bunch of people
in this league, but there's nobody I'd rather have be
in the quarterback of the LA Rams than Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
His play speaks for itself.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
He was how'd you think pretty damn good, didn'ty Dennis?
You know, I thought, you know, we were not expecting
him to play that many snaps.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Terrence Ferguson got a hamstring on Friday.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
We were thought we were gonna kind of just get
him back in the mix, and he played a ton
of snaps, did a great job, and I thought he
was outstanding, you know, to be able to have five
catches for ninety one yards and to make some of
the plays that he made. You can just see there's
a swag, there's a confidence. He is a true glue
guy for us, and it was awesome to.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Be able to have him back out there.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Evaluate Yeah, I think the biggest thing that I would
say is, you know, there were some things we can
learn from, but that's why you play a full four quarters.
And I thought, once we went down three, kind of
looking like, man, how did we get into this position.
You give Arizona credit, they made the players to be
able to do that. But what I love the most is,
you know, one of the things that we've emphasized is
when we have those moments, let's snatch that momentum back,
(03:30):
Let's play complimentary ball. And then for us to be
able to go on a twenty point run and then
to be able to finish it out the way that
we did with the defensive stop, and then to be
able to nee it out.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
That's what we like. So I was pleased with that
last year. I'm just kidding. So today Davanta Davante too.
So yep, we have players.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
Up.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
It's big.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
I mean, injuries are inevitable, it's an unfortunate part of
this league, and and guys are gonna be asked to
step up. And I thought those guys that you mentioned
in particular have done an excellent job. Really, you know,
I like the depth of our football team. We've had
to really dig deep in a lot of instances, and
guys have answered the bell. I do think we're getting
healthy at the right time. You know, we'll see what
it looks like for those guys that you mentioned. It's
(04:27):
been good to get a few of them back out
on the practice field. And I know that we've always
had a goal in mind for Davante and and Quentin
Lake in particular, to be able to get them back
ready to roll.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
They got that good look in their eye, and we'll
be still optimistic about Kadod as well Byron Young's Okay, yeah,
I got a little stinger that was.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
I'm glad that he's going to be Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I was pretty pissed there particular. I think that all
I'm worried about is being able to look at this film,
clean it up and then start diving into Carolina. They're
a great team. I mean, they beat us, and so
we know how they played us. You know, they did
a great job of being able to earn that win
a handful of weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
We'll look at what's occurred.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
In the uh, you know, in the meantime since we've
played them, try to put the better together, the best
game plans we can, to put our players in positions
to go be successful. And we're coming out swinging, and
that's what we're gonna do, and we're gonna do it
one day at a time, and I'm not worried about
anything else other than the Carolina Panthers. And if we
earn the right to play after that and then we'll
talk then okay, thanks guys, go ahead, feel.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Down three. And then also you guys scored, Yeah, talked
about yeah, you know it was, uh, that is what
needed to happen, you know, and kind of put our
minds to it. We obviously didn't start the second half
the way we wanted to on offense, really defense, especially
as all of it kind of you know, it was
like a you know, it didn't They did a nice
(05:53):
job opening the half. We did not. But there's a
lot of football to be played. We knew that, and
you know we were able to you know, string some
drives together. I thought our tight ends played outstanding today,
battled you know, and played a lot of snaps, so
you know, Higgs to come back and play as many
snaps as he did was outstanding. Got our backs, you know,
played good and uh, you know everybody. It takes everybody
(06:16):
to play well. So just proud of our team, proud
of our resilience. It's never going to be perfect. And
I go, you know, score every time you touch the ball,
you know, touchdowns, so you know, some things to clean up. Obviously,
wish we would have capitalized on a couple of the
turnovers with touchdowns not field goals. Good two minute drive
to score some points, but yeah, I mean it's it.
It was an NFL football game. That's what it takes
(06:36):
to win, and we did it.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Good.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
I guess, you know, what do we have in the
first half? How many we have? Thirteen? Sixteen something like that, Yeah, thirteen.
You know, we got the turnover and settle for three.
Wish we could could have could have converted there and
maybe kept that drive alive, maybe go down a good touchdown.
But it was okay, you know, it was I thought
they had a nice little game plan, did a couple
of things that were were good that we had to
adjust to, and then I thought, you know, our coaching
staff at halftime did a great job, you know, talking
(07:05):
about some things, you know, stylistically we might do to
to change it up, and then we went out there
and executed it.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
I think it's considering where everything was in camp and
the question mark here you are end of the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I mean, it feels good.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
You know.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
It's a lot of hard work.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
You know, some luck involved too, you know, and and
uh uh, I got guys up front that are keeping
me up right. I'm able to get the ball out
the guys that are getting open. So it's a it's
a collective effort, but a lot of people that helped
me throughout the weeks that you guys never see that, uh,
you know, help me get the game days and play
play free and play well. So I'm appreciative. I love
playing this game. I don't take any of these opportunities
(07:51):
to play on a Sunday, you know, for granted. And
you know, I think I think our team is the
exact same way. We enjoy getting out there and playing together.
You know. Luckily we have you know some more some
more times to do that. What's up? Oh yeah, you know,
really good defense, you know, timely guys make a big
(08:12):
plays on offense for them too, in the skill position area.
So it'll be a big challenge. We didn't play as
well as we can last time we went there, you know,
so we'll we'll look at the tape, figure out how
we can kind of be better from that game from
what they've been doing lately, just like they'll do to us,
and go out there and and you know, the team
that plays better, you know that day we'll win, and
you know we're going to do everything we can to try
to make sure that's us. I don't know if it
(08:37):
was today or the whole year. I mean, I'm just
trying to do as best I can, man Like, Uh,
it's trying to play the game the way I know
how to play it. You know, it felt like I
had a nice season and really just proud of our team.
You know, this is an award that.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
You know, is is earned by everybody.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
You know, you can't just go out there and have
a great statistical year and and uh, you know, not
win any games or do any that kind of stuff.
And there's so many guys that have contributed to a
season like that. And and I got bigger fish to
fry at the moment. So that's what I'm gonna be
worried about. Make it to week one.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I was.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Just hoping I did that. So, uh, we got there,
and then we just held on for dear life. So no,
I mean that's kind of where I was, to be
honest with you. There was some touch and go moments
and and uh, like I said earlier, so many people
that have helped me continue to play throughout the season
got me ready to play for week one, and and
people that you know, go unnoticed and uh, you know
by media and all that kind of stuff, people behind
(09:47):
closed doors. So I appreciate the hell lot of those guys.
And and you know, my family and everybody that supported
me throughout the season. So I'm just happy to be
where I am right now and and moving forward.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
With this team.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Traditional games. Yeah, yeah, it's cool. It's it's amazing. They're
They're my favorite part of life. And it's so cool
to be able to have those moments with them before
games doing something that I love that they've in turn
(10:21):
learned to love and and uh, you know, support me
and our team. It's really fun to watch them blossom
into the young ladies that they are, and and the
fans of of football and their dad and all of
our teammates.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
You know.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
I take them into breakfast sometimes on Tuesdays on our
off day, and and uh, people walk through the door and.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
They're like, oh, there's there's bradon Fisk.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
And you know, like they know people. And I'm like,
it's kind of a good one to know. I mean,
d Lyneman, you know, kind of nondescript. You're like, yeah,
and pretty awesome. You know, I was like impressed. So no,
it's it is it's really fun, man. It's uh, it's
what keeps me coming back, you know, and and it
gets me, it gets me in the right headspace before
the game starts every time. So I I love having
(11:01):
him there.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Uh can you talk about what ynamics are getting.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah. No, he's a special player. You know, he's been
a special player in this league for a long time.
He's been an absolute you know stud for us. And
what a what a teammate has been as well. So
you know, even even in the games where he has
not been playing as of late, you know, his support
of the other guys out there, you know, his communication
all that, it's it's a huge part of you know,
(11:33):
why we're playing the way we're playing. So obviously love
to have him in his jersey and in his pads
out there running routes and catching ball. So hopefully we
get that done. And and if we do, man, Uh,
what a talent, what a player, a guy that can
really affect the game, and and uh, you know has
has done it for a long time and has done
it at a high clip for us this year as well.
(11:54):
That was great. He's uh, he's been such an awesome
teammate since I've been here. What a great teammate to
all of us. You know, he's what's right about this game.
He's what's right about our team. And for him to
come back out and you know, get his feet wet again.
I don't know how many snaps he played, he felt
like every single one. So it was just you can't
bet against a guy like that. And to go out
(12:15):
there and play the way he did, you know, get
in the end zone, do all the things he did
for us today, it's uh, it's a testament to him
as a as a player, as a as a person,
as a teammate. We're lucky to have him. Thank you.
