Speaker 1 (00:00):
What was it like the last kind of weeks as
you went through the three agency process and ultimately ended
up back in La.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Uh, you know, it was out of phone calls.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
You know, I was back home, rest and relaxed in
my body and just patially waiting for a phone call
to come and got a phone call from Sean and
the rest of the team, and it was it was ready.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I was ready to go.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
What made you want to come back to La.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
You know, it always been the first priority in my
mind after the season. You know, I already I always
told my agent that, you know, I wanted to come
back and just like my second home.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
And uh, we made at our top.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Party and this receiver's room is gonna look a little
different without Cooper with Davante.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
What are your thoughts kind of about this group there
now that you'll be in with.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Uh, I'm just excited to play with these guys.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
We're gonna do some good things and UH, just looking
forward to it.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Thank you, congratulating your deal.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Adam Into too, congratulations.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I appreciate you man.

Speaker 6 (01:06):
Yeah, when you're going through the process, how much did
you talk to Sean just about what he envisions your
role to be this year in the twenty twenty five offense.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
We haven't really gotten into that now. You know, I
trust coach Sellan. I have no doubt, no doubt of mine.
He's gonna use me to my ability, and I'm just
waiting for the future. We're waiting for this year. But
we have some good conversations, and I believe.

Speaker 7 (01:34):
In when you know you're decided, like what you said,
it was your first priority to come back here. Why
did you decide to sign before you could even speak
to other teams? Like what was it that you know,
just you wanted to get that deal done as early
as you did.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Uh, just just following my agent Lee for for.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I already I knew the plan but what.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
We had going into free agency, but you know, I
knew we had coming out after the season, and I
told him like I said, I told him that I
wanted to come back and I put my fully trusted
in coach Mavy.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
What was your reaction to the team adding Davonte?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Uh, wow, I was gonna We're gonna do some good things.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
He's a great player, you know, excited to play next him,
and I just can't wait for the season to start.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
See someone you've like watched on film and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Oh, yeah, for sure, you know. Uh, we're two different players.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
But he got some nice releases that I could probably
put in my backpack, you know. But he's a great player, man,
and I'm ready for love to learn from him.

Speaker 8 (02:44):
Thanks too, too, appreciate y hey to to congrats on
the new deal.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
What's that? How you doing?

Speaker 8 (02:52):
How much did you know your connection with with some
of the other receivers and some of the other guys
in the locker room play into how much you wanted
to return into the rams.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Uh? It played.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
It played a part, uh, And one of the reasons
why I wanted to come back, you know, just playing
with Pooka and the rest of those guys is make it,
make it fun, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But I always wanted to come back. That was one
of my main goals.

Speaker 8 (03:24):
Now you mentioned the releases for DeVante, anything else in
particular that you're looking forward to to learn from him
or talking with him about.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Just getting to know him as a person, you know, man,
that's first and foremost, and the ball will come later.
I just want to meet him and see how he
is as a person. After talking to him from we
scrimmaged those scrimmage the raiders and the joint practices. He
seemed like a great person and we could relate to
each other a little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Thank you, Stu.

Speaker 9 (03:54):
Two congratulations, Hey, man, appreciate you.

Speaker 10 (03:58):
Uh, you know, going into life last year, you know,
when you're playing on the final year of a rookie
deal and kind of dealing with that uncertainty.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
What did it mean to you to not only have.

Speaker 10 (04:06):
The performance he did in terms of some of the
career high as he said, but so in turn then
be rewarded like you were, and to get this contract
from that.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I feel great, man.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Just them give me this contract means everything, you know,
because they believed in me and they see what I
did the past years. But you know, I always just
did my part when my number was called and make
the most.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Of opportunities that I had.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
But man, I appreciate them, and I'm just ready to
look forward to this season.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Thanks arry A.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Two two congratulations on the new contract.

Speaker 9 (04:44):
I appreciate you. I can't hear if you're talking, can.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
You hear me?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Hear you? Now?

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Just curious what went into you your decision, you know,
and your agent's decision. You know, to go for a
one year is at all the Rams offered and or
why why one year as opposed to a multi year deal.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Uh No, that wasn't the most day. That wasn't the
offer they did. It was between me and my agent.
You know, we had some long talks of what our
plan was. And uh, my fully trust is in Drew
and whatever Drew says.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I believe that he made the right decision for me
and did the right deal for me.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
And you know it's my job to go out and
perform so we get whatever the case me next year
or whatever it is. So, like I said, Drew did
a fantastic job and I appreciate him.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
With Cooper apparently either you know, going to be traded
or or the Rams moving on from him. What what
are kind of your thoughts in terms of the influence
maybe he had on your career and what it's going
to be like without him.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Coup's had a big influence in my ear, you know,
just coming in and him taking me in from as
a rookie and just him watching me grow as a player. Man,
he's a fantastic player, you know, great guy to learn from.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
When he when when I was down he I can
lean on him.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
It's gonna it's gonna be tough for that leader just
to walk out the room, you know, but you know
we're all grown, so.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
You gotta mand up. But I appreciate him and just
what he did for all of us.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I don't know if you were tracking the situation with
Matthew Stafford before, you know he agreed to come come
back for another year, But what was what was that
like to watch that situation unfold from Afar and what's
your reaction, you know, with him coming back.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I always had plans, like I said, always have plans
coming back, But once I seen Matthew resign, I had
called Drew him like, hey, now, well be pushing. That's
we that's our first priority, Like we gonna see what
they talking about first, you know what I'm saying. But
it was, uh, everything worked out and I'm happy to be.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Back and finally for me, you know, do you expect
you anticipate a bigger role, a larger role with Cooper
moving on to Marcus a free agent. I'm just curious
moving forward, do you anticipate that you'll have maybe more
opportunities forward?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yes, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
You know, like I said, I put my fully trust
in the coaches and they gonna do what's best for me.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Thanks very much, congrats again.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Appreciate.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Then we'll wrap with Greg and Maria.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Congratulations, man, appreciate you.

Speaker 11 (07:42):
Hey, I hear you saying you wanted to come back
to RAMS. That was always the first priority. That's kind
of surprising to some people because of the way that
your usage went down last year and the fact that
like whatever you get on the field for this team,
you've produced, but like sometimes some years you haven't got
on the field as much as other years. What has
what's your mental attitude towards that you you had you know,
you started a lot twenty twenty three, but then last

(08:03):
year your snaps went down. How do you handle that?
And what's your maturity impatience like in terms of like
waiting for your opportunity there.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Just having loan talks with my dad and mom and uh,
just people that I'm close with. You know, you know,
I always gotta way, You gotta wait your turn. You
know when it's my turn, I always make the most
of it. And you know I knew what I was
doing was right. You know, you can't be a selfish
player and That's not what I was raised on being.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
But man, it was anger.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
It was it was it was tough nights and long,
long days, you know, just not playing and whatever the
case may be. But you know, I had to do
what was right for my team and my numbers called
make the most of them.

Speaker 11 (08:47):
Like I said, when you've been on the field, you've
produced night in and night out. So you know, with
the contract like this, it's pretty clear that you're going
to be a major part of the Rams and the
RAMS game plan going forward. What do you think your
your capabilities are, whether you set goals for yourself in
terms of yard EDG, your catches, and what do you
think you can achieve in this league?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Still, yes, I got a lot to improve and show.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I feel like, you know, the last four years I
feel like that I wasn't you know, I didn't show
enough for the lead to see you guys whoever to see.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
You know, but it's more entertained for sure.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Thanks both, Aria, Hey too too.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Congratulations, appreciate you absolutely. When you sort of look at
this situation, this is your first time, you know, in
the free agency realm. Did did you lean on some
of your teammates or ask them, Hey, what was it
like just to get some of the advice on, you know,
how you're feeling.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Not necessarily I asked. I asked Coop a couple of times,
but that was during the season. It wasn't nothing like
too much. But well, I have n't talking to Teddy
Bridgewater growing up. He was my mentor, so you know,
you know, I should shoot him a call and ask
him what it feels like just being a free agent
and he usually usually tell me how it goals or

(10:09):
how it works.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
But you know, I wasn't really. I was worried a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Because you know, it's my first time being into free agency.
But you know, after a while and started talking to
my agent and started talking to teams, it got it got,
it got better.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
With all of the changes that dramas are making, especially
in the last few days. What's it like from your
perspective as a player to kind of see it all
moving around.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Uh, it's just it's it's it's weird. You know.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
You know, one day you in and one day you out,
so you never know, man, But you know, I'm just
glad and happy back to be back, and I'm just
ready to.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Put on the show. Thanks to to congrats again, appreciate
you guys.
