Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're doing, I'm warm up here.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
You get this a sense of what your energy level
might be like running out from the tunnel and run
to the field pre game when we talk to you Friday,
But how did you describe the level would reach when
you reach the end zone tonight? Oh?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
It was almost passed out, just you know, just a
it was very humbling, the love and support I got
from these guys and this team and staff and just everybody.
It was, it was, it was special and very humbling.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
How do you describe.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Getting in the end zone after everything you've been for some.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Time the art game.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah, it's it's hard to describe. Again, I almost almost
passed out from whatever that was. Huh, almost just passed out,
just from being so hyped everybody, the love from everybody
and coming off the field, looking at everybody in the sidelines,
hitting you know, the big rig and it's just it
was very cool, very.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Cool when that play was caught. That's a play that
you've run a lot over your according. So when that
play call came, man getting the huddle, what's going through
your mine?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
There's there's always a chance. And when he calls that one,
you know that that that you're getting the ball. So,
you know, just excited trying to trying to trying to
help this team win, trying to get in the end
zone and and if it wasn't me, trying to get
it close enough to where the next guy can't get in.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
So I know, I know, as as writers like, maybe
we're connecting dots that aren't there, but it did feel
kind of intentional them looking to you. And then, you know,
eleven months since you've been out eleven yard touchdown catch,
have you processed kind of the intentionality of what that
might have been for Sean and Matthew.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
To look to you. I think, you know, I think
early in the week, you know, you started get the
game plan and seeing some players where the ball might
get here, and yeah, I know they were trying to
give me the ball a little bit, just first game back,
and yeah, it was you know, the fact that it happened,
it was special and just uh, you know, I'm just
it's just special.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
As you as you were getting ready to jump into
the end zone, knowing everything that you had been through,
what's going through your mind going, oh, I'm gonna have
to jump?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Oh well, I didn't know I was gonna have to jump.
I mean, I I met a lot of guys at
the pylon throwing, lowered my shoulder trying to get in there,
and I just saw a little opening and figured I'd
take it and then kind of in the air. Didn't
reach the ball, but felt a little bit like the
space jam Michael Jordan and his arms just you know,
and it was like, this has got to get in.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
So kind when you go through an injury like that,
I'm sure it's one thing for the need to feel
right on the field.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Do you have to in your mind test it in
this game situation?

Speaker 1 (02:26):
You know, that's what you know, that's what practice is for.
That's where we opened that twenty one day window, you know,
try trying to get some of that feeling back. And
you know, unfortunately I did have a pretty nasty stomach
bug earlier in the week, which unfortunately didn't let me
get out there to practice on our heavy workday, dog
work Thursday, you know, so you know, missing those some
of those practice reps and stuff like that. That's what
helps you get ready for the game. So not having that,

(02:48):
you know, hurt me a little bit. But you need
to get back there, back out there and practice. This
week and that's what we practiced for to to to
get ready and execute the plays on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
So this isn't the first time you've reached that sound
in your career by just with a with the milestone
almost mars Is or anything specially you do with a
touchdown all like that. Uh, spikey, Well, I just mean
like it's as far as like do you store it
somewhere special or keep your doing.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Anything like that.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, I mean I'll keep this game ball, you know
that Sean gave me, and yeah, I mean, this one's
this one's gonna be special. I can probably keep the jersey,
you know, bring it home. Yeah, this one's special that
I'll remember for for a long time.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
On Kiren's touchdown, you were also right in the middle
of it blocking. He was talking about it in the
locker room and he got a little bit emotional talking
about that, just seeing your number in front of him,
to have that contact like that and to kind of
be in the flow with that in that run surface.
What was that like for you even before you score
the time?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, special. Anytime we get the ball in the end zone,
it's great for our offense and I'm hyped. I I'm
one of the biggest cheerleaders, you know, and for those
guys that are getting in there and just trying to
do my job. And fortunately we were able to get
it in. And I love seeing that dude's score just
as much as I love scoring myself, you know, anybody
on the team. So it's a special.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Was there any moment today that maybe you didn't realize
how much you missed this specific aspect.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Of game day that kind of hit you as you
experienced it. I wouldn't say that. I think more so
missing more when you're not out there being able to
be around the team and travel and just be out
there on game days with these guys. I think that's
when I was missing it more. But yeah, it was
just it's it was awesome being out there, being able
to run around with those guys and try to help

(04:33):
our team win.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
How emotional does it make you knowing that other players
are emotional for you, and are you a prior?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, I'm not a big crier, but it is special
and did get a little emotional, you know. Just before
the game, my wife put together a montage of of
you know, just some clips of me being injured and
going through some of the rehab process and stuff like that,
and that was special seeing me with my daughter with
you know, knee brace, not being able to walk very

(05:02):
well and uh like that, that got pretty emotional. I'm
not a crier, but yeah, yeah, it's emotional seeing those
guys and the love and supporting is just very humbling.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
What what that's what you make it?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
A two partner?

Speaker 4 (05:17):
What can you tell us? What is that play call?
That particular play call that you scored on this just
called lizard?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, that's what we call. Yeah, keeper block the end,
hold him up for a second, rip to the flat.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
And then finally from me, you guys came into this
game with no injury designations.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
You're back.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
You guys are as strong health wise as you have
been going into this this season. So going into this
playoff push, how do you think that set you guys up?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:48):
A great.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
I mean, you know, day of time, rep at the time,
come in work and uh we got a special team
that cares for each other. And when you get a
unit like that that can play collectively together, can be special.
Find a way to win whatever the conditions are. We
did last week, we did this week, and uh, you know,
time to go do it again next week.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
When were you watching that montage that your wife said
you was that before the game or last.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, she she put it together and I saw it
last night and then I watched it probably four or
five times this morning, you know, just to kind of
get myself, get my mind right. And and you know,
I don't I'm good at being where my feet are
and and and I don't think anything's too big or
you know, make any moment too big. And I'm kind
of happy that this first game back is over with,
just so it's not necessarily about me. It's about the

(06:34):
going and winning games. So yeah, you know, just just
it was just special all all in all
