Speaker 1 (00:00):
Zach Gehlb Infinity Sports Radio and a weekly regular here.
We don't know why, but a weekly regular, we don't
know why he agrees to do this, but a weekly
regular on the Mack and Bone Show. And Gelby sent
some very nice text to us Bone. As the Panthers
were breaking out the belt on the Atlanta Falcons, I
think they finally impressed Glby and Zach Gelber joins us

(00:20):
here to talk about that preview the Patriots game and
talk about Lord knows what else? What's up? Glby? How
you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
You know what? When you were talking about obnoxious New Yorkers?
I think we can now blame you for why the
US is losing in the Ryder Cup because I'm here
and I'm not at best paced black right now.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yeah, that's what i'mous New Yorker, That's the problem.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
The way I was very it was very unexpected what
happened last Sunday. I sort of know what was more
surprising the Panthers beating the Falcons and just destroying them,
or Fitty in that celebration video having a voluptuous rack.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
He's Delby he's wearing it today because he wore it
last Friday. I kid, you not. It took Max three
minutes to help him button that thing up.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
This morning, he's getting bustier, Gelby, it's harder to get
on this week.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Well, Max is usually better at taking those off than
putting them on. No, No, I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Now it's been a while since those baby Maka days. Delby. Anyway,
sorry missus, Max, Sorry about that?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
What's happening here?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
What did you think, Delby? I mean, the defense is
clearly better. I'm not sure we can count on shutting
out opponents. I mean, did you think the Panthers did
the Panthers like, how should we feel? Should that encourage
us at all? What we did to the Falcons last week?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
You should feel happy. It's like you can't be selective
on how the Panthers win games. If I would have
told you that they won thirty to nothing last week,
you would have probably said, Okay, Gelb's doing drugs or
something like that. You would have never believed it. So
the Falcon let me talk. We could agree on one
thing during this season. We love to see the Falcons. Oh,

(02:05):
and you know what I like Bejeon Robinson. They got
some playmakers, but that organization just makes a lot of
bad decisions. Rahiem Or shouldn't be their head football coach.
And Michael Pennick Junior has a problem. And you saw
in the National Championship game, and then you saw it,
you know the other day. When he throws that left sideline,
whether it's a short or an intermediate throw, that's when

(02:27):
he gets picked off. So the Panthers made the plays.
The Panthers defense was really good. You know, I know
that you would have loved to have seen Bryce right
out like three hundred and thirty yards and three or
four passing touchdowns if the score was going to be
thirty enough things. But if I would have told you
they would have won the game last week, you would
have signed for that in a second. So, yes, it
wasn't It wasn't awesome offensively, but there's nothing I could

(02:47):
really crush the Panthers sout.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Do you think that game should give us a lot
of hope gel that this thing might be turning a
corner finally, not that they're gonna win by thirty every
wik Or do you say you know what I need
to see more before I really started to think this
things go in the right direction.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, let's see what happens against New England this week.
Who New England right now do is to know how
to win games. They've been in every game this season
and they only have one victory. They blew a week one,
didn't show up in the second half. Last week, Rimondre
Stevenson was a fumbling machine. So I would anticipate that
the Patriots probably win this week and get to two

(03:21):
and two. But if the Panthers would keep this a
close game in the fourth quarter, and they're gonna need
to play with it being either of them up by
a touchdown or down by a touchdown, so they can
keep on running the football because that's really their bread
and butter and their best offensive playoffs talked about a
Chue Behubbard. But you know, if they could find the
way to get a victory this week, then I would

(03:42):
say it's encouraging. But I do tend to believe that
the Patriots will will even up their record on the
season and get to two and two this week.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
So Gil, but you've been a Patriots fan, so you
know this team sounds like they're probably getting Gonzales back
and they need him badly. With that past defense, What
do you think, what do you think of the Pagets,
What's what's what's going on with this team right now?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, I still think they're a year away. You get
the nail right in the head. They're missing Christigan Zales.
That has definitely cost them a game. Milton Williams who
they brought over from the Eagles. He's twenty six years old.
They give a big contract this offseason. Obviously you guys
know that well because I think he had a deal
agreed upon verbally with the Chances before going back to
the Pats. No memory serves me, right, But he's been awesome.

(04:24):
And then you look at offensively, the running backs have
been a nightmare. Gibson put the ball in the turf
from Andre Stevenson, who's good a few years ago. Now
he's fumbled the ball left and right. They need to
unleash Straveon Henderson more. The Patriots don't have any wide
receivers that are really going to scare you. Kashawan Boody
has had a good relationship with Drake May and and

(04:45):
Hunter Henry was was solid last week too, But ultimately
Drake May, who you guys know well being a former
UNC tar Heel he's a good I think he'll be
a good quarterback there. He's working with a lot, but
with not a lot around him. The line has been
better this year, not a lot of weapons around him.

(05:05):
But ultimately he's got to start winning games, and I
think this is the spot where he could bounce back
and have a win. But I do like Drake May
and as long as the Patriots put him in the
right spot. They started to let him run a little
bit more that they don't have him just doing all
these checkdowns all the time. I think he has to
be aggressive because you guys are watching him. He's an
all or nothing quarterback. You know, He's a guy that

(05:27):
could be a Josh Allen, he could be Justin Herbert,
one of those guys that are aggressive. They need to
let him be aggressive and put him in those spots.
So the Pats will probably be, like, if everything goes
right this year, a nine win team. I don't think
they'll get to nine. They're probably going to be eight
and you know, an eight and nine football team at
the end of the season. But with Mike Brave, I
do think they are starting to head in the right direction,

(05:47):
but they definitely do need some more talent around this
football team.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
What's your prediction on the game on Sunday Pats Panthers.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, I'm gonna say it's probably low scoring. This feels
like twenty one thirteen. But let's say something like that
where I think the Patriots will win and what to
spread I think is like five and a half points
that I do think that they will just cover the
five and a half point spread.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
All right, what do you think? I want to get
a national perspective on Dabo Sweeney from you, like, what
what do you think of? What do you think of
what's happened to Clemson this year? Golby, I went all
in on them, thought they could win it all? And
my god, would does Syracuse want? Especially was ugly, like you,
what do you think about what's happening?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
But I was in high school. My English teacher, a
guy the name of mister Murcovich, would always tell us
about the word hubrits, which is overconfidence that leads to
ones downfall. And in twenty twenty one, I kind of
noticed that with Davos Sweeney, who obviously has done unimaginable
things that Clemson and has made them an a lead
football program. But in twenty twenty one, I said that

(06:53):
Dabo's arrogance is becoming insufferable and it's hurting the program.
So if you're a Clemson fan and your fine with
just win in the ACC, which is the last four years,
have really done so twice because barda State has had
one and then Pitt with Kenny Pickett got one as well,
then that's fine. But this was supposed to be a
year where you could chuck the Zach Gelt of the
world up, and I was actually believing in Dabo. I

(07:14):
called Dada the best coaching college football before the start
of the season. I comes in the National Championship game,
albeit them losing, and through the first four weeks, when
not even in October yet they already have three losses.
They have one win up against Troy, and they barely
won that game because that was basically a loss. So
Clemson has fallen and you can't be talking all that
smack that you did, Dabo, and basically you know, dragging

(07:35):
everyone last week and we're all a bunch of idiots,
and then you fail to get the job done and
you lose to Fran Brown and Syracuse. So this is
the year the rug gets pulled out from underneath them.
They are not one of the ACC Obviously, they are
not going anywhere this year. I don't think Dabos should
be fired, but you even heard Nick Dapans say it
on College Game Day. Nick David's a longer coaching because

(07:57):
Dave image of likes to the transfer portal. You got it.
And it's not easy because right the college football coach
is you know, in theory, the dictator to the judge,
jury and executioner, and they're used to doing it my
way or the highway. Now the player has more power,
and we saw it in college basketball. We've seen in
college football all these older coaches just say or guys

(08:17):
that are established that I don't want to do that anymore.
They walk away. So I'm not saying Dabblish should be fired,
but he really needs to adapt because if he doesn't adapt,
you're going to see more seasons where Clemson is not
winning the AEC rather than when they are winning the AEC.
And this is a team that should win the ACC
almost every year because it has been the last decade

(08:38):
for the most part, than dominated the comp.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Delby are you going to run out to a news
stand on the new York streets and get a copy
of US Weekly. When it drops of Belichick and Jordan Hudson,
I will not the whole You know.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
The Belichick Jordan Hudson thing is is very creepy to me.
I'm sure Mike Lombardi's already online one demanding me to
get off this radio station now because Bombardi builts off
the teeth. That is one Bill Belichick all the time,
and he failed to evaluate players properly over and over again.
Belichick should be Belichick should be coaching the Falcons. And

(09:14):
that's honestly why I can't stand the Falcon and Belichick.
At the end. With the Patriots, it wasn't he was
a bad coach. He was a bad GM and he
just needed more talent. They had some bottom five rosters
and one year they made the playoffs with Mac Jones,
and the other year they were alive in the last
week of the season to make the postseason before they
did loose to the Buffalo Bills. But this is ugly
at UNC, and we saw that obviously last weekend up

(09:37):
against UCF and ow the season started up against TCU
and you have two victories. They're up against two.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Cupcakes all right, Delby. I know it's your patriots this week,
but I hope Fiddy is dancing is semi closed dance
dancing again on Monday morning.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
All right, Well, I'm a respectable man, So if the
Panthers winning this week, I will send you guys a
nice congratulatory tech and I'll probably barf into a bag
if I see Fitty dancing the pro same year.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
That's the only downside of them winning.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Glby, do you know what Fiddy wants to do? Fitty
wants to You know, we got him this good luck
panther thong and he had that on over his shorts
and the victory dance. He has asked for permission to
do his next victory dance in just the bikini top
and the and the thong and nothing else.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Golby, you know what, if you want to show a
little leg, let the man live free.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
All right, it's not the leg I'm worried about.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
What, Uh that may get the push push band if
we have to see that push.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
No one is going to push that pushbony around here
the door. All right, Delby, will talk to you man,
Thanks online one.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Let me tell you right here, Thank you, brother, you
got it, guys well,
