Speaker 1 (00:02):
When come sty. Oh is Mac and bo You guys
are the most entertaining sports program in the world.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Boneb no, no, stop talking. You and I are a
couple eating a lady in the tramp. You're the lady
on the tree.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Yeah, come on, come on baby. I was Boopy Boopy
McLean man. That's a great name.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Oh the Bone.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Oh yeah, welcome in.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
That is right, Mac all aboard the Mac and Bone
show here on this Thursday plenty of Pat Thurs Saints talk.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Today.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
We will recap the big win Farenci State last night
and what they did to Liberty and so much more.
It's Bone, it's the fit dog. It is mac Fitty
somewhere in the building. Usually he comes huffing and puffing
down the stairs. We know he's here, but we do
not see him yet, So hopefully we get back in
here're having trouble connecting with macfitty yet he was just downstairs?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Is he okay? We don't.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
He texted me eight minutes ago wanting to pull even
more audio for him. So I don't know what happened
to the MacMahon. I imagine maybe what it was that
it wasn't McDonald's winning for Mac maybe his McDonald's got
to him like they always got to me.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
You know, he's down there.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
He's down there trying to victory formula for our Atlanta
Falcons today against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There's a lot
going on here. I hear the cleeve, the cleyboards. I
hear the keyboards clanking. The mac man now joins us.
Everything okay, there, Mac, and we started to show at six. Now,
by the way, that's a new rule. We got out
o bad. I totally lost track of time down there.
I honestly thought I had another ten minutes. I looked
at my phone and it was six o'clock. I'm like, well,

(01:48):
I thought it was five point fifty. So that's on me, man,
that is on me. If you guys sound like you
got it off to a great start. Yeah, we had
about thirty more seconds where Fiddy and I just started
talking about Pete A.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Lonzo.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
So it's a good thing he came in. That's where
he was fit. He was talking to the Boltimore. Always
loved that big old polar Bear, always loved a man
the home run, Derby's and stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Had nothing but compliments for this man. Now, he's not
always an Oriole.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Max never caught him weird and awkward before ever, No,
not at all, Man, Oh my god, it been in
baseball fun Fitty. In the offseason when your team gets aggressive,
we resided a baseball world. Now on this show where Mets.
Fitty's Mets are just losing guys. The Yankees act like
they have no money whatsoever. And Max Orioles are the
ones that are went to every freeze out. Beautiful man,

(02:31):
they got the memo last year to Oriols forgot they
could acquire players, and they literally just forgot that was
and it showed. It showed when the season started. So
like how base mankout? Baseball is not rigged for your team,
Mack right now, this is not reliable. The Dodgers and
the Orioles must be stopped. The two evil empires, you
know what I mean, must be stopped. Oh man, all right, anyway,

(02:52):
we got a lot of stuff to talk about today.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Fitty at least thought.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
He maybe would get twenty minutes into the show before
Pete Lad's host hunting from his Mets of.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
My Orioles came up. My bad Fitty.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
And by the way, that McDonald's is it's lingering, man,
it's lingering in the drive through.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
You got ignored a few times there I went to.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I now found a new place. I go over on
Ottle Wild. Now, okay, so they're quicker there. They get
you go. They get you in and out quick. It's
like a NASCAR pit stop. They get you in and out.
Oh that bad boy. But anyway, all right, so uh
let's get into it. Yeah, Falcons tonight, we root for
the Falcons. I've seen I have seen Panther fans on Twitter.
I refuse to root for the Falcons. What are you smoking? Seriously? Like,

(03:34):
I can't stand the Falcons, But how hard is it
when it could help you win a division and you
hadn't been in the playoffs in eight years?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I just I get the whole thing, Like it makes
me stick through for the fact that I get it
was weird rooting for the Saints the other day, but
once they once you start watching the game and start realizing,
holy crap, we could have first place tonight all by ourselves.
If Atlanta wins a game, Why, like, why would fans
refuse to root? Yeah, don't view it as rooting for

(04:02):
the Falcons. View it as rooting against the Bucks. There
you have it, Like, so what do you do not
understand the scenario here? Like, oh no, they get it.
It's like a principle. I hate the Falcons. I won't
ever root for the fault. I'll tell you right now.
I will root for the most hated rival ever and
I have if it benefits my team. Sometimes you gotta do.
Sometimes you gotta, you gotta. You end up with strange job.

(04:23):
Was it strange bed mates? Strange bedfellows? Yeah, that's right, Yeah,
you get a strange fellow. What's that?

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Like?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
What do you they called a strange bedfellow before I'm fair? Yeah,
I've got a strange bedfellow with me. Yeah you you
that is probably look in the mirror and you'll know
about that fitty. But anyway, uh yeah, I have to
be honest with you. What what's okay? So, oh my god,
I rooted for the Falcons and they won. You think

(04:53):
there's still a failure this year? Like I don't understand,
Like what do you think they're You think they end
up jumping us in the division?

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Like I just and I know that.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
My said is literally like two people on Twitter and
every other Panther fan across America thinks they're idiots. But
the fact I saw that, like on Twitter, it's just.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Weird to me.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
You don't have to put on a jersey and get
your dirty bird on, No you don't. You don't have
to move to Atlanta. You don't have to do any
of that stuff. So it's just to me, it's really easy.
I'm desperate to see this team getting the f in playoffs.
It's been eight damn years. I will root for anybody
to help me make that happen. Now, do I think
Atlanta's going to do it? Probably not Bone, But as
you said yesterday, I mean, did we think the Saints

(05:30):
We're gonna do it last week? Like it's just this
day we think this Tampa, This Tampa team is not
some team Bone that they can roll the ball out
against anybody right now, they're.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Not obviously neither a week.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
You know, Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. That's
how that one time I ended up on their mind.
That's you ended up with a strange bedfellow? Is that
what happened there? Is that what happened? So anyway, we
got back her. We got that going tonight on Thursday
Night football. Uh, so hopefully how Michaels stay awake for

(06:02):
this one bone. We do have to talk, but let
me well, let's talk about this Sharon mor thing, because
there's not a bigger story in sports. There's not a
more shocking story in sports than what's going on with
Sharon Moore in Michigan right now. There's all kind of
rumors out there. I'm not sure we should deal in
the rumor's bone. There's all kind of, you know, rumors

(06:25):
about what really has gone on. What we do know
and what has been reported is obviously that Sharon More
was fired. There was a tip that came in outside
of the athletic department and outside of the school at
Michigan to look in, Hey, you might want to look

(06:45):
into this relationship Charon Moore has been in. They investigated
it and they have found that he had an inappropriate
relationship with a staff member. So they fired him for that.
And then we find out yesterday after he was fired,
he was taken into police custody and detained an investigation

(07:06):
into potential charges. We have found out since then. I
know Dan Wetze on Peae Famill reported at ESPN. I've
sure it's been reported in other places too, that it
is an assault situation that he is being investigated for.
And like I said, there's all kind of dark, nasty rumors.

(07:29):
This situation sounds like it could just be disgusting and horrible.
But man, that is shocking. And I heard now two people,
Scott Van Pelt and Josh Pate, have both said basically
that this has been out there, like not to our world,
but to people that are more locked in to college football.

(07:51):
There's been rumblings of something that that this is kind
of going on. Josh Pate has been alluding for weeks
to something big happening down the line, as many other
of the digital college football media world has that there
could be one more opening, something could be happening in this.
Apparently Josh Pate uh of on three ESPN CBS to
Josh pat Show, he's got many jobs, so check got

(08:12):
his uh his great work wherever you can. He he said,
somebody said, yesterday, was this the one that you were
hinting at that could open? And he said, Uh, yes
it was. So they waited till after signing day apparently
per Pate to uh to pull the trigger on this thing. WHOA,
that's what Josh Paate reported yesterday that's e f and
not cool at all. That's again, that's a Josh Paate

(08:33):
report that if they did that, there's a lot of
not cool in this issue, and there's there's quite frankly,
it sounds like there's horrible in this situation. And again,
I don't want to get into the rumors and stuff,
but I'm sure some of you have looked at seeing
this stuff on social media. I don't know what deeper
than like like Bobby Patrino on a motorcycle. This this
feels pretty pretty deep if you go and research. We

(08:54):
don't want to say it because it's all rumors and adiendo.
If you waited to fire him until after signing data
Duke college students to play for you, that's pretty despicable
too all. I agree by Michigan. I can't wait back
to see what the not that. I can't wait to
see the fallout of that. But the fallout will be
fascinating on the college football side, the actual higher because

(09:17):
we just went through a crazy cycle, right and now
all of a sudden, you know, Kawin Debor is getting
linked to Michigan by everybody CBS Sports reports, So that's
their number one target. So all of a sudden that
we have this crazy cycle of movement, and now Michigan's
opened and the top three names from CBS are Debor,
Marcus Freeman, Lincoln Riley. They're gonna go big game hunting

(09:38):
here to try to fix their program right now, So
Michigan's gonna go big game hunting. And if they're going
to take one from USC or Notre Dame or Alabama,
well that'll open that one. So now we have a
whole nother cycle where it feels like many of the
big dogs will be involved in this one. Yeah, there's
a trickled out effect. This already ensures that there's twenty

(09:59):
nine who coaches an FBS football. That's twenty one percent
of the jobs changing hands. Twenty one percent of the
jobs changing hands. And like you said, this could lead
to one guy getting the job, then that person gets
replaced and all you know, who knows how far it
trickles down or whatever.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
So all right, so I love it.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
So now Notre Dame has to fight off NFL suitors
and Michigan for Marcus Freeman.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
God, I love this.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Hey, PDB, how about you stop crying about the ACC
and figure out how to give your coach a damn raise,
you fool. I would think that the boor would be
the most likely to leave. I don't think Marcus Freeman.
Fiddy and I were talking before the show. I don't
think Marcus Freeman would leave Notre Dame for Michigan right now.
I think the NFL is where Marcus Freeman would go.

(10:45):
But the Boar feels like Magne is. He's been linked
to a lot of stuff here, so we'll see what
happens with him. Well, Deboor, probably if he left, it
would be getting out before they get him. Yeah, because
I have to be honest with you, I don't think
it's been good enough. I don't think it's been good
enough for the loons at Alabama. You know what I'm

(11:05):
saying for day Boy, Yeah, I mean we're talking about
is it six losses in two years? They're lucky to
make one playoff in two years. Honestly, they might winning
the ABC. You get six losses, so no man, only
elite five lost teams win the AGACC and football. I
would not be personally, have not seen this, but I

(11:26):
would not be stunned if the board did leave. If
Pops came back for a year or two. I would not.
It would not shock me if Saban went back to
I wouldn't now is it Is it like the first option?
I don't know, but I could see them turning to
him where he says, oh, he's gonna leave. I got
this for a year. Maybe Miss Terry's tired of him,
you know what I mean? It depends if Miss Terry

(11:47):
likes having him around good. But a lot of wives realize,
oh man, it really ain't that great having you around
after all. So I think it depends on how Miss
Terry is feeling about Nick Saban. You know, remember it's
it's still the ft up game of nil that Nick
Saban doesn't a lot, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
He still got that going on. So does he want
to return to that?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
I don't know, man, but I know this, that Michigan
situation sounds pretty pretty screwed up on a lot of levels.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
And it really does.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Forgot to mention that we got to say all that
for the Biff? Is it for the ball give against? Yeah,
they'll be playing Texas and Biff will be the interim coach.
So there you go. The Athletic was able to recycle
their story yesterday Bone on the most interesting man in football. Okay,
well there you go. Yes, they put that back up
on the homepage yesterday. They're playing in Orlando. I think
for the they're in the Citrus Bowl, right. I believe

(12:36):
that could be that could be sleeves off for Biff
On the cold of of Michigan. That that could be.
That could be sleeveless, leaveless Biff. I was gonna say,
what a Michigan man goes sleeveless?

Speaker 1 (12:50):
But I think we found out yesterday a Michigan man
can do way worse. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Anyway, that's another elitist organization right there too. But anyway,
I digress, Bony, I digress NC State. NC State played
a ballgame last night.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Bone.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
They actually showed the hell up on defense against Liberty.
It's Liberty, all right. It's not exactly Kansas, who they
will play on Saturday. But for those of you interested
in this NC State team, I'm sure you watched it
like I did and saw the intensity in which they rotated,

(13:25):
closed out, rotated again. They were flying around on defense.
That was a different level Bone of intensity on defense
against the Liberty team. Bone that you pointed out going
into the game. Yeah, they ain't a joke. I said,
I still wanted a twenty point win.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Bone.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
We almost got a forty point win in this game.
It was a tremendous performance by NC State. But the
thing is, you got to bring it like that on
defense everyfing night.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
You have to.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
So hopefully Bone they have seen that that this is
the way we need to play on defense. Hopefully they
can do that against teams that are Kansas gonna be
slightly more athletic on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
That's the thing. Liberty can shoot it.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Real well, but Liberty ain't exactly going to attack all
those closeouts the way Kansas will when you're flying around
the court. But that was a needed performance I thought
from NC State both. Yeah, that was highly impressive because
it's not shocking that MPTY State would win, but I
would have never had them plus forty in that game.
Liberty is a good program under McKay, so for them

(14:27):
to beat them by forty is rather impressive. It was
one of I It might be one of the worst
shooting box scores for a team I have ever seen
from Liberty last night. Thirty five percent from the field,
twenty one percent from three and then they the cherry
on top of the cake ear cherry on top of
the whatever. Thirty percent from the free throw line. So

(14:50):
thirty five twenty one thirty was this the hell to
ans true? They shot three of ten for the free
throw line.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
There they do.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
That is one of the free throw defense was amazing
last That is one of the worst shooting nights in
the history of wars. Get after it and free throw
defense last night. Seriously, that's awesome. And the funny thing
about it is Liberty is one of the best shooting
teams in the country. That's that's the irony is that's
what they do is shoot. So anyway, hell of an
effort by into State. Scott's so physical. The day before

(15:17):
the game or two days before the game, Van Allen
lubin elbowed Abel in the face. He had a big
old black eye. But that's how that's how intense it
got there leading up to the Liberty they needed it.
They needed to turn up the ef in intensity and
they did. Man, so I listen and Abel brought it
last night. Man, he might play better at a black guy.
He was attacking the basket. State attacked to hoop. Listened

(15:38):
State so much bigger, and you saw it. They were
able to throw it inside, they were able to drive it.
By the way, look at it Fitdty's face right now.
Looks like he just ate the buffalo chicken sandwich at Rby's. Again, Fitty,
you look like you have gas. When NC State is
getting through reas like Joey Chestun after two hundred and
forty two wings in ten minutes last week, that is
a true story. By the way, Fitty, you are right

(15:58):
over there.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Oh, I'm just loving hearing what you're talking about State
beating up on an insurance company. Bernie Bowles wanted me
to deliver this joke. They beat Liberty Bibberty by forty.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
LASTEMU EMU was shut down at the post though. I
tried to get going with a little jump hook and
swatted it. I think you're playing progressive this week. Get
jeddil flow, y'all, she got a jumper. It's wet when
Jamie when his assisted turnover ratio is amazing as well
for progressive.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
When is State Farm on the schedule coming up?

Speaker 2 (16:28):
For the guy the insurance person I at least like
to play with well. Besides, shack in the general could
be a nice two man game roll. But Mayhem Mayhem
would just be amazing foun out four minutes though.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
That's the only problem Mayhem plays for Carolina.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
That's what I call Zaiden High when he walks on
the floor, the Tasmanian devil. When he when he entered
the game on Sunday Mac against Georgetown. I don't know
if y'all heard over the broadcast, the entire crowd has
groaned when when Hubert puts Aiden High on the floor.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Nobody wants to see that. Dude. It's a little dicey.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
It's a little dicey, but he feels like, is he
your first big man in off.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
The pine until we get trembled back and we put
Jaron Stevenson on the bench. That's the reality of the situation.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
By the way, Liberty had twenty six points in the
first thirty minutes of this game. Final score was forty points.
I thought it eighty five forty five, And I still
laughing at I'm still laughing at Liberty, Liberty right now
over here. It's a good line by Bernie Balls. I mean,
he was proud of himself. I'm proud of us. All
the jokes about Lemu EMU and well they were mine,
I guess leave me him in the post and flows
jumper outside bad. I feel like mayhem. I feel like

(17:30):
we had a fun time with that there. I feel
like that was enjoyable. But you know, the State, the
State Farm team with Chris Paul and Cliff Paul would
be the one that Chris Paul you.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Of free time.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
So many nutshots from Chris Paul. Seriously, I had a
question about that. At what point because every time I
post about Chris Paul, Julius Hodge gets involved on Facebook,
kind of on the sneak. All of a sudden, Julius
Hodge will pop up with the comment about his own uh.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
What did he say?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Well last time, well, last week I posted about Chris
Paul about getting Uh it was my middle school picture
of Chris Paul and myself, and Julius Hodge just started
laughing at them. Sometimes it's just an emoji. Sometimes it's
a comment about protect your furniture. He's always got something
to say in there. But at what point in twenty
after twenty years do we blame Julius Hodge for his

(18:15):
goodies being in the way. Get your boys out of
the way, Julius and we wouldn't have this problem for
twenty years. Yeah, that's the tick yourself, that's the ticket man.
So anyway, all right, so that's it. We're still waiting.
We still got one more night to wait before the
Hornets play tomorrow at home against the Bulls, and we
all should be Falcons fans, all right, don't let the

(18:37):
fact you hate their guts ruin that time. We will
give away plenty of Hornets Bulls tickets today on the
show and throughout the day here on Sports Radio ninety
two seven, So stay tuned for that. When we come
back to the CV Injury Will studios, we will talk
Panthers injury updates. The Panthers are talking about flipping that
script on the Saints from the last game, and yes,

(18:58):
the Panthers miss out again.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
Yeah, you know, it's it's great, you know, it's a
I I it's a cool fact. But you know, again,
we understand what the league is like. You know, it's
it's a week tweak league, and you know it's we're
not entitled to anything. So you know, because of that,
we're we're all bought in. The coaches say, we all
stay in the locker room again. We we uh, we
have a ton of respect for our opponent. We know
that we have to do everything we can this week.

(19:42):
And it's easy because you know that's that's if if
we don't. You know, in this league, if you try
to overlook, you look too far, you know, all that
stuff is is gone. So it's not a it's not
us distracting us, it's us giving us our our uh
the best chances just to focus week to week. So
uh not not too peru.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Hey good.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
That's Bryce Young telling everybody yesterday in his presser that
this is just another game. This doesn't feel any different,
This is just another game. And coach Canalis said the
same sort of thing. I think you're both liars. I
think you are both filthy liars if you don't if
Vashteie Hurt literally says, does this feel different? You have

(20:21):
never been in December playing games like this, and Bryce
Young went with just another football game for me, And
it's like, come on, I mean, I get that your
approach to the press conference, you're trying to convince yourself that,
but we ain't stupid. There is no way in hell
bone that this game. Next week's game against the Bucks

(20:42):
there's no way in hell it ain't gonna feel different
to those boys. I was talking to our longtime friend
Kelly Barnick last night matcause she brought that up about
everyone's sort of abiding by the script of what this
game needed means except for one person. One person was
willing to we have the audio of it here momentarily,
but one person, Mackers, was willing to say, this is

(21:03):
more than just a game, right that what? Yeah, Turk Wharton,
this is This is what Turk Wharton had to say
about the Saints.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
At least it sounded like he gave you a real answer.

Speaker 6 (21:13):
I think when we played the Saints last I didn't
like how it went, so watching it just to know
that we're going to play that team and the few
past week stayed in you know, had some chippy games
and that they could have pulled off, and they pulled
that one off yesterday. So not as a fan, as
a villa.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
May kind them on that note, y'all are all pretty
upset with yourselves after that Saints game.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Is there any sort of like you want to get.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Your get back?

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (21:38):
I think anytime you lose you want to get to
get back.

Speaker 7 (21:41):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
Yeah, this is a get back game for us, something
that's in that way of where we need to do.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
So here we go Turk.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
At least Turk acknowledged, well, that's another angle to the
one angle baby get back, the one sorry wrong song.
The one angle is bony. There's two angles here. Turk's
talking about the they beat us last time and made
us sorry because they did seventeen to seven the same.
I mean, the Saints have made nobody look that sorry.
They beat the Bucks. Bucks didn't look this sorry. The

(22:08):
way the Panthers looked in that game was pathetic. Could
not pass the ball downfield, could not run the ball,
Tyler Schuck looked like it all pro deep balls all
over the place. So it's they should feel like, hey,
remember what they did to us last time. We're too
good to let this team do that to us. But
the other angle, to which Bryce and Canalist won't acknowledge,

(22:30):
and I guess that is the way. I guess you
got to handle it like that. But is it's just
another game. It's just another game, and it's it can't
be it just it can't be man. And there is
no way bone that you could put them on a
polygraph test and They're going to pass it if they
try to say this is just another game. This is
the biggest game the Carolina Panthers have played since that's

(22:53):
Steve Wilks run against Tampa and outside of that one,
you probably had to go back another five years to
find a game like this. You know, this is freaking
mammoth Man. But whatever. They got to tell themselves to
make them go out there and play well. Do you
know what game they didn't treat like a big game
was the game after Green Bay when they lost the
New Orleans. So I'd much rather them approach this game

(23:15):
despite New Orleans record not being good. I would much
rather this game Mac have the high stakes, you know,
playoff type feel to it in a way, rather than
just that just another game. Because when he when this
team MAC treats games like it's just another game, it
doesn't go as well. The bigger the game, I think,
the better they're going to be Green Bay, the Rams
treating New Orleans like they're the damn Rams here?

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Please? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Maybeeah, maybe convince yourself there in first place or some crap,
because apparently that makes you show up.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Derek Brown admitted in that game that he did not
think they came with the right mental attitude in that game.
So you guys got to coach Speakott, you got a
quarterback speak it. But I know the butterflies are going
to be flowing for these boys this week. This is
this is absolutely mammoth and I can't wait, and I'm
a static. I'm just so happy that we're in games
like this. It's been too freaking long and I'm so

(24:03):
pumped up myself about it. Now, let's talk about the
injury situation bone. As far as the Saints, I'll start
it with the Saints. Kamara didn't practice, Justin Reid didn't practice.
Kamara hasn't played the last two weeks, but the rookie
running back Devin Neil had a pretty good game last
week against Tampa. As far as the Panthers go, you've
got Christian rose Boom and Cad May's full practice. Dave

(24:28):
Canalis basically said Caid Mays is back this week at center,
and Austin Corbett's gonna move to play right guard Leathan
Ransom as a cast on his left hand. I don't
know if we've gotten an answer of what happened. I
don't know exactly this is a different hand than his
previous hand injury from a few weeks back. But he
was full practice yesterday. He was full go. Then you

(24:51):
have oh, actually this must be the thumb, right. Ransom
hurt his thumb, didn't he. Yeah, he hurt his thumb
in the Rams game. Yes, yeah, that's what this is.
So it's on a different hand than the previous hand injury.
We don't know if it's broken, we don't know what
it is. But he is full of practicing. And then
you have the.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Two guys coming off concussion. You have j. C.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Horn and Claude and Cheri lists still in the concussion protocol.
This is what Dave Canalis said about those guys.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
They are still in the protocol.

Speaker 8 (25:20):
They're doing great, they're making strides, they're clearing all the
things we need them to. And so we have one
more data get out there now in pads to be
able to do some more movement and making sure we
do the right thing for them, getting all the information
we can from them in their movement. But they were
able to participate in a limited fashion today and we'll
ramp it up a little bit more to see if
we can get them out there.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
So there you go Bony. I guess cautiously optimistic, but
until they're out of that protocol, it's not you know
what I mean, it's not a certainty that they're playing
until they get out of that protocol. A couple interesting
important notes on the Saints front. Alvin Kamara, Mac Dnpne
ankle and Devin Neil also is a limited so that
they're running back. Devin Neil has seventy yards in a

(26:02):
touchdown against Tampa. Throw him into the mix along with
Justin Reid. Where you're not you're not listening. When I
gave the injury update for the Saints, I didn't I
didn't know you gave the Saints.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
I thought he started with the panther.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
No I Samar and Justin Reid did not practice. I'm
giving more details on Devin Neil being import and also
there you go, that's kind of the point there. He
had seventy yards in a touchdown last week, So both
running backs would give me I'm not playing at all,
I would think if he was reiterating, I'm following more
up on your point.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
You're trying to drill at home. You're trying to really
drill that point.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Home there that neck in his defense, his computer is
tracking his Duke Championship T shirt, so he's a little constracted.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
I didn't want to mess up with that. I'm also
ordering you. We almost made a bowl game. We were
so close t shirt really close. About his closest fitty
is to get the date to put up with. We
had to put up with George Hudson for a season.
All I got was this loyalty tea shirt. Ac says

(27:01):
Bone should use the selaneous sound effect. I'm sorry, I
wasn't listening. I was lost in your eyes. Oh I
thought me had I completely I completely missed that you
mentioned this. This dude's saying Devin Neil is out. Where
are you seeing that? Just says limited with an app
If he's limited, I got a feeling he's gonna play,
you know. So like, I don't know where this guy's
getting bub and Charlotte says he's out. Do you trust

(27:22):
the guy in injury updates from a guy named bub?

Speaker 3 (27:25):
You know?

Speaker 2 (27:27):
And again, do you trust anything from guy's named Mac
and Bone? I don't know, I don't know we need
to do but we need to see your medical license here?
How about the big news? Bone? On the Seattle front.
I really thought I thought we had a shot at
a Saturday game against Seattle. We were one of five
games that was, you know, listed as TBD could be
a Saturday game in week seventeen. But we also had

(27:49):
this exact conversation where there're gonna be two games or
where they're gonna be three games, and we literally said,
if there are two games, we very well could miss out.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
And that's what ended up happening.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
That game, the Seattle game, And for a lot of people,
for convenient purposes, this is good news. A lot of
people bone that have plans and you know what I mean,
and coming in from out of town stuff like that,
this is probably good news. They'll play at one o'clock
on Sunday. The games that will be Saturday are the
Texans and the Chargers and the Ravens and the Packers.

(28:21):
I think you and I kind of thought boned. If
there's three games, Panthers get in there. If there's two games,
those are the two. Yeah, Because remember that's Christmas Week.
So there's three games on Christmas Day, which I believe
if it wasn't that type of week, bach for that
many games on Christmas, which is a newer thing.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
They're doing now three games, so now more than last year.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Three.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Yeah it was two last year, right, so now it's three.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
So that's going to alter because they're eventually going to
run out of Sunday games. If you have three on Thursday,
you have three on Saturday. So that's why I thought
they're going to go two on that, and that's exactly
what they did. Mac A real quick update here on
Devin Neil to our guy Bub and Charlotte. Devin Neil
spoke to the media yesterday on motivation and the run
game and facing the Panthers on this coming week. So

(29:09):
I'm not sure he's out if he's talking to the media, Yeah,
he's got I would think Kamara is a very good
chance of being out. He's been out for a couple
of weeks, Devin Neil. I would I would feel like
he's gonna he's gonna end him playing, but we'll see,
we'll see. Bub just trying to keep Bub honest out there.
Bony Fitty is very triggered by not getting so our
last chance of getting a standalone or a primetime game

(29:29):
is if the last game of the season would be
for the division I'd like to. I'd love that the
Panthers wrapping up before then. But if the last game
of seasons for the division, would they move Tampa and
Carolina Sunday night? That's the last chance. Now, they couldn't
put that game at like four in the four window
four o'clock Winday do a lot that a lot right push.
Almost every meaningful game gets pushed back to the four

(29:51):
o'clock now, so that could that could happen? Fitty, you
are angry. This Seattle game is not Saturday. Why are
you so angry?

Speaker 4 (29:58):
I just wanted a chance for the pant to redeem themselves,
get a prime time or a standalone game and really
show out because the forty nine Ers game was on
our best effort, it wasn't our best foot four. This
team has been a different team at home. A chance
to change the national narrative in the perception about our team.
And also, man, I'm just tired of watching Lamar Jackson

(30:19):
playing big games and lose and then what was the
other game was Texans and Chargers. Yeah, I mean it
might be, it's important, there's no doubt, but it's important
or in the hunt for the wild card.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
I just they're just.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
More marquee teams than the little old Panthers, and you
get the feeling the league and the TV execs still
view us as the little old paper.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Well, but that's the problem back.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Why would the NFL not want to market their former
number one overall pick who is on his way to
establishing himself as a winning quarterback in the National Football League. Yeah,
that's just not a storyline.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Because they could.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Put Herbert, Jordan Love and Lamar Jackson on instead. I mean, listen,
I love Brice.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
I like.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
This is not them. I don't think you do like this.
I love them.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
This is not that. Well, that's awesome, that is awesome. Fitty,
I love them too. I want them to be more consistent.
I'm not delusional enough to think that he's a Panther
as big of a star as those guys at this
point in time. But I listen, I think Bone, First
of all, how did the Panthers play in prime time?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Maybe it's the best they're not in prime time. Maybe
it's the best.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
You get Seattle at ten am, their time, you get
that whole factor going. I'm not sure it's the worst
thing in the world. I'm a person Bone that has
played this disrespect card numerous times in my two decades
plus here in Charlotte. I don't really feel it right now,
Fitty's free to play it. I don't really feel it.
I just want to make the playoffs. Let's let's make

(31:45):
the playoffs. Let's keep growing, and let's make them in
the future.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
Put us in.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Can I give you the real reason why I'm mad,
because now that then I'll play it on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
I've just spend more time with my family. Oh okay,
if we played on Saturday, I got to come back home.
I'm the development true. Anybody get their reaction, they will.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
They will get more primetime respect next year, starting in
the beginning of the when the schedule comes out. They
will be probably on Thursday nights, Monday nights, maybe the
Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
We'll see.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
They'll get more respect next year if they finish strong.
If they don't finish the year strong, it may be similar.
But if they you know they're in the fight till
the end, they'll get that prime time respect back. Bad news,
maybe the worst news of all in regards to Seattle game.
Based off my track record, looks like I will be
at the Seattle game.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Why what are you trying to do here? Bone?

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Sabotage? I've got friends go and they said, do you
want to go? What am I supposed to do? Say
no to friendship, but be a selfish damnit?

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Do you want to go? Hell? Yeah, all right, I
have an'xtra ticket for you.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Now I know why people don't want me picking the
Panthers because I don't want Bone at the Panther game.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Now I understand it. Bone.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
In the past, I've always thought, oh, you guys are crazy.
How can one one dude just saying something on the
radio effect the outcome of game? But I have myself
completely convinced that Bone's attendance at one of his team's
games means his team loses. Have not seen outside of
Duke beatings Charlotte and basketball when you and I were
there a couple of years ago, I believe I've seen

(33:14):
my teams win like once in person in the last
in the last like five years.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
But I'm due.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
You're tools tell friends, Hey, I'm sorry, I can't go.
I'm not allowed because people don't want me there. No,
of course I'm gonna say yes. What got me to
do about that?

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Just say it.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
Well, I will say this that you could just say, hey,
I feel like I'm a curse. I shouldn't be there.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
But pre Bone, that's so Yester drugs.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
That's the least important game of the four, thank you.
That is the one, just like the Dolphins game for
the Bucks is the one that is the least important.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
The ones that are most important are.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Obviously had to head in these divisional games this week
Falcons Bucks tonight, and Saints and UH and Panthers on Sunday.
So there you go. At least you picked out. At
least you didn't pick Bucks to go to. If you
picked the Bucks to go to, Fitty and I have
very well might have kidnapped you the night before the game.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
It detained you in a dungeon. Bad news on that.
I'm just skiding.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Seattle, Seattle, Everyone relax its Seattle, right, It's Seattle when
we come back here. On the Mac and Bone Show
on this Thursday edition, Jim Phillips wants immediate change to
the college football playoff formula and a football rules analyst
goes after the acc and the way they do their replays.

(34:29):
Now Sports Radio ninety two seven WFNZ, it's a twelve.

Speaker 7 (34:45):
Team playoff put every team that's good these this G
five team. If a G five team wins it, I
would donate whatever I got an nil back to that team.
I would do that if a G pat team ever
wins it.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
That is from Diego Pavia, who hunts the world to
know that he thinks Vanderbilt should have been there, teams
that are power five schools Bones should have been there,
and group of five schools have no chance of winning
the title. I don't think anybody thinks the group of
five schools Bone have a chance of winning the title.
I'm not even sure many people at all give you know,

(35:25):
Tulane or JMU a chance of winning the game in
the first round. But I think the question is should
the playoff be inclusive enough to include at least one
group of five school to give them a seat at
the table. And that's actually one of the things that
we're going to discuss, because the reaction to the playoff

(35:48):
bracket has been extreme in terms of like people calling
for changes, whether it's the you know, what do you
do about the group of five? We have two group
of five teams in this too much? What do we
do about this or whether it's the get rid of
the weekly ranking shows or even call for expansion. Jim
Phillips yesterday was speaking Bone at an event and said

(36:10):
he wants immediate expansion. They have essentially six weeks Bone
to the new deadline of January twenty third to try
to get a playoff format, a new playoff format for
next year, and if they don't get it by then,
they'll just stick with the same twelve team format. But
Jim Phillips wants expansion. He called out for that, so
see the city immediately. So Notre Dame does I kill him?

(36:32):
That's why he's speaking. Phoe calls now we need we
need as many teams in his Can you just put
Notre Dame in now after the fact so that I
can't so I could stop getting threats from Golden domers please,
But anyway, that'll be our conversation at seven o'clock all
these suggested changes Bone, and we're going to weg in
on like is it an overreaction to change, because there

(36:52):
is an element to Bone of and you and I
said this after when they when it was announced they
wanted to expand, and already after one year, you and
I both had the same thought. It's like, could we
get a sample size here of a handful of years?
So like that's another thing, like do you make all
these changes? Stuart Mandel wrote about it like he said,

(37:14):
this is like what the BCS would do every year.
You would react to what the issues were with that year,
and then you change rules and a new one would
show of knee jerk. It's like so anyway, and I
also said all that stuff at seven o'clock. It's a
fascinating discussion case. I also say, Mac, as we've gone
further into this week, I'm really missing the anticipation. I

(37:37):
know that there's bowl games, Celebration Bowl, the Bucked Up
LA Bowl, but I I miss Matt, the anticipation of
the regular season college football weekend coming up. It's such
a great now we get, you know, Friday night's always
got matchups of intrigue. Now he's involved, we have Saturday.
There's a lot of great football ahead. But I miss

(37:57):
I missed the thought of like that all day Saturday.
Right man, that's the best regular season in sports.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
I know. Now I have to hang out with my families.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Madness is still my favorite postseason, but I think the
best regular season, No doubt is gone. I don't think
it's close. And it's also it's also the shortest one.
It goes so fast. Yeah, I feel like Fitty on
Saturday is not going to hang out with my family,
And I believe you would say the same thing to me.
He's just said the Fitty fact did What did you

(38:26):
say to him? Is that the are they? They're not
happy about this either? Oh yeah, yeah, that all thing
that's going to reintroduce himself to his son. I find
out he got a job back in September. All right, anyway,
So yeah, Jim Phillips was talking yesterday once immediate change.
He also Bone did admit that we will look in
the tiebreaker changes. I'm telling you right now, they have

(38:47):
already made their mind up. They they just don't want
to announce it so quickly and admit that their tiebreaker
formio was such a joke that it almost cost them
a team in the playoff. But I guarantee you that
their minds are already even if they haven't even discussed it,
every dude that matters has already figured out we have
to make it so that this never happens again. No
offense boned to Duke, but we have to make this

(39:09):
so that our highest ranked teams with the best playoff
chance are in the championship. Now it has to have Yeah,
you're right, it's that'll be announced, Mac, I assume very quickly,
or at least, you know, rumored to be a thing.
Whenever they're willing to admit. I think they'll do it
like on the down low and try to like not
make a big production out of it, because this is
like admitting, like to your wife that you did something

(39:31):
totally stupid, you know what I mean. It's like, I
don't think they're in a hurry to announce, Hey, everybody,
you were right, we were wrong about this.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
But they will do that at some point.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
It might be a Friday at like five point thirty
or something, you know what I mean, what a Friday
news dump in the summer or something.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Now, they will change that. I guarantee you.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
You Mac are the You're one of the great husbands
of Union County.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
You would never do something stupid.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
And you can pick up the calendar the husband's at
Union County. I'm right in there, mister October.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
I'm in now. I'm like Reggie Jackson of the husbands
of Union County. I do stuff.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
The thing is, I have no problem tell my wife
it did something stupid, because she knows it's coming. She
has learned to accept my stupidity and get in and
get some laughs out of my stupid My favorite one
in the last couple of years is when you was
it that you brought the wrong car in for an
inspection or an oil change. Yeah, that is one of
our cars needed an oil change. I took the wrong
one and I got in the middle of a line

(40:22):
and they came to take me and I said, oh crap,
this car got an oil change a month ago.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
I said, I brought the wrong car.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
You also had some wedgendary details of leaving your dog
rest in peace. Benny at the dog left and let
tip you letn't tie up to a tree if you
cot up to the slide, tied up to the dang
slide like at least twice, if not three times, I
had to go back and get him. Oh, by the way,
I am not in the dog Owners of the Year

(40:50):
in Union County calendar, though not in that. If you're
new to the show, that's the one that's been married
now for twenty plus years. I'm divorced. Yeah, so imagine
what he did. Anyway, I'm just look on Fitty's face, right,
he's not heard the dog story before.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
You never knew he wasn't around for the Benny years.
You never knew that one, Fitty. No, that's my bad, Benny.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
May you rest in peace up there, big dog that
is on me, fiddy one slider at the park once,
I would say, though flounder, I would say, Benny, a
little bark could have helped he a little bark let
me know you back there? Well, yes, Jay, it's funny
because yesterday our dog Bacon. We have two dogs now,
Rocket and Bacon. Benny is moved on Bone to the
dog park in the sky. But Bacon does this thing

(41:31):
now where he runs. He goes outside and takes you know,
he's not going he doesn't really want to go anywhere
for some reason. He wants to go out to the
front yard and look around. So we have to get
him back in. Well, he did this yesterday and I
was picking up packages because of course it's the holiday
season and fourteen Amazon packages come in every day because
my wife's amazing, she's buying everybody gifts. But anyway, so
I go and pick up these package and put him inside,

(41:52):
and I go in the house and it takes me
like four minutes to realize Bacon ain't in here. And
I go outside by and there he is walking the street,
going up and down the street, almost like anybody know
how to get me back in my house. No, it's
almost lost this one.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Mac.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Speaking of packages, at some point during the show, We've
had a bizarre moment here before the show when there
was a package addressed to Chris McClain of Victory Monday's
at wf J. That's what it was addressed to, and
we have to we have to discuss who may have
sent this and what was sent to us. People are
now sending wardrobes for us to wear for Victory dances

(42:33):
with no names attached, no questions.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
I asked, no explanations.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
I tweeted out, this is either the beginning of a
dayline or the end of one, and I'm not.

Speaker 1 (42:42):
Really sure which direction this fallows in.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
Of course, one man here was excited about it, and
that would be Fiddy Wellington Marwell. I mean, I guess
I'm kind of excited. That's like listeners like getting involved. Yeah,
you know what I mean, I don't really so from
the guy that's in this, the guy that's on house
arrests that wants to dance with Fiddy.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
Yeah, I don't know that that that could be. That
could be the.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
Case happened the other day of case you miss it?
A person on alcohol house arrest, right? Is that what
it was? He's got an alcohol ankle bracelet bracelet. But
he says if the Panthers win the division, he doesn't
care about that because what were we talking about doing
shots or something?

Speaker 1 (43:16):
If we win? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, So he.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
Says he'll come in do shots and do a victory
dance and then they'll take him right back to jail,
but he doesn't care because he'll be so excited about
the Panthers backing the postseason he literally will violate the
terms of his agreement. Oh god, can you tell we're
getting a little kookie and crazy in Panther Nation.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
We're not.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
We haven't been. We haven't been here in a while.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
I did want to mention the one thing bone uh
that that you tease that we have not discussed yet.
Terry McCauley is, Who's he the rules analyst for NBC? Yes, okay,
the NBC rules Anos former NFL ref NBC is the
only person I have heard have a problem with the
ACC's transparent replay that now the Big Twelve will copy
the way that on many of these broadcasts of ACC

(43:59):
football they let you listen in to the process as
they talk through the replay review. He says, there's not
enough back and forth in those processes. So he says,
it's the worst thing that could happen to replay is
everybody looks at their process, which is flawed. They're supposed
to be back and forth, give and take debate about
the call. And he says because of that, people are

(44:20):
seeing this and they're not seeing the way it should
be done. So I don't know, felt good to me.
It feels like they talked through it. I don't ever
remember bone. I don't ever remember like them getting a
call blatantly wrong when they're doing that.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Thought.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
It was a pretty good year for a lot of
stuff for the AEC he compared to last year or
some debacles. Yeah, Terry McCauley, that's what we want. We
want these things to be debates that take longer. Ah My,
you're trying to get your referees more airtime, like, yeah, oh,
how they're the ACC back have an expedited process that
moves quickly.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
I why oh, I will say this.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
To Terry's point, the guy at the end asks anybody
else disagree? And I'm pretty sure, like Terry he said,
I did not hear one person disagree, probably because the
people are like, yeah, let's.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
Just get the game going again. Do you think they're.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
