Speaker 1 (00:04):
When I come on sty Oh is Mac and Bowl.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
This is my freeing man.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Why don't you shut the bleep up?

Speaker 4 (00:11):
Ninja guy, you're listening to us, baby, this is my
freem team.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
How good is that chocolates? I love those guys.

Speaker 5 (00:20):
You're listening to the Mack and Bow Show on Mac
and Bowl Radio.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Good morning, Charlotte, Welcome board. It is a football Friday.
Can the Panthers make it two wins in a row?
That'll be the key question today on this radio show.
But there are so many other questions. Uh the college
football slate. There are winnable games for local teams. We
already got a local team that got a w last night,
Zound w although they did mess around there for a while,

(01:02):
but amazing start. They finished it off. EACU takes care
of Army. Last night we got college football to talk about.
We got some very interesting comments from Excel about his injury.
We're gonna have to get into this. It sounds very interesting.
Is there something going on behind the scenes? Anyway, we'll
talk about that. We got the dang Falcons OC trying

(01:26):
to take a shot at the Bank of America Stadium crowd,
like that's what he should be concerned about after that
abomination of an effort by his offense.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
So you know we're gonna rip that fool on the
show today.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
We're gonna focus on the Patriots and Drake May and
that matchup as well. We got things happening today on
the Mac and Bone Show. We got tons of big
games in college football to SEC matchups galore. I'm terrified
about what might happen with my Nitney Lions tomorrow night.
We got Charlotte FC trying to get a win streak
started again. But pet Biel's got an injury now, unfortunately,

(02:01):
and he's questionable. So anyway, we got all kind of
things to talk about on the Mac and Bone Show.
Final week in a Major League baseball in the Ryder Cup. Man,
we are about an hour away from the Ryder Cup.
And what an unbelievable first pairing or first matchup we have.
I mean, we just have European Lunatics against like, you know,

(02:22):
fiery Americans in the first matchup. It's gonna be great.
So anyway, we'll talk about all that stuff. The Bone Man,
the fit Dog is back today. You know, he wasn't
gonna miss Panther Fitt. He was not gonna miss a
panther Friday, and Bone Man is brought back the the
victory panther trumpet. Ladies and gentlemen. You know, people love

(02:43):
this thing on the video. I have to I have
to keep blowing this thing. Can you hey? Now, can
you can you play standing cheer on that? I don't
think I can play anything on this thing. It's so
it's so like cheap, and you know, I don't know
if I can do anything. No, I don't think you can.
I don't want practice again. No, I don't think it

(03:03):
has like two blows and then after that it's like
it needs to break, it needs a nap. That's that's
what you get Bone when you're wait when when the budget?
I was going to say our prop budget, but Bone
buys all the props. Yeah, but I did some things
that for the next one. Now I'll never say what
they are, and once we use them. Do you know
that there have been some listeners out there that have
started to compare the Bone Man to Carra Top really

(03:27):
but that the Bone Man could be the.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Next great prop user in America.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Let' see we've got we've got victory, We've got victory horns.
We've got a panther blazers where I swear to you, Matt,
I feel like we're part of a late night now.
I don't know if we can talk about late night
stuff right now, the way it's going, but I feel
like we're part of a late night band, aren't we
put on? Put on our jackets, get our instruments out,
and the way we go. Oh, the jackets are back.
That bow and Beth gave me. When I want down

(03:53):
the hallway with my jacket and my trumpet, I want
to compliment.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I got to compliment from a coworker, my man TJ
from over there, uh with uh, what.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
The heck is a station?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
The MIXX a mix. Keep wanted to call it the link.
That's not what it is anymore, the mix with our
guy Matt Harris. But anyway, Yeah, he complimented the jacks,
so I get. I don't know, man, these jackets have
been a hit. We even had a guy, uh, our
guy Donald that won all the money last week on
his betting. But he he's got a family member or
whatever bone that like saw the victory dance, saw our

(04:27):
cheesy panther jackets and like loved them. So now he
tracked down Bone yesterday to find out where'd you.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Get those jackets? I gotta buy this for somebody. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
My my favorite part about this stuff about see when
you win, these things can happen, right, we can have
fun with stuff you never know, like who ends up
being a fan of the silliness Like Langston Wartz Junior
of The Observer a massive fan of Max dancing. I
wouldn't have guessed that he was, but he he needs
those videos. Gary Williams are our dear onetime friend now

(04:58):
with five clubs golf. I wouldn't not have guessed that
Gary is a big fan of the Shenanigans, of the
Victory dancing and Fitty Nearly. I would not have guessed
g Dub was in that category. But you never quite
know Mac, who will be at least throwing I know
is a big fan of the dancing. There you go,
because he always comments on every single one of them,
So you never know, Mac. There are a lot of
people out there, probably in secret, that love it when

(05:19):
the Mac mandat ye. Some people are willing to admit
a public and the others aren't. Others will never say
it publicly. They don't want to acknowledge that Dan Morgan
saw the video the other day. I know that, Okay,
so he viewed it on my Instagram stores.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I know, like no likes going on there.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
He didn't. There was no comment or a wife, but
Dan saw it. What do you think the GM's thinking
like he is he proud of what he accomplished or
is he like, this is my fault?

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Do you think he still wants to win after watching that?
All right?

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Shout out to ECU. Came out Bone last night on
fire against Army. Three touchdown drives of seventy yards or
more in the first half. Two of them involved big
past plays down field to Anthony Smith, including a long
touchdown where he just made an amazing adjustment on it
and they were up twenty one to nothing.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Bone.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
And then this game had itself a big old lull
in the middle of it. I mean, I can't remember
ever watching a game where teams went for it on
fourth down and failed more than this game. It was
a very weird game, but ECU ends up getting the
dub twenty eight to six in the end.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Yeah, Army went for it nine times on fourth down,
ECU three times. Army got it four of the times
we're getting stuffed.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Man.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
That ECU defense up front was stuff in that run
game in shortyarding, but.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Right above the fourth downstown is really a huge difference
in the ballgame. EESCU holds Army two for fifteen on
third downs, so they really did you talk what you're
talking about. They did a great job on third down
in this they just stuck. It's crazy, man, I mean
just for twenty four on third and fourth down for
Army on that was they came out and it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Thing is I look at the box score and Army
still had twohundred and forty one yards rushing on fifty
three carries.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
But it's like watching the game.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
EACUS front were a bunch of beasts, like they just
swarmed to the ball. That quarterback Cole, but how many
times he gets stuffed at the line or behind the line.
My good and a big third down or a fourth
down so easy.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
That was impressive.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Obviously, two forty one is a lot of rushing yards,
but that's basically all their yards they get though, So
the passing was what in the forty nine yards pass
forty nine yards passing, So two forty one rushing we've
seen it a lot worse than that. Before the Army
had that kid Reid had two drops, they would have
been both of them would have been touchdowns on the
same drive.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
So that hurt him.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
There was some weird coaching decisions like I didn't some
of the going for it, Like he see, you had
a chance to make it a sixteen point game in
the third quarter with a thirty three yard field goal,
and they went for it and got stopped. I didn't
really understand that. Make it, make make it a what
would have been at that point, sixteen point game, and
then make them, you know, get two touchdowns to two

(07:51):
point conversions Army did. I'm telling you one of the
things that I am just driving me crazy in college
football in the NFL a little bit. These coaches they
go for two in the weirdest situations. It's like these
guys are playing Madden, where when someone plays mad, these
go for two every time because there's no real ramifications.

(08:14):
Army is down twenty one to nothing a halftime, they
drive down and score a touchdown, they're getting momentum back.
They go for two and fail.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Yeah. I don't get it either. What are you trying
to do? Cut it to a thirteen point game. What
is the point of that?

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Like, it's like I almost think like every coach that's
behind thinks he has to go for two, and I
like and and Matt Barry was like, always following the chart.
Sometimes you got to go with your gut. You can't
follow the chart. But it's like, would the chart, what
would a chart even tell you at twenty one to
six to go for two? Shouldn't if not, get a
new chart? Like if it does, get a new chart,
that was so weird to me. Watch this this weekend

(08:49):
when you're watching football. These coaches will go for two
and it'll be like, Bro, that makes no sense. And
then the whole chasing points things they all get in
their head. It's just any What was the Duke one
a couple of weeks ago? Was it twenty f four
to nine against tu Wayne and now and it went
for two? And I think that's what the situation was, right,
and they would have yea, they could have just made
it a two touchdown game.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
And would they tried to cut into twenty four to
eleven instead of twenty four to just kick it and
be down by two touchdowns?

Speaker 6 (09:12):
What?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Actually?

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Speaking of town, it was down fifteen points. But do
they got the same chart? Monkin and and uh and
Manny got the same weird chart?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Is this chart on AI? Can you google this chart?
By the way, speaking of tu Wayne, e cu off
next week. Their next game a Mammoth showdown again on
Thursday night. There you go, yeah at tu Wayne that's
their next game, which okay, so they're not at home
for that one.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
But that's a if.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
That's some interesting spots on TV MAD That b Yu
game was a important game for them army on Thursday.
Now they get tu Wayne on Actually their next their
next two games are actually on Thursday. They played three
straight Thursday night games. They have Tulsa at home after that.
There wow, that because Matt.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Barry you get to know, get to know you see
you Matt Berry, He and Lougan Bill were having some
fun It's up Dogs yesterday broadcast. I mean they're throwing
like people are throwing chicken nuggets into Matt Berry's mouth.
They're throwing chicken nuggets into like young attractive ECU co eds,
you know mouth. I mean it was it looked like
a party as you would expected. E see champions out,

(10:16):
champions out there. Some Nuggies at the NFL NFL game
won a finish. I mean, Kyler Murray and Arizona looked
rough as hell for a while, Bone, but down two
touchdowns late, they came back. They tied the game late
TD drive by the Cardinals, and then Darnald and Seattle say,
there'll be no overtime for you America, al Michaels, you

(10:38):
can get your sleep. They drive down and kick a
walk off field goal bone man uh to wrap it
up and to win at the at the death, as
the p man would stay during a soccer call. Twenty
three to twenty was the final last night. Jason Myers
fifty to yard field goal? And did you see what

(10:59):
he did before or the field goal?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
What's that? I felt? I was? I was out of it?
You were concked out? Yeap.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Although I woke up at one, I've been up ever since.
But I missed that part. He hit the smell, he
hits smelling salts.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Oh I after doing the smelling salts, I why do
what does this do for anybody? I have never been
more confused as to why how something helps with someone?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I don't know, But why does that help? You make
a field goal?

Speaker 1 (11:23):
They're right here. I don't think I'm kicking field goals.
Do either you have any like how does that? I
guess you'll use the smelling salts. I feel like I
don't ready to kick a field goal. I don't have
the answer. It makes you more awar in the moment,
but does it do anything long term? I didn't really
feel anything.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
I mean I didn't feel anything in the moment, like
I didn't mean.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
It was like I'm saying, like, would you take you
whoa like you're awert? But then I don't know what
it does after that.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
I mean I just felt like I was going to
fall over for about two seconds.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Did you get do you get why a kicker would
hit the hit that U?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Salts? Fit dog?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
No?

Speaker 2 (11:54):
But we're not athletes either, like I mean with well Stan, Yeah,
whenever I did that, I felt locked in on the
bore for like a minute. It was like the best
of minute producing I've ever because I didn't feel anything
like that. Now here's the question. Did you when you
smelled the salts? Did you get down like into because
whenever Shrappie does it, SHROPPI like gets all the way
into the container.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I felt like I felt like something was gonna was snatched.
I feel like something was snatching my brain out of
my head like it was.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah, it was brutal.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Okay, it was brutal, but I just I don't I
didn't feel anything good. I just felt brutal, a brutal
feeling in my nose and in my head, almost like
when water goes up your nose in the pool. Yeah, yeah,
I understand how that's a performance enhancer. But anyway, so
the kicker hits smelling salts that on man and then
hit the game winning field goal.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
It took a while to get there to be a
close finish that Gal tweeted out last night, it's the
worst close game of all time.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Like it it.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
The fourth quarter ended up being entertaining, but before that
it was a U and also Tyler had some rough moments.
Can we talk about the body language mac of the
of the card in general, whether it's Kyler, Murray, Maserati, Marv.
They look like they have the body language of those
that've been waiting in the line at the DMV for
over four hours? Are they are they enjoying football?

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Now?

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Are they having fun out there? It looks like they
are going to like, uh, they're going to a construction
site job and it's one hundred and ten degrees outside
and they're they're they're doing hard labor in terms of
like that.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Stuff I got.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
I'm not saying football deasy, but why they are having
zero fun as a football team.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
And there's Marv marve ain't having a good city, you
know what I mean? Like they had fun against the Panthers. Yeah,
it till the end. It wasn't that fun. Other than that, anyway,
I was thinking about this, smack.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Is Marvin Harrison going to be the next wide receiver
target this fan base wants us to trade four because.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
It's not working in Arizona.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Right, He's going to be the next guy that this
fan base tells we got a trade for for Bryce Young.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I was thinking about that last night. He'll be the
next t Higgins.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Is he good? I think he's all right right now.
I mean I don't bad though. I just think he's
all right. He maybe he's just not what we thought
he'd be, you know, I don't know, but it's early
in his career.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
He's better excel.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
All right.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Anyway, go ahead?

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Sorry, PFT gave a stat a part of my take
when I was driving in this morning. In his career
so far, Now I know that this isn't necessarily like
what he's there for, but it is a telling stat.
In his career he has zero mistackles as a wide receiver.
He has not forced the mistack, forced a mistackle. Now
I know what his game is. It's go catch the football,
be guys down the field. But you would think Mac

(14:32):
that somewhere along the way he'd catch a pass and
make you I mess he had this year.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Last night he had six or six yards, five, six catches, touchdown, whatever.
But this year bone he had n't even been doing
to catch the football part. That's been a problem anyway.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
By the way, Jackson Smith the jig book on Seattle,
I bet on him last night for the over of
ninety receiving yards. In the first half. He had zero catches,
zero yards on zero target. He had to go wooked
to make sure the guy was all right, we're up.
In that second half he had seventy nine. If you
would have had maybe one catch in the first half,
maybe we could have got some doughnuts.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
This morning, Blue open, Oh damn that you Seahawks. Sam
Donald did it by ignored him. Sam Donald cost us
some damn donuts.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
We're not.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
We also worry about it today because the MacMan set
us breakfast yesterday. That's right, brought in a Hall McDonald
spread for it. It's a rough drawl for fitting. It's
a rough drawl for fitty. I finally, my cheap ass
finally buy something, and the fit daddy uh is not
here for it.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Man, that's rough, Fitty.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
I've never been more hurt than when you called me
at six o five on my off day to sing
Ishmael's happy birthday message to me, which I heard was
not nice.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
The happy Birthday song wasn't until the end of the
show six o'clock. We just wanted to be oh, almost cussed.
We just wanted to be jerks and wake up. But
you have this whole iPhone apparently does not let the
rift draft through, so we got we got blocked at
se well. I thought you had a female secretary. There
was a woman like saying you know, sorry, you can't
reach uh. I don't know what that would said, but

(16:02):
I thought you had a female secretary first, so you
bought for yourself bone and flounder. Yes I did. I
did I say it was a big day around here.
Fit daddy. I cannot believe you missed out though.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
You know, Mack even fought a drive through worker for
flowers order, stood up for stood up for the order.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
At the it was all of us.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
They were actually as me and you, they were trying
to give us mcgriddles instead of business.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Okay, I didn't realize that. Okay, I gotta be honest.
Mcgriddles are prett damn good too, though.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Real quick, let's talk about I do want to talk
about the Ryder Cup we'll get when we will do
that in a few minutes. I want to let you
hear what Rory McElroy is saying bone before he goes
out there today, because I'm on to him.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
I'm onto this guy.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Uh. But let's start first, and again we're inside an
hour from the start of that one.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
But let's let's just real quick mention.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
Nick Smith Junior was let go bony two years uh
into his career hornet shoes. What they did he trade
up into the late first round to get him?

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yes, what they did?

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Well picked twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Yeah, and he was a one and done player, really talented,
big time recruit. Mixed results at Arkansas, and I think
it was mixed results for the Hornets. Listen, they just
brought in so many guards and they have such a
glut of players they still have to get rid of
one more guy by October twentieth to be down to
the roster. You know, limits he kind of felt like
he was one that was gonna go bone. I find

(17:22):
him very streaky, very inconsistent. In fairness to him, He's
a young player, so that's kind of the thing for
a lot of young players. And I'm not saying there's
not a spot for him in this league as a
backup guard that can score the ball or whatever, But
for this team, when I look at this roster, I
would have.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Cut Nick Smith Junior too.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Personally, Yeah, Like, where was he ever going to fit
in with all these guards? I mean, was he ever
gonna play at all? So maybe I don't know. I
think he's got some talent. You're right, he's inconsistent. Maybe
he goes somewhere and he finds a bench role where
they need more guard help. I mean, there are so
many guys on the training camp roster. Were they down
to twenty now? I think they're down to twenty again.

(18:01):
They've been doing so much maneuvering lately, where they're signing
a guy waving, a guy signing, a guy waving, a
guy gets It's a lot of G League stuff they're doing.
But someone had to go, and unfortunately for him, Nick
Smith Junior. I know he's a hard worker, but he
just there was no way to fit him on this
roster with this many guards, that the vet guards they
brought in trade man on the way back from the injury.
They're just no spot for him. Man, there's the again.

(18:24):
Simpson was like, he may have played his way into
some spot here. I think he's a two way. He's
a two way guy.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
The number your sighting is two way guys included. They've
got to get it down to fifteen. I think excluding
the two ways. My suggestion is Pat Conaton, they got
to cut one more. Yeah, I'm not really feeling Pat
Connton on this team, you know what I mean, because
you got to cut somebody.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
They just got rid of Jefferies.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
That was a no brainer, I thought, because his contract
wasn't guaranteed, it wasn't gonna cost you anything. Like we
do take a dead money cap hit on the Nick
Smith Junior cut we also have.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Remember we signed Drew Peterson on the roster. I still
don't quite understand that move. Remember Drew Peterson from the
Celtics that we brought in there. I don't quite understand.
See two way it two way?

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I think I have to. I think he's a two way.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
You might be right that I just I don't really
I haven't really thought much about Drew Peterson during this
Panthers winning streak.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
When when Street, when we.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Come back Panthers and Pat's key injury news stick around
for that. Sports Radio ninety two seven.

Speaker 6 (19:26):
W F and Z.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Everyone wanted to make it in America. It's the land
of opportunity. I still believe it's the greatest country in
the world. And if you come here and you work hard,
and you dedicate yourself, you can you can be or
do whatever you want. I am unbelievably grateful and I'm
lucky that I got to come to America early on.
And I think success is celebrated here. I think there's

(20:05):
a there's a wonderful sense of work ethic.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
And yeah, as you.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
Know, I live here, my wife is American, my daughter
is American. You know, I have a lot of affinity
towards this country, and and I think everyone that lives
here should have that same affinity because it is. It's
a wonderful It is a wonderful place.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
All right.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
That is Rory mccor yesterday declaring America the greatest.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Country in the world.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
I'm onto this, man, Bone, I am onto this sneaky
little weasel, all right, my detective Frank Drebben and naked gun.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
I ain't following for this trick. All right.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
We get ready to start the Ryder Cup in about
forty five minutes. Rory McElroy and Tommy Fleet would be
will be a real formidable foe in that in that
third matchup.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
That is a brutal matchup for us than it with
more cola the way he's played this year in Rising, and.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
That doesn't feel like our best chance of winning. But
I'm on to Rory McElroy, butter up America talk about
how great our country is in hopes that the New
Yorkers at Bethpage Black don't say horrible things to them.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Is this not a shameless move, bone man?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (21:15):
No, I think you're onto something there. Detective ain't gonna work,
ain't gonna work.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Maybe New Yorkers don't care if you say anything nice
about you about them. They will rip your mama. They
will insult your damn mother two seconds later.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
There was a great moment yesterday that made everybody laugh,
including Rory, when they were on the uh on the
on the Green and he was buttoning up a shirt
and one of the New Yorkers said, hey, Rory, that
button won't stop you from choking, and they all even,
they all out.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
They almost like a ship that the cat to the eye.
I love this event. I love the fact that fans
can yell stuff. I don't want fans yelling stuff about
family members. Just some times brought that up yesterday and said, hey,
it's fine, and then until you start yelling about family
members and stuff like that, and I cannot say bone,
I trust New Yorkers not to do that, to be
honest with you, but I just love it. It's like,

(22:02):
here's the way I would put it. The Ryder Cup
is golf with a real sports atmosphere. No offense to
golf fans, but real but sports is supposed to have
loud fans like those are the sports bonement. I like
the most loud environments, and this golf this is what
you're playing for your country too. I mean, I just
I can't wait for this thing to get going here
at seven I think seven ten they get it going

(22:24):
seven tens.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
That Bryson JT group against rawmen Manhattan, that is amazing.
This is not a golf outing Mac where just yelling
mashed potatoes will suffice.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
You.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Better bring you, better bring the you better bring the
good stuff when you're yelling in this book, doubt, no
doubt about it, but that I and I was watching
Golf Channel yesterday bone when they announced the uh, the
the group, you know, the groups and the whatever I'm
trying to say here, because it's not pairing the match
the matches. Yeah yeah, So anyway, I was there, both
captains were there.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
I wasn't there.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
I was watching it, and both captains were there. This
is the greatest way to start the Ryder Cup. You
got Bryson dish Ambo, who is going to get the
crowd cranked and fired up. You've got Justin Thomas, who
of all the Americans over the years, has been the one.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
That loves it the most. He gets freaking going, man.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
And then you throw in those two loon balls, those
two hot heads for Europe. On the other side, I'm
telling you New York golf fans, you know your assignment.
You got to get in the heads of rom and
Hatton because if you can get in their heads and
if they start struggling, those those two dudes have both
melted down many a time on a golf.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Course, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
And then it's Scheffler in the second matchup, love that
too against Oborg and Matt Fitzpatrick struggled in Rome last year.
So that's an interesting I was reading about how that
pairing's a little bit kind of maybe in question from
what donald and at the end of the at the
end of the matchups, it's Shaffley and can't Lay. Who
have They're the ones that have played together the most

(23:55):
of these of these again pairings, that's what we're using
for the term. But they played together the last couple
Ryder cops. They do a good job together.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
So we'll see you have a they continue that today.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
I guess it is kind of the pairings for a
team together their matchups or matches or whatever. Anyway, can
you tell can you tell we're we're dummies? Anyway? I
can't wait, and we'll be updating you on the Ryder
Cup as it goes on. We'll be trying to watch
it when we can during breaks and stuff like that.
Let's get into the Panthers. You want to say network

(24:23):
for those that are oh, that's a good call. That's
a good call. That would have said that. For the
cappulitatd guy, that would be helpful. It'd be helpful to
tell everybody where it is. But anyway, right now, we
want you to listening to the radio. All right, So
the Panthers injury situation, bone Man t Mac back at
practice but limited. But I think that's a good first
step to getting to playing this weekend. After all, he

(24:45):
did say, hey, I'm gonna go, he said the other day.
Hunter Renfro's back after his wife gave birth to their
second daughter, So good for him to get on out there.
The biggest concern to me is the edge rusher spot
right now. Pat Jones and Dj Wantam both did not practice.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
I like our rookies, and they did a great job
when Pat Jones couldn't play last week. I don't I
don't want both starting edges out Bone that. That doesn't
feel ideal, No, not at all, No, because you you're
excited that the rookies got their opportunity, but you ultimately
want those vets in there for right now to hopefully

(25:29):
try to keep this thing going. So yeah, and then
you've got the Wharton stuff too, right, so you've already
got injuries up there on the front line. You don't
want the edges also to be out too. No, both
starting edges. Well, I mean that's that is far from ideal.
So I just I would like to just to ask
the injury gods, can we get one of these guys?
Can we get one of these guys out there like

(25:52):
we had last week to compliment the young guys as
far as rookies go. You mentioned Turk Wharton. Good news yesterday.
Turk Wharton in practice for the first time yesterday. He
was limited, but that was his first step back from
the hamstring injury. Xavier League get held out of practice again, Bony,
and that brings me to his situation. He talks to

(26:15):
the media for about three minutes yesterday and we will
play the audio in the second hour of the show.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
But it is very interesting.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
First of all, he sounds like for a guy that's
so fun loving, he sounds depressed. He sounds really bummed
that he's not playing, and he kept talking about, you know,
he feels solid, he feels like he could play in
a limited basis, maybe not even have to play limited.
But he keeps talking about it's up to what the

(26:45):
coaches let me let me do. It's very interesting. It's like,
y'all need to hear it later. We're gonna tease that
you listen, you can hear that about seven forty five
to day. But it's almost like, are they wanting to
kind of hold him out?

Speaker 3 (27:00):
You know, it's interesting.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
I mean, maybe they're thinking that it worked for Bryce
last year in some ways when he sat down with
the injury. So I don't know, maybe they're thinking it's
more of a mental refresh than anything. They've got history
of that working here. So you're talking about Bryce's rookie year. Yeah, yeah,
I'm talking about Bryce last year. Well that was a
flat out benching, right, Oh yeah, you're right. But yeah,

(27:21):
I'm talking what I think people some people think it is,
and this audio will only help people who have their
mind running wild, thinking that they are like just kind
of he's injured, but I'm sitting them out. People think
it's something where like Bryce is third week of his career, right, yeah,
where he had this knee injury that people didn't know

(27:41):
if it was a really out game that sort of thing.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Yeah, the Seattle game is what it was. So I
think I don't know. You're gonna have to listen to it.
Bone you could tell me what you think, but it was.
It's very interesting. And Joe person did say, do you
want to play in the team it's telling you not
to and he goes, oh, no, it's not that, but
it sounded like like that. Also, what's going on back
with Chuba being questionable here with the with the cath injury.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Are we as limited as he was limited? Is that
what it was limited in? His status is questionable right now.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
I don't know that he was added to the injury
boards so he wasn't on there on Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Is that just you know, running back, you know, making
sure he's good to go, or is there something they
have to worry about him?

Speaker 4 (28:20):
I don't know. This is a new one. This is
a new one as of yesterday. We'll see what happens today.
I kind of I don't know. I don't want to Jax,
it don't Jason. The fact that he was limited. I
you know, I don't know. I kind of feel all
right about it. But Dave Canalis will talk after practice
today and Friday pressers. You get, you know, a little
bit of clarity on the injuries. As far as the

(28:40):
Patriots go, insider Jordan Schultz is reporting at their star corner,
Christian Gazzalez is likely to play, So we were kind
of hoping Bone that they would take it easy on him, right,
don't you know, I know it's spend two months, but sent.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
Him out one more week.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Who knows what he's gonna be though, after two months off,
So maybe maybe you know he plays, but it takes
a while to get going, so maybe you know he's
a factor, but maybe he's not as big a factor
if he had been playing the first couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
And te Matt could see and we could see that
match up out there on Sunday. I'll tell you this, though,
Christian Gonzales bone at twenty percent would be better than
some of these corners that are out there. That fair
Austin has been horrible, Marcus Jones has struggled for them
all right. The right guard, rookie right guard Jared Wilson
did not practice. It's starting to look like he's not
gonna play this week. They'll be without it. Sounds like

(29:25):
they'll probably be without their right guard. All right, couple
of clips because his coordinator day, coordinator press conference day yesterday,
like it always is on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
And let's start with his ziro Vero.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I love this clip, Bony, and it kind of sounds
like our observations about tray Von Merrick when we met him,
the contradiction between his play style and his personality off
the field. Vera was asked about his performance last week.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
Physicality, effort. I mean, this guy is just so physical.
He saw there's a couple of big blow ups on
the online. I'm always amazed by him because he is
just the nicest guy in the world. But and he
will like to just knock the heck out of you,
and then he'll just get up and smile, and it's
just like it's it's almost like a bipolar thing he's got,

(30:14):
you know. But I love everything about him. I love
his play style and the physicality and effort that he
plays with is really contagious to our defense.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Yeah, like you said, Mac, we had the same observation
at Campbell of some of those guys, not just Merrick,
but Ransom I think was also in that same vein too,
where nicest guy and then he goes out there and
he's looking for blood, so very similar makeup. I think
of the potential safety combo in the future there he's
a gentleman on the streets and he's a freak on

(30:44):
the field.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
Baby.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
I try to think of something that could be a
synonym for field that rhymes with streets.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
I didn't have anything. I didn't have anything. But anyway, y'all,
so I kind of I'm.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Described as a freak on the streets, And well, what
if I described you weren't called spicy Papa one?

Speaker 3 (31:06):
Uh so? Uh Mary.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
We want to see him flying around hitting guys. He
was extremely active and they use him in so many
different ways.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Blitzen. He was set in the edge.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
They'll literally play him at linebacker when they when they
go into the nickel personnel and they line up essentially
as a four to three. Sometimes he is up there
with the linebacker. So man, he is so versatile. Such
a weapon. Another guy bone that I would say is
a bit of a weapon is Derek Brown. Oh no,
we're not, are we not? Doing the Derek Brown clip. No,
we're not, we're not. I guess I can. I guess

(31:36):
we can. Fitty, there's no rules there. Your showman rules
yourself into it. Yeah, I guess, so, I guess. So
listen to a Vero talk about Derek Brown bony and
how he looks on tape. And this one is for
your buddy, A J. Bone Man who thinks Derek Brown
is like a shell of himself.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Listen to this.

Speaker 7 (31:53):
It looks about the same. I mean, just obviously a strong, strong,
strong run defender. He's a he's hard to block singled up,
and uh, he makes a lot of impact plays in
the run game. He's been hitting the quarterback and so
he's he's really done a really good job up to
this point. But like all of us, you know, we
know we need to coach better a lot of instances.
We need to play better individually and collectively in a

(32:16):
lot of instances, and so we're all looking towards improvement,
and I know he is as well.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
So there you go.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
Asked was asked how he looks compared to his Pro
Bowl season and says about the same.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
He picked up that Cardinals offensive lineman back like an
average person picked up a back of Stereolo drives open
it rock. I mean, the things that he can do
to grown men, it's uh, should be a legal in
all states, honest, it's uh. He just I mean, rag
doll is an understatement. Before we did that, he was
just moving that cardinal wherever he wanted to go. And
Litstrom is a pretty good player.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
No that when Lidstrom was last week to get this, well,
yeah that was the last weeks.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
You're right, You're right right, I met, I met. There
was a clip I saw in both weeks. He's done something.
You getting your birds confused. You're getting your cardinals and
your falcons confused. He's had all these breakdowns back to
back weeks. I'm getting him.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
Balding calls into frisbee Derek Brown frisbee toss when he
just picks up an offensive lineman and tosses him to
the side. He actually did it on at least two plays.
There was a run play and a pass play where
he dispatched it of Lidstrom. So, I mean, man, he yeah,
he's off to a great start, and I'm not saying
he's up to maybe full you know, full capacity full

(33:19):
Derek Brown but his own coordinator said, man, he's pretty
damn close.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
When we come back here in the Mack and Bone Show,
we mentioned the couch Potato guy. His next your guy
to a very very very busy weekend in all of
sports on Sports Radio ninety two seven WFNZ. The thing's
a second.

Speaker 6 (33:53):
Obviously, there's a lot of factors to go into it.
I know, I know Fox tried to argue that twelve
o'clock white out was the same as a seven o'clock
white out. I think people would disagree with that. So
there's been factors that have impacted it a little bit.
But when you're able to get a night game against
opponent like we do with the sky, the black sky

(34:16):
and the white uniforms and then, excuse me, the white
crowd and the contrast of the dark uniforms, and just
the anticipation and the build up, the students sleeping outside
the stadium all week, it's just turned.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Into a special event.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
That is James Franklin, Penn State head coach. And I'm
sure the text are gonna come in. Oh, he's gonna
choke like he always does it a big game, and
I'm kind of worried about that. Myself as a Penn
State fan. So as James Franklin talking about having a
white out against Oregon tomorrow night in Happy Valley. I
love these games as a Penn State fans. It's some
of the best environment you could find in sport in America. Honestly,

(34:55):
I am biased, and I love the shot he took
at Fox. There bony about Fox trying to tell us
a white out at Nuone memo to Fox, Nobody once
a big game at noon except you. Nobody, I mean,
not a single person in the world once a big
game at noon except you. But you paid so much
money for it that you got it.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
There's nothing that could be done about it. But yeah,
don't try. Don't try to blow smoke up people's glutes.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Fox.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Praise the Lord for NBC though, that being part of
this Big ten package as well, because that is what
it will be on and that is going to be
a scene. And Penn State fans have been waiting. I
don't mean this as a joke. Penn State fans back.
I've been waiting, waiting, waiting for their big game opportunity
this year, and it certainly comes to our night. They're
going to be on ready for that one. My warl,
my god, Tomorrow night.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Tomorrow night is just a amazing night of football.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Anyway, let's get into it all right. That brings us to.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
The couch Potato Guide, where we tell you what is
on when so you can plan accordingly. Ryder Cup getting
ready to get started in about twenty minutes. It's on
USA all day today because they've got the is it
Forsom's are four ball?

Speaker 3 (36:09):
First?

Speaker 4 (36:10):
I get confused, no for forwesome for someoms because that's
ulternate shot. That's what they're doing this morning. They're doing
four ball where each guy you know plays his ball
in the afternoon and then Saturday all day seven am
to six pm on NBC and then Sunday of the
singles matches noon to six on NBC for the Ryder
Cup Tonight, Bony. Two pretty good interesting football games tonight

(36:33):
Florida State Virginia ACC openers for the squads on ESPN
at seven o'clock. And how about that Big twelve matchup
TCU Arizona State at nine o'clock on Fox.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Bony.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
We saw him play UNC in week number one. But
Josh Hoover, the quarterback for TCU putting up some pretty
big numbers back, when does he start to get a
little bit more A is this guy? This guy heis
been good, but he's got a big showcase tonight on Fox.
So we'll see if he's doing that. If a wide
receiver too for TCU, mcowister off the jar.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
He had two hundred and fifty four yards receiving against SMU.
SMU's defense is a brutal I mean it is brutal, y'all. Anyway, Saturday, man,
we know you lived for Saturdays this time of year.
Saturday at noon, Georgia Tech Wake is on ESPN at noon,
You've got Duke and Syracuse on ACC network at noon.

(37:26):
You got Louisville Pitt at ESPN two. So ACC is
all over that noon window bony, they got him all
over that. Notre Dame Arkansas is a fun one. Notre
Dame secondary banged up. Arkansas's got Taylor Green slinging it.
That's ABC at noon and then USC and Illinois at
noon on Fox. Why, by the way, why is Illinois

(37:46):
still ranked?

Speaker 1 (37:49):
I mean they were number nine. I guess I just
didn't feel like taking him all the way out of there.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
But I lost by fifty three at night.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
When you lose by fifty three, that should be an
automatic red flag day.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
You're out of the green call that by the way.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
Way, I guess if they win this week, they'll validate
their ranking, you know, against USC.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
We'll talk more about it later. I'm a little bit
concerned about Duken Syracuses, are you a little bit? Because
fran Brown is such a good coach. I know, there's
a there's a natural feeling of, oh, you're playing the
backup quarterback in Collins. Oh with fran Brown, feels like
Mackie maximizes the most he can out.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
Of whoever's playing quarterback, right, It's.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Kind of he's kind of like, uh, the a SEC's
version of Lane Kiffen a little bit here. Whoever's playing
quarterback for them, they end up slinging it, don't they.
We'll see what happened they.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
Yeah, the last two quarterbacks, right McCord Angelly was bawling.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
So do they have something going on there? You know
what I mean?

Speaker 4 (38:41):
Where that offense can slide somebody in. I mean, Ricky
Collins is no joke. He's an LSU transfer, yeah, you know,
but anyway, he's not you know, we'll see. He's new,
he's not experienced. I know this is I think it
was his first pass with a touchdown pass against Clemson,
right we had dude goes to there favored by what
five five and a half, So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
I'm just I think Duke can. But I'm not gonna
think this is gonna be easy one. Make you go
either way. A game could go either way. It should
be a good one. The three point thirty, Man, we
got some good, real good games. Start at three thirty
lsu O, miss can't wait to watch that one on ABC, Auburn,
Texas A and m ESPN at the same time. Ohio
State Washington is sneaky, good bone. Washington is explosive on offense.

(39:21):
That should be fun on CBS H. Then you throw
in Indiana, Iowa on Peacock three thirty. You throw in Tennessee,
Mississippi State, which I think is a very interesting game.
The balls on the road in that one of four fifteen.
We got some games, man. The ACC gives you cal
BC during that window. By the way, hey, Col's quarterbacks

(39:42):
one to watch.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
He wasn't last week.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
While he was not they got shut out by San
Diego State.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Mac, there's a couple of teams that possibly possibly could
be on upset of work tomorrow. You mentioned Washington, Ohio State.
That is that is one that is only what is
Ohio State? If Evoryboy only eight in that game, I
think interaction things spread there. And I know Tennessee is
really really good, but that's one of those games where
I could see that game being a lot closer maybe
than people realize. At Mississippi State.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Tennessee is about a seven and a half point favorite
at that So.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
The Vegas kind of feeling that too, well, bet.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
Yeah, I mean I think listen, it's the road in
the it's on the road in the SEC and Mississippi
State at home beat Arizona State, So there is this
miss Jeff Levy's doing a job. This team is better.
I'm a big believer in this Tennessee team. Maybe Joey
Agler goes in and turns it over. We know, and
I look like an idiot, but I'm a big believer
in this Tennessee team. Nighttime games, man, I mean, there's

(40:35):
not enough TVs in America. There's just just you put
every TV in America in your in your house tomorrow there's.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Nothing to bring my TVs and my streams over to
your house.

Speaker 4 (40:45):
It's crazy, man, It's crazy between the local games in
the national games, and then Charlotte fe Ce Charlotte f
c's on a seven thirty Tomorrow night at the Bank
on Apple against Montreal. But then you throw in all
the college football games c W.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
Whyite?

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Why couldn't see WW do it an afternoon game? I
guess they probably got the NASCAR Xfinity race on.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
But hey see this, that was a good, good nude
spot there. It's kind of yeah, it would have been
good there. This kind of in the way for me.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
But anyway, I will will pack up by seven tomorrow,
wolf Pack hosting Virginia Tech. Then you've got the big
national game seven thirty Oregon Penn State. We mentioned on
NBC Alabama Georgia. Can't wait to watch this on ABC
at seven thirty. And then you throw in some teams
of local interest seven thirty app State at Boise State.

(41:31):
App State, Please protect the damn football. I mean, they've
been a turnover machine the last two week games. And
then at seven forty five, South Carolina tries to bounce
back from two straight losses at home against Kentucky on
the SEC network app State Poiss on FS one.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
By the way, should mentioned that.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Looking forward to South Carolina's bounced back, this is an
absolute must have game with what's coming up with the
next four or five weeks back. I have a two
TV set up in the living room and I'm still
not sure I got enough yet. I'm gonna have to
buy a team today during the show because I might
need a third one. Well, this is where the four
I went. The hell you call it four box, box,
the multiview, whatever we're supposed to call it. That's where

(42:08):
this comes in handy, but it's still not enough. Charlotte
Ft on the other side, it's just and I want
to give my attention to these games, and you can't.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
Like the four box is great, but it's almost like
you got to pick a couple to kind of focus.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
On more than the others. There's just, my god, there's
so much going on.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
There was a moment last week when the Syracuse Clemson
game had the weather deway that kind of messed up,
like the scheduling on the TV like a little bit,
like everything was all on different channels. I had to
go up two multiviews at two different TVs. I had
seven screens.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
Going at one point. Look at QW Bone, Look at you.
My head was spinning. This is where I come in again. Guys.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
I've got three TVs, two couches, and a recliner. There's
enough space for all of us to come over to
the Marlow mansion. We can look up all the televisions,
have twenty seven screens go on at one time, and
watch every single game known to man tomorrow. All right,
let me, I'll get back to you. Let me check
my schedule, fix flounder breakfast, but not me. It's the

(43:10):
least you could do. You owe me a trip, you
know what.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Tweet out your address and well, I we'll think about it.

Speaker 4 (43:14):
Look at some of these texts coming in. You know,
we'll review. We'll review this idea A Bone and I
