Speaker 1 (00:04):
When I'll come on by. Oh is mic and boo.
This is mar Free and Man, can you go back
to texting about my butt? This is mar Free and Bone.
You have neutered me the best of those guys. Gee,
Scott spurs a jingle jangle jingle. You're listening to the
Mack and Bow Show on Mac and Bow Radio. Good morning, Charlotte,

(00:40):
Welcome board. It's Back and Bone Radio show time. We
have ourselves a training camp practice in the books. We
got a close call with Bryce Young. Nothing to see here,
ladies and gentlemen. We got injury updates, We've got acc
media days. I feel like it really begins and ends today.
I feel like it has been all right, all right,
but today business picks up. Dabbo and Belichick in the building. Today.

(01:05):
You've also got State and Duke as well, so this
should be a fun one over there. We got things
happening today. It is football time on the Mac and
Bone Show. We get a hornet's roster move as well
to toss in there to the early portion of this
radio show, and we've got I know you're shocked by
this Cam Newton in another feud. I know people are

(01:27):
surprised that Cam Newton is in a war of words
with somebody else on his fourth and one podcast, Ryan
Clark versus Cam Newton is a thing and not to
be confused with Cam Newton Paul Finebaum, which is a
recent thing. Or he also gets involved, Yeah, although he
kind of he pooh pooed Orlofsky a little bit there.

(01:50):
But anyway, you'll hear all that coming up today on
the Mac and Bone Show. We got the bone Man
in the house. You can hear him there. We got
the fit dog ready to go panthers, but his panther
had on today. Baby, look at that right right, rare baby,
It's go time on the Mac and Bone Show. What's up, Bony?
How you feel? Hey? Man? Good? You know, we don't

(02:10):
give the ACC a lot of credit for always doing
the right thing, but I have to say saving the
most anticipated coach for the last day is a brilliant thing.
All eyes on Charlotte Today. In what Many Diaz will
say heading into his second season at Duke, I know
Belichick and dab over there, it's gonna be They're gonna

(02:32):
break into programming on the major networks to find out
how does Many d As possibly out do what he
did year number one. People are even going to know
Manny was in the building. Dave Dorny either U Dordon
may like that, though, actually Dave Dorn's like, I'm just
gonna get in and get out of here, especially considering
some of the questions it would be asked right now
about that program and the state of things. But anyway,

(02:54):
Fiddy and I were talking about this earlier today and
he put it, well, the the energy in that building
in the Hilton over there is going to jump astronomically today.
I actually think they should have separated Dabo and Belichick.
I think they should have those are the two big headliners.
I think they should have separated them. I have to
be honest with you. I love the ACC. I want

(03:15):
the ACC to have success. I want them to survive,
you know. With that said, I feel like it's been
a pretty ho hum first couple of days for ACC
media days. They should have had one on. They should
have had Dabbo kick it off on Tuesday or Belichick
whatever order, but they should have had one kick it
off and then one end it so we'd have discussion

(03:35):
early about one of them. That leads into day two,
and then at the end it'll so it would go,
it would extend it out. Well, you put them both
at the end. Like tomorrow, for example, we're going to
discuss probably Belichick, maybe Dabo, but we're going to have
to figure out who said what rather than focus on
one and then get to the other one by It's
all about the ACC trying to put itself into the

(03:56):
national right landscape, and I'm not sure they will do
that until today, right, you know what I mean? Whereas
if they split them up, you know, they can get
in a national landscape a couple of different times. Although
I will be honest with you, there is a certain
coach that has been that has stirted up at ACC
media days, talk about that this week. There's a certain

(04:18):
coach that prepares Hamburgers in a very strange way. So
I was kind of into that. And then there's an
FSU quarterback that just literally needs to pipe down, just seriously.
But anyway, we got all that, so I don't know,
maybe I'm wrong, there's some interesting stuff. Maybe all right,
So today, very much looking forward to hearing the ACC coverage,

(04:38):
and of course the boys will be out there. WESN
Walker KB, the boys will be out there today at
acc media days. I think we're making a little trip
down the road to Panther practice today. Looking forward to
seeing Panthers practice. I do not want to see somebody
make contact with Bryce Young today though, all right, that's

(04:58):
my quarterback, yes today, Bone apparently, And again this is
part of what we miss out on when the fans
aren't there, because we have so many folks that would
be in the stand shooting video and the video would
go viral. This was during a time period where the
media wasn't allowed to film the last what was ended

(05:19):
up being the last play of practice, So there's no
video of this like there would be, Bone if you
would have you know what I mean, like fan video
of it and stuff like that. But the way it
has been described is princely U Man Miellen coming off
the edge I mean Bendon and getting there quickly, which
I love, but also making contact with Bryce on his

(05:41):
arm as he's throwing ball comes out, So he had
a sack force fumble. But I'm not sure. I don't
think you're supposed to have a sacked force fumble in
a training camp practice. So there's good and bad Bony,
but Bryce is all good and princely can learn from
this experience. Yeah, I'm just excited we have a edge
rusher that got near a quarterback. You're right. The downside

(06:02):
is it's your own quarterback. Hopefully that translates to the
other team's quarterbacks down the line. But yeah, you don't
want you don't want the thought of Bryce getting injured
or putting on his rumpus by his own man. But
it is, and it's a good sign that he got there.
But then we can't we can't, we can't have Bryce
herd here, fellow, you hit that arm while he's throwing.
I just watched the Quarterback Show and saw how Kirk

(06:26):
Cousins got hurt. Again, it's throwing and then your arm
gets you know what I mean? Like, that's dangerous when
your arm's out extended like that. Oh yeah, Like so anyway,
that sounds a little dicey, But we'll talk about it
later because I am having an internal debate with myself
as to whether I am upset at Princely or absolutely

(06:47):
geeked that this dude in his first training camp practice
did that. Coming up next on mac Tag, Mac debates
himself on what he feels just Yeah, you don't even
need y'all don't even need to be here. Y'all go home.
Just sit here and yell myself back and forth. But
there is a large part of me that is very
excited about this, very excited even though Bryce got hit.

(07:10):
See if he would have hit I know that he's
If he were hit Jack Plumber, we would have probably
been raving about the play of uh Princeton, but it
would have had a different feel.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Right.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Sad but true. Use those guys as tackling coming. I
can't say. I can't say you're guy Ethan Garber's because
he's he's gone longer with us. That's it, man, he's gone.
We had to bring Tray Swilling in at corner, and
the fourth string QB has left the building. A QB.
Many Panther fans didn't even know we have. I have
a feeling, and now he's gone. I remembered that he

(07:45):
was here when they announced that he was gone. U
C O A guy, right, I think he was. Did
he play a lot of UCLA. I gotta be honest
with you. I don't know much about it. I don't
know much about the Garbs. I saw that he was
at U C l A, and I'm like, I don't
know if I remember that. I remember I remember him
running the Chip Kelly offense. Really, so anyway, all right,

(08:05):
let's uh, let's start at Cow. Did he start at
Cow and go to Ucla? That's way, that's it is
beyond my level of Garber's knowledge. If you if you're
pulling that. If I get this one right, put me
on a god tear. I didn't know know Ethan Garber
is a human being until two months ago. Oh he
was Washington in Ucla. Okay, there you go, there you go.
Bone at uh swing and a miss. We got injury updates.

(08:29):
We'll let you hear what coach Canalis said about Tremble
and Martin and Bobby Brown. Those are the guys that
he gave pretty specific injury updates on us. Impressed by that.
He could have coach speaked it, but I feel like
the injury updates were pretty specific. Uh, but it was
good to have the boys out there practicing again yesterday.

(08:52):
Bone Christian Rose Boom was one of the players that
did a presser afterwards. Obviously he's newsworthy. He's stepping into
the starting lineup with Josie Jewel Gone and Christian Rose
Boom is the man with the green domins helmet. So
they went experience bone over a guy that has been
here previously. Right, Yeah, Trevin Wallace was here last year,

(09:17):
but it's just in his second year. Rose Boom, I
think is in like his fifth year. And rose Boom
pointed out he does have experience with the scheme. Coming
from LA they basically ran the scheme. You know. Of
course Averol was there too. They basically ran the scheme,
if not fully, the same scheme of Verrol runs here,
a very similar scheme. So he's got a little assistance there. Yeah,

(09:40):
I will say that, we'll see what the depth looks like.
But they're not gonna Wallace and rose Boom Mack are
not gonna lack for tackles. I don't think those guys
are gonna Those guys are gonna pick up their fair
chair of tackles in the middle there. To me, I
don't worry about those two. It's what's behind them that
is the major, major concerned because if we lost one
of these those guys, man oh man, you talk about

(10:02):
area of need. Just capable bodies all over the defense
is the biggest issue right now. I think with this
football I hope the linebackers make the tackles. Last year,
it was too often in the secondary bone the tackle
is getting made, or sometimes the tackle ain't being made
at all. True, So like, yes, I hope the guys
up front occupy the blockers and those two dudes can

(10:23):
go hunt.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
That is what we didn't really see much last year.
And that's one of the things when we compare Jewel
and Rose Boom, because I was looking at their PFF
numbers and they are pretty damn similar, bony, you know,
like we talked about them being feeling like similar players.
Josie Jewel's numbers were down on PFF quite a bit

(10:44):
from previous years in Denver. But you got to remember
Josie Jewel last year was playing on a defense where
I would say it was probably very hard to put
up good PFF grades for a linebacker, nearly impossible. It
get no damn help, whereas Rose Boom had a lot
more help on his defense for the Rams. True, you know,
so we'll see what happens. We'll be watching those guys.

(11:05):
Sounds like Austin Corbett boone was taking the initial reps
with the one ones in his battle with Cade May's
seems like Demani Richardson's getting a lot of one reps
at that safety spot. Had an interception yesterday, but it
also sounds like Nick Scott's getting in there. Ransom's getting
in there as well at that safety position. Addie Richardson

(11:27):
one of the wild cards right of this whole operation.
We knew last year internally how much they liked them.
We've talked about the safety spot. Did they need to
get somebody while if he's as good as they think
he can be, well Demani Richardson can save them having
to get somebody. We'll see what happens. It's only been
you know, one day a camp, but we do know
that last year that front office did think highly of

(11:50):
him last season, and he got experienced last year that
I don't think they were banking on him getting, you know,
but he ended up getting that experience. Played the run
pretty damn well last year, maybe an eleven tackle game
last year at one point I thin against Bucks sixty
six PFF run grade rating. And then what he's been
doing all off season is going getting the football like
that interception he made and again alert we need a

(12:12):
sounder MAC is about to overanalyze a play from a
training camp practice, but I am I'm going to overanalyze it.
But the play he made yesterday, Bryce is looking for
Renfro over the top, and he showed great range to
get over there on that back end. And if may
Rigg's going to play up in the box like we
think he's going to, you need a safety that's going
to range all the way to the sideline and be

(12:34):
able to make that play. And he made it. And
that's the type of play he's been making all off season.
OTA's mini camp stuff like that. So I am a
little intrigued. And what did Horn and Canalis both say
about Demani yesterday? The way he's communicating and for a
second year player bone in his second year training camp
where he started what like five games last year. Yeah,

(12:54):
and they're already raving about his communication. That's that's pretty cool.
Nobody can overreact. If you think we overreact to early
training camp, go check out the twitter feed. And I
was tweeting today about it of NFL content creator, a
mister Dan Mitchell content maker Upper it's more like he
has ten thousand followers. I'm not sure how this happened
back but I guess he goes and finds training camp

(13:17):
videos and breaks them down. He's got a whole assessment
of Hunter Renfro's catch yesterday, and how Hunter Renfro's been
the most dominant force so far at Panther camp, and
how Panther fans that doubted this man, Hunter Renfro are
so wrong, and how great Hunter Renfro is. And it's
all based off of one catch he saw on Twitter,
and he says on there he's been the most dominant

(13:39):
player in Panthers' training camp. The Panthers practiced yesterday bone
for about an hour and twenty five minutes. They have
an hour and twenty five of camp. Renfro's dominating it.
He says he made five highlight reel catches. Show me
the other four, Dan Mitchell, because I've seen one. It
was great. It's a great diving catch type of catch
that you expect a hands dude like this to make. Right,
But like, where are the other Like That's why I'm

(14:01):
saying content creator? How about content? Yeah? Literally, content creator,
like just making up stuff that didn't even happen. I
I God, I love him already, though I need more.
I need more. He does it for all the teams
by the way, he just searches and he goes and
breaks down what he sees on the uh you know
the Twitter clips there you go, keep me up to
date on when he goes elsewhere to other camps. Bony.

(14:25):
We gotta squeeze this in here here too real quick.
The Hornets make a roster change, so that two way
spot boney with Damian Ball that last week we were
trying to give to PJ Hall. The Hornets two way
spot no longer belongs to Damian Ball. Antonio Reeves is
brought in, so Damien Ball will always have his summer

(14:48):
league ring. But Antonio Reeves, former Kentucky shooting guard that
was with New Orleans last year, averaged seven points a
game and fifteen minutes a game, shot forty percent three.
He could shoot the ball. I tell you that, definitely
a better shooter I think than Damien Ball from the outside.
But Damian Ball was absolutely playing his ass off in

(15:10):
summer league and he gets handed his walking papers. I
don't quite get using the two way on a different
guard rather than maybe if you want, if you're willing
to move off of Ball and open up the two way,
why didn't you utilize it for PJ. Hall. That's what
I wanted though, Like, you've got plenty of guards, why
didn't you just I would have rather. There are a
big difference between Ball and I know Reeves is a

(15:31):
good shooter, but that's a shooter. Definitely. I get what
you're doing, but I would have rather if you're going
to move off one of those guys that you gave
the two way to, I would have thought that PJ.
Hall would have been a natural fit rather than another.
You need more bigs than guards. You've got plenty of those.
I would have I would have PJ Hall on a
time I want. I would have read that PJ Haul
over drew Peterson's two way. I mean again, it's I

(15:53):
don't get it. I don't know if I'm gonna be
sitting here screaming about it, but I don't really understand it.
I will say this, Reeves is interesting to me because
of the way he shoots the ball. I think there's
a little bit there defensively for him too, maybe a
three and D type guy. But that's tough for Damian
Ball because the dude was selling out. The dude played

(16:14):
like he was playing, and he was playing hard as hell.
In the Summer League, and he's a guy that does
a lot of different things. Average ONLO was fours is
a game last year he did. But I think they
probably want shooting. I think they clearly boom you look
at the offseason they have. I think they understand we
are going to shoot a ton of threes, but we
need to make more. You know. He's also going to

(16:36):
be part of what might be now the biggest rivalry
in all of sports, and that's the Hornets and the
Wizards because their fans have been beefing back for about
a week now, back and forth on Twitter, to the
point other fan bases are chiming in to try to
figure out what side they're on. Even the Atlanta Hawks
official Twitter site. I don't exactly know what the meeting

(16:56):
of that was when they called him Charlotte FC and
Wizards FC. I don't know what they were doing exactly,
but the Atlanta Hawks back are trying to figure out
officially what side they're on in this Southeast Division rivalry.
That's pretty funny. I did not realize this was going
on until yesterday. I guess it started bone when Hornets
fans were celebrating the Summer League title. Wizards fans said,

(17:20):
hold on, we beat you four times last year, settled
that we're a better team than you are, so like
we went. I guess they mocked us, yes, for making
fun of the summer league. And I'm gonna be honest
with you. We have completely gone overboard as fan base,
probably this show included. But work with us here, all right.
We don't win much, but anyway, the Wizards made fun
of us, and it was kind of like, hold on,

(17:41):
now what have you? Yeah, you won four games last year,
but what have you won? Like, could you win a
title if you showed up at the high school state
championships in the DMV, like you know what I mean
that they could be d workers. So now you have
not that DMA. Oh okay, oh yeah DMV. I'm talking

(18:02):
about the district Maryland and Virginia. You thought I'm talking
about the DMV Basketball League. Yeah, but no bones, no
wonder they got such long lines of the DMV. The
guys are playing hoops. I've never in my life. I'm
sure you have because of your connections to that area
and your wife's connections. I know plenty of Orioles fans.

(18:23):
I know Ravens fans, Commanders fans, Maryland Turfs fans, any
any even that area. I know fans of I in
my life outside a PFT comment or on barstool, I
can't name you a Wizards fan that I know in
my life. I don't know one single fan. The text
line personal life the Wizards. I don't know. Do you

(18:45):
know mac any Wizards fans? Because usually Commanders fans I
don't know. They don't really ever talk about the Wizard.
I worked in Washington, d C at XM Satellite Radio
before I came here. That was so damn long ago.
Feels like another lifetime ago. Uh. My in laws are
from the Washington DC area and love the Commanders. I

(19:06):
do not know a Wizards fan. I I am here
to tell you all the time I spent in the
DC area, I don't remember one person talking about the Wizards.
I will say this. When I was in college, me
and my buddies were kind of into the Bullets. Back then,
they had Howard and Calber chaining. They kind of had
a fun team back then. But it's been it's been

(19:27):
about thirty something years since I have really heard ed
he talk about the damn Wizards. Whyron Goodman might be.
Is he a Wizards fan. He's always complaining about him
because he's always I guess he's always arguing with us.
We have it worse than you. There weren't Wizards fans.
Life is worse, and it's it's it's like discussing who
has to No, I'm not gonna go there. We're not

(19:47):
gonna go there, all right. I told you, I told
you he's gonna break. He had a good day yesterday.
He was about to go between me and Flounder, who
has it worse, tries to find a woman. I knew
where you were going back. I read you like a book.
I didn't do it, don't fit. I stopped myself because
his Panther season, baby, and you got the Panther hat on.
I told him, I'm I didn't even know you did.
I told him I'm going stray free today. Also, I

(20:09):
told him I'm going stray free. You don't deserve the vitrio.
You work hard, you're a good person. Sometimes you don't
deserve all the strength. Oh no, I don't care about
any of that. I just it's Panther season, and I
am here to respect Panther fitting. That's that's what I
said that yesterday. I said, Panther season starts, Bone, You're

(20:29):
not gonna catch me going after my Panther buddy over there.
When we come back, we'll talk Will Wade. I'm just kidding, guys,
when we come back. More Panther Day one news and reaction,
including a Tommy Tremble injury timeline update. Sports Radio ninety
two seven. Definz to his side, did you have to

(21:08):
remind Princely and everybody that you got to take care
of teammates after that last play where he got his
hand on Bryce.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Absolutely a really close one, a great rush. Exactly why
he's here, you know, is to be able to affect
the passer and just came really tight around that corner
and kind of nick Bryce, you know, on the arm
right there. The ball comes out, and that's really not
what we want to see. I want to see that
first part of it though, and just the great bend
and flexibility and power that he has in his rushes.
So even some of the veteran guys would come up

(21:36):
at the end, they're like, hey, don't back off of that.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Just be smart. At the top cave, this is all
of us.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
We've got to take care of each other at that moment,
those decisions down the field, the decisions in the pocket.
So yeah, that's that's something that we had to talk about.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
So there you go. Princeley got a little talking to.
Dave Canalis says he took it with a lot of grace,
and I guess Princely was still taking it with grace
after the practice bone when a Panther fan said, hey, dude,
keep getting damn Paul's off my quarterback, and he tweeted
out an emoji. I never know what the emojis mean.

(22:11):
Did you see this bone? Can you either you were
fitty decipher this emoji for me. I do not speak
emoji really well other than like basic ones like te
like crying, tears and poop. I saw them. Those are
like the two I can get. It's that is a
saluting face, like I guess I got. I heard you. Yes,
that's a great, humble, cool response. I know he was

(22:36):
kind of being a jackass to yeah, yeah, yeah, you know,
And that's pretty cool for him to respond. He could
have got ticked about it. He got the point and
we will talk about this at seven o'clock. I want
honest answers at seven o'clock from Panther fans. Are you
ticked at Princely for making contact with Bryce or are
you so damn freaking excited that this dude made this

(22:57):
play on day one of training camp because this just
in both we need some damn edge rush badly. We
definitely do. Or someone's gonna say, maybe he didn't see
Bryce there enough of that, I didn't see you back there, Bryce,
see my bad? Oh my goodness, sure Bryce probably Bryce
probably Max said, oh man, that was great, good to

(23:17):
meet you Bryce. Of course Bryce was graceful about it
after Oh, you know what I mean. But anyway, slow down, fellow,
But hey, we learned a lesson. With no injuries to
the QB, we're good to go. Speaking of injuries, yesterday,
Dave Canalis was asked for a timeline on Tommy Tremble
Sam Martin and Bobby Brown, and coach Canalis ran down

(23:42):
the details on these injuries Tommy.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
So, Tommy's gonna kinda gonna have to progress week to
week for us. He's doing great. I want to say
he's a head of schedule, but I just know we're
gonna just take this thing as it comes. But right
now he's making great strides. He looks strong in his
rehe and all that. So I'm not sure exactly timeline wise,
I wouldn't say Tommy's gonna be back soon, like within

(24:06):
the next couple of weeks, but you know, I think
three or four weeks or something like that, as we evaluate,
it could potentially be there. And then Bobby, Bobby got
he got imaging and all the things. It's a hamstring,
he did some stuff. I saw him out today before practice.
He was down there running changing direction already. So he's
already starting on a pretty good curve. So I hope

(24:26):
to get him back pretty soon. Sam Martin's kind of
in the same world that way, you know. So it
was it was something we have to be precautionary about.
We don't want to throw him back out there. They
didn't clear for us right away. So but I think
he's probably on a similar timeline.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
So so yeah, it sounds like the hamstring duo bone
of Martin Brown. Sounds like that one. As Joe Person
reported this week, both of those seem like their days,
you know, just probably a handful of days. The most
effect that Sam Martin has is on JJ Janssen, because
right now JJ is having conversations with the Jugs Machine,
MACKI debating the Jugs Machine's playing the arcades with the

(25:02):
jugt JJ's having a friendship with the house Like it's
not the same. I don't have a punter to talk to.
It's just this machine launching the ball down. I heard
that he took Jukes Machine to lunch yesterday in his car.
But as far as tremble, I'll take that. Three to
four weeks was his? Was his, you know kind of estimate.
It's six weeks from today, I believe, bone to the

(25:24):
start of the NFL season, if I'm not mistaken. Obviously,
the Panthers don't play the Thursday night game. This just
in yeah, yeah, So we're talking six weeks and three
days until the Panthers will play. So if they can
get him back or three or four, I think that
will work. I you know, again, I'm not booking that
right net In Stone, but I will take that because
I was kind of, you know, concerned, like will he

(25:45):
literally go on pup list to start the season type thing?
You know, what a golden opportunity in the next four
to six weeks. Also for a guy that you and
I are both excited about. I'm sure we'll talk about
him next hour when we do a Panther player list topic.
But what an opportunity for j T Sanders now in
year two though, to really maybe solidify himself back at
the top of that depth chart. We'll see how it

(26:05):
plays out and how he looks, but JT's got some
room to be the guy here for training Kim definitely
no doubt about it. By the way. Kicking updates matthew
Wright four of five on the skinny posts. No, he
wasn't passing the ball on the skinny post route. They
use those like real thin goal post bone that are
much smaller than the regular NFL goalposts. He hit four

(26:27):
of five on those. I'm not sure bone Fitzgerald kicked yesterday,
So that is you need a sponsor for the kicking competition.
Daily update. Also, j C. Horn now has a buddy
to harass Bryce Young with the quarterbacks bone. We're warming
up and doing some throwing drills. Here comes j C.

(26:48):
Horn and Mike Jackson into the quarterback drill, stealing the
ball from him, saying, I just want to know what
it's like to get the ball from you, like we
will in a few minutes. So J C. Bone is
not a lot. Now we've got both starting quarterbacks talking
trash to Bryce Young, how about this? That can only
be a positive though? What what Bryce says back? Though?

(27:09):
I'd like to hear Bryce might dublin what he says
back to these We know what Cam would say back
to these guys. What where Bryce says? We heard a
little bit about it. Remember during OTA's there's a lot
of focus on that, so there was a little bit,
you know, we heard a little I can't really remember specifically,
but yeah, we heard a little bit about there back
and forth. You mentioned JJ Janssen. JJ Janssen took a

(27:30):
turn as a quarterback. I have no idea why this happened,
but there is video of him play faking the ball
and just singing a dime over the middle of the field.
I mean, what what precision on the throw? Was he
throwing the DB's I guess I think it might have
been a dB he was throwing too. Maybe thought it
was number twenty five. I thought it was just throwing.
Oh was it? Thoughts? Okay? I thought someone was running

(27:51):
the route for him and everything. Maybe. I mean, I
mean again, I'm just looking at the I don't know.
Maybe it wasn't. I mean, I don't think if Ethan
Garber's threw the ball that could, he'd still be here.
Maybe Jansen's the four string quarterback in camp bow Maybe
that's why Garber's was expendable. Yeah, they say J's. I
tell his putter gets back there. We gotta have some
for him to do around here. Fitty, what's up over there?
I was just going to say it was better than
Jimmy Clauson's two thousand tons in season. Yes, it was

(28:17):
it through one ball that goods. It's also hard to
tell with numbers these days, also because they're all positional
numbers now can be basically anything out there, right, So
I don't have to go back and see who that was.
By the way, fans mad at David Newton already on
day one of training camp. I think it was number
twenty five. Number twenty five is the safe safety Isaac Giffer. Okay,

(28:41):
so he's throwing interceptions on purpose? I think he was.
I thought it was a dbat jj' is the designated
I N T thrower? What were you? What was? What
were they mad at Newton about? You were telling me
about this? Yes, first tweet, oh yeah, they go into
practice for about a half hour no tweets from Newton,
and his first tweet is Bryce Young's innerception to Debonnie
Richardson and oh my god, the vulgar language that people used,

(29:04):
the big newt because he just told you that Bryce
through an interception. He got four replies right away. Three
were f you Why were they mad? Like everybody else
tweeted out that DEMONNI picked off Bryce because I because
I don't think he did any other us. It was
the first. It was the only thing. It only says
negative tweet leading up to it, like walking on the field,

(29:26):
and then like thirty minutes in its only play update
was Bryce got big yeah. And then there was nothing,
no other content. So that goes back into his history
of like, k'll tweet he tweeted out negative things about
Cam Yeah, so people just think he's waiting for something
negative to happen.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
And then.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
The replies were, uh not for the faint of heart
though I didn't even know that. He doesn't seem like
he even knows he's hated. Will you will you ask
new today? Hey man, you checked your replies lately. It's
not a good scene, right, now I would, but I've
been guilty of someone that's tweeted some mean things out him.

(30:04):
I don't want to. Oh my god, I was younger,
not now, not now, when I was young. We gotta
go back and look at him up. He legitimately is
like the nicest guy. He doesn't mean anymore. I don't
go delete some tweets. All right, We got to get
to the hell are we gonna do? Bryce and Reich?

(30:24):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, So anyway, heck you guys. I
didn't remember why David Newton got ripped and I and
I didn't remember the thank you guys for picking me up, baby,
picking me up when I am brain dead. Yeah. So
Frank Reich was in town. We talked about this yesterday
earlier this week. As the head coach of Stanford football,
yes that's a thing at least one year, sounds like.

(30:46):
But he was walking bone with some of his players
the Dean's Italian Steakhouse to go to dinner the other night,
and all of a sudden he hears someone say, hey,
coach Rank, and it's Bryce Young in his car. Bryce
s Young pulls his car for they have a great
talk and Frank W. Reich told that story at camp,
So yesterday was the chance for the media to ask

(31:06):
Bryce about the run in with coach Reich. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
I was just randomly saw coach Wright, which was really cool.
You know, I always have a ton of love for
coach Reich.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
You know, we we were still keeping keeping in contact.
You know, that was who you know, who drafted me?
Who Who's the reason why I'm here, which I'm super
grateful for, So, you know, it was it was great
seeing him.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
He had his guys too.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
I'm super happy for him at his spot as well.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Can you I do the advice that you're able to share.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Just support, you know, the same thing he's he's uh,
he's been a coach for a long time, so he
understands just how it is, and he has a lot
of respect for this coaching staff, in the unit and
this organization as a whole. So I just always supported,
which I super I definitely appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Uh. By the way, I can't say enough nice things
about coach Reich personally. Obviously the whole season here in
Carolina was ugly for every body involved. But he was
doing the interviews bone the interview circuit and he was
talking about how much he's rooting for Bryce, how happy
he is for Bryce, He's not surprised at all, how

(32:11):
excited he is for Dan Morgan. How good of a
guy Dan Morgan is, and he thinks Dan's doing a
great job. I'm telling you, Bone, you know this. Everybody
out there probably knows this, Like, not every coach would
be that big of a man, in that class ee
of a man. And granted he's got the history as
a Carolina panther, so that's part of it too, But
like he doesn't seem like he has any resentment or
bitterness at all. I'm not sure he has that in

(32:32):
his body ever. No, he's he's a first class human.
When he got hired, he brought you and I into
his office to meet him. We got to see like
a coach's office, and he was talking about old stories
and telling stuff. It was he was a first a gentleman.
If I say, if I might say, like he's just
he was like a first class person. I did talk
to a sourcemat that said the further that Frank Reich

(32:54):
walked up the street, David Tepper pulled over and handed
him his book A Cleveland Brown Place.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Coach.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Right, yeah, you left these you left he's at the office.
Use he's in the acc Oh my, I think it's
a put over. Would Frank Craike run down the Strea?
What if you were walking? What if you were uptown
Mac and you see in a car David Kathan, Frank Reike,
Oh my, guess see from kurb Michael texts in and

(33:22):
says Bryce says the word super so much that he
almost used it there and then had to stop and
change it. Yeah, he started to use super an extra
time when it wouldn't have made sense to say super. Yes,
he is a big, super excited guy.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
That is it.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
That's that's his use of super the most Three times
in that one sound by he said super. Now where
this could be a promise? They say, Bryce, how far
could you guys go this year? Well, well, I think
we could be super. Bryce Young predict Super Bowl for
Carolina Panthers. Oh man, no I met I used the
word like whe would be good. We'll be super uh
coming up at seven o'clock. By the way, we will
let you hear the clip we're holding. We're withholding this.

(33:56):
There's an embargo on this right now seven o'clock we
will break out the clip of Dave Canalis. He got
a little bold. It wasn't anything mammoth, wasn't any garon damnts.
But Dave Canalis certainly got bolder bone talking about this
team and what they're gonna be than Dan Morgan did.
So we got that coming up bone. I'd like you

(34:19):
to talk to Salty Pirate about his goal of seeing
an offensive lineman wearing the number one at some point
in his lifetime. All I'd like to see you follow
up with him on that one, says he would look
like a huge it would look like a huge Anaconda necktie.
That would involve me talking to Salty Pirates. So we're
gonna see you one of your enemies. No, he's just
but he he intentionally he goes baar poking like he

(34:42):
tries to get a rise out of everybody. So I
don't know, I don't I think he's I don't. I
never know if he means everything that he's saying all time,
like when he hypes up eau basketball nomember, I'm gonna
go out in the limb and say he definitely doesn't
believe that. When we come back, a QB and a
coach stirred up at ACC kickoff on Sports Radio two

(35:03):
seven wfend.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
You look at our league.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
We had like four ten win teams, two playoff teams
of a handful of nine win teams, thirteen bowl teams.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
In the area.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
There's just not a lot of easy wins on the schedule.
And there's other leagues that claimed death. But like in
SEC's had the same six schools when the championships, he's
nineteen sixty two, look the same cities. Not a single
one has been different since the nineteen sixty four. That'stop
heavy with me.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
That's not from death.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
Oh God. Rhett Lashley stirred it up a little bit,
got the folks at SEC country a little angry, which
is kind of funny to me. It is kind of funny.
But I have to be honest with you. That claim
that the SEC is top heavy because they've only had
six different schools when national titles since nineteen sixty four
is absolutely absurd. I mean, come on, man, trying to

(36:12):
say there's no easy games in the ACC compared to
the SEC. Listen, man, I want what's best for the ACC.
God dang, I would love it if the ACC was
dominant in every f and sport I'd freaking love it
because we'd have fans around here bone of all these
teams and they all be successful, and it would just
it would it would increase our enjoyment. But that just

(36:33):
ain't the case, man, that that is he just sounds absurd,
he really does. Yeah. Also, you're your ACC champs last
year also lost to a team in South Carolina at
the end of the season. I'm not trying to go
back to all, but what I'm saying is, you're champions
lost to a team that was left out of the

(36:54):
College Football Playoff. We can go on and on and
on about how absurd or the red lashly stuff was
to say that it doesn't the amount of championships and
the last like they've won a lot of them. Man,
I don't think anyone's debating Obama has double digits, don't
they Like it would be like saying, mag what's the

(37:15):
Atlantic Division done in basketball besides the Boston Celtics and
their eighteen titles? Like yeah, does matter? Those count? Like
those things, those things count, like those just because one
team had dominance or six teams is that low? No,
it's not. How many teams in the ACC are champions
since nineteen sixty four, Florida State, Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech
got a share a one. That's it, right, I'm sitting Florida,

(37:37):
say Georgia Tech. Yeah, so like Miami wasn't in there
when they won their stuck. I guess you can try
to claim Miami now, you know, and say they want
a nice again? What is? What does the sixties matter
right now? Like I just listen, man, Do I think
the AC Do I think the SCC bone last year,
you know, was as dominant as we've seen it previously. No,

(37:59):
I don't do. I think bone nil is leveling out
the playing field. Yeah, the big ten's won the last
two titles. I do think the landscape has changed a
little bit here. But to be an ACC coach and
be saying I love people attacking the SEC, don't get
me wrong, but that's just that feels pretty weak. Sauce man,
it does. Like, how's he saying that with a straight face? Yeah,

(38:19):
it's Georgia Tech, Clemson in Florida State since nineteen ninety
are the three that technically won it within the conference.
Obviously Miami was not there yet, So Paul Finebaum was
mad at right last year actually, I guess I'll play
fine bomb. He went again, I'm team ACC, but Rhett,
I feel like you deserve that. I again, this is

(38:40):
the time of year where some people choose to go
way over the top with their conference bravado and stuff.
And Rhett Lashley came out swinging like he's only been
in the ACC one year. This dude has become Captain
ACC in one year. Tony Pettiti some of the ridiculous
crap he was spewing the commissioner of the Big Ten.

(39:02):
But listen to fine Bomb, because of course they teed
him up bone yesterday morning on get up on these
rhtt Lashley comments about the SEC.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
First of all, I think Alabama was working about eleven
national championships in that period that he laid out. But
that's not even the main point. If I understand correctly,
he's the head coach at SMU. Greeney, I bet you
know where I'm going here. Nineteen eighty seven. You know
what happened at SMU. They shut the program down. Well,
he's making fun of the SEC for winning national championships

(39:32):
all over the place. SMU is the most corrupt program
in the history of college football, and Rhett Lashley has
the nerve to get up there and throw stones. By
the way he played at Arkansas, that should have nothing
to do with it. That's one of the most comical,
embarrassing rants I have ever heard. And I'm glad the
audio wasn't clear because I would have come right through
that screen.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
So there you go, Paul fine bomb bone. Found another
coach to rip was Lincoln Riley the day before that.
He had a problem with Cam Newton earlier this summer.
I mean, yeah, don't get me wrong, Paul stays firing
shots and strays at people. But Rhet Lashley, you asked
for it. You definitely asked for with those comments textor uh,
what's the Texas name? Here is Bubble from Stanley County.

(40:17):
If if the ACC claims Miami sec, would they claim
Texas and Oklahoma? That's a phone. That's a very very
fair point, all right, toe Toche sir double O Saints
uh double O Saints fan. RHT Lashley sounds like a
bitter baby mama. I don't really understand that. I don't know.

(40:37):
I don't really know why I read that because I
don't understand. I just got I kind of went burgundy
on that Bone and just kind of read it and realized,
I don't really understand I really don't understand the mat.
Thank's the Chandler Volta for sponsoring the studio Ceminjurywall dot com.
One call. That's all magn call when chaos happens. I
just read the Chandler Volta lineup. Well, it's a good
way to go. It's it serves two purposes. All right,

(41:00):
Let's get to one more guy that has riled people up.
Thomas Costellano's former BC quarterback, is now the transfer starting
quarterback at Florida State, and he basically called out Alabama
weeks ago in the offseason that's their Week one opponent
and basically said they don't have Nick Saban to save
them anymore. I ain't scared of them. Well, of course,

(41:22):
yesterday Bone, when he went up to the podium at
ACC kickoff, he was asked, do you want to take
that back? Would you do anything differently?

Speaker 2 (41:31):
Would have things.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Differently, most definitely, But I stand on what I said. Well,
we stand on what I said. So I said what
I said, We stand on that, and I don't mean
no disrespect to none of those guys at Alabama or
anything like that. It's just I have confidence of my
guys and the work that we've been putting in and
with hearing and the preparation we've been putting together. So
that's all that was. I just no disrespect to those guys,

(41:55):
but we stand on what I said.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
Mac no disressive in Florida State. I think will be
better than last year because I don't think there's very
much to go. I think this whole thing here, I
think Bama is going to be awoken in week one.
I think Bama now has their sight set. I think
Bama was gonna crush for the state now I don't.
I think they're already motivated enough for being week number
one in a non conference game between two big programs.

(42:22):
I think Constellanos stepped in it, and I think I
think you're gonna see Bama wooped for the state League one.
I think it's gonna get ugly for m oh Definitely.
Alabama has so that I thought initially, I think that
could happen anyway, This is not, this is not gonna
Costellanos is in trouble now. I don't think he and
his teammates can you know, cash the checks that his
mouth is riting. I don't think so at all. I

(42:44):
don't know what kind of team he thinks he's joining.
I don't know what kind of quarterback who lost his
job at BC he thinks he is. He's a talent.
Don't get me wrong. He had like eleve hundred yards
rushing two years ago. But yeah, I I and he
kind of back down. He kind of admitted to the
start of that, but yeah, I'd probably do things differently.
But then he went on to continue to black ross
stamp and then he got his teammates involved. We stand

(43:04):
by what I said. It's like, really, did you ass have?
Are you just throwing them in there? They got no
choice but to stand by what you said. You opened
up your damn trap icking that he and Bill O'Brien
couldn't get along either. By the way, it's it's hard
to see that happening, and many don't. Man. I mean,
show me the list of people bone to get along
with Bill O'Brien. That must be that must have been combustible.

(43:25):
What's the is there? One person is Bill O'Brien's wife
even on that list. Last thing I want to do
is ask this question. So today at ACC Media Days,
here in Charlotte's final day, and we mentioned earlier this
is gonna be a fun one. We have a lot
of good stuff to cover tomorrow on the show with
what people say. But you got Clemson, you got UNC,
you got State, and you have Duke. Do you think

(43:49):
Jordo is in the house with Bill Belichick today? Yes? Really?
Because of the Hulu cameras and stuff, she's not. They've
got to I mean, will she appear, you know, in
front of the will she be seen? She's got to
be here with them. There's got to be some behind
the scenes they're doing that show and the media, so
this stuff right here has to be part of that

(44:10):
show to some degree. I would think that she has
to be somewhere involved in this stuff today, if somewhere
some way that so many many thinks she's going to
be there, I think there is no way, Like she's here,
but what we see her. Will she be at the
Hilton today with Bill Belichick when he's walking around? Yes,
I just I they can't do that. They they spent

(44:32):
the whole off season dealing with all this stuff that
she's too involved and she's sending emails to the SID
people and stuff like that. She's controlling him in interviews.
She has completely disappeared since since the whole Pablo Torre thing. Right,
they cannot let her be seen there. They can't, right,
Mcca had a source tell me she'll be on hand

(44:54):
so Bill can play Punchbuggy with her while in between interviews.
Could you see her mag having small talk with Dabo
on the side. Well, it's good to me, Jordan. I
did the show with Bill there with Rays Davis. You
guys are fighting that bilight that punch Buggy gave us.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
Olf.

Speaker 1 (45:10):
She's got to stay home at the very least stay
in the hotel room or something. At the very least
just go shopping, go to South Park Mall or something.
But she like, I can't imagine the UNC folks let
her be seen over because that's just gonna start it
all up again. There she is, thought she wasn't involved
in UNC football matters. We'll get your hair and makeup
done for the next pageant. You're gonna lose, Like, come on? Plus,

(45:32):
uh does Bill? Does Bill want her around? The host
of the heel Top blog podcast. I don't know. That's
that's not a good that's not good for both those
of Casanova's man. Mister s do your girls look out?
Look out, hoodie. We'll look at that Patrick. She'll never
be the same. Oh no, man, right, the guy got
burned over the weekend. We birds Pagnana. I would pay money,

(45:53):
uh to somebody to ask Belichick during the presser today, Hey, uh,
I never seen you as a punchbuggy guy. Why you
like playing punch buggy? It's a fun game to play
mental strength Where the punchbuggys are When we come back,
We've got camp questions. Did Princely tick off fans or
fire them up? And can the Panthers back up the Canalis?
