Speaker 1 (00:19):
It's really deep.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I just applaud the competition, their approach. So I've been
part of like a lot of a lot of rooms
that have diverse skill sets. But this group, this group
top to bottom. He said, hey, I want you to
conceptually learn so we can plug you and play in
different spots. All those guys are playing different spots. They're
all challenging each other and pushing each other, and you
don't feel like there's a huge drop off when you
go from one group to the next. Andy always chuckles,

(00:43):
He's like, you know, hey, first group's up, all right,
second groups off. He's like, no, it's just the next guys, right,
He's like the old wily that He's like, I don't
want to be the two's like, I want to be
the next guys. And that's truly truly what it is.
They're all they're all making strides together as a group,
and they're all pushing each other and uh, and there
really isn't a drop off because they're feeding off each
other's the coaching points like we were talking about in

(01:03):
those seven on seven periods where we go watch as
a group, they're taking those coaching points to heart and
they're applying to their own game.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
That is, Brad, it's a defensive coordinator for your Carolina
Panthers talking about what we're all talking about, the depth
of the receiving corps.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
This is fun.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
First of all, it's a fun position, right, It's a
sexy position. It's a position Bone that you know, hell,
even in a twenty fifteen season, Benjamin was that.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Like, we weren't. We weren't even.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Great in the twenty fifteen season at that position. And
I feel like, more often than not, Bone, we have
not had depth at this position. But we do this
year and it's freaking exciting. It really is. Later this hour,
you'll hear Idzick talking about the route running of Hunter Renfro,
which is just I mean, if you got young receivers
out there you're training, let mean just watch some of

(01:54):
this dude running routes.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
It is precision. I mean, it's beautiful.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
It's always what the other guys say about a player,
and when the dbs are raving about another player that
we're out running in footwork, you know, the guys special.
It's about the what the the peers opinion is off
the charts with that. Definitely definitely Bone. Also KB talked
to Hunter Renfro yesterday. Check them out on all the
all the platforms. Our interviews yesterday, we have a bunch

(02:19):
KB talked to three of the wide outs this day
as well. Make sure for your Panther interview content. Check
out Apple, Spotify, WFNZ. There is a ton of stuff
on there from yesterday, in the last couple of weeks. Yeah,
I mean it's like ten interviews between our two shows yesterday.
So yeah, you've got a lot of content that you
can check out there on you know where you where

(02:40):
you're gonna get Applespotify, WFNZ, dot com, wherever you're going
to get it.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Remember to stream too, Like it's we're not in the
world where if the radio signal get we get people
all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Bone, I can't the signals a little messed up or whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
We're in twenty twenty five, baby, listen on that app
that download the WFNZ app, and that should be great
insurance if the signal you know wherever it is if
there's something going on.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
And shout out to the one guy who was mad
last week that we weren't on six ten and I
had to explain we have not been on six ten
in about three years. Now, come on over, Pal, there's
always one person, Max still hanging around on the LA.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
No, come back, come up just a bit behind.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
All right, this is dangerous, Bone, what's getting ready to
occur right now is very dangerous. I'm feeling dangerous. Measured
Mac might need to see himself out during this segment.
Are you at the point I'm asking all the Panther
fans listening, Bone, Panther Fitty, I'm asking everybody, are you
watching and you know, following this preseason getting excited about

(03:40):
the offense At the very least, I would think all
of you are at least getting excited about the offense.
But are you starting to up your expectations Bone for
this offense or do you say, chill out, it's too
early for that.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
No, I'm getting excited.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Like I'm starting to think, if everything goes well, they
remain healthy, can they be a top ten to twelve
offense in the league. Somewhere in the neighborhood. I'm counting
how good the running game I think will be. Think
about the depth of the team offensive line, deep wide outs.
There may not be a prototypical number one right now,

(04:18):
but it's deep across the board, and they all can
kind of do different things. Running backs deep, Rice Young
getting better. We hope that the tight end like JT.
Sanders can emerge. To me, that's still a question on
the offense, but there's not nearly as many questions offensively
as we've had in the past. If they're all there,
they're all healthy, there's not many weak areas in my

(04:39):
view of the offense right now to not be a
good offense. The only negative for the offense in training
camp is the injuries on the O line. Right you
have your first two choices at left guard hurt in,
Damian Lewis and Zavalla. It does kind of sound like Bone,
Like Canalis mentioned Zavala hoping to get him back for
next week for Pittsburgh so you can get some preseason

(04:59):
reps in. It does kind of sound like they'll be
back to start the regular season.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
But I still think Bone.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
If they have to plug cade Mas into that spot,
I think they're fine. I still think they have enough
depth to where if you're plugging Cad Mason. I do
think the performance of the backup tackles the other day,
Brady c and Nyman, that was a little concerning. But
I mean, just about every sign with this offense in
the preseason is one that is exciting, man, it really is.

(05:27):
And the thing about the receiving corn I forget.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
I can't give any offensive minded coach who's only going
to get more in his bag all.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
The second year of his system. What did he tell
us Bone that he is expanding in year two? He
can expand and go deeper. He says, he's got all
this stuff Bone that is untapped and untouched, and now
Bryce is more comfortable with it, the players are more
comfortable with it. So that's another reason to get excited
about the offense.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
It really is, man. So it's hard for me.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
And that's why I tole measure back get his us
out of here, all right. It's hard for me, Bone
to not feel like the way the receiving corps is performing,
you know, Cocher making another step, Renfro being compared to
his Pro Bowl self.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
It's hard for me to team Ac.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Being a guy that you know, Yeah, there are some
moments where he you know, is dropping or he and
Bryce aren't on the same page, but man, they're feeding
that dude, and he when he does come up with
a play.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
It's a big, awesome play.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It's hard to not feel like I think this offense
might even be better than I was thinking all summer long,
and we can't be the only ones. I know, it's
dangerous to think that over camp and one preseason game.
I know it's dangerous, But if you're a Panther fan,
are you not going there yourself?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
We are on the highway to the danger zone right now? Back,
But I'm okay, I'm along for the ride with you.
What was the the exact numbers you gave out last week?
Also about the defenses they start with in the first
seven games, because that's a factor as well. They're not
exactly playing the best defenses in football for nearly the first,
hell almost two months of the season. There's a lot

(07:07):
of opportunity to be had against They're getting four of
the bottom eleven from last year. There's a number, so
it doesn't always carry over, right, But that's at least
something you look at and say, we might be playing
some defenses that we can get after hell, look at
two of them. Two of them Bryce shredded last year
right at the end of the season. One like he
did in Week one. It was we got the Cardinals

(07:27):
and the Falcons.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
In week two and.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Week three, Brice put up thirty six and forty four
respectively on them fools.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
There you go, and Jacksonville's Jacksonville's got some They've got
some talent and Walker and Heinz Allen and we'll see
Travis Hunter early. But I don't think Jacksonville makes the
defense where I say, oh my god, week one. The
Panthers can't exploit some of that stuff either. You got
some potential down the line, but they're not. They're not,
they're not. I'm not losing sleep over the Jaggie wires.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Seven oh four number Panther Mack is back Matt in Greensboro.
The only thing they'll get me more excited that I'm
about this offense is blue choo, Matt and grace for us.
You combine that with spelling salts. Got that's called the
full Bailey if you too, if you do smelling salts,
and then take.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
The blue chew bone. Bailey has not trying to have
Oka be here. But Bailey has the salt in his
cup holder now. So when he's when he's going down
seventy seven, he gives it a big old way from there,
he goes h Laurie says, definitely chill out, still skeptical.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
I just hope we look respectable. So that is Measured Laurie.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
She is not.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
She did not tell Measured Lauri to leave when she
sent that text. Fitty, can you hear the people chanting
out their fitty? Mac mac mac mac mac mac mac
mack mack mack mack mack mack.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Oh, guys here, I'm bad to go cam on you.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
What do you think, Panther, Fitty, do you listen to
this and say, dude, just chill out.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
A little bit?

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Or no?

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Well, obviously not, because I was the guy that founded
the Panther ten win Club, and I think this offense
was already going to be top ten, top twelve. After
being at the preseason game and seeing what t Mat
can provide the offense that down the field passing through,
I don't think that's even more possible that this could
be a much more explosive offense. So with you believing

(09:13):
that this offense could really be really, really good, Mac,
I will open the door, send the invitation.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Do you want to join the ten win? Why do
you ruined this moment? Fit?

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Why do you got ruined this moment. Why are you
gonna invite measured back back in? Kick this out of
the room. Vegan's about himself here. I believe we want
you on the wagon. Mac, don't don't talk about inventing
wagons here. Who are the two guys were talking to
you here? We've had more We've had more rides than
our wagons crash fitting. Yes, you'll drive you home, drive

(09:43):
your wagon. Get more fans on the ten win wagon.
I completely am here for fans joining Fitty's ten win wagon.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
I'm just saying, Magi, they're gonna be as good as
you're saying they're gonna be. They're gonna win ten games, baby,
They're gonna win in games, I think.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
But again, it's the defense is the is the question right?
And special teams is now a question. I gotta be
honest with you after what I saw the other night.
I know JJ came on and wanted to explain to
us why you know special teams because of who you're
playing and you know, in different spots at different times
in the game, and you know, he wanted to explain
to us why special team struggles early in the season,

(10:17):
but they were replacing a lot of guys on those
coverage units. The kickers, you feel like, you feel like
those kickers are game winners. Yet I don't know. So
let me stay at eight wins. Don't ruin the moment,
don't ruin the conversation.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I'm sorry a lot.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Let's just talk about you got greedy, Fitty, you got greedy.
You saw it as an opportunity to get me on board,
hand in hand with you.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Are you with me, Bone or are you up in
the win total? Because I'm staying at the same win total.
But I think the offense could be in a higher
ranking in the league than I initially thought entering the
summer month. This dude says to the defense still has
a long way to go before you know they have to.
I can see them getting in more high scoring games

(11:00):
with this offense being better, But I I the defense
to me, they're not gonna go from the worst ever
to all of a sudden, like good overnight.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
It's gonna take a while year.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
This texter says, says, I don't understand it if you're
sitting here, Raven, acting like we've got the greatest show
on turf, and you don't even think we have a
winning record.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Because defense and special teams I think are major question
marks right now. Special teams is gonna take a while
too to adjust here. There's a lot of changes on
that side. Also, special teams has not been a big
concern in the last couple of years, despite the team
not being very good. Now I could see them, Mac
having a moment here this year where they have a
really competitive game, comes out to the end and maybe
they they miss a kick now or yeah, something goes Aron.

(11:41):
I won't be a bat snow, but tell you that.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Much big pains clearly not clearly not big pain, says
special teams. Providing short fields hurts your defense. Yeah, that's
I think.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
I'm just we're evaluating everything here. But I'm telling you,
like so, special teams, I'm more worried about than I
was Bone during the summer offense. I'm more bold this
texter says we're gonna win shootouts. Mac, I'm with Fitty.
You sound you sound scared on the radio. I am scared.
I was scarred is the word right? Put a next

(12:12):
r in there. Scarred from the defense I saw last year.
I am scarred now Dan Morgan hit that defense and
all those needs really hard, and there is no doubt
in my mind we'll be better against the run. You
get dB backbone, You bring in Bobby Brown, who was
great the other night. You bring in Turk Wharton. He
wasn't necessarily I didn't think great the other night, but
we know his track record. We will be better up front,

(12:34):
There's no doubt about it. It was, but there are
still depth concerns. What if we get injuries on that
back seven? So I just I don't know. I'm comfortable
where I am with eight wins. Man, y'all trying to
Why do y'all even want this? I'm the Jinks, I'm
the curse, I'm the schlepperrock. Why did they even.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Want me to do this? Excuse us?

Speaker 4 (12:52):
We watched a seventeen week John Carpenter movie last year,
and it's gonna take a while to get over that,
all right. It was a horror movie almost for a
couple of years almost. So let us let us just
get into the season. Man, let us go, man, just
let us let us be measured here. I'm saying us
because I think Mac is right on this one. Here.
If Mac comes on proclaiming eleven or twelve wins, people

(13:13):
would say he's crazy, and if I just I got
you honest with you, I love to call Mac out
when he's wrong, and he's wrong a lot like it.
It does happen quite a bit like it's I think,
mathematically crazy, how wrong he is? Well, in this particular case,
I think Mac's taking the right approach. I'm gonna support
him on this.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
He is.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
But I hear the concerns about the defense. Let me
make my my counter argument. You've got a roadblock in
the middle with Derek Brown, you got a famous Jamis
at linebacker and Trevin Wallace, and you've got a seat
belt in the secondary with j. C.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Horn.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
You've got playmakers at all three levels. What could get wrong?
Maybe a Guerira Vera's gonna coach his ass off. What
the defense is going to be If they are a
top ten offense and they are a top twenty defense,
how do they not make the playoffs? Like I mean,
I'm just trying to fit with with with this schedule.
If they're a top ten offense, top twenty defense, I

(14:03):
don't know, there's ten.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
I don't know if the defense is going to get
the top Cowi's new to pander fandom when he said
what could go wrong?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Yes, Charlotte sports fans, that's our first rule of Charlotte
sports fandom.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Don't ever ask what could go wrong?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Another one we've asked before way too many times, how
could it get any worse? And then it does? Listen,
I would not. I don't know. Let's see this preseason
play out. I would if we're twentieth in the league,
I'd be happy. I'm just gonna put it that way.
Bone on or Fitty on defense. This Texter says Fitty
is annoying as hell. An eight win season would be

(14:38):
a great step. Fitty on here, acting like anything below
ten is a disappointment.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Literally never said that.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Yeah, don't don't set the bar so high to where
you're upset if they win a games, though, I'm with
this guy on that.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
You know, if they win eight games, that says that's
still progress, that's still a step in the right direction.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
I would be thrilled to go eight and nine.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
I think ten and seven is on the table because
of what they got at quarterback with the schedule that
I think they're gonna win some games that people at
the national media, the Dallases, the Miamis I think Carolina's
winning those games. They win those games and they take
care of the division. There's ten wins to be had.
But I'm not I'm certainly not saying it's impossible. I'm
certainly not saying it's not within their range of wins.

(15:23):
They need to stay healthy, probably in the back seven.
They need things to go their way. I really wanted
this segment to be all positive.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Bone.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I believe Fitty has thrown a wrench into this plan.
This was supposed to be are you excited about the offense?
We were gonna ignore the other two phases like you
know what I'm saying, I just want to talk about
and this guy brings up a great point seven oh
four number Mac. The most exciting thing about this offense
and these wide receivers is we're a run first football team.
It's not even like the young guys need to carry

(15:54):
the team. We're going to run the ball and Bryce
is gonna hit them on play action, play action downfield,
the team, play action downfield, the cocher who is showing
that level of his game. How about Jimmy Horn downfield
on a deep shut Like, yes, I love what you're saying.
It's bad it feels like we have a chance to
be balanced. Run first, hopefully, but balanced.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
FanDuel Texter seven oh four, five, seven, nine, six ten
says Fiddy needs to take a cool shower and calm down.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Oh that's right, he doesn't know how likes helpuke.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
If he gets in the shod, don't put him in
the shower. He's gonna throw up in there.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Also in Ishmael said, based off the uh police the
police Athletic League thing yesterday, the thirty two mac you
said the how tall and big thirty two was for
the kids team yesterday, Ishmael said, that was Fiddy out
there playing.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
No, this kid was had muscles.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
That's a difference, Kirk Warren comming in my muscles, what
are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Likes the Paycheck says Fitty's fake fandom is nauseating. Another
text seven oh four number it sounds like Fitty is
over comping, saying for the fact that people think he's
not a real Panther fan, like he's trying to prove
he's a bigger fan than the actual Panther fans.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
That's interesting theory? Is that interesting theory? You got nothing?

Speaker 4 (17:16):
What he got caught that one it's now four three
to one in the non listening Challenge. When we come
back what the Belief stories in sports and in life
that make us say, what the belief. We're also going
to move some product here for the New York Butcher
Chop during the break as well on Sports Radio ninety
two seven WFNZ.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Sports Radio seven WFNZ Mac and Bone with you. Happy
whatever day it is, everybody, Wednesday, middle of the week.
Panthers went just to walk through today, not a you know,
I'm not a practice opening a media or anything, and
they're flying to Houston. Tomorrow is joint practice day with
the Houston Texans down there in Houston. Right now, though,

(18:20):
Bone man, it is what the bleep time we give you.
We pushed it back a day.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
We didn't want the bleep at Panther camp.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yesterday, all right, we had business detention, we had to
talk to the fellas. But today we get back to
the shenanigans known as what the bleep. These are stories,
these are sound bites. These are things that we must ask,
what the bleep? We must also laugh at these things
as well. What do you got, boney, doctor bone, doctor bone,
What does doctor.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Bone have here?

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Fitting enough because, according to the Flagler County Sheriff in Florida,
we have one of the most disturbing cases of medical
fraud ever been investigated. A fake nurse, our twenty nine
year old Autumn Bardisa treated over four thousand patients without

(19:04):
a nursing license. The only reason they caught her Mac
she got promoted. She was so good that being a
fake nurse, she got promoted and they realized, oh bleep, she's
not really a nurse, and now she's in trumple.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
No God, imagine if you're on that list. Then she
took care of how are you feeling right now about
your health?

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Between June of last year in January of this year,
she treated four thousand, four hundred and eighty six patients,
all to rave reviews about how great she was.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
What the bleep? How does she get away?

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Like?

Speaker 3 (19:39):
I don't understand? How does that happen? How she just
keep doing this over.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
And over again?

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Everybody thought she worked there, Yes, only in Florida. Mac,
Can you fake a job and be better than everyone
else in your in your in your medical facility? Did
you imagine Mac being a fake medical professional? You and
you're and you're a standout that does. You're right, that
does probably speak to Florida. And someone like that looks
like they're great at their job. What the bleep we

(20:05):
do in Florida? We ask you this every week? But
what are we doing down there?

Speaker 1 (20:09):
All right? Don't let the fake nurses in? All right? Bone,
I've got to what the bleep?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
This poor woman, Megan Reinerson, This poor woman is a
nanny and she is an aspiring actress. Bone, This poor
woman had a horrible day. She got onto a plane,
Bone and before they could even take off, had to
use the bathroom. She had she had the runs, uncontrollable Bone, uncontrollabone.

(20:34):
No United Airlines it. It made such a bad smell
from the back of the plane before they even took
off that United Airlines, according to the New York Post,
had to call off take a take off for a
for a few minutes so that has Matt's specialists could
clean up what happened in the bathroom.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
So she got tagged. She got tied as a bio hazard.
This poor did you imagine, man, bleep, coming off the
plane and you got a bio hazard tag on you
with hasbat take it off? You you think taking it
you'll think you're taking off your shoes as bad. This
is a whole other level.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Of a bio. I'm telling you I've been there before. Man,
fat Mac. When I just ate anything, I just I
mean young Mac, A lot of beers, a lot of wings.
I mean, I feel like I feel like I could
be this woman. So I kind of feel I have
a soft spot. I gotta what to bleep you girl,
because that's crazy. But anyway, that's that's unfortunate.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Man.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
That is oooh man.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
All right, how Today's Jimmy v Award for don't give up,
don't ever give up, goes to a man in London,
England named Luke Windtrip because his fiance or his now fiance,
said yes to his proposal on the forty third time
he asked her, she rejected him. Over seven years. The

(22:00):
forty two times he proposed Mack at Castle's Musicians, magic Tricks,
stage white Dinners. He did everything possible. She said no
forty two times, but they always say forty three is
the magic number for love, and Sarah finally said yes,
broke her down, her down. They met where the Eastern

(22:22):
Hemisphere meets the Western Hemisphere, and that did the trick
some spot somewhere, they stood, they came together. I always
believe back that love will find a way, especially over
forty times.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
Everybody.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
That's a story out there, young kids out there, whatever
you want to do in life, all right, just keep
at it, keep at it. The only reason this is
what the bleep is why if she turned him down
forty two times, was she still with him? I don't understand.
This man was running trick plays too. This man was
running trick play engagements like he wasn't just doing the
normal engagement. This dude brought out the bells and the

(22:54):
whistles like forty times, and she still was impressed.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
I don't understand. I don't either. Also, so why was
she with them? And why did he try forty three times?

Speaker 6 (23:05):
Like?

Speaker 4 (23:05):
At what point would you not say, you know what,
I'm out of? How many how many tricks in the
bag there, how many reverses, how many fake punds, how
many keepers like this guy's playboy? We need to win
this guy's playbook. He knew she was the one man,
fit dog.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
This is guy to inspire you, baby, all right, stay
at it, fit dog.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
All right.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Once we get to forty three matchmakers I think that'll
be it for you, all right, yes, sir oh Man,
all right, I got to tell the story bone he saw.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
I'm rejected by forty three different people.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
I gotta tell the story of some carjackers Bone that
we're trying to steal a car. There was a couple
in the car and a couple of carjackers bone hopped
in and they wanted to steal the car, all right,
So they basically threw the woman out of the car,
and then they realized, oh no, this is a stick

(23:58):
shift and they could not drive stick neither one of
the two carjackers. So then they had to kidnap the
man that was driving the car and say you drive
the car and get us out of here. The cops ensued,
there's a chase going on. This guy's like, I don't
even want.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
To outrun the cops. I'm just gonna pull over.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
He pulls the car over to the side of the
Roadbone carjackers hop out and the cops catch him. Carjackers,
all right, I don't know if that's a good idea
aboon him to give carjackers advice on live radio, but please,
carjackers know how to drive any kind of vehicle. You
don't know what kind of vehicle that you're gonna hop in.
You can't be an automatic only carjacker in this world,

(24:40):
all right? What to believe we do in there? Poorly planned?

Speaker 4 (24:43):
This feels like the plot of a Kevin Hart Dwayne
Johnson movie, Like a scene and now one of those
side of movies Kevin Hark gets thrown out of the
car and then and then Dwayne tried in the It
feels like a movie. Can no one drive a shift?
Stick shift nowadays?

Speaker 3 (24:58):
When I was growing up, it was something like, I
just feel like we all had to learn, Like I know,
I'm an old unk here and stuff. But it feels
like none of y'all out there can drive a stick
shift now like you can either of you?

Speaker 1 (25:09):
No, not at all? No, Like is it? I guess
ever ever had it, never had a car with that?
I guess you don't have.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
I guess there's such a small percentage of cars like
it feels like in the old days back in mind
at it feels like in the old days bone that
were a higher percentage.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Of cars were stick shifts. I think now.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Cars could drive themselves in the place. You don't even
need to be able to drive. Now, Mac, I'm going
to call an audible here because you just brought up
onunkin driving. I want you, if you can, to tell
us the story that you told us about little Mac yesterday,
who's very close to getting his license, right very close, hopefully. Yeah,
he's got he's got a car that he's wanting to

(25:45):
drive badly by himself. You told us that Mac Junior
has been sitting in the driveway in his car, just
hanging out for a while.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
Now, my wife got a new got a car for herself,
so she passes down her vehicle to little Man. He's yeah,
he's so excited to drive this car. First of all,
he's put all the accessories that he got for his
mom got him for his birthday, but all the accessories
in the car. They're ready to go. But yeah, he'll
just randomly say, Dad will go hang in my car
and you just sitting there and scroll his phone, just

(26:15):
like he would be doing upstairs in his bedroom. But
does it just sitting there in the driveway in his car,
is that what the bleep worthy?

Speaker 4 (26:22):
You finally got him back to stop playing video games.
Now he's just sitting in his car. How long back
until you're in the driveway in your car and he's
in his car. Hither one wants to go inside? I
came home one day and with him and two of
his friends just sitting in the car. He says, we're
just sitting in here. I said, what are you practicing?

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Cruising?

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Hell's going on in there? One of the friends probably said,
what could be better than that?

Speaker 3 (26:43):
I know the fact that you got two friends to
sign off on that is also.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Disturbing, because they are they pretending where they're going they're
gonna DoorDash to the car WHI they're at a drive
through window, Just drop the bag off out of my window.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Y'all got kids in their knuckleheads, man, don't they do stuff?
And you're just like, what the heck is going on?

Speaker 4 (27:00):
I remember when we went to a homecoming night my
senior year of high school, and we thought, you know what,
We're gonna get these hats and people are gonna think
they're the funniest hats ever and this will be the
greatest night of our lives. And it was those really
like tall foam beer hats. Yeah, and they were the
stupidest looking things ever. And people are like, how dumb
are these guys. So the greatest night of our life

(27:22):
involved in high school wearing gigantic foam beer hats in
the ground. I respect it. I respect it. When you're young,
everything seems cool, man, And we realized how dumb was I.
We got on TV in high school an Orioles game.
We did like the go Orioles like painted chests. Yeah,
and we got on TV. We showed up to school
the next day. Our teachers like, hey, I saw you
with your shirt off at the pit. You know, yeah,

(27:42):
I do.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
But so I feel like everybody grows out of that,
except Buffalo fans. They still do a last but not
last Mac Junior stories are hilarious. Last I'm telling you, man,
the kid is a damn true. I can't be the
only one with a kid that makes you shake your
head routinely.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Right anyway, I've got it. What the bleep?

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Tyres Maxie of the Philadelphia seventy six ers. This man
had to go on IG Live this week bone to
get advice on how to open a can opener. Needed
somebody to tell him and explain to him how to
use a can opener. You are a grown man that
doesn't know how to use a can opener? What the

(28:22):
bleep bone? What do you think about that? They can
be tricky at times?

Speaker 4 (28:26):
So, like you know, I've I had to run in once,
but I'm good with it now. I've went to YouTube
and saw how people did it. We all have something
that we're not good at. I've said before, mine's parallel parking.
But one thing that's a household type thing that I
can't do, I can't iron I just I can't figure

(28:46):
that out.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Lena.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
You plug it in and then you wait for to
heat up, and then you just run it across your clothes.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
It feels like your stands. It's a lot of effort.
You know, they invented dryers that can do the same
thing for you. So I never even I've tried before.
Ironing is just a skill that I think it's an
acquired skill.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Okay, acquired skill, Finny, is the can open a problem
for you?

Speaker 1 (29:07):
I've never had a problem opening up my way to can?

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Mac?

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Hey, no, yeah you have? Actually? Oh?

Speaker 5 (29:13):
Also, how are you judging Bone for not knowing how
to use an iron? Mac returns to the grill Bone
and can't even grill the important food, and he's judging
you're be able to work in iron correctly.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
I was at the audacity of this man.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
I was actually going to do full disclosure here. My
wife has to use the can opener for me. Sometimes
I'll get it, but I would I would say seventy
percent of the time I end up asking Christina to
open the open the damp can for me. It is
bad iron. I don't really understand what the issue is there, Boe.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
I got the dryer. What do I have a dryer for?
When do you iron clothes? Mac? Because they ain't during
the work week.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Oh jeez, I don't iron, damil you guys have some
heat today going on there. I don't iron a damn
thing anymore. I mean, I'm married. I don't you know
what I'm saying. I don't need to iron. I don't
need to open can cans up like you know what
I'm saying. I don't have to grill. I mean, I'm
basically I am basically missus Max's third child.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
Right.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
It's sad, but it's a thing.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
But no, fiddy, I'm asking the question, like, if you
have to iron, where does the difficulty come in?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
It's all masking.

Speaker 5 (30:22):
Honestly, If I ever need a shirt that has to
be ironed. I just throw it on the dryer. Can
we hear I respect that? We respect that real quick?

Speaker 4 (30:32):
Can we hear mad Dog Russo of mad Dog unleash
his Heisman Trophy selection?

Speaker 1 (30:37):
And he's got a good one here? Can we hear it? Pitty?

Speaker 7 (30:40):
And you know they put Clemson right in the top
five too. You know, Clemson's got eighty one percent of
their team back and the quarterback is back too, and
he's got a chance on Heisman Trophy. He's a good
He's that guy's gonna be good pro. He's a Kubiak, Kubiak,
whatever his name is.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
He's a good player. Now your thoughts on Kubiak's chances?
The one of the Heisman Dad Clemson, he's.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
One of those.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
He is the president of the old guys that can't
get names right fan club, and I am joining that club.
The older you get bone, the more sports names in
your head, the harder it is to get sports names right.
So yeah, we'll want to bleep him because it's about
his one millionth of this calendar year.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
Problem is, but like he like old guys do this, man,
but he's done this since he was in his thirties. Well,
he's on the radio. That's the problem with him.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
You know what I mean is maybe there's a little
like like everybody's dad out there to screws up. Now
you say, your dad screws up the sports names all time. Bone,
It doesn't matter he doesn't have a radio show. At
some point, you would think he could try to get
some of the names right. Sometimes he messes. Sometimes he
messes up my name. Oh your dad not mad Dog
Russell my dad.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
When we come back here on the Mac and Bone Show,
coach Speak Avero, will you'll hear from him on how
he changes the scheme Meat Year, Fracy Smith the Special
Teams Coach Book Yesterday, and Brad Izick as well about
Hunter ren b don't miss that sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (32:25):
The kicker competition is going great. Both guys are doing
a really nice job. They both made their kicks all
in the game. That's the most important part of it,
and we're gonna keep going forward in the same way
until it's time to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Do you feel pretty confident that one of these two
guys is the answer.

Speaker 8 (32:39):
I think we have NFL kickers on our team, so yeah,
that's what we're getting ready for.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
That is Tracy Smith. I don't know, Boney, Maybe we
need to hone in on this again. Here is he
confident in matthew Wright and Ryan Fitzgerald Based on that response,
that's right there. We're back on the Back and Bone show.
It is time for coach speak. Ashley Westwood, the captain,

(33:06):
the skipper of your Charlotte f's, your red Hot Charlotte
f C squad is coming up at eight o'clock. He
was in the sinbin over the weekend Bone essentially too
many yellow cards could not play. So I want to
talk to him what it was like to watch the
watch the lads and not be a part of things.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Play that again, Fiddy.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Listen to this Bone, Listen to the stiff follow up
question and his answer. Because you asked this question, did
you ask it to Dan Morgan?

Speaker 1 (33:36):
I did.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
He's the kicker on the roster. Do you feel strongly
about that? Listen listen to this with Tracy Smith, our
special team's coordinator.

Speaker 8 (33:43):
The kicker competition is going great. Both guys are doing
a really nice job. They both made their kicks in
the game. That's the most important part of it. And
we're gonna keep going forward in the same way until
it's time to figure it out.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Do you feel pretty confident that one of these two
guys is the answer?

Speaker 8 (33:57):
I think we have NFL kickers on our team, so yeah,
that's what we're getting ready for.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Dude, what do you think about that? Does that?

Speaker 4 (34:04):
I don't think he fully trusts these guys yet, and
I think they're going to scour the market at some
point and try. He may end up being one of
these guys, but I think that there might be competition
that comes in. When I asked Dan last week, he
said that they're going to look to see how they
do when the scrimmages and the games. It wasn't like
they feel confident that one of these guys will win

(34:26):
the job. They said they're still evaluating based off what's
coming up next.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
He would not commit. He would not you know what
I mean.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
He wouldn't say absolutely, and I feel like in a
lot of position battles, you.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Can say absolutely one of these guys is starting. I don't.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, both Dan Morgan and Izick would not really phrase
it that way, And I have to be honest with you,
based on the way camp's gone, I'm not sure they
should phrase it that way. I think Wright's definitely been better.
But Matthew Wright's career, the five what is it, six
teams in the last five years, the fact that he
hasn't been able to hold a steady kicking job is
the thing that worries you about him. For Fitzgerald, Bonus,

(35:05):
just man, he has not had a great camp in preseason. No,
you know, so, yeah, that's kind of how I feel
is I feel like there is a legit chance that
the kicker is not on our roster right now.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
They'll probably evaluate when when cuts are made. Other kicker
battles going on, I'm sure they might be eyeing somebody
up already, but we'll we'll see. But I think that
one of the biggest questions entering this phase of the
of the preseason is the kicker situation, because you you'd
hate to improve everywhere else to get things better and
starting to be competitive, and then a kicker costs the

(35:40):
identical time.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
I got kicker paranoia.

Speaker 6 (35:42):
Man.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
You know games are close in the NFL. You know
we're going to be in a ton of close games.
Last year we couldn't win them, But it wasn't necessarily
because of the kicker. I just I got kicker paranoia.
Right now, man, all right, let's move along. And this
is what we call coach speak. The coordinators did their
first press conferences of camp. We gonna let you hear
what some of these guys are saying. A zero a
Vero's scheme, my goodness, bone. If you search that on

(36:06):
the text line, you will get thousands of results about
a zero Averro's scheme being sent in by fans that
basically think it's garbage. He said something interesting yesterday, and
it makes complete sense as a coach. He says, the
scheme will be a bit different every year. It'll be
tweaked based on that year's talent that we have.

Speaker 6 (36:26):
Yeah, you know, I'd love to believe. You know, I've
been so blessed. I've been around so many good coaches,
great coaches, you know, Dom Caper's, Vic Fangio, Eric Mangini,
on and on, so many Waite Phillips, so many outstanding coordinators,
and the one thing that I learned from all of
them is that, like you know, your scheme has got
to be dictated by your players, and so like we

(36:47):
every year, you know, it's it's you know, obviously, there's
a foundation of what we want to be and what
we want to become. But like you know, you always
have to start from the drawing board in terms of like, Okay,
these are the guys we have, this is what they
do well. How do we put them in position and
to do their best things the best So that's what
we try to do.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
And I'm sure bone that will not result in any
text right now, not a shiro Vera scheme, but listen
that I'm a let me make a Coach K reference here.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Coach K.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
One of the things I loved about Coach K is
he would play the team would play differently based on
his personnel for that season. He wasn't stuck in his ways.
I'm not trying to bash Roy, but Roy was more
of a system guy, right, But Coach K looks at
what he would look at what he has and sometimes
it work out better than others, and he would try
to cater it to his team. I think that's good coaching.
So it's not that there's some rigid scheme, right. It's

(37:35):
Vic Fangio is, you know, kind of the godfather of
this scheme. But Philly's scheme is slightly different than what
Caroline is I know the results were, but you know
what I mean, Like, it's like there will be there
will be differences within the same kind of general scheme.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Those schemes work for both guys. To what you're saying, right,
Coach k scheme worked and Roy loved the two bigs
that he would play and that worked to him to
win national titles as well. So whatever works for and
coach that that can. You know, the great ones all
have different ways about doing it, and this may couse
a few texts. I still believe in Avero. I don't
think he forgot how to coach. I don't think the

(38:10):
guy went from a viable head coaching candidate a guy
we were excited when he came back after year one.
I think the guy can still coach. I think the
roster and the injuries and attrition to the team was
a major part of that. I still think if they
stay healthy and the players are playing up to their level,
I think Alvero can turn back the other way this year.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
I still believe in that guy.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
Fully, it's about the horses, man, It's about that Jimmy's
and the Joe's to go.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Damn Frank Garcia on you all right? Y'all.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
As ziro Vera had the eighth best defense in Denver.
The first year in Carolina, they were fourth in total defense.
I'm not saying they're the fourth best defense, but they
were more than respectable when that offensive unit was a
complete dumpster fire and gave them no assistance whatsoever. The
man can coach football, all right. You don't have many teams.
You know how quickly he would have a job if
we did fire him last offseason. So listen, does everything do?

(39:02):
I agree with everything he does?

Speaker 5 (39:03):
Know.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
I'd like to see Horn travel more.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
But there's a reason he knows fifty gazillion times more
about defense than we do. There's a reason why he
hasn't done it. And yesterday was actually asked about that
and it was noncommittal.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
All right, let's move along here because I want to
get Idzick involved as well as we now have ensured
bone that we have forty a varo texts to answer
in the next.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Break, Brad. They don't have a PhD like I do, though,
so I win.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
When the GM himself says I haven't done a good
enough job of getting this coach players, I believe that's
your answer to the question. All right, Next up brad
Izac talking about Hunter Renfro and his route running. I
can listen to to this subject for days.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
The man is an artist at work bone running a.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Route he just gets open.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
He just knows how to get open.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
We're I was even laughing with aut him about it.
After practice there's a little corner rowdy, He just you
might have bad leverage. He knows how to steal leverage.
He's got freaky lateral quickness. And then when when he
opens up, he's like big strides, like a powerful first
four steps, which simulates I'm going full tilt vertical. And

(40:13):
that's I think he said it in a presser the
other week, right, like everything stems off the vertical. Everything
stems off the vertical. Well, how many vertical like it?
Has he run true goal balls outside? That's not really
his craft, right, but he simulates that every single time,
and then he eats up whatever leverage you give him
and he just does a phenomenal job of it. And

(40:34):
then keeping him similar to what we were talking about
with t Mac in a wheelhouse of timing that works
for the quarterback. That's the that's the key. So just
making sure that those two are on the same page.
Sometimes that is, hey, you got to work this one
on the side. Make sure that you know, you know
when Bryce is trying to get rid of the ball,
and how much time you have to work, because if
you give him five seconds, he'll get open versus anyone.

(40:55):
But we don't have five seconds, so it's it's keeping
that in a nice box for us.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
We have two point seven seconds. All right.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
We know that coach Canal we Coach Canal has told
us that do you think Hunter Renfro is a lock
for the roster?

Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (41:08):
I do, yep, I still have this fear that David
Moore makes it. They keep six, they keep Jimmy Horn
and that Renfro Like, should I give this fear up?

Speaker 1 (41:19):
You think? Well, who did? Who did?

Speaker 4 (41:21):
Canalics compare more? Uh to David Moore the other day
in Oppressor? Do we have the audio that as well?
Or is that no wet you're giving me? I'm sorry,
I'm a Timey's telling me a thumbs up like good point,
but nothing to do with me. Fitty is like missus
Mac right now, he's telling me to shut that hell
up sit in his car like little Mac. He compared

(41:43):
Jimmy Horn to a young David Moore, which infuriated Panther
fans that just many, many just want him to move
on with his career.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
Canalis loves him though, that's my thing. Canalis loves him.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
He brings it has brought him to two places outside
after he left Seattle.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
All right, Next up, bone Man, we we'll talk about
that thing more. What a been in that? We come back.
