Speaker 1 (00:19):
Yeah, combination of both things, right, trying to see how
they play the different runs and why are they having success,
you know, and for me looking at the film, it
they have some really good players up front, and it's effort.
You know, these guys play hard and they're very active.
They're they're very active with their hands, getting off of blocks,
trying to help, you know, even though their gaps sound

(00:40):
and all those things. Sometimes the guys up front, you know,
they they Milton Williams for example, you know, just being
able to shed a block and show up to help.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
You know.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
So this this group is really playing well together.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
You know.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
I think outside of a couple of big plays, you know,
in the couple of losses that they have, they're playing
really sound, fundamental football. And so it's a great challenge.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Sports right seven WFNZ. That's coach Canallet's talking about the
Patriots defense they have. They've been good upfront stuff in
the run at a very high rates, second in the
league in run defense. They've been getting after the quarterback
a little bit. A man named Harold Landry has been

(01:20):
has been getting after the quarterback. I said, Harold Howard.
Milton Williams also a guy we know a little something
about here in Carolina because it seems like they wanted
him pretty badly. Bone in free agency. Uh, those are
the guys who are gonna have to deal with. And
if Milty gets matched up on Chandlers Evalla, it's it's
gonna be a big task for the young fella. There's

(01:41):
no doubt about it.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
All right. We have made it, Bone, we have made it.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Ride a couple about seven minutes away from starting, by
the way, can't wait for that, Bone, What did you
say that the crowd was doing Usa Chance in the
dark at four am? And bet Page Black, Yeah, they were.
They've been out there for three hours already. I mean
they're gonna be sat by the time they get the breakfast.
I love, man, And that's why it's so hard to
win the Ryder Cup on the road. I know Europe's
been a bit better than us at doing it, but

(02:07):
that's why, Man, these golfers hat used to this madness.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
All right.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
So as far as the Panthers go, I just want
to say this because the battle for me today, Bone
is and I think for you too, is to panther
up or not panther up, and we'll make our picks
and we'll talk about, you know, whether or not everybody's
panthering up in the eight o'clock hour. Last week, you
and I both picked the falcons. I truly, I mean
I feel like a fool for how scared. I was

(02:32):
a damn sorry he hass dirty birds, but I was.
And we picked the falcons and they won, and Fitty
picked the panthers. So here this week we've also we
had our jackets on our good luck panther blazers and
we won. Fiddy had on his good luck panther bikini
top and we won. By the way, bone, how long

(02:53):
did it take me to get that bikini top on?

Speaker 5 (02:54):
I think Fitty.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
I think Fitty got bustier while he was away for
a three day vacation. It was was right before I
was doing a New York butcher Shop read, and it
was about a minute before I started, and then I
had to stop because you had to go play the
music for that, and then he came back to you.
It was about in total, about three and a half minutes,
and you were starting to you were starting to struggle.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Almost gave up fit, Daddy. What happened to you while
you were gone?

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Man?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
I went to every fast food restaurant in Monroe.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Oh God, but we got it. We got it on there, baby.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
So anyway, like we're we're trying to recreate all the
things we did last week for good Panther juju. So
does that mean we have to pick against the Panthers?
I mean, I hate picking against the Panthers. I feel
like such a stick in the mud, you know, like fan,
but but I'm also superstitious, and I'm also I also
at this point believe I somehow affect games.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
I'm only Michael Scott. I like that one.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
My whole thing with that is, I I'm kind of
worried about the game in a natural sense. I'm not
I'm not making a pick right now, but I kind
of feel like this is one of those toss up
games where you can sell me on a win, you
can sell me on a wall, that's all. I don't
think it wouldn't be unnatural for me. I'm not going
away against how I feel if I put the Patriots
today at this moment, I here's I don't want to

(04:16):
do it, but I feel like I'm being real about it.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
When you talk about like we're gonna talk about things
we feel good about in this matchup and things that
were you in this matchup, And before we even talk
about the Patriots, you know what worries me is the Panthers,
Like this is the type of game where over the
last seven eight years a temper era like this is
the type of game. Unfortunately, I feel like we lose,

(04:39):
like they got us feeling so good after last week,
and what would the Panthers in this era usually do?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Bone down let us down the next week?

Speaker 4 (04:47):
So I do have the fear of that, like could
the turnovers come back? I do have this fear and
this paranoia that that that could happen.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
So that's part of this.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
I mentioned yesterday last year but lost the first two
and even worse fashion than our first two this year,
way worse fashion. Then Bryce got bench. We won the
game right against the Raiders with Dalton, but then we
lost our next five. So it's like, man, we need
to prevent anything like that from happening. I want to
stay in the mix, right or even if they were

(05:18):
to lose this game, then you've got to come back
and get Miami next week.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
It's like you can't like, don't get.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Buried like they were last year, Bone, when we looked
up and they're like one in seven or something like that.
You know what about the So let's let's start positively here,
even though people are.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Saying they don't want us going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Near picking the Panthers this week, especially me, what what
do you look at in this matchup? Bone and say,
you know, I think that I think that that's a.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Good matchup for us. I think this guy could have
a good game. Like what do you what do you
feel good about Sunday? I can't believe I'm saying this
because of the way things went last year. I love
the Panthers run defense versus their run offense. Right now,
their offensive line is struggling. Mag I have a question
for you, and I don't know if you have the
answer or not. What's happened to Trevon Henderson, their rookie

(06:07):
out of Ohio State. It will start for him. He
was a monster in the preseason. We're like, Wow, this
guy might be like a Rookie of the Year type guy.
On the season, he has nineteen carries for sixty five yards,
no touchdowns. What in the world has happened to him?
I'm not watching every game, every play. I don't know
what's going on there, but I think this the way
that the run defense is playing now versus their line,

(06:27):
versus their run game, that's got to be in the
check one off for the Panthers. And if you're doing
the good bad category, I'll put that in the good
category for the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Yeah, their running game is just kind of so so,
and I think I think the Panthers have a chance. Listen,
Bijon got five plus yards of carry, but they didn't
allow the big ones Arizona Bone three point seven yards
of carry, Jacksonville in the second half three point four
yards of carry. I'm not I'm really not that worried

(06:59):
and I'm grittis. I'm not very worried about the offense
of New England. I think like Drake may scares me
a little bit. He's a he's a young talent, but
he's been throwing the ball short. So if we just
tackle on the short passes, they're just his weaponry. I mean,
I guess Hunter Henry is a concern Bony. He's the
hell of a tight end. He might be the biggest.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
I know Diggs is there, but the wideouts haven't really
been getting getting going that much against the Pants in
Booty are their two best wideouts. Collins starts for them
as the other wide out, Hunter Henry to me, might
be the one you worry about the most of the
entire offense.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
I guess. But is Hunter Henry gonna single handedly beat
us in a game? You know?

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Like?

Speaker 5 (07:38):
Is he gonna put him more forty ors?

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Like?

Speaker 5 (07:40):
That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
By the way, the Panthers coverage and I feel good
about our secondary are corners against those wide receivers.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I feel very good about that matchup. Bone.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
We give up the fewest yards per game to wide
receivers in the NFL, and it's shoggy and it shows
right based on the way the guys have played, and
this is not a scary group.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
If Drake London, Bone could be put in the car
seat by j C.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Horn. More on that later. By the way, more on
that later.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
J C.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Horn has talked about that.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
But I'm definitely not gonna worry about these wide receivers.
Run defense I think can do their job. And it's
not just the running backs. They're run blocking is thirty
first in run blocking grade Bone in the league. On PFF,
they have not like I gave you the stat the
other day that Stevenson averages four yards of carry but

(08:30):
three point nine after contact.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Dude is getting hit point one.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yard yards down the field on average horrible blocking.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
I think you brought up an excellent point when the
segment started, when you go through their roster top to bottom. Yes,
they have Milton Williams, Christian Gonzalez is back. They have
some names on defense that are good. Harold Howard Landry's
in there. They do have some names. Carlton Davis is
a big money guy for them. They do have some
names on defense, but I don't really there's not a
lot with this team on paperback that terrifies you at all,

(09:01):
especially offensively. Yeah, there's not a lot of why the
Panthers may have a deeper roster actually of guys that
are are better than some of these Patriots.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I'm just starting to talk myself into picking the Panthers.
Like I came into this show with an open mind.
I'm macki pompap like kind of like fearing that this
is a spot that Panthers would let us down, but
also acknowledging this game is definitely winnable, right, especially if
we defended like last week, especially if we win the
turnover battle and New England turned it over five times
last week. Bone Stevenson fumbled twice, once at the goal line,

(09:34):
Antonio Gibson fumble once. Can we force some turnovers and
Panthers been pretty good. We're fourth in the league at
forc some turnovers after the three we forced last week.
I do worry a little bit about the run game
matchup for us. We have not been at our best.
We had our best week running the ball last week,
and it's no coincidence, Bone that was the week where
we didn't fall behind because the run game is based
right on consistency, rhythm and I keep pounding it at you,

(09:57):
but they're second in the league in run deep.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
They've been really good in run defense.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
But even if they stuff the run bone, their pass
defense has been so brutal that I feel like this
could be a good day for Bryce, although we still don't.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
Know which pass catchers are going to play. I guess
you know the Panthers in this game. You're right, they
beat themselves. That might be the way they lose it.
They can't turn it over and give this offense, you
know short field. Do the Panthers don't turn it over
and they don't beat themselves in this game. You're right,
I worry more about the Panthers having a let down

(10:30):
than I worry about the Patriots being some great football team.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Yeah, that's the thing. And that's a fair question. Are
you more worried about the Patriots or our own team?
Are you more worried that Panthers ish could end up
happening out there?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Protecting the ball is real important, but I guess Bone,
if you can't run it against their good run defense,
and then you're in second and long, and then you're
in third and long, those are the type of plays
where the turnovers happen. Four of Bryce's five turnovers are
on third down. Yeah right, that's when teams can dial
up the blitzes and stuff like that. And weren't a
predictable passing situation. So there is a little bit of

(11:06):
a worry. It's like, could the turnovers come because we
don't run the football against the good run defense. Christian
Gonzales is back to so you would expect that to
improve their pass defense. And uh, I also think Bony
can the other wide receivers win the non Christian Gonzales
Corners really struggled right when he was out. But our

(11:30):
wide receivers other than t Mac Bone, they really struggle.
Like we're on here every Friday begging people other than
t Mac to make plays.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
And now Sanders is out. Le get it, you know,
sounds like very well could be out again. Can we
get something from renfro More, Tremaine Tremble, these other guys
use Rico as a pass catcher more like somebody's got
to do something other than Bone Temac has thirty six
percent of our receiving yards or a guy that's just

(11:57):
getting started in this league. Yeah, what's the over under
in this game? Mag? I need to I need to
check it out. That's a good question. Is the spread
still five and a half? New England by five? And
I'm double checking that. This feels like a game that
I don't think there might not be a tonal points
in this game because I don't know the wideouts on
both sides. There's not exactly a lot of frisbee catching dogs,

(12:17):
as pack man needs to say.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
No, No, definitely definitely not so you think lower score? Yeah,
I could see it.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
I guess, just being kind of that kind of an
ugly woll score game.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Definitely.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
I think that's kind of the way the Patriots are
very able want to play anyway. Some dudes telling us
Drake May is going to light the Panthers up. Is
that one of his brothers seven and four? Which May
brother is seven oh four number? Disrespectful as hell to
not talk about that kid, the Charlotte kid, Drake May.
This dude is going to light the Panthers up. Why
can't you see it coming? Is it possible? Now?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
I'm not saying Drake May is the same as Pennix Bone.
He's got there. Both second year qbs, but May started more.
May's got more experience. I think May's a better quarterback
right now. I don't think there's any doubt about that Bone.
He's got one hundred and one quarterback rating puts him
in the top ten in the league.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
But is it possible?

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Because I think I know Pennix was bad, but I
think he was clearly confused by what Avero was doing.
I think the Blitzes early bothered him. I think then
Avero backed off, Blitzes showed, blitz backed off, did a
lot of soft stuff in zones, and I just think
Pennix was just off balance Bone and didn't know what
he was gonna get. Is it possible that we can

(13:28):
do that to another second year.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
Quarterback, especially when there's no trust in his offensive line
either for them right now their offensive line is horrible.
And if he gets rattled early, how does that affect
his confidence in this football?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
He's been sacked twelve times, second most in the NFL.
But like, here's the thing, though, we don't have Patch,
if we don't have Pat Jones and wantam like as
good as we were defensively Bone, we didn't even have
a sack last week, So like, can.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
We go Ham?

Speaker 6 (13:55):
Can our rush pass rushers go Ham on this O
line like they should?

Speaker 5 (14:00):
It's no, I still don't know.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
Panthers are still five and a half point underdogs and
the over under is forty two and a half.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
That's a rather well one for you.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Yeah, so they're thinking Vegas is thinking what you're thinking.
Panthers are really attempting tease. Hey they are, and I'm not.

Speaker 6 (14:18):
Gonna be a lot of points if you got them
about eleven and a half. Yeah, but you're gonna win
that one.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
If you tease that line up took your six points,
took it up to eleven and a half.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Definitely, Salesman.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
The consensus on the text line Bone is not near
as much about the game as it is about not
wanting me to pick the Panthers. Salesman says, I'm a
twenty year loyal listener. I'm begging you not to touch
the Panthers' money this week. Please pick the Pats.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Mac.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
If you pick the Panthers, you will ruin my weekend.
Please don't ruin my weekend. So there you go. That
seems to be the biggest concerns. The thing is, though,
panthering up is fun, Like I am a homer, I
am such a fan, Like I don't want like I
want to come on the air. Like that's why twenty
fifteen was so much fun. Like I came on the

(15:07):
Airbone and it reached a point in the season where
everybody realized, oh, the Mac curse really doesn't apply to
this team at least still super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
Like you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
And I just picked them, and I knew we were
gonna win every damn week and that just felt so fun.
Like it's not fun to me to come on the
air and be the guy that's like, oh, the Panthers
are gonna lose.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Like, I don't like that. I like coming on raw rah.
So that's the problem. Ra what's it called ra? Ra
shits rah rah sh Kebob. What's the ald saying there?

Speaker 5 (15:35):
What is it? Ciscumbbob?

Speaker 6 (15:37):
Is that what is? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (15:38):
Okay, I think that's what I had meets on the mine.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
So anyway, Plus, I am also starting, as I talked
through these matchups, to feel more positive. So I know
that's not what you want to hear this morning, but
I'm starting to.

Speaker 6 (15:51):
Yeah, I was kind of concerned about the game when
this tegment started. Now I feel like we have blowed
them out by the way bone before too long, I
would say, in the next twenty minutes, we have to
tell the story that we haven't told yet. And I
don't even know if Fiddy knows this about Fitty's victory
dance and what Twitter did to Fitty's victory dance or
to our victory dance because of Fiddy. We got to

(16:12):
talk about that before too long. It's hilarious, man, It's
it's in a word, troubling. When we come back, we're strowing.
Paramount sports dot Com gives you his selection for this
week's games on Sports Radio ninety two seven hosted USA.
I got caught watching the Ryder come back while I'm
doing the red here. Sports Radio ninety seven WFNZ, Go USA.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
All that went well, Sports Radio nine wfn Z.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Shout out to JT and Bryson Birdie on the first hold.

Speaker 6 (16:59):
J he hit the approach. Brison knocked the putt down.
Bony and the US has a lead in the Ryder Cup.
I'm not sure we let it all last year. We
have a lead in the Ryder Cup.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
In the first match up a hole as they go
to the second hole, and then the second group starts.

Speaker 6 (17:17):
Scottie Scheffler, Russell Henley on the second group for the US.
We'll keep you up to date on the Ryder Cup.
Bryson was feeling now and I walked out right in there.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
He did.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
Man, he walk it out, So shambleach to walk it out,
walk it.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
Out, my jam. What's that an old old song? Oh?
My uncle? Did I know that one? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:36):
I should walk went out walking. Yeah, I was back
in my back in my young high school. I wasn't
high school. You're not singing it right?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Was I?

Speaker 6 (17:43):
In two thousand and six, I was twenty, I was
twenty two. Yeah, oh you were in your prime. Baby
young Bone was just a terror, a terror back then.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
I was a gentleman in the streets and they on
the streets. I'll just a flat out gentleman. Steve even
an album.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Marl says, Bryce Young is one in fourteen on the road,
and you're not even talking about that. There is that,
there is that thing, and he has definitely played better
at home. But I also like to point out to
all the Bryce haters, it's not a one on one competition.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
This is not tennis, right.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
The Panthers are one in fourteen in games Bryce Young
starts because I Bryce Youngbone did not do much of
anything last week, didn't have to one hundred and twenty
one yards, but the Panthers and Bryce Young won. So
I just again, QB Wins is not a stat man,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (18:35):
It's not.

Speaker 6 (18:35):
But with that said, the team being that bad on
the road, it would be a reason to go against
the Panthers this week, which what it seems like you
guys want me to do. Question about the game on Sunday, Mac,
who's the least throwing picking? Because I don't see least
starring on our phone line.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
Rue.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
He nailed it last I don't know where he is
right now. I definitely can't help you with that. But
he nailed it. Last week. We were being all negative
and questioning, you know, our ability against the Falcons and
Lee came on and he has what a wrong team
favored Panthers went out right and he called it.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
But that does that only does us so much good? Now, boy,
know where he is, Joseph and rock Hill on the text,
So i'd calm yourself down, all right, settle down there.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
It's not nice. What's he saying. I'll get that taxi?
Just sitting there, Damn.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
Gentleman in the streets and alone in the sheets. Okay, damn,
that's called Joe for I was vulnerable there. That is
definitely funny. Do you think Lee's sitting there bone on
his couch in his like tidy whiteyes, and he's just
watching this ryder cup and he forgot about us or something.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
He guess what's going on? Massively? Who's not watching this
this morning?

Speaker 4 (19:38):
And and the phone, the fact you can now watch
on your phone. It's perfect for events like this when
you're acting like you're working today.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
God, seriously, and there was a guy normally root for it.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
I don't want to see you cheering from the time.
He's enemy this week, I'll do port your ass out
of the country. That's my job.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
I should not even talk about that right now, all right, anyway,
so hopefully we'll get least.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
He's just going to voicemail. What's happening back there? Yeah,
I got three voicemails and I'm now texted the leaster. Okay,
hopefully we'll hopefully we'll figure it out, we'll get Lee.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Hopefully everything's all right, you said he just tweeted out though, right, Yeah,
he was coming on. Okay, hopefully everything's all right. I
guess this does give us time to tell the story.
And I had no knowledge of this.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
And I'm listening sitting in the car pickup line to
pick up my daughter where I do my Wes and
Walker listening in the two o'clock hour and the other day,
and Walkers is talking about how he and Olivia Uh,
his girlfriend, were watching the victory dance, and Olivia pointed

(20:44):
out to him when she clicked on it on Twitter,
the video of our victory dance on Twitter, that a
message comes up saying that this is adult content and
you have to click basically to say yes, I am
willing to watch this adult And it's all because Fitty

(21:05):
was in nothing well nothing but but Fiddy had a
bikini top on it and nothing underneath it. You can
add that when you post on there, like I did
not add that, though funny if that guy added I
don't know if someone flagged it they thought it was
I don't know what occurred, but that's the first time
we've gotten censored there by that one. You think that

(21:25):
you think that max hip thrusting would have eventually got
a center, but no, it was Fiddy's body.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
A guy dancing in a bikini top fit gets flagged
or do you think it's because it was you with
your particular frame?

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Are you what do you think about this fit? Are
you are you honored? Are you upset? How do you
feel about this?

Speaker 2 (21:49):
I'd like to take this time, Mack to think all
the male adult performers that came before me and that
will come after me, for paving the way for me
to reach my dreams and become an adult entertaining. This
is something I've aspired to me of the time I
was twelve years old, and it took me to the
Year of Our Lord twenty twenty five to achieve that dream.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
But Mama, I made it. This is Lee Sterling's fall
at the moment. Here for what's occurring.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
Yeah, we're sorry for the visual infitting and a panther
bikini top dancing right now if you already head it
out of your head and now it's back in your head.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
But we are vampid because Lee Sterling's not here. I
don't know.

Speaker 6 (22:21):
Maybe we should, maybe we should go ahead and do
the stuff.

Speaker 5 (22:23):
We're gonna do.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
At seven forty five, manus, I've also reached out to
the lead to see where he is. Okay, hopefully we'll
be able to get him on at some point, but
let's just adjust. By the way Bryson on the second
hole put his approach shot about I don't know, twelve
feet away. Rom's hit a pretty good one too. Here
it looks like as well, mag up pretty good one too.
During the break when you were watching, you got way
up on that TV. Are you are you watching that

(22:45):
close at home?

Speaker 5 (22:46):
I was trying to read. I can't. I can't read
the scores. My eyes, you know, my eyes aren't good
like you're all up in that, right. It don't make
fun of me, maggat old eyes.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
All right, let's do this, man, Let's let's just do
what we're gonna do at seven forty five and then
hopefully maybe we can get leave then or at some
point in the future. We've got some audio, some Panthers
audio that is just so damn interesting. Let's start with
Zach Robinson. Zach Robinson, you just he's the old coordinator
for the Falcons. If you don't know, you just got

(23:15):
your highknee shut out by the Panthers defense. I feel
like you should not be taking shots at anything to
do with the Panthers, even if it's the fans and
the atmosphere Bank of America Stadium. Listen to this cat
Bony in his presser yesterday. He is explaining what went
wrong and why they were so off. Listen to what

(23:36):
he throws in there.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Obviously, you know, incredibly humbling, you know, day out there.
I don't think any of us have ever really been
a part of something like that. But again, it was
just it was just a really off day. You know,
thought the energy you know, at practice all last week
was great. I thought the energy in pregame warmups was good.
I mean, guys were pumped up. That is a sleepy
place as you guys know to play, but didn't feel

(24:00):
anyway pregame and just when the ball was snapped obviously
the first snap of the game, you know, we're thrown
off Kyle, and it was just kind of like from there, it.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
Just you know, it just didn't go our way. So
sleepy place to play, scotfaway fitty. Do you know what else?

Speaker 6 (24:15):
Was a sleepy place back when Bryce Torchu in Atlanta
when you know it's it's not exactly a rollicking venue
down there in the atl.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Listen, your place is so sleepy you had to pump
in fake crowd noise and got busted. There you go,
you got to make fake fans. Seriously, get the heck
out of here. How on earth are you telling us
what went wrong in that game? And you got the
audacity to bring up the crowd. And by the way,
there are plenty of times it is sleepy over there.
Last week wasn't won off them? Yeah, that crowd was
loud throughout the damn game. So I like you want

(24:46):
to see sleepy, We're van Winkle. You know, usually hangs
out over there on Sundays, but not this Sunday. His
quarterback was asleep. Oh my serious league. Yeah, this defense,
Puddy is. But to sleep like it just is that
not fitty? Does that not come across? And I know
it wasn't like he he kind of just subtly dropped
it in. But you can't mention that when your team
was that bad.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
He's putting it in there as like an excuse like sorry,
we didn't wake your guys up.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
I mean, what the hell?

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Typical Falcons loser ass behavior. Mac, that's what it reeks of.
You want to blame the environment as to why your team,
after you drove down the field and miss the field
goal from there on was pretty much uncompetitive. You want
to blame the environment, and Mac, I can attest to you.
You were at the game in the press box. I
was there in section two thirty three. I've been there
when it's quiet. It was not quiet on Sunday. That

(25:37):
place was so dagum loud and the key pounding chants
were echoing. As we exited the stadium. I nearly cried
because it felt good for one Sunday to be a
Panther fan again.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
What was Cormack Ryan at the game.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Why you almost see we're having a moment and you
get to ring up Cormack Ryan.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
So it was in that stadium.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
Also, I love it. I love it that Fitty feels
at home in the Panther family. I do love that
Fitty Fitty said, we're trying to do everything we did
a week ago. Are you and Flounder going to the
game this weekend? I can say we're not making the
trip to New England. If someone was to sponsor the trip,
I'll get the plate ticket you by, I'll make it.
I at sending Flounder. He was in here in a
Drake made Patriots Jersey yesterday. Man, seriously, oh did he

(26:17):
really the treason? The treason that was committed and you
and you bought.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
That man breakfast? I know that's a good point. I
got it.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
Well, was I thinking? All right, So let's move to
more audio. That's interesting. That's interesting in a way that
it just it's just triggering. And by the way, Robinson,
you were so sorry that coach Raheem, Daddy Raheem pulled
you down to the sidelines now so he can so
he can monitor your bad coaching like that that's how.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
Bad you wasn't the seamy crowded didn't watch a path
of thirty?

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Seriously, that's true. That's true, all right, So anyway, let's
move on. This is just interesting, y'all, And I want
to know what y'all think about this. Excel met with
the media yesterday and again full accountability. He could hide
from the media, he could not talk, you know, if
he wanted to. He was out there and he was
standing up guy for second straight week. Y'all might have
to turn the radio volume up on this one a
little bit because there's crowd. There's not crowd noise. There's

(27:07):
noise in the locker room in the background. But just
what do y'all think? And Boone, what do you think
when you hear Excel answering questions about his injured hamstring?

Speaker 5 (27:15):
Didn't practice yesterday? Yeah, I'm making probably this day by day.
I know they taking it a little slower than me.
So everything that I'm doing right now, if my hemster,
you feel pretty good?

Speaker 6 (27:26):
Is this a situation where if this were say a
playoff game or something, you might push through it or
is you having trouble pushing off of it or.

Speaker 7 (27:37):
Knowing whatever they need me to do.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
Man, what's the feeling like, cat? How does it feel
different than usually? I'm pretty solid right now. Coach told
us how you were begging him last week to let
you play. How tough has it been to have to
sort of sit back and watch you?

Speaker 7 (27:54):
You know, I want to be in a game.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
I mean, I want to do so much of what
they want me to do.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
So how is this the case where you want to
play and they're saying no, you're not ready to Oh no, no.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
It ain't nothing late.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
And if you feel like this, you're gonna be sitting
out another week. That's what you mean. It's just the
coaches too, whatever they want me to do. What do
you want to do right? If I if I can,
if I'm able to this up? Would you say though
right now physically your handstring is not ready to play

(28:31):
in a game. I wouldn't say that.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Oh I maybe have to be a little limited or
something like that, or maybe I could play.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
This is a day to day, said Joyce. What do
you think your time as you know the.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Coach's email, I'm ready to go away into yat coaches
or trains both.

Speaker 6 (28:53):
What do you think about that. First of all, that
is not the Excel that we're used to. That is
a really downtrodden lack of energy exceled that I don't
I don't think we've heard him. Even if there's a
mistake in a game, he usually has a very upbeat
energy about him. So it does make you wonder if
this is there's a lot more going on behind the
scenes than just the injury. Maybe this is a little

(29:15):
bit of rehabilitation of his mind going on here as
much as an injury happening.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Yeah, I listened to that. That sounds like normal Excel
there at all.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
First of all, Yeah, he does sound sad as hell,
and I feel bad for him, but it's a performance
based business, right Like he's got to perform when he
plays again. But I think he's a genuine dude, and
I do feel bad that he's going through it. But yeah,
it really sounds like and I don't know if he
wanted Somebody says he spilled the beans there. It sounds
like I don't know if he was trying to spill
the beans or if he just kind of said too much.

Speaker 5 (29:46):
But but yeah, makes it sound like.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
I could probably play, at least in a limited fashion,
or maybe I wouldn't even be limited, wouldn't say that
I'm too hurt to play?

Speaker 5 (29:57):
How do you feel?

Speaker 4 (29:57):
I feel solid? And how many times did he say
coach's decision. It's so whatever the coaches want to do,
and it really does. And last week people had the
conspiracy theory, right, a lot of fans, Oh, they're doing
what we think they did with Bryce in his rookie
year that third game. They said, you know he was hurt,
but you know, we don't know if he was really
hurt or whatever. It does sound like the way you

(30:19):
put it, like a mental rest or whatever. Is that
part of it, Like there's probably an injury there, but
the Panthers taking it as an opportunity man to get
this dude to just kind of chill a little bit.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
But is he frustrated with that? Does he want back
out there? Because the injury just happened in practice? Right?
It was one of those ones where it's, oh, actually
did something in practice and he's hurt. It wasn't like
in a game when it came out where we saw it.
We don't we have no idea what exactly are they
just using this as a as a break to try
to get him right.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
At least he didn't say there was never any injury.
I don't know why I'm not playing. I don't know
why they told me my hamstring hurts. So that is
a fascinating situation. And I said it after two weeks,
I'm like, you know, a benching. I said, they did
it with Bryce. If they want to sit him down,
let him reset, or just lower his snaps, it would
make sense to me, it would.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
So I don't know.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
I don't know what's going on. People are mad at
the reporters. They said there were too many questions. You
got dizzy after twenty one straight questions. Well, they could tell.
They could tell something's going on. They to, you know,
the answers at them.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
They could tell something's going on here, what's happening. We've
got to play this JAC horn? You have this JC
horn fit. Let's get that clip because we loved it Bone.
We loved the audio of his on the Panthers rewind feature,
which is like miked up behind you know, a footage
from each game. And I guess they had t Mac

(31:39):
miked up. Sounds like it although you can hear, you know,
I guess Tack was there on the Pep Talk because
you can hear j C. Horn lows day on the
Pep Talk and then you heard j C. Horn stay
to t Mac, I got five in a car seat,
meaning I got I got him locked down a little
baby car s talking about Rank London. And I guessed

(32:02):
Horn when he did his presser yesterday said what you're
getting ready to hear he I guess he didn't like
having it out there, Bony, which is interesting because the
team put it out there.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
Base.

Speaker 6 (32:13):
We're just stalling for Fitty right now to be able
to find this gun that he's trying to find this
cut in the lee. You want to know what's interesting,
That's why guys off the bag. You'll see they'll say
there's a signal for each other. On all sports when
they're micd up, they always have like they'll pat their
chest or they'll nod, or.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
They'll just say they'll do something. They say, I'm the cops,
I'm the Feds. I've heard him say that before or whatever.
So yeah, because they don't want they don't want guys
to say anything that.

Speaker 6 (32:38):
They don't want out out there. So anyway, listen, listen
to JC.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Here they see there was a clip from Sunday's game
that kind of gotten creshed on social media, you saying
that you had five in a car seat. I'm wondering
you started with the with the seafield as the car seat,
like as their.

Speaker 7 (32:51):
Level suit or is that just kind of a thing
in the moment that kind of came out there. Yeah,
they were not supposed to get out, o they under
the pregame speakers. But yeah, just he in the moment
talking talking to my teammates. Nothing against Fading now. I
think he a good player too. We had battles over
the last couple of years. You know, I can't wait

(33:12):
to see him.

Speaker 5 (33:12):
Why don't you like that stuff getting out? I just
say that type of guy.

Speaker 7 (33:17):
I don't want people thinking I'd do it for the
clicks for a social media and so I would kind
of say when he got out.

Speaker 6 (33:23):
But it is what it is interesting. But you are
that type of guy. You are a trash talker, right.
Isn't he a trash team? He isn't he a corner
with attitude? I mean he lives in Atlanta. I don't
know if he was concerned. I don't know what the
real is. He friends with Drake London you know what's
the relationship there. I don't know why he would not
be I wasn't. He didn't say anything that that was
that insane, Like I want him he was being himself.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
He didn't. He didn't. I don't think he.

Speaker 6 (33:47):
I don't think he said anything where it's like, oh
my god, did you hear what he said about Dragon
Lund and' that just he's got his seatbelt. I want
my corner to have an attitude and J C. Horn
I thought had an attitude.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
Yeah, we like this. The guy yelled at Jehan Peyton
last year, right.

Speaker 6 (34:00):
Yeah, like didn't apologize for that one, So I don't.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
I don't want him caring if Drake London knows that
you said you got him in a damn Carci, which
is a great line too, by the way, but that
is I don't know that is upsetting. But he's telling
you how he really feels about it, and he can
take it up bone with the Panthers social media staff.
Maybe it was t Mac being miked up and not

(34:23):
telling him, Hey, I was miked up or whatever. Did
he also say he didn't like the speech get now too?

Speaker 5 (34:28):
Yes? Both?

Speaker 6 (34:28):
Yeah, why wouldn't you want the pep talk. That was amazing.
Fans love hearing that kind of stuff. I don't know,
I don't, I don't, I don't know. He's interesting. I'm
surprized by that he didn't want to be that type
of guy. But I didn't take that as him being
like a bad dude. I just a fired up player.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
I didn't.

Speaker 6 (34:40):
We know he's a good dude off the field, Like,
I didn't really think anything of it. Dude, don't you
want your You want your corner? Saying that directly to
the guy's face. You are I got you in a
car seat, baby like that?

Speaker 5 (34:49):
You want your corner? Saying that to the guy directly,
not just on the sideline.

Speaker 6 (34:55):
James mc ever gets upset when his speeches get out.
I'm thinking he may lie when we come back, what
are we gonna do next back? We're gonna try to
get least throwing on I guess here, what's next on
the play trying? We just did what we were gonna
do at seven forty five. So what we're gonna do now?
I know that's a hell of a question. College football
or Lee Sterling? All Right, college football or Lee Sterling.
We're either gonna talk about the big SEC games or

(35:17):
Lee Sterley's gonna show up on your radios, y'all.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
And we're gonna take you in the Ryder Cup as
well as Radio nine. And you know, the Kiffin head coach,

(35:52):
thank you for for ole Miss.

Speaker 6 (35:53):
As long as he's not distracted by his daughter dating
the linebacker from LSU.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
You know the Kiffin is gonna be putting this in
good position to make clicks. How about this show? Good
on you? Wit Weeks? How about good on you? And
then how about Kiffin's response? Priceless? Take the over?

Speaker 6 (36:15):
Love it?

Speaker 5 (36:16):
He'll go score Earth. You ain't gonna win on social
media with Lane? Is there anything better than the SEC?
Is any better than Lane Kiffin? I love Lee Kiffin.

Speaker 6 (36:25):
We got daughters dating opposing linebackers and head coaches posting
like just love the college football is the best man.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
Todd McShay, Steve Menched, That is the McShay show. And
they're talking about wit week Starry LSU linebacker Landry Kiffin,
Lane's oldest daughter. They're dating somehow Landry thought it was
a good idea to announce it during oh Miss LSU
game week, but Lane Kiffin didn't care. He did post
Take the Over on us on Twitter as a response.

(36:58):
So add that to the drama of La Shee and
ole Miss. By the way, speaking of drama, Scotti Scheffler
Bone hits a birdie punt from about twelve feet out.
They win the second hole, so they're all square in
that second match up, and the US Rice and and
JT still lead their matchup over Rom and Hatton one
up there, and then the third matchup just starting.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
They're playing the first hole. Rory and Fleetwood, we gotta
go against on this. You are you are not Jim
Nance the golfing ouncer, though, are you? You have a
different level of an ounce, of the different style different
style of golfing ounces.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Hey, you are him Nance? But I fit the Ryder
Cup though. Don't I scream it about it?

Speaker 7 (37:31):
You do?

Speaker 6 (37:32):
There's about two of these, the Wiste Open and this
one that you're good with, the Waste Open, the Waste
Management Open.

Speaker 5 (37:37):
That's what I met.

Speaker 6 (37:38):
Yeah, the Waist Open. It'd be like sponsored by poop.
A golf tournament sponsored by poop. All right, anyway, this
show should probably be sponsored by Poop. Sometimes those that
no golf called the Waist right, look it up?

Speaker 5 (37:49):
All right?

Speaker 4 (37:49):
So here's what we're gonna do with Lee Sterling. Lee
Sterling uh needs till eight o'clock, but he's good to go.
So we're gonna get Lee's picks at eight o'clock. We're
gonna do a lot of college football. Uh, you know,
college will all confidence conversations. At eight twenty five, we're
going to talk bone as well about the about the Panthers.
That's when we have to make our decision Bone or

(38:10):
a Panther it up? Or am I gonna spare my
fellow Panther fans that don't want me picking them this
week and not Panther up.

Speaker 5 (38:18):
Honestly, it feels like a coin flip game.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
It really feels like the type of game bone, and
both teams have had these issues. Last week the Patriots
lose to the Steelers. Why they turned it over five times,
including once at the goal line the first two weeks
in a season. Why did the Panthers lose those games?
Number one reason? Because of turnovers. It feels like a
game bone that could come down to turnovers, you know
what I mean? Like the teams feel that close.

Speaker 6 (38:41):
It feels like it's gonna be ugly and it's gonna
be a matchup where who I know that you could
say this for a lot of games. I think you
know what I'm talking about when I say this, who
can make the fewest mistakes in this football? Because I
think both teams probably will. I think it'll be ugly,
but I think it's gonna be who makes the fewest mistakes,
who maybe doesn't miss the field goal, muff upon do
something like that to win this game.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
Yeah, I think that.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
I think the turning he's gonna be very pretty honestly,
I think the turnovers could be the big factor here.
Let's see what else do we go? Oh, so we're
getting a lot of texts about the JC horn stuff
and how he said, hey, I didn't want that out
there whatever, And I thought Cornelius Rob put it well.
He says, don't get attitude and being a bleephole looking
for social media clicks. Confused, JC has mad attitude. He

(39:26):
just doesn't want it flaunted. Another Texter, JC still has attitude. Mac,
don't say he doesn't. He just doesn't want that stuff
out there. I mean, I wasn't saying he.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
Didn't have it.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
I guess what I was saying is, don't try to
hide it, man Like gets out there embrace it. Yeah,
I said it, Like that's the kind of attitude I
was looking for. Yeah, I said it.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
You know what I mean? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Yeah, Yeah, But I think you all bring up a
good point too, is he doesn't want it used as
here check out this badass attitude.

Speaker 6 (39:56):
Having corner we got, like, you know what I mean?
I guess I guess that's what he's thinking. I would
love to have my trash talk promoted. Honestly, though, I
would love to be a badass that can back up
my talk. I'm really not that though. I really can't
back up a lot of what I say. VNZ wants
promote my trash talk.

Speaker 5 (40:13):
I've had it. Don't take it down, please, Actually, we'll
make up stuff and put it up. I want to do.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
What's this guy saying? Table Bacon McMillan is going back
to the Islands on Sunday, except this time he'll be
visiting Gonzo Island. Is this this dang Patriots fan keeps
hitting us up about Christian Gonzales.

Speaker 5 (40:30):
Yes, I think so.

Speaker 6 (40:31):
I mean he's been I think Gonzo Island is an
actual vocation. He flounders burner, he's been out for he's
been out for two months. Certainly he's going to be
better than their corners they have there.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
I mean it's scruffing city there bone with guys like
Austin and guys like Marcus Jones. I mean, I think
they both have are giving up quarterback ratings over one
forty so far. He's a he's an all Pro. Will
he be at his best right away? Or will Tim
mac get him when maybe he's not quite at his best.

Speaker 6 (41:00):
He has been out for over two months. I think
that's a fair point. It's not like he's missed a
couple games and he's coming back. He's been out for
the duration of them getting ready for the season.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Yeah, So I listen, I don't want him coming back,
and it is an interesting matchup, but maybe that's one
thing that I would throw in there as well. This
Texter says Lane Kiffin is going to light up his
daughter's boyfriend in coverage. This dude is gonna be sent
a lesson. I mean he lights up everybody in coverage.

(41:30):
With the offense, I mean, the offense is just nasty
and this kid, Trinidad Chambliss has been amazing running it.

Speaker 6 (41:36):
Man.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
So this is a battle and we're gonna talk about it,
but we're going to do Lee Stirling and then we're
going to you know, maybe maybe we'll do these SEC
games first college football confidence and then maybe we'll bring
in all the local games. Yeah, you know, college football confidence.
But that is a hell of a matchup. Blake Baker's
defense bone that's top ten in the country against Oh

(41:59):
Missus high power offense that is top ten in the country.
Like I think it's six versus seven. Old Missus offense
is six. Blake Baker's defensive seventh in scoring defense. It
is going to be a fascinating matchup tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (42:11):
Man, it is. You know, a couple of weeks ago,
I would have leaned LSU in this game, But right now,
how good are they because their biggest wins over Clemston
And what does that mean right now? That's the problem
I have is I thought LSU was a national title
contender after that first week, but then you watch Clemson,
you go, LSU didn't even beat those betat Syracuse did
in that joint. So kind of not sure what LSU

(42:32):
is right now on it. I kind of well, we'll
get into it. I was gonna say, we're gonna we're
gonna ask everybody who's got college football confidence seven oh
four Number A Team Mac is gonna turn Gonzo Island
into Boss Island.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
I love it, man, I love it. This is a

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
