Speaker 1 (00:03):
Oh, Owen's Mack and Bow on your radio, Basy, listen
to my freem mat posh, Come on, posh. This in
my freem t bone. What's up the fun?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
I can't go to work without listening to Mac and Bone.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Do a lot. Sports Radio ninety two seven w FNZ
Mack and Bone did. Ready to focus on our enemy
this week, the New England Patriots. We'll focus on former
Patriots coach current UNC coach Bill Belichick this hour as well.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Oh fun.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
National media is having a field day. They are having
a field day. But how do tar Heel fans feel.
I think we are gonna find out flounders strong feelings.
And we got some random crap today as well. We're
gonna have some fun this hour. We're gonna talk, We're
gonna sports it up this hour. We're doing it live
from the Tailor Volta Studio, Cbinjury loud dot com, see
(01:00):
injury law dot com. One call, that's all. They are
Carolina's personal injury lawyer. Shout out to Chandler Volta. You
get into a record, you have any a for a
personal injury lawyer. Uh, these are the best in Charlotte.
There is no doubt about that, all right, Bone man,
let's do it. Let's get to know our enemy, shall we,
(01:20):
the New England Patriots. Let's talk about what they've done well,
what they've done badly. They're one and two to start,
and they're one win we were talking about just turn
to break. They're one winners against the Dolphins and they
needed to pull that out late thirty three, twenty seven.
So as bad as Miami was, Bone, they barely beat
(01:40):
Miami and they're that close to being Ozero and three.
I feel like there's a lot of games that went
through my head that are panther games. I'm sort of
watching on the side on red zone. I do feel like,
didn't they have to they had to rally late? Right,
wasn't the late score? Yeah? It was right? Yeah? Yeah,
I may have had New England in that game. Everything
comes back to a bet you either won or lost. Yeah,
(02:02):
they I mean they didn't beat the Raiders. You know,
they lost to the Raiders. They turned it over five
times against Pittsburgh, but they only turned it over one
time in the other two games, but five times it's
absolutely absurd. So should we start with what they do bad?
Let's start with the do bad? Because we'll start with
the what'sart with the defense, the good and bad of
(02:22):
the defense, I think, and then we'll work to the offense. Okay,
I was gonna say, let's just start with the bad
stuff first, because the bad stuff is the positives for us, right,
So I want to just let's just start this happiness
by talking about what they do badly and the two
things they have done the worst bone is, or two
of them off the top of my head, are past protection.
(02:43):
Drake May has been sacked twelve times. That's the second
most in the league. Now, this is a collision course bone.
This is resistible force and movable object this week because
the Panthers only have one sack last in the league.
But there's an opportunity there against this offensive line. And
then the other thing is the past defense bone. The
pass defense has been especially with out they're all pro
(03:04):
corner Christian Gonzales has been getting shredded.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Man.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Yeah, they're twenty eighth in the league in stack percentage,
so sacks allowed. Basically, they're twenty eighth in the league.
On the pass defensive stuff here Mac, they are thirtieth
in the league allowing seventy four point one percent completion percentage,
they are thirty first in the league and opponents yard
per pass at nine point two in a real struggle
(03:28):
for them. They are thirty first in the league in
red zone touchdown percentage. On defense, they're allowing teams to
score touchdowns eighty three point three percent of the time
once they reach the red zone. I don't know how
that's not lacked by the way in the league. Eighty
three point three seems I got very high numbered. Someone
might just have a hundie in that category. Someone might
literally have given up a touchdown on every red zone drive.
(03:50):
Dallas Cowboys. Maybe Dallas Cowboys, but anyway, yeah, they've and
so so here's what I can deduce from those stats.
You read off to me. Giving up a ton of
completions per you know, per pass play, and they're giving
up a ton of yards each pass play. That is
the worst of both worlds. Yeah, that's not like, hey,
(04:11):
we're giving up a high percentage, but they're dinking and
dunking on us. No, you're getting big yards on us
and you're completing a crap ton of the passes. I
was looking up bone at their some of the coverage
grades on PFF there's some brutal, brutal numbers in here
for the coverage grades. They're linebackers. I know, listen, I
(04:33):
understand we live in a glasshouse on this one with
our linebacker coverage at times early this year. But they're linebackers.
Bone Robert Splane thirty one quarterback rating or thirty one
coverage rating on PFF. Christian Ellis twenty six coverage rating
for those of you who are not familiar with PFF,
that goes up to one hundred. That's horrible. I mean,
(04:54):
so those guys are getting torn apart the corners because
they don't have Gonzales inbone every but he has to
take an increased role at corners. So those corners that
they have have been getting lit up. Now they may
get Gonzales back because everybody thought he'd be back long
before now, and he was close last week but he
(05:15):
didn't go. And and some people, I think Albert Breer
kind of hinted that people in Boston are wondering Bone
is he because he's got a contract situation coming up soon.
Is he being over protective of himself coming off this
hanstring injury and could have played and didn't. So there's
a little controversy up there, but if he comes back
bone that could change things a bit.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So that's one of the best in the league. So
certainly that's part of the reason why some of those
numbers are what they are. For context, they're also mag
on the other side in terms of rush yards per game,
they are exactly at one hundred, which means they are
nineteenth in the league in rush yards per game. So
that's okay, all right, they passed it, well, they're seventh
(05:56):
in pass yards. Drake's been Drake has been slinging it
and has been passing it. But again, the flip side
is Bony those sacks like you know you can get him.
He's dropping back to pass and if he gets it off,
he's been making some place. He doesn't have the scariest
receiving core Bony Like when you look at this, you
(06:16):
look at their receivers. Is boot Te like the top guy,
my man, Booty. I thought it was we're back. We're
back to Booty again. Oh really, because he and Ego
the other day there was a holding call the other
day in the game and he and Eagle said, oh,
he grabbed the booty. Oh okay, I thought I roll
for that yet, didn't It used to be Kashan, But
I think it's back to Booty because on Red Zone
(06:38):
Channel he was Booty and the during the game of
the Corner. I've been married for years. I don't know
much touchdown to it. I said Booty for six I
don't know much about Booty these days. But anyway, let
me move along. We'll see the States at some point.
Move along here, let's see what else we have going on.
But like you look at the Hunter Henry's the leading receiver,
Like that's bad news for our tight end matchups problems
(06:59):
that we've had, although we did well on pits. But
like it just speaks through the receiver Stefan Diggs. He's
averaging eight yards of catch. Like even Hunter renfro might
laugh at that bone, Like that's Jason Witten territory. Yeah,
for a wide receiver. That ain't good at all. He's
been slow off the injury. One thing they are good
at running backs. Running backs have not been great. Steele Stevenson,
(07:23):
by the way, averages just over four yards of carry through,
but he averages three point nine after contact. Bad. How
badly is that offensive line back? Offensive line stay is
getting hit like zero point one yards past the line.
So yeah, big boys, let's get after that dude up front.
A couple of things. They are good at matta one
of the that's the flip side. Penalties are bad at
(07:45):
two bone. You talked about this the other day twenty
seventh in penalties per game. That led some angry Titan
Titan stand to tweet out at least a graphic that
you were talking about yesterday that compares Jerry Mayo's team's
penalties with the Patriots, because they said how undisciplined they were,
and everybody says that for Able is mister discipline, and
(08:07):
it's like double the penalties in the first three games.
This This bitter Titans fan said, now everybody can see
that man as a fraud. Ha ha, So I guess
they're not fans.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
It's going so well for the Titans. How's their head coach?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Like, yeah, you could be in trouble. He already give
up play calling this year with the new quarterback. Uh yeah,
twenty seven penalties right now. They had thirteen at this
moment a year ago. That's what it waits turnovers to
one a year ago. So not exactly ideal. Star compared
to where they were. What they're good at MAC completion percentage.
They're at seventy two right now, which is second in
the league. Yards per game passing their twelfth and they're yeah,
(08:43):
Drake may has been really slinging it there. One thing
they're really I thought there's seventh yards per game. I
wrong about that. There's seventh in yards per pass yards
per game, they're seventh. Yeah, and that's what I thought. Okay, Yeah,
completion percentage their second. Oh, yards per past twelve Yeah, yeah,
I'm sorry. Yeah, yards for past twelve. Also, they are
ninth in third down conversions, so that's important in the game.
(09:04):
They are good when they get the third down, so
I keep that in mind. Run defense has been tremendous.
That's also a huge strength for the Patriots. Their second
in the league bone in yards per game allowed at sixty,
second in the game in yards per rush at two
point eight. They've been playing some great run defense and
the guys up front they've been getting it done. Howard
Landry has been amazing. He's got three and a half
(09:25):
sacks and like eleven pressures to start the season. Milty Williams,
the guy that we were hot to trot for Bonny,
but the Patriots ended up essentially winning the bidding war
and swooping in at the last minute. He's got nine
pressures and a couple of sacks. Run defense for him
not necessarily as strong, but as a team they played some.
(09:46):
So are we're gonna want to get the run game going? Bone?
I wonder, I do wonder if it's one of these.
Eugene Robinson brought this up. Is this a game where
you pass, especially if Gonzales doesn't play, Do you pass
to set up the run against him? Good? Point? Yeah,
because they have so many scruffins back there in coverage
right now they are averaging two point eight yards giving
up on the ground per rush. Two point eight that's
(10:09):
a very very low number. So you're right. Do you
great idea by Eugene, d you pass to open these
up a little bit more? Because out here when I
said two point eight, I honestly, are you now at
twelve times not listening?
Speaker 5 (10:19):
There?
Speaker 4 (10:19):
Are?
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Is it twelve to ten? I am engaged? There are
so many numbers. Fine right now, I didn't realize you
said two point eight? Do you just want to emphasize
it though? You just want to make it's a very
impressive numbers. You just wanted to emphasize it. I honestly
was looking at the same stat I didn't realize you
had already said it. I'm not going to give it
to your big dog. Ever, go baby, Matt. Shout out
(10:40):
to Matt. Matt's gonna get the Sycamore shout out today, Bony.
So that means Matt, you got to head by. You
know what you need to do, Matt. We need to
steal Fiddy's one hundred dollars gift card at Sycamore. Sycamore
set one to Fitty personally and said, hey, take a
lady out to our place here at Sycamore. You's got
to get her from Seattle. The game is just sitting
on this The thing's collecting dust. We had to take
that from fitting and give it to Matt or take
(11:02):
a founder, take your other person with you. There you go,
There you go. Sycamore tap Room on Hawkins Street. Man,
you talk about places with tons of TVs to watch games,
amazing freaking beer from Sycamore and you get you get
more than you get in stores. They got some special
ones there. And I'm telling you, man, the young ladies
that will be out and about live music. So anyway, Maddie,
we need to get you over to the Sycamore uh,
(11:24):
you know, to the Sycamore tap Room. But anyway, Matt
gets the Sycamore shout out because they explain to us
that Darren calling Now I'm screwing it up. Calling David
Newton Darren Newsom is like an inside joke among Panther fans.
That's what he's called on the Reddit threads because he
will often misspell things. I no idea. Also, Mac, you
(11:46):
may have messed up a name during that segment. It's Harold,
Harold Landry. That's what I was trying to say, because
people think you said Howard. I'm trying to say, Harold,
Is that really what we're doing now? Are we really
that concerned about that audience?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Really?
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Is that what? And Bone couldn't read that one fast enough,
flound you see boat, No, No, I could not get
to that one for you. I am trying to say, Harold.
I don't know how it came across. I'm talking very fast.
I'm very excited because we have a one game on
a one game winning streak. I'm just keeping tracking the
text lines pointed out do you know what Bone did
this offensive? Bad guy? Bad guy? Oh he got caught
(12:23):
not listening for a second time. Oh but the textures
caught Max saying how you don't get a hair?
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Let me read that one off on the air.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Didn't like it? You don't like it when the rabbits
got the gun? Do you hate no fun? When the
rabbit got the gun? You got a pelic gun? Rabbits.
That is the stupidest thing ever. Who the hell gives
a crap? If I say if I mistakenly said Howard
and it's Harold, I know the name is got to
be texted. Why should you literally waste your little baby
fingers to text that? What? What kind of life are
(12:52):
you living? And then Bone, what got a sad life?
Do you have?
Speaker 2 (12:55):
That?
Speaker 1 (12:55):
You then have to read that off? You can get
over yourself. Tried to call me two minutes ago because
you weren't listening. We're both giving out a ton of numbers.
I didn't really just said that one already. I'm listening.
And by the way, you said, bad guy. Move. I
heard you say Howard Landry, but I didn't call you
(13:16):
out till the text I pointed out it was my responsibility.
I thought you said Harold. I was trying to say Harold.
But doesn't even matter. Everybody knows who we're talking about,
maybe a text or didn't know. They're gonna watch the game.
They're gonna think I listened to my man, mat who
is Howard Landry? Three ninja guys says talks about sports? Man?
Shut up? Shaking my head, Why don't you shut the
(13:36):
bleep up, ninja guy. You're listening to us, baby, you
are talking. We haven't talking sports. I'm just seven stats.
I'm just angry because you guys are just poking. You're
just poking and poking and poking. All right, anyway, I'm
good now though, I'm good, baby. Let's sports it up.
Do you think there's anyone out there named Howard Landry
(13:57):
that's listening right now? He's like an accountant. I wish
he pass rushing away. How'd it be a lot better
if Howard Landry was rushing the past? How did talk
sports guy get in and say talk sports staring at
sports segment is in the middle of my ran I
guess he just wanted me to shut the hell up
and stop yelling, But that then led me to yell
at him too. You know, I just spread the yelling around.
When we come back here on the back and bunch
and we're gonna we're gonna be cool off. We're gonna
(14:17):
team meeting with ourselves here on the radio program. And
when we come back on the show, what is a
realistic expectation for the No that's yesterday, yesterday, get man line,
get on him, text lines, get him yesterdays. The media
reviews that Chapel Bill have gotten worse. But how are
(14:39):
heels fans feeling right now? That sounds like a good
segment sports radio?
Speaker 5 (14:44):
Any dude, seven, Hold up, wait a minute, now, wait
a minute.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
I wanted to do a little homework and I watched
their videotape or you know, some tape on it. They're
worse on tape than the thought they with you. And
I'm not saying just you know, because you can say, well,
we have really bad players. Okay, you brought in seventy
new people, right, But I'm seeing things that just you know,
just misfits on defense, which which for the listener, that
(15:29):
means the they're not if as a linebacker takes on
a block, he's supposed to send that to the unblocked
safety with it. So if the safety is inside, I'm
taking on the block with my inside shoulder to force
it to him it's not happening. And then on the
offensive side, it's a train wreck. So so I don't know.
(15:50):
I don't think it ends well. I hate to say
that this is not a money deal to me though
this has not when you start saying ten million, okay,
what's yeah, taxes, this, this, this, Am I really doing
this for that?
Speaker 6 (16:04):
And I like money's going to be a factor for
some of these other programs we're going to talk about.
But I got Chapel Hill, so coach, I mean, he's
going to get through this year, right right? I would
let's say, I would think one more year at least.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Yeah, sure, and then he hits up to him first.
It's up to him. North Carolina is not going to
fire Bill Belichick.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Everybody, let's get back on the same page, all right, Bonie,
let's get back on the same page. I apologize to
Bonie all the Texters. I personally screamed at him, good
now that I'm good now. Howard ac texted in and
he works at all State. He says, Howard Landry is
the name of an all state agent. He knowes. I
was just I think I seen his name on a
signed before. I was just hoping he would be the
(16:48):
one rushing the passer and not Harold. That's all. I
was just trying to make that happen. All right, Let's
now everybody come together. We hugged it out during the
break and move some product for We're good, baby, We're good.
What's the and it said, once Mack has to sell something,
he locks in. That is true. I wanted to be
nice to everybody when I need you to buy my product.
I'm pitch. I'm gonna be nice to everybody. People wonder
(17:09):
why we don't really argue much during the break, because
you're always selling something every three minutes, so you have
to lock in, all right, I got I got an
explosive tember every now and all right, anyway, let's lock in, baby,
because now we gotta do we gotta do something here.
We gotta talk heels, fans, we got to talk through this.
We got to talk through this Belichick thing. You just
heard urban Meyer their bone and he brings up something
(17:29):
a lot of people bring up, is, Hey, it's not
just that the foot the talent that that Carolina has
looks bad and looks like it is very underwhelming, and
that he has such a ways to go in that area. Uh,
the quarterback play needs to be way better. You think
about a couple of quarterbacks that that Mac had there,
I mean, how far off from that are they? So,
(17:50):
but people are noticing just the fundamental stuff they're not doing,
and that is what is shocking football stuff. Yes, out
of people like gurban Meyer, they're shocked. They all right.
I forget who the person is who played a clip
of earlier in the week that was shocked that this
team looks poorly coached. And it's just it's insane that
it's a Bill Belichick team that he has not been
(18:10):
able to at least what were we saying before the season.
I bet they at least play fundamental ball, especially on defense.
It ain't happening, man. So I think that's the thing
that's taking people aback the most, just how badly they've
gotten beat by the two you know, the two power
for opponents to combine eighty two to twenty three. So
(18:31):
I want to know, like the national media is certainly
all over Belichick, how do you feel if you're a
Tar Heel fan, Like we'll ask Flounder in a second.
I have a feeling he may scream worse Bone than
I just did a few minutes ago. But like I
honestly want to know, like tar Heel fans, when you
hear all this noise out there, like even urban Meyer
who has a friendship with him, who he I didn't
(18:52):
include it in the clip Bone, but before the part
I included and that's the what's it called.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Triple option podcast?
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Triple off your podcast? He talked about how much he
learned from Bill Belichick. They have a relationship like they're friends.
So like he didn't take any joy in saying that,
but he just he said, I don't think it's going
to end well there now. He did say he doesn't
think U and C would ever fire him, but he
just doesn't think it's going to ever get good. So
I'll ask you, and I definitely want to know what
(19:20):
tar Heel fans think. Do you think that this is
just a rough start and he's got He does have
a top ten recruiting class I think on twenty four
to seven for next year so far. Do you think
eventually he gets it going or do you really think
this could be like just a complete train wreck. I
think it could be a complete trained wreck. And here's
(19:41):
part of the reason why. In New England, mag we
marvel at his ability to like take like a lacrosse
player and maximize the most out of him, or to
move players around, to put Troy Brown at defensive back,
and to do all these creative things and to maximize
the most out of the talent that he has. With
the difference back between those years and this year at
Carolina and going forward, because the transfer portal and all
(20:05):
the movement, the core in New England largely stayed the same.
He knew year and year at he had Tom Brady,
he knew a lot of the defensive players, he knew
the offensive line, he knew the majority of the guys
he had coming back. So when he needed to find
something else or to be creative or do something, it
didn't It wasn't just like trying to make something out
of like seventy five guys. Right now, he's got nothing.
(20:28):
He's got a blank canvas at UNC, but he's not
he didn't have a core, So he's trying Mack to
get the most out of seventy five new players that
he doesn't know that are new to the program. It's
not like working with two, three, four, five, six seven
new guys. They're all new and a guy at his age,
that's a lot of energy as a head coach to
try to do that to an entire football team. And
(20:50):
I also have a theory, and I wonder it'll be
more on this than the next segment. I wonder how
much he really wanted to coach in college or did
Miss Hudson talk to him when it wasn't going right
for with the NFL teams and talk him into a
college job because she knew she had to keep her
selection for her to be a celebrity she wants to be,
(21:12):
he had to be coaching somewhere, so we know he
listens to her. Man, you are you really did she
talk him into taking a car juicy with them? I'm
just curious juicy with this. He full, we want this
the whole way through. I don't know, Listen, you talk
about all the new players. I mean, it's not an
ideal situation. I just but I didn't think no one
thought it would be this bad, that that that the
(21:33):
talent would look that bad, that they would struggle this
badly in their first two power for battles. Here's the
thing in the NFL, and this speaks to your point.
Guys are under contract. So yeah, you'll have free agents
every year, but the majority of your team will still
be under contract. There ain't no contracts here, although I
guess GEO might have one, and that might be bad
news if he has a two year contract. The most
(21:56):
players bone our year to year, So how's he going
to deal with every year when college kids want to
leave more every year? Yeah, it's just And when he
was hired, I was skeptical. I was skeptical of it,
and again I wanted to work out. I am not
a fan of Bill Belichick personally. I will not hide that.
I just think he's a bit of an ogre and
a bully and just a miserable human being. Quite frankly,
(22:18):
I just think he is all those things, but the Shrek.
He's been a hell of a football coach and he
you know, he's coaching Carolina most importantly, and I want
all the local teams to be good, and it would
be an amazing storyline. He was good here, but how
can you not fear for this situation? Another thing, too,
is Bill Belichick. So when it comes to recruiting Bill belichick,
(22:38):
evaluation of talent was seen as his biggest weakness and
his biggest downfall the pro game. So now it's him
and who else who's running a personnel show. Michael Lombardi,
these guys are new to the college game.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Also had a weakness at evaluating talent.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Was not a good was not particularly good. Definitely way
better at talking right, So like they're new to the
college game talent, you know, they weren't great at talent evaluators. Like,
so there's just there's a lot of questions, man, And
I wonder, I wonder how tar heel fans are feeling,
Like how do you feel about this flounder? Like when
everybody is like making fun and saying, all this is
(23:14):
a failure, Like he got an F in the CBS
grades for like first year coaches good, not any coach
got lower than a C minus. He got an F.
Like do you think this is just a complete failure?
Are you afraid it is? Oh?
Speaker 7 (23:28):
Right now, it definitely looks like it's a complete failure.
I mean, you were non competitive against the worst team
in the Big Twelve according to preseason magazines that team sucks.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
And they are probably gonna be here what.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
We're talking about.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Yes, they had sixty three new players to your seventy new.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
I know that's that.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
And they still look that dominant and.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
They've got a quarterback that balled out.
Speaker 7 (23:49):
But I said it the other night, and I feel
like there were some people that had pushback to it.
This is not a well coached team, guys, not right now.
I mean you look at just you know, the fund
the medals are simply not there. It looks worse than
it looked under Mac Brown, which is shocking to say
the least. The offense is a complete disaster. Freddy Kitchens
(24:10):
is just a complete moron. I don't even know why
they decided to hire him. Keeping him on was a
disastrous move. Who's a better Bill Belichick, oh coordinator? Freddy
Kitchens or Matt Patricia. When they said, hey, we don't
have anybody else, why don't you switch sides on them?
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Think you might be.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Patricia's fat ass, Like that's what's that? That's what's so sad.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
About the Matt Patricia damn good decordinator as you see
in Ohio state. But yes, so yeah, although it still
uses the pencil on laminated sheet, which is always bothering.
Now you still you don't like that? You still can't
get that? Are what are the tar heel fans saying?
Because this is you've heard what Flown said? Are you
guys just starting to feel like, man, we have just
completely screwed up here, because he does bone have twenty
(24:50):
four to seven has them in the top ten. I
believe Flound of the twenty twenty six recruiting rankings High
school side.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Top twenty, top tent, top twenty, in the top.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Ten, okay, top twenty? What is it sixteenth or is eleventh?
I thought it was seventeen The.
Speaker 7 (25:03):
Last time I saw it, it was either seventeen or eighteen.
And a lot of that is that, yes, there is
some talent that they've been bringing in. They flipped a
couple of guys from some big places, but a lot
of it is the sheer number of guys that are
committed to the class as well, So it's more volume
than it is.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
I got well, and that's not gotten the portal obviously,
because they yeah, portal has just started yet. Hold on,
I got it right here because I was looking all
this up last night.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Depends on what site you go twenty.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Four to seven, But it doesn't help if I can't
locate it. Hey, I'll look it up real quick. I
got it right here. Seventeenth with there we go. They
got ten four stars. Though that's not a bad number
right now.
Speaker 7 (25:39):
That's especially with how bad they've looked on the field.
That's the concern, right is that if this keeps up,
are there gonna be guys that say at bail, look,
I understand I can get early playing time, but I
want to go somewhere where I can win.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
That's where you start to get a little work.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
No, you're right. Can they sustain that through signing day?
Speaker 5 (26:00):
Is?
Speaker 1 (26:00):
If you play like this, that's a hell of a question. Also, Bone,
and I know tar Heel fins told me to shut
up about this. I did not scream at them, though,
and they did this That says I kept this more
civil than a few minutes ago. But like tar Heel fans,
some had a problem with me making a big deal
out of the Patriots scouts not being allowed and Bill
Belichick's flipping attitude about hey, they didn't want me, you know,
(26:20):
and so I don't want them. And then there was
also the report that said, even with other team scouts,
Belichick is much more restrictive to their access. And I said,
for a guy that claims to be the thirty third
NFL team, and his whole pitch is, I know what
it takes to get to be an NFL player, to
make you an NFL player, that doesn't match your attitude
towards scouts, doesn't match that. So does that hurt recruiting too?
(26:41):
I wonder, so far, so good. The class looks good.
The high school one may not affect it right away,
but the portal guys, he's trying to get me. If
there's a quarterback or a big time player that has
aspirations back of maybe going to the next step of
to the pros, next level, and he knows that Belichick's
not allowing scouts there, and he's got the option of
(27:01):
going somewhere else, Why wouldn't he go somewhere else to
try to get to the NFL or help his stock
if Belichick's going to be that way. So I think
that would hurt the portal guys as much as anybody.
Speaker 7 (27:10):
Well, the other thing people need to realize, because when
I said this, there was pushback, Well, everybody does this,
No they do not.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
That is a lie.
Speaker 7 (27:18):
There is nobody else in college football that restricts NFL
scouts from coming in because what is the number one
goal of being a college football coach is to get
your guys to the next level.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
What is that? You got to know that, especially if
your pitch is yes, thirty third NFL team, I know
what it takes to be an NFL player. It's just
he also came across as a petty jerk too, like
when he said they don't want me there.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
What like bridges in shots here, He's done it with
the Jets for years.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Puts here. You see my comments earlier about him. Man,
I'm telling you I'm not a fan of the dude.
But again, i am a fan of Tar Heel sports.
I'm a fan of the local sports around here. I
want him to do well, but it is a scary
situation reading some of these texts. Yarlette Bourne g J.
I'm a Heels fan, but I don't care about his
downfall because of the evidence that they cheated in our
(28:07):
Super Bowl. I'm a Panthers fan. First. Wow, that's interesting
right there. All things Carolina. Let's see if he can
keep the good players in this recruiting class. That's what
Flown was talking about. They have eyes, they have TVs right,
hopefully not. I don't know some of these players have
eyes tar heel ud. He says, why don't they let
Bryce Baker play? See? This was interesting Flown. During the
(28:28):
Richmond game they announced at the end of the game
and coming in as a true freshman, and I'm like, oh,
Bryce Baker. It wasn't it. Baker was some other dude,
r Terry Newkirk, So why did was Bryce Baker's They
saying that Baker is having trouble picking up the offense
because he came from a more college style offense. What offense?
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Yeah, well that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Right, you had one. He's wheeling, winging it.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
He's not a guy that really succeeds under center, so
it's taking him a little.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Bit of time.
Speaker 7 (28:57):
I had this argument with Fiddy and I Actually, interestingly enough,
I was talking about this with my mom last night
when we were out for her birthday. She wanted to
know how the podcast was doing, and I said, not, well,
not well. So I told her about the fact that
you need Max Johnson in there to evaluate the rest
of the roster. He gives you the best chance to
(29:19):
evaluate the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
He might not be better than the freshman in the
long run.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
Maybe later in the year you do that, but you
got to evaluate everybody on this roster right now.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
By the way, Geo Lopez doesn't fit their offense either.
They have horrendous, a pro style offense that terrible paid
Geo four million year for two years Bryce Baker. That
smells like a transfer to make.
Speaker 7 (29:43):
Can I tell you that the NBA they paid go
O because they panicked when they were in the spring.
They had Ryan Brown and they had Bryce Baker. Bryce
Baker clearly was not ready. Ryan Brown I think was
already destined to go back to Purdue no matter what happened.
I don't think he was really latching on at Carolina.
Maybe he didn't fit with what Belichick was wanting to do. Whatever,
(30:05):
And they said, we've got to get another quarterback in
here because Max is still dealing with the leg. We're
not sure about that. We don't trust Bryce, and we're
not gonna trust Newkirk. So they just panicked and said,
who's the best guy that we can go out and get?
Geo Lopez. Okay, We're gonna make some fit.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Okay. So yeah, here's okay. So you did that, you
must then alter your offense and play to his strengths
hundred percent. And these are the guys that are trying
to tell us that the thirty third f an NFL team, Like,
it's just it's that's the brain power behind a thirty
third NFL team. So there's some stubborn man and Jef
the Braves fans says, as anyone told Bill, there's no
college draft for being the worst team. You think he's
(30:41):
tagging taking to get that high pick. Yeah, hey, Mike,
how we look it in the any draft thought thought, sir,
we can't do that here. Hopefully the portal will go.
I mean, they do supposedly have this NIO money, can they?
But you got to pay the right pay players if
you pay a guy like Geo, you know ye? All right?
I got bad news for Tarho fans. I actually feel
bad flound for like I hate Clemson too, Like I
(31:03):
hate all these fan bases that are so miserable.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Why are you smiling?
Speaker 1 (31:06):
I hate it, man? But Belichick is in random crap.
Belichick and Jordan Hudson, Oh my god, let's go up next.
I'm sorry. We thought that she was also Matt maybe
gonna take a back seat during the season. Turns out
she is more on the surface than ever. You're gonna
find out in Random Crap, What a Jordan and Bill
up to now and so much more On Sports Radio
(31:28):
nine seven wins.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Random Crap, Random Crap. Mac and Boone talk random crap,
random crap, random crap. Mack and Boone talk random crap, random,
random crap, random crap, random crapuck.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Crap, Oh crap, We stink like a baby's blowout infested diaper.
They talk about crap that is random. Is the Queen
City Space Morning Tandem Mac and Bone, Random Crap, Mac
and Bone. All right, let's do it, Babe at his
random crap time. Let's have some fun. We got stuff
from all kinds of walks of life that we've got
(32:13):
to get to here, Bone to hit you with coming
up at nine o'clock here on the Mack and Bone
Show on WFNZ, Jones Angel joins us to talk heels
oh Man, Jones has to try to keep it together. Bone.
You think he might just segue into basketball talk. He
could remember last time he promoted the next guest calling.
I'm so that's a great gas. Go talk to him.
(32:34):
He might promote Gary Williams today Jones. He poor heels man,
poor heels. Sycamores for heels fans man, y'all need a
mountain candy. All right, let's lock into some random crap.
And I'm sorry heels fans. But Bill Belichick and Jordan
Hudson are on the cover of the upcoming US weekly
Bone Lovely, and the article all about Jordan Hudson. Is
(32:55):
she really a gold digger? Is she misunderstood? Is she
Bill's muse? What is she? It's an in depth look
at Jordan Hudson, and the article Bone is very much
favorable to Jorge Hudson, Like it's a lot of people
that she was cheerleers with in college, that she knows
from life, that say she's a great girl. She's 'all
(33:18):
don't understand, Jordan huts she's a great girl. So I
wonder how this got out there. Most of it is
like people that she knows, it sounds like that are
on her side. I did read in there that Meghan
Kelly apparently once accused her of elder abuse. What in
her relationship with Bill Belie Belichick. I'm not sure that's abuse. Sure,
(33:40):
I'm not sure she's causing pain to Bill BELCHERM Central
Florida and TCU did Elder abuse? There you go, there
you go. Let's see here. Multiple sources close to Bill
do not believe the rumors that they're engaged or that
Bill would propose. Multiple sources set in this article Bone
that they think Bill's just having fun. Oh, I bet
(34:02):
he is, and it's not that serious. If Bill gets
down on one need to propose, can he get back up?
At this point, I'm going in, man, going in. It's
funny though it's funny. Also, it talks Bone about Jordan Hudson.
You're gonna see a Jordan Hudson, Jordan Hudson the book,
Jordan Hudson, the movie, Jordan Hudson, the brand, Jordan Hudson,
(34:26):
the perfume. Somebody says the movie. Yes, this is our
former boss at a salon says that's where he thinks
she is headed with this. He says, you either have
star quality or you don't. And I believe Jordan Hudson
has star quality. Remember mag what we thought during the
season you wouldn't hear much from her. Well, now we
have an entire article that feels like her. People probably
(34:49):
put all this stuff out there. By the way, Jordan
Hudson the perfume, I don't really want to spell like Bill,
not that I'm wearing perfume, but I feel like Werther's
crazy man crazy anyway, two crazy kids. Good luck to you,
but that that whole hubub is not going away unfortunately,
heels fans. They're on the cover of US Weekly, but
also drops in news stands. I believe the days after
(35:12):
the Clemson game. So that's great timing for this, I
mean on the when the good timing would be when
it comes out October, Sir Richmond would have been a
good time. That's probably when they want to drop that article. Yo,
can we wait till Stanford possibly? You go? There, you go?
All right, We've got to play this clip for y'all.
This is on Logan Paul's Impulsive podcast. Charlie Sheen is
(35:35):
doing a grand tour. He's got the book out. The
Netflix documentary Bone is out about just his life of
absolute debauchery. And in this book he claims to have
had a fun time with forty seven thousand women in
his life. And then he told.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
I can't even get one.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
What was Wilt's number? He's a ten thousand, right, twenty thousand? Yeah, okay,
so Charlie Sheen, where's that two hundred thousand? Charlie Sheen
says he has more than doubled up Wilt. I'm sure
all these numbers. I'm sure he's got like an abacus
at the house. He has counted this on every time.
Well he's over to the left. But anyway, he told
Logan Paul and his podcast about his first time Bony
(36:21):
Oh with a working girl named Candy when he was
apparently fifteen.
Speaker 8 (36:26):
Listen to this busher virginity here in this very city.
Speaker 9 (36:29):
Right I did, indeed, Yeah, to a woman named Candy.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Yeah. Where'd you find her? In the Yellow Pages? And
the yellow page?
Speaker 8 (36:37):
Yeah at fifteen? At fifteen, Yeah, what was the advertisement?
It was probably just you know, call Candy for a
good time.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
No, it was more like the whole category.
Speaker 9 (36:51):
He was like glamour girls or you know, midnight treat
I don't know, I'm just making.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Sure you were built for this.
Speaker 9 (36:58):
Maybe maybe, but it, uh yeah opened the door and
it was like you know, she as I say in
the dock and in the book, she was she was and.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Margaret with a master card swiper. There you go, Ann
Margaret with a master guard swiper. My other favorite tidbit
that came out about Charlie Sheet. I don't know if
it was with Logan Paul or in the documentary. I
don't know where it's from. He did so much cocaine
back in the day. Mac he got caught off by
the Mexican drug cartels.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
Even nigh.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
We are like, Bro, we don't have enough product. Man,
we got it. We gotta slow you down. We got
other customers. Bro, all right, seriously, but the Mexican drug
cartels say that's enough. What in the world were you doing?
What a mess of a life? I mean, he's lucky,
he's alive. I mean honestly, American Chopper says, watch the
Sine documentary on Netflix. Dude as a damn animal. Oh
my god. Anyway, let's see here. Uh what do we
(37:52):
have bony? Oh we gotta we We've got to Uh.
We got to mention the Coldplay couple. There's a there's
there's a story bone that you learned me to and
I went and looked it up. Remember that everybody remembers
the infamous Coldplay couple, right, the CEO of Astronomer and
then his hr woman and they're like hugging up on
(38:12):
each other in the songs. All of a sudden the
fancam goes on them and they like scatter and you know,
Chris Martin cole play. So what we might have caught
them doing something or whatever, and anyway, they've like, you know,
all kind of hot water. She lost her job over
this and all this stuff. Well, now a report comes
out bony that they were never even a couple, that
(38:34):
this woman's husband was cheating on her, that her and
her husband are separate anyway, but she wasn't even an
item with her boss. But my question is this sounds
like kind of damage control to a reputation, Like why
are you embracing like that with your boss if you're
not a couple. I didn't get I didn't get that part.
(38:54):
The other part that was interesting was the husband of
the woman that got caught, the actual husband. He was
at the concert with the new woman. He cheated on
her with another woman, and they were at the concert
at a different section, so they were somewhere else. Why
couldn't have cam get them? Why couldn't have cam get them,
so I don't You're right, I don't know it smells
(39:15):
fishy unless she was up. I mean I don't. And
you know who the source is. It's her ex husband.
Her ex husband or her husband who's getting divorced with
is saying, you know, hey, I cheated on her. She's
she wasn't with him. It just sounds like maybe he's
trying to feels bad for her because she got really
shamed over that stuff and lost her job and all that.
I mean, my man got shamed too. The CEO that
(39:36):
was a People magazine report. Also, Yeah, I'm not just
feels a little fishy. Feels a little fishy to me.
Bony got to give a shout out Ryder Cup week
Bone and we're gonna talk about the Ryder Cup with
Gary Williams formerly here of FNZ and Absolute Gulf Savant.
He's going to join us Bone to preview the Ryder Cup,
which I cannot wait for starting tomorrow that's coming up
(39:59):
at nine to twenty five, but the US already has
a win on the board. Bone shout out to Eli
Manning and SNL's Colin Jost in the celebrity Ryder Cup match. Bone.
They took down Brooklyn Beckham, David Beckham's son and Tony
Kuk coach in a US versus Europe. What a celebrity
Ryder Cup match?
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Coach?
Speaker 1 (40:19):
How about that? Baby? Oh my god, is that not random?
That is so random. Tony Kuk coach was in the
Jordan documentary. It's the part time we see it was he.
It's the part time we seen him in a while.
How yeah, I don't know. Wrongly got a bad boy.
I don't remember him like being involved Elch is there
mac and trying to get the crowd fired up the
other day. I don't know if he's a He might
be a guest of Smiley Kaufman, the golf media member
(40:42):
who went to LSU. But and Orgeron is on the grounds.
He was making gumbo the other night with Smiley Kaufman
and he was firing up the crown lead USA Champ weekend.
I gotta be right. I need him firing the fans up.
Go Tiger, that's I need, baby. That's the rout starts shanding,
Let's go Tigers. Like what is going on over there?
(41:03):
I'm all right now once again, I'm go on, Let's
go Tigers. He told Smiley coffin, you got a pemba
that gumbo? Been a pem of that gumbo? Really? Any
reason for Bone to get to do the ed ors Iran,
which is amazing. Any reason we have to take here,
do we not? Could you imagine him heckling the other
golfers back.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Come on, Rory, what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (41:23):
I need him just tearing into some euroboys, man, that's
what I need. I need that badly this weekend. Thomas,
Go Tigers. Justin Thomas. He didn't even like when I
said roll tiede Tojo Coajo. He really wouldn't like. Go
Justin Thomas says, what did you say to me, sir?
I said, go Tigers. I'll tell you this. Justin Thomas
has always been on my list Bone since I just
simply tried to yell out to him at Quail roll
(41:45):
Tide and he gave me me a mean look. He's
been on my list, but he is one of the
best damn ryder cup guys we got. He has been
good at that in his career. We need him. I
need him this weekend. We need to get this thing back. Anyway.
We'll talk to Gary about that at nine to twenty five.
Coming up next Jones, Angel of the Tar Hill Radio
Network Sports Radio ninety two seven w FNZ. As are
(42:07):
right time, We'll get you right right right back
