A lot Small Radio ninety two to seven wfn Z
Mac and Bone Show with you fitting on day two
of his staycation, it's his birthday. We will We tried
to bug him at six am and iPhone had us
on block basically Bone. They got this new feature where
we got to go through like some I don't know,

(00:39):
fake female AI secretary or something. But anyway, we hope
to But at the end of the show, maybe we
could set this up with Fiddy. Well, tell him we
want to say happy birthday, Flound and we'll sing it
to him. Someone said he has it set up. Only
DoorDash drivers can get through door dash in Seattle, Sally,
those are the only ones that can get through to him.

(01:00):
But anyway, I saw uh Fiddy's mom on Facebook today
posted his baby photos really oh yeah, and his high
school photos his problem as a graduation.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
There's a lot go o oh boy.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
My sources tell me he had more hair when he
came out to womb than he does.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Oh yeah, he definitely did. Oh look at all that hair.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
All right, I don't I don't want to post you
little bald man. Right, alright, let's do this, man. Let's
let's talk college football with a guy we love talking
college football with. He is Brad Crawford College footballcbssports dot com.
He's been covering the game for years. He loves it
like we do, and he's here to talk all about it.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Brad, have you been man? What's going on?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Bellas I'm doing?

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Let's say, uh, bright and sunny Wednesday morning here at Faville.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Beautiful, nice, beautiful, don't let us outside, so we'll take
your word for it over here. Yes, yes, hey man,
we've been talking about some situations here in the Carolinas
that aren't quite so sunny. Uh, the situation at Clemson
with Dabbo. Do you feel is he is he destined
to like, at best, be a you know, at best,

(02:12):
be a two loss team or a three loss team
or do you think he can adjust the way he
does things and get back to the mountaintop again?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Like, how do you feel about this?

Speaker 4 (02:22):
It's not gonna be a Clemson, Man, I don't you know.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I'm I'm starting to see similarities of Davosweeney's ten year
or two Mike Gundy in Oklahoma State, and we saw
what happened there yesterday, and he was there for two decades.
Davosween's been in Death Valley a long time and obviously
has two titles and a bunch of ACC championships to
show for. But he's not changing his ways. You know,

(02:46):
late and Nick Saban's career at Bama, he was starting
to change a little bit. He was signing some guys
out of the portal and adjusting the ni L and
Dabosween just refuses. Man. But I am stunned that Clemson
has played the way it has this season. If there
was a playoff lot before the season, I thought it
was Clemson in Ohio State. I really did. One of

(03:06):
those two seasons has just fell off the map.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Crazy, Brad.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Do you ever see them firing Dabo or would be
a situation where he kind of steps down like we've
seen so many coaches do in college sports. Whali and
he does TV or whatever.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, I think the only way Clemson would fire Davos
Queene is is if they got so bad, you know
where the ad would meet with Dabo and basically offer
him a chance to step down, and Davos seborn as
he is, would say, no, I'm going to finish it out,
and well, no, you're not. That would be the only
way I think it happened.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
That's how it happened.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
At Oklahoma State's League of Mike Gundy, they pretty much
gave him a behind the scenes opportunity to step away
at the end of the year, and he said, no,
I'm continuing to coach, and they said, no, we have
the money you're you're not doing that. So Davos tween
he's buyout Fellas right now is about sixty five million.
Clemson does not have that kind of money to buy out.
So I think Dabo's there for as long as he

(04:03):
wants to be.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Hey, Brad, you wrote a piece might have been last week.
I think about uh about Shane Beemer and just kind
of the whole concept of would Virginia Tech come come
calling to him? Would he ever consider going back to Blacksburg?
What are you talk to us about that? Your knowledge
of kind of that situation, like, do you think that

(04:24):
could ever happen?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah? I talked to some high end boosters in both
Columbia and Blacksburg last week to that story for CBS,
and you know, both of them have Saily told me,
while while Virginia Tech want Shane Beemer, the only way
he would leave South Carolina is if the fans or
the money there in Columbia pushed him out, and I
don't think that's the case. I still think that he
has the majority of fans there.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
At South Carolina.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I know this season has been kind of a rocky star,
but I mean, let's face it, before the year, Osmaker's
had the game Cocks at about seven wins and that's
about how that team has looked through four weeks now.
I'm I'm a little surprised.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
The offense is as horrid.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
As it is. Offensive line, Laura Seller's not playing well.
That's a bit surprising, and and Shane Beemer has kind of,
you know, been put under the microscope the last couple
of years because a few of these offensive coordinator hires
have not been all that great. So Mike Schutless still
four games into his senior I think the game Cocks
figured out, and I don't see Shane Beemer leading for

(05:24):
Virginia Tech.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
There you go, Bone, you have you have put a
smile on t Bone's face. I'm not nervous about it
at all. But I'm not saying I'm not nervous either, Brad.
Another guy that we talk about quite a bit here,
as you know, is Bill Belichick. What's your assessment of
it so far. Do you think it's gonna be one
of these situations where in time he can figure this out.
Or is Bill Belichick simply maybe not built for the

(05:47):
college game.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yeah, I'm not surprised man that at this start for you.
And see I said back in June that I thought
the tar Heels would lose their first three games against
power four teams, and they got blown out by TCU,
blown out by UCF, and likely going to get blown
out by a mad Clemson team here in a couple
of weeks at Keena Stadium. But I mean, I just
didn't like the roster heading into the year. I mean, sure,

(06:10):
you added a South Alabama quarterback transfer after spring, but
a lot of your best returning players went elsewhere. Bo Atkinson,
Ohio State, you know, they lost a defensive tackle to
Texas who's tall as starter and impact player. So the
roster just is not good enough right now to win
eight or nine games in the ACC. I mean, I

(06:31):
do think Belichick figures it out. Maybe it might not
be Bill Belichick might be his son taken over eventually,
but this has not been a surprise to me. And
I still think the Tar Hills are a team that
could get to bully eligibility this season, and that was
always the goal in the year one.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Anyway.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Brad Crawford with US Covers College Football, CBS sportscbssports dot Com.
So Brad, now with Clemson, I mean even Dabbo, you know,
said the other day, all right, we ain't win the
championship this year, but there are still to accomplish. So
if Clemson's out of the championship, picture on behalf of
the ACC, the one that, just like you, I thought

(07:07):
was a lock. I actually picked them to win the title.
My god, I whipped on that. How does the ACC
look in your mind in terms of true national title contenders? Now, like,
would you say Miami, Miami and Florida State? What would
you say? And how many teams are true playoff contenders
in the ACC?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Now?

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Yeah, Miami is my number one team after four weeks.
I've got them power rated above everybody else. Defensively, they
are possibly the best team in the country. I know
they're not rated number one right now in total defense
and stuff, but man, that defensive line with Ruben.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Bain is playing at elite level, Carson Beck loops the part,
and Shannon Dawson's offense, and I think there's gonna be
three ACC playoff teams and nobody was picking that, you
know a few months ago. I think Florida State is
going to be a playoff team, and I think Georgia Tech.
They have the schedule now possibly that they're going to
be eleven and zero, going to play Georgia in that

(08:03):
robbery weekend, and then Florida State and Miami play here
in a couple of weeks. So the loser of that
game might not get to.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Charlotte and might have to be eleven to one at
large playoff team. So I think the ACC is going
to be a big stealer of sorts. And if they
get three teams in, that means the Big twelve, like
we only.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Get in one, how about that?

Speaker 3 (08:21):
But probably Texas Tech the way look the way we
look at it right now, Brad We're doing a topic
later on in this hour, and we're going to do
a hybrid ranking of our top five ACC SEC teams
as one and as I was going through the SEC
teams today, it is really sort of hard to figure
out and rank those SEC teams. Who has been the

(08:42):
most impressive to you so far of all those ranked
SEC teams.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
It's so hard, man, it is. You know, I thought
Texas would be the best SEC team heading into the year,
and I probably have them five or six right now. LSU,
I think, heading into this weekend, LSU and Georgia are
my two teams to watch from the SEC that I
think are national championship capable. LSU's defense is better than
this offense right now. Nobody thought that heading into the year.

(09:08):
Garrett nus Meyer maybe hasn't found all of his right
targets yet because of the knee injury he has suffered.
But right now, Georgia, I think winning at Tennessee and
Gunner Stott and completing several fourth down throws in that
game that showed me that Jordan a little bit further
along than maybe I thought they would be at this point.
And then Ole Miss, I mean, they've got two quarterbacks

(09:30):
that are playing really well right now in Chambliss the
Fair State transfer and then Austin Simmons who replaced Jackson
Dark and they host LSU this weekend. So the winner
of that old Miss LSU game I think is the
top challenger to Georgia in the SEC.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
What do you think, Brad up the subplot of LSU
Ole Miss where Lane's daughter Landry puts out on social
to picture of her an LSU linebacker Wit Weeks lets
the world know they're dating on the start of LSU
all Miss week Man. Only in the SEC do we
get something juicy like that, Brad, I was gonna say, just.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Another SEC storyline, right, that's just this craziness.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Man, And it comes out when there's an ESPN special
on Lane Kiff and that airs tonight. Part of the promotion.
That show looks good to man, by the way, it
really does. All right, what do you think about Georgia Bama?
What you got to pick in that one? Are you
still wrestling with it?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Man? I'm I'm going Georgia to cover Georgia minus three.
I'm I'm twenty six and eleven against the spread best
at CBS this year, So I would I would tell
my pigs, but I just seen Georgia at home night
game environment, and and I'm not sure about Bama. The
last two weeks they've looked really good against ULM and Wisconsin.
But man, that's hard to state lost open the year.

(10:46):
It still sings a little bit for me, and Bama's
going to have to prove it. I guess an elite
team before I'm ready to, you know, go all in
back on kailing the board.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah, I think that's a good way.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Plus that Wisconsin win, I mean that looks that doesn't
look you know, he's impressive even a week or two later.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
But Simpson's playing well. Oh, it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
It's a big week coming up this weekend, and I
am now gonna monitor Brad Crawford's picks bone because after
last weekend, I need some winners. After last weekend, we
have similar records, Brad, except reverse ours. All right, man, Well, hey,
keep picking them, everybody.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Brad Crawford.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
You gotta read his stuff CBS sports dot com and
I must follow at b Crawford two four seven on
Twitter slash X.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Thank you, Brad, appreciate you, man.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Hey, thanks?

Speaker 3 (11:31):
All right, there we go that's Brad Crawford. You had
the uh, the thing with Lane Kiffin's daughter Landry and
LSU star linebacker went weeks being a couple and being
announced that thing has grown. We said yesterday. Lane Kiffin
responded by saying, take the over. I guess. Lane also
then was like posting a picture of Landry.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
As a baby with him or whatever.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Always an old misfan, Yeah, it's always an old missing.
And then the family dog on Twitter, Bone Juice Kiffin
got the second most famous dog in the South behind Mabel.
Juice Kiffin got involved by tweeting about it yesterday, which
had me dying.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Man.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
So clearly the Kiffin family Bone is having some fun.
And I do want people to know before you did
the eating popcorn, jiff.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yes it was. It was Juice right there. So excited
to see what happens.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Anyway, And there's a rumor out there that Landry will
be sitting with Whitweek's family during the game.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I don't know if that's true. Shouldn't she be sitting
with the Kiffins.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Where's Juice sitting? Juice Jews get.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Field access like he's Mike the Tiger.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
He's been down there before. What if Mike the Tiger
gets him? Though, we'll have to ask. He's the mascot expert.
They'll know they did away with Mike the Tiger though, right,
because they brought back fake Mike the Tiger last year
and it went horribly. So I don't think they do
live Mike the Tiger anymore. I thought they still did.
I thought they got rid of live Mike the Tiger.
You just remember that tiger they imported from UH Florida

(12:56):
last year and even like one like it wasn't legit.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
It was like a knockoff tiger. Look that out of
the bone. He looked that up. Did you dream that story?

Speaker 4 (13:02):
No?

Speaker 2 (13:03):
I believe it's true.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I could tell how DP got into a fine Bob
shows lately when we come back Panthers and expectations. What's
a realistic goal for the next the next four games?
Sports Radio w FZ, like.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
We was just watching the film.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
He plays.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
He don't play like a safety. He plays defense like
a d Linsan or a linebacker like I've seen him
set the edge on the offensive tackle and blue the
offensive tackle back. So to have a guy like.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
That on our defense, that's as safety is a big
fan of Field.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Is he that's the safety that we're playing a.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Little crazy almost, Yeah, him and Latin. I don't know
how because they both like skin, so I don't know
how to be hitting like that, but yeah they they
definitely some screw got some little screws.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Oh the words of princely whu man Miellen, who is original?
You do not know what that man is gonna say
or tweet. You have no idea. But giving some love
to merrig and giving some love to Leathan Ransom. Leathan
Ransom four tackles in a forced fumble, thirty four snaps
a career high. Marrik was all over to dann Field

(14:16):
puting hits on people, Bijon in the flat twice, Pennix
out there on the sideline, and then of course the
big hit on the Blitz in the pocket that set
the tone early. And he's right. I did notice that
bone when when they move him, when they put take
they move him over to the box, either as a
third linebacker or sometimes they take Wallace off, and he's
kind of like the second linebacker and Ransom comes on

(14:37):
at safety. He's got to get up in the muck.
And I did notice that he was up there basically
an outside linebacker position, took on a tackle and set
the edge. He is an animal, man, He really isn't.
Ransom is an animal. He's a junior animal. He's an
animal in training. Is he what we wanted Jeremy Chin
to be in this defense? The versatile chess piece that

(14:58):
you're comfortable with here? There? Other team can't figure him
out as is he right now playing at that level
that we thought Jeremy Chin should be playing that here? Yeah,
I think we thought Jeremy Chin was gonna play like
well he played. I still contend his best position for
us was rookie year outside linebacker. Yeah, you know, but
he has gone elsewhere, Bone and everybody else Washington, who

(15:19):
is it now? Raiders they use him, you know, as
this similar sort of trapety safety to Merrik. For whatever reason,
Avero did not see him like that, you know. But
it's interesting because this is the way that other teams
used him. The Panthers let Chin go never could get
a regular spot and actually hand picked Merrik. And it's
interesting Chin replaced Merrick in Vegas, which is an interesting

(15:41):
dynamic there. But yeah, I think there's comparable stuff there.
I don't really understand why they couldn't make it work
with him here. You know, I don't know if they
just I think they just viewed him Bone as a
guy that does a little bit of everything, but not
you know what I mean. They couldn't see one role
for him. But Marrek loves getting down, man, he loves it.

(16:01):
You had the snapcount numbers on Ransom the other day too,
write and how much he played thirty four. That was
his most by far. He hadn't played more than twelve
snaps in the first two games. He played nine to twelve,
and Princely snaps were a career high.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Nick Gordon played fifty six.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
They had him playing rundowns and then on pass downs
they moved him inside next to Princelely, which was cool.
So I'm excited. I like what the young guys are doing.
I still want to get the vets back right Wharton,
we'll see if he is healthy this week. We're getting close,
and then obviously Pat Jones. But these young guys, I'm
glad to see them playing well, man, And you see it.
You see the flashes from those boys. All right, let's

(16:38):
talk about it, Bone, Let's talk about these next four games,
because there's two things Panther fans want to talk about
this week thirty to nothing shut out of the stinky
birds and the fact that their next four opponents Bone
are all winnable. They're all losable too, sadly, but they're
all winnable. It's teams that What did somebody say earlier

(17:02):
in the show? We are fighting in our weight class
over the next four games, and I hope we could
actually prove to be the champion of this bantam weight
or whatever fly weight, whatever weight class we're in, Bonie,
what do y'all think? And I'm asking Bone, I'm asking
everybody out there, it's a Panther fan listening. What do
you think is a good realistic expectation slash goal for

(17:26):
these next four games? And if you don't know for sure,
it's at New England Sunday home against Miami, home against
Dallas and then at the Jets.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
What is I.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Think we dabbled in this conversation yesterday, Bonie, you might
have mentioned two two wins.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Is that where you're going with this?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
I could see them going three and three, but the
topic was realistic, right, So I'm going to go two
and two in the next four games. That's what I think.
I definitely see a path of three and one and
now all four winnable. Well, I'm going to try to
be conservative Bone on this, and I'm gonna say two
and two to try to give myself some kushing here.
I think, like I think, anything less than two and

(18:05):
two is going to be a disappointment though, after what
they did last week, after how good that defense played
last week. But not every game is gonna go that way, Bone,
Not every game are we going to be able to
be that conservative in the second half with the lead,
and not every game we're gonna have that sort of
lead and stuff like that. Not every game will be
able to just throw for one twenty one and win

(18:28):
by I have a feeling, Bone, we might not throw
for one twenty one and win by thirty.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Again. No, no, no, it's probably.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
But I actually think that the Jets game might be
a kind of difficult there at New York because they
played Pittsburgh well lost, They played Tampa down to the
very end. They had a rough go against Buffalo. But
I think the Jets on the road, not that they
can't win it, but that'll be kind of top Let's
rank them then, too, let's do that. I think two
and two is anything less than two and two. I

(18:55):
think we're going to be disappointed in it, right I would,
I agree, But you get to two and two and
some people are saying you got to win three of
these games. This guy said, you ain't winning me over
unless you beat three at ease, scrubs three and ones
in play. Unfortunately one and three is in play. I
would be floored, Bone if we went Ozero and four.
I'd be surprised if we're because we have not been

(19:17):
the most consistent thing through three weeks. I'd be surprised
too if we were consistent enough to beat all four.
Even though these teams are far from world beaters, I
would agree with you the Jets are the hardest game.
It sounds funny to say that, doesn't it of the
other games, but you're right in terms of like signs

(19:39):
of life, I feel like they have shown it in
the two games that you mentioned, more than the other
teams have. The last thing I want to see, Bone
is Aaron Glenn doing that weird strut on the sideline
during our game. Although maybe maybe he'll do it and
we'll beat him too. Did you see the video they
put earth wind in fire behind it. That was so good.
Hi ran some Max. So I did have the Jets

(19:59):
as the hardest. I agree with you on that. I
had the Pats as the second hardest because here's how
I looked at it. Dang, no, here's how I look
at it. Though they played great at home against Atlanta,
they have not played so well on the road yet
against Jacksonville Arizona, two teams that I don't think are
great either. So I put the two road games I
thought as the hardest of those. I mean, listen, I

(20:20):
love my man Bricey. He's only got what is it,
two road wins yep, so you know it's like two
and thirteen or something like that, two and fourteen or
something like that. So yeah, they have not necessarily been
road warriors. I also think the other two teams are
worse than the Jets and the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Is that crazy to say? Flown?

Speaker 6 (20:38):
I mean, I mean, Dallas has won a game, and
they've got Dak Prescott.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
CD the center and the guard out. This just then,
this Parsons fellow was kind of important in hindsight.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Jared, the Giants almost beat them the Dolphin.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Yeah, the Giants did almost beat them, even though they
won that game. The Dallas defense is an abomination, it
appears to me terror and the Dolphins offense appears to
I mean, oh.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
The Dolphins stink. That one is clearly the worst of
the of the games they play.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Dolphins the easiest, you think, But I could get down
with bone on Cowboys being the second easiest.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Now.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
The only thing is bone Cowboys been a bugaboo for
us in these regular season matchups. But I think I
would rank them the same way that you did the
road and home. Plus just how bad Dallas and Miami
have looked. New head coach Ceedee Lamb might not play.
As we just talked about Micah Parsons no longer there,
who's been a problem for us. How many times in

(21:35):
Micah Parton's back basically put Bryce in a baby Bjorn
the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
So I just I don't think.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
I don't I don't look as Dallas as I have
the last couple of years. I think they're beatable. I
think New England on the road on paper is a
tougher one than Dallas, just in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
I don't know. Drake May.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
It's interesting because Drake may is slinging it.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
In terms of passing yards.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
I think I think I've read fifth most passing yards
and five touchdowns one pick like he's. But the problem
is he ain't getting any protection at all. Now you
could also say.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Less protection than a high school prom. Oh Man Flather
closed out with a zing Man union academy. I was working,
so I haven't had idea problem. I'm not confused clouds
like I wasn't there. I heard stories though, I heard
stories about it. He saw on a Facebook.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Just scrolling while working that Saturday night and they having fun,
all right, But he is. They are twenty eighth in
a cube quarterback sack percentage there, Bone, so that's the thing.
But we have we're lowest in quarterbacks pressures pressure percentage
and lowest in Sacksville one stinking sack and a spy
a rookie in Princely.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
So I don't know what happens there, stinky versus stinky. Yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
What gives out in that matchup. But I will say this.
You brought up the penalties the turnovers Bone. They are
giveaways per game twenty ninth, penalties per game twenty seventh,
so they may they made. You know, everybody talks about
band of Falcons were in a game against us. They

(23:15):
may keep they may hurt themselves against us as well
on Sunday. Yeah, they had thirteen penalties through three games
a year ago with girod Mayo. They have twenty seven
now with with Mike Rable through three games, and five
more turnovers than they had at this point a year ago.
So turnovers and not disciplined. You thought that that'd be
something that Rabel would clean up. But it's gone the
opposite there. They're already not enamored with him out the

(23:37):
fan base, they're already annoyed with U. With Vrabel back,
it took three weeks for the Pey the season star. Yeah,
they said this is the hard ass we need here. Man.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Now, all of a sudden they're out.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Ac says, uh, let's see here, it's a low bar
to jump over. But that was one of flounders best
lines ever.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Oh that was hilarious. You guys bring the best out
in me.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Oh how about to Oh now the negative guys have
to come out. I feel like the negative guys bone
have been kept, you know fairly. I wanna say quiet
because beebop has texted five hundred times, but I feel
like there's been very little of the negative guys kind
of getting through. Maybe they take took Monday and Tuesday off.
Uh seven oh four number, Uh Mac and Bone. This
is the funniest segment ever. You guys are talking about

(24:22):
bad teams. I guarantee you every one of those teams
and their fan bases are looking at the Panthers saying,
we get in a dub. Then there's another one nine
to eight oho number. You guys are killing me. There
is no way the Panthers have even a five hundred record.
They got lucky last week. They caught the Falcons on
a bad week. We said two and two, not four

(24:43):
and oh. There, I got them mighty. We had them
as average for four games five hundred. We did not
have them going four and oh.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Year.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
You know why I'm changing Mike because of that guy.
I'm going three to one. Now you show him boning
one more, show those guys one more texts. I'm going
four and oh and guess what I see a buffalo?
You show those guys boney. I mean, listen, you throw
in the fact that Turk Wharton they said two to
four weeks on Turk were past two weeks now, so
I guess this week or next they probably get Turk
off back. Cocher could be as early as next week,

(25:13):
so we might start to get some of these key
guys back as well for this stretch. I don't know, man.
I watched the Panthers, and I know some people say
stop going back to last year, Max Starkham, but they
showed progress last year. You go back to last year, Bony,
they proved capable of beating the Falcons. They prove capable
of shutting out the Falcons here this year. They won

(25:34):
four of their last nine last year and three of
their losses Bone were one score at down to the wire,
losses to either the two Super Bowl teams or the
division champ in the Bucks, and then you throw even
this year, Bone. I thought last week they really proved
if they play a clean game, what they're capable of doing.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
I'm not saying they go beat everybody by thirty.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
I just think this team, now that you see how
they play when the game is clean, I think we
realized they were beating themselves those first two games.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
She actually looks to be an improved team.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
I don't want to you know I want to call
them out too much, but that Arizona game, in hindsight,
if they don't dig that ten nothing hole bony, I mean,
that game was there for us, and I think these
games will be there for us as well. I think
saying they go to and two is nothing crazy. I
don't understand why people out there in the audience could
get offended by the Panthers who just beat the Falcons

(26:24):
thirty to nothing, going too and two during this stret
I don't understand why it triggers these jackasses. Hurricane Insurance
brings up a good point that how did anyone even
have one iota of happiness on this radio show? There's
there's happiness, suckers. They're like vacuum cleator. They try to
take our happiness right out of here. You ain't kidding.

(26:45):
It's the damn happy police man. Oh we got some happy.
I got an apb out right now. There's some happiness
on that ninety two point seven Right now. I'm coming over.
I need backup, Come over with me, like you know
what I mean? And then one texter one happiness police texter.
He then the next guy's over to is backup. Then
the damn sheriff of the Happiness police gets called in.
It's like, man, we actually got some hope. The narrative

(27:06):
has changed, and it's not like and I'll say this,
we have we have located the happy guys, nowhended, we've
apprehended Dab. The streets are safe. The streets are safe
now from delusional happiness.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
This.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
I'll let this text you say it right here. Nine
to zero number guys.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
I do find it funny that these guys are giving
you such crap. It's not like you came on here
saying this team is going to be five and two
going into the Buffalo game exactly. And you know what,
I will say this, And maybe I should have led
with this instead of the guys that triggered me and
made me mad. But maybe I should have led with
the fact BONI. I have seen a few of those
on Twitter this week, and I don't know if we

(27:45):
have anything on the text line, but I have seen
we're gonna be five and two going into the Buffalo game.
But I just I still don't think we're I'm not
willing to say we're there yet where we beat every
bad team, Like I you know what I'm saying I'm
not willing to go to that now. Zero X says,
is it a trap game for Buffalo? Talk about that tomorrow.
It sounds like he does not have zero expectations, though

(28:08):
it sounds like he's putting some expectations on there. This texture,
says I tweeted about five and two. It's more of
wishful thinking. Yeah, I mean, could you just imagine? Well,
I say, can you imagine what that environment will be like?
First of all, it's going to have a lot of
a lot of Shopaz wearing Bill's fans with the dang

(28:28):
buffalo wing things on their head, you know what I mean.
It's gonna have a lot of that, and it's gonna
have guys jumping through tables at tailgates. But it will
also have the Panther fans that were there. Can you
imagine the fire there they would have if we entered
that game fifth at five and two. Again, I'm not
predicting that. I'm just allowing myself to dream a little bit.
That would be amazing dreaming with you. You know what

(28:49):
I'll tell I'll take two. Wait, but that's my Sidney
Sweety dream Hold one dream Jade, the channel which setting
yourself down over there, Bony.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
I mean right now, I'm elated.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Just thinking of what if we beat the Patriots, have
a two game winning streak going back home?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Like, can you?

Speaker 3 (29:07):
I just I think it's been four years since we
have played a game at home, Bony. Where we and
I'm not talking about starting the season oh and oh,
but I'm talking about like since the season started being
five hundred or above for a home game. I think
you got to go back to the season. Remember where
we started three and oh, I think it was twenty
twenty one. Yes, and we were also geeked, including Thomas

(29:30):
Davis who got on the NFL network and said, this
team is better, it's more talented than our super Bowl team.
Then I took a week, Then I took a week off.
They played Dallas and Willie p took over and what
the hell after that? And the rest is just strik
You know what I've noticed on the text line. I
don't want to psychoanalyze all these people that are texting in,
but there's some people that just I think their whole
shtick is how bad the Panthers are, how unhappy they are.

(29:53):
I don't think they know what to do if the
Panthers might actually be all right. I don't think they
know how to to handle that. They're scared of what
may happen because their own takes will then be irrelevant.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
They don't know what to do right now.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Their whole identity is being the negative Panther fans. It's
kind of like remember when the Red Sox broke their
drought and won the World Series? I know you love
talking about that both thanks and a lot of Cubs too,
and a lot of people out there you go, a
lot of people ask like what is their identity now?
Like the Red Sox fans were just the miserable fans
that were cursed and all that, Like, what's their identity
now that they're happy? And then for Cubs fans, the
whole identity was the lovable losers. They're so loyal and

(30:30):
fun out in the bleachers and all that. So like,
are you saying that these people's whole identity and purpose
will be gone if their football team is let me
check this good? Yeah? Like there, if they're good, what
miserable human yell about? They're good? What is Bebop gonna do?
Because is he gonna have to go like to work

(30:52):
and do some stuff like, what's he gonna do all day?

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Now?

Speaker 3 (30:54):
How does be Bob? I know, let's not get crazy now,
all right, that's not get crazy. How does Beebob do
in happiness? How does he do dealing with happiness?

Speaker 2 (31:03):
I need to know. Is that something he can revel in?

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Or no, I don't know's there's a number of Texters
that I don't know what they're going to do. Oh man,
these are Panther fans, by the way, He's are the
Panther fans that I think are afraid to be happy.
This textas says, the Panthers identity is to choke in
the big game. We don't play in them any bad.
When do we play in big games? Yeah, we don't
play in big games begging to get you back in

(31:27):
the house. You just had Matt Millan and the King's
announcer on a game. No offense to them. By the way,
that was the one thing that Panther fans and Falcon
fans could agree on last weekend is it was a
bad sign when Matt Miller is calling your game, very
bad sign. When we come back, we're gonna do a
hybrid ranking of ACC and SEC teams. The top five
ranking Mac has one.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I have one.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
This might be one of the hardest tasks I've ever
had to do because there are so many teams that
could be in this top five. Sports Radio ninety seven WFNZ.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
During that time, Miami was so damn good and also
you know, irritated a lot of people with style of
play and whatnot that it was. It was like a
special place in time that is like ingrained that everybody's
head and the memories of some really dominant play with
some arrogant moments, right and some you know, I mean,
but some really physical, high level play of some they

(32:29):
were characters. I mean, those guys are iconic in so
many ways. So I mean, it's nostalgia theater right in
this country. Now everybody wants back, back back. Well, we
don't want to go back. We want to go forward.
You know, we want to go We want to take
the principles and values of that brand of football, but
we want to take it forward.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
That is Mario Cristobal, head coach at the you talking
about the whole concept of the you being back, and
that is his take on it. Yeah, we respect it.
We want to be like they were in the old days.
But we want to put our spin on it. That's
on Kevin Clark's podcast, Boney. I can't believe I'm doing this.

(33:10):
I'm all in on the dam Kaynes, I am all
in on that Meathhead, Crista Ball and the Kynes. I
can't believe I'm doing this, bone man. But anyway, let's
get to it. Let's get to it. We have decided
on an idea, an idea here to kind of, you know,
take the two conferences and the power four in the
south East here and try to figure out between the

(33:33):
two who are the five strongest teams. Also, I realized
maybe this will create some arguments. How many teams would
the ACC have in if we put a hybrid conference
together of the ACC and the SEC. How many would
the ACC put in the top five? And who thinks
we're full of crap? Feel free to text in seven
oh four, five, seven oh nine, six, ten. So bone man,

(33:56):
who is your number five on this ACC SEC Eyebrand
top five? First of all, I spent about an hour
on this, and I had about twenty different combinations because
there are so many teams now you could pick from
a lot of them are in the SEC. By the way,
they're all these ranked teams, they're all interchangeable. But this
is the five I landed on, or my number five
I landed on. Ole Miss was my number five. I

(34:19):
was real close to doing that too. That was a statement.
I was really really impressed. I just watched tu Wayne
carve up Duke. They've been a really good program and
ole Miss completely absolutely demoralize them offensively and defensively. I'm
basing it off of mac nott preseason hypen expectations. What
I've seen so far in this season. Ole Miss completely

(34:41):
destroyed Tanya that back up with a backup quarterback, Trinidad
Chambliss has played unbelievable. He's played better than Simmons did.
Simmons was turning it over early in the season he
got hurt. Chambliss has taken it to next level. I
love Lane Kiffin. He is an offensive genius. His system
I am con is going to get the best out
of every damn quarterback they have, and I want to

(35:04):
see what happens. I think they have a definite chance
to beat LSU on Saturday Night. I left ole Miss
out of my top five, though barely barely. Bony I
got LSU. Now this spot is on the line. Let
the coaches know, let Brian Kelly and Laye know. This
spot is on the line bone this weekend. In my
top five accy SEC rankings, but I'm going LSU, I
think the offense is sluggish, but man, that defense looks

(35:26):
to be completely fixed at LSU.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Man, So I went LSU at five. Who do you
go with at four? Bony?

Speaker 3 (35:32):
I went Florida State at number four. That win over Alabama.
I know that they aren't quite what they've been, but
still it wasn't even just they snuck out a win
over Alabama. They much like Old missed into Tuwayane. Not
the same programs, of course, but Florida State completely embarrassed
Bamba almost set their program basically a blaze on Kaitlin
de Boor. Florida State is number four my left, Yeah, Alabama,

(35:56):
There's only so much to judge Flida State by right now.
It's tough because they played in Alabama and then they
had basically a few weeks off. But Alabama two scrubs
in a bye week since then, and Costellanos is injured
right now a little worried about that ankle going for
him going against Virginia on Friday sounds like he's going
to be able to give it a go. But yeah,
that Florida State performs, Alabama's looked pretty damn good. Actually,

(36:17):
since that game, they've actually woken up. I thought Florida
State beat him into Trench's bone. I thought we found
out Costellanos is perfect for the gust males On system,
and they have a bunch of new skill guys Bone
that they've added that just can make play. So I've
actually got Florida State at number four as well, Bone Man.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
I got the office in there. I'm in on the
Knowles and the Canes. Man.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
You could tell I'm desperate Bone for acc greatness because
these two teams are never high on my list, but
I got a root for him now, and I think
they're both legit.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
All right, Who do you have at number three, Bony?

Speaker 3 (36:51):
I have Texas A and m My number three that
went over Notre Dame, really telling the gauze because Notre
Dame already had a loss very very close walls on
the Nord to Miami. You know how desperate Notre Dame was.
They had one loss last year to Northern Illinois and
they just completely rolled and got hungry off of that.
For them to go to South Bend in primetime and

(37:12):
to win it with their quarterback making plays, we know
that Elco defense will always be solid. That to me
showed me a lot. That's one of the most impressive
wins of the season. I think, even though the Notre
Dame has two losses, it is to two really good
teams A and M. I don't normally tout A and M,
but I have them number three right now. Yeah, I
have left A and M out of my rankings, but

(37:32):
it's hard not to leave some teams out of this.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
There's so many good SEC teams. Man.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
I have actually our next guest is not going to
be happy. I've actually left Missoo. I've left the fighting
Willie Peas off this list as well, and I thought
really long and hard about putting them on there. I
realized bone that you are too angry to put Missouri
on this list. Well, think about it, but they are
legit bro those two running backs and Probuola. That is

(37:58):
a filthy rush attack. Though you could make a case
that Vandy as a case in some of these there's
other teams I left out that I was explain in
a minute but yeah, I put Tennessee at three. By
the way, did you and I know they have a loss,
and I know people that hate Tennessee are gonna be
I canneby. I was so impressed by them in their
loss to Georgia. Now, obviously there are questions about the

(38:20):
defense that you can ask with the amount of points
they gave up. But Joey Aguilar Bone, this is such
an upgrade from Nico. Even with the two mistakes against Georgia,
he kept coming back time and time again. I think
Tennessee is legit. I think they're a playoff team. Also,
if you look at their schedule, Bone, it's one of
the most manageable in the SEC the rest of the way.
So I have Tennessee at three, with apologies to A

(38:43):
and M and the fighting Willie Peace. I had about
ast combinations that had Tennessee kind of in that five range,
but I landed on old mits though I can't really
argue that. To me, there are so many teams that
are kind of on the same plane, and Tennessee is
one of that balanced Dude, like they're at the top.
They don't have the great teams like the Georgia teams were.
There for a while and the Alabama teams were, but

(39:05):
holy crap, it's and it makes for great matchups every
damn week Man. My number two team MAC is an
SEC team, and I did not include on this list Oklahoma, LSU, Texas, Bama, missoo.
But I went Georgia Bulldogs at number two. What they
did on the road at Tennessee, you have Tennessee number three,
So for them to go in there and rally like

(39:28):
they did, I don't think it's as great a Georgia
team as we've seen before, but certainly for this list
right now, Georgia is number two. The man they call
runner Stockton, I think we now know he can throw
it a little bit more too. That throwing performance was
an eye open that passed to London Humphries on fourth down,
dropping it in a bucket for a touchdown. They had
to have it. That took some onions. Man, I I

(39:50):
I think George is the best in the SEC. They're
my number two also Bony, and I expect them to
beat Bama this weekend as well, although to of the game,
but it is between the hedges. I think the defense
has young guys that are just the next crop of
Georgia Stars. I think their past catchers are underrated. I
think the running game is going to get back to
Georgia football. What they run fifty something times against Tennessee

(40:13):
fifty five times. I think like they're going to get
back to owning the trenches with the run game, I
think this year.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
So I think we have in Georgia too.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
We may have landed on the same number one and
to here because my number one ACC is the Clemson
tom Just kidding.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
The Miami Hurricanes back on with you.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
I'm normally a doubter, a skeptic, I mock, do we
back boys, But I am in on this Miami team
even at the point.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Now you maybe put your you up. Boney puts your
you up.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
And Mike Garvan has been sort of lovable here during
this little run.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Ah, although.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
It's all about you. That's right, baby, Bony. We back,
all right, we back. Actually I never like the Canes
once in my life, so I'm here for the first time.
I'm sorry, man, it's shameless. The Clemson Tigers had Peede
down their damn leg, Bony, so the ACC who else
they got? I think they have two national title contenders in.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Miami and FSU.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
I don't know if I'm gonna regret this because I
never thought I would buy into Chrystobaul bone. Carson Beck
is that dude to quarterback. He's playing like he was
when two years ago at Georgia. The pass catchers like
Tony and those guys are versatile CJ. Daniels as well.
The running backs. They got a couple of hammers in
the trenches. I think they're the best team in the

(41:32):
trenches both sides of the ball. I think you saw
that bone against Florida. The defense man. They completely revamped
this defense and turned it around for better or worse.
I don't know if I'm gonna end up looking like
an idiot. I think Miami's the number one in the ACC.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Miami might be the number one team in the damn country.
They could.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
Honestly, I left Texas out because I'm worried about arch LSU.
They could again be in that five spot for me
like you had them. But I don't know how if
that win now is over Clemson, like I need to
see more of LSU within the conference. Oklahoma probably would
have made this list, but the Materier injury. I just

(42:11):
put him out there for now because they's not gonna
be there for a month. So if he's healthy, that's different.
But the injury, I removed Oklahoma from the top five. Yeah,
we'll see if he can get back for Texas. Texas
two and a half weeks. Uh, some people think that
they might be able to get him out there.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
We know he's tough.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
He played over three quarters of that game with a
broken thumb on his throwing hand. He is a bad
dude man. By the way, shout out to Georgia Tech.
I had them on my list, but I just could
not put them over Florida State or some of these.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
That yas I like.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
I still like Louisville, Okay, And we'll see what happens
at pitt this week four and a half. They're still
is going to start to get tougher. I still think
Louisville could be a player. But no, and and I
let like to my next group of teams. But my
next four the SEC like the teams you're talking about Missouri,
I didn't even put A and M in there me
you know, Van the Oklahoma like I would not neither

(43:01):
one of.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Us put Texas.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
I just think cause Archie, Yeah, neither one of US
put Texas, but the talent they have on that defense.

Speaker 6 (43:07):
No respect for Georgia Tech. By the way, we just
talked about that.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
Eyah. I would you put them in a top five
with the CC.

Speaker 6 (43:15):
Probably not top five, but I think they would be
in my next four.

Speaker 3 (43:19):
They would be somewhere in there. My whole thing, I
just pot that ahead to head. If they're playing Tennessee,
they're playing LSU, they're playing Oklahoma when they're healthy. I
like Georgia Tech doing a great job. I just don't
know how they compete necessarily.

Speaker 6 (43:30):
All they do is be top twenty five teams. I mean,
whenever they get maxed up with them.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
They do.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
They're the killers in the in the ACC, they're giant killers.
They played with Georgia last year but didn't beat them.
Here's the thing, though, I watched Syracuse play them, and
I watched Georgia Tech play them. You know what I mean,
how impressive the bones point about LSU. How impressive is
that Georgia Tech win now? Because now I think we
know Clemson oh Man. So anyway, but hey, it's a

(43:56):
good conversation to have.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
It's fun.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
I don't think people even got mad at us on
text line for some reason. Well, I think it's because
it's so hard to everyone's gonna have it. No one's
bad except Willie will There's so many combed Yeah, he's bad.
There's so many combinations you could have. It's hard to really.
You know, I could say Tennessee five Old Miss but
there you can put any interchangeable parts here a plenty.
It's a shame Clempson is not good man because Clemson,

(44:18):
Florida State in Miami. That would be if if they
were all legit, if Clemson was what they're supposed to be,
that would be a great top three for the ACC.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
Right.

Speaker 3 (44:26):

with Pilly Wee. We will talk Charlotte FC, Panthers and
