Speaker 1 (00:03):
Oh oh, and Mac and Foe on your radio.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Baby's listen my frame, Mack, posh, come on, posh, this.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
In my frame, Team Bone.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
What's the fun I can't go to work without listening
to the Mac and.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Bones do a lot.

Speaker 5 (00:28):
As far as the rest of it, we just kind
of had to take it at you know, at Josie's
pace and with all the specialists that we're working with him,
you know, uh, Dan and Brent, you know, worked with
the agent and talked to them, and we felt like
this was the best outcome right now with the first,
you know, and most important thing for Josie is getting healthy,
you know, and getting him to a place where he
can make that sound decision on playing football which he

(00:50):
wants to do, you know, or or whatever is after that.
So I'm proud of the fact that we just had
upfront conversations throughout the whole time, and you know, that's
what I appreciated about the interaction.

Speaker 6 (01:02):
That is Dave Canalis talking about the sad news of
josie jewel concussion issue that is still lingering to the
point where he couldn't pass protocol seven and a half
months after the moment happened in the Arizona game last year,
and he's at least got to shut it down for now.
And you heard Canalis, I mean and another said it too.
Christian Roseboom, who would be replacing him in the starting

(01:25):
line of Bones, said it too that, Hey, we hope
to get him back. Canalis said, Josie wants to still play.
So this isn't one where Josie's retiring from football, but
feels like, man, I got to step away from this
thing and get my you know, get my mind right,
my head right.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
So hopefully it does. Hopefully gets to get back.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
You know, it's about life, not just football when you
have something like that that's lingered that long. So yeah,
he's putting football to the side for his own health
and you got to at leayst respect that for a
guy that's still has so what the wife ahead of them?

Speaker 6 (01:55):
There is an interesting question A Texter said, if Josie
was dealing with this, shouldn't a pan have had more insurance?
Shouldn't they brought him more insurance at linebacker? And it's
an interesting question like did they Because we talked yesterday
and I brought up today how similar the PFF even
the PFF grades last year were very similar in all
categories for rose Boom and Jewel, Right, did they bring

(02:17):
in rose Boom because they knew Jewel was dealing with
this and they weren't sure? Like was that the move?
That was Josie insurance? Like I get the Texter's point,
if you if they were concerned at all, and maybe
they weren't. Maybe they didn't realize it would be to
this length, But like, if they were, I would have

(02:37):
liked more Josie Insurance and just rose Boom.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
But it does make me wonder, is that why?

Speaker 6 (02:41):
Because Christian Roseboom is a guy bone that started thirteen
games last year for a playoff defense, you know, Like,
so was that the insurance for Josie?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yeah? And like what did they know over the last
couple of months did they did they realize he was
dealing with stuff? And then he came in and Toldally,
I don't exactly know what transpired. There were Maggot's. Not
often you see a guy outright released on day one
that's a projected starter and not just put on some
sort of list because of injury. Yeah, it wasn't no list.

(03:11):
He didn't get listed on you know, a pop or whatever.
Whist you put them on. He just got outright, you know.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Cut. That's the part of it that's crazy in that.
So that's what the wind part is.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
And Joe person said they tried to work out a
restructure like less money, and then that didn't work and
then they just did this. It does save them three
point three million of cap money. So if they do
want to trade for some sort of veteran linebacker, but Canalis,
of course yesterday wanted to back the whole linebacking crew.
You know, that's that's what he was doing. Yes, shit,
maybe mac he this is just complete. I get the day.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Maybe not know until he got there how bad he
was still feeling. Maybe yeah, I don't know. Instead of
like just listening him. They said, you never you never
told us that. I don't know. I'm trying to think
back that. They say, did he not tell them like, hey,
I'm not feeling right? And he got there and they're like,
you didn't I don't know. Yeah, we don't know. We
don't that part and fairness to them, we don't know
that part of it. I'm trying to think back.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
I can't remember many camp and o Ta's was he
listened as out constantly like was he not doing anything?

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I don't. I didn't pay attention to it.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
So anyway, because I don't this this the media wasn't
like really covering this, right, this wasn't a thing in
many camp and O TIA's I don't think anyway. All right,
So let's move along here, because this is sounds of
the Panthers instead of us yapping about the Panthers, which
is the rest of the show. So let's get to
some more sounds of the Panthers from yesterday.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Let's go to mister Rosebund.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
Christian Roseboom now slides in bone and he had the
green dot already day one to practice and he's the
one getting the calls in from the sideline for the defense.
And Christian Roseboom talked about getting the opportunity to be
a starter.

Speaker 7 (04:44):
It's like you said, it's definitely not the way. That's
just how football is though, you know, and like I
said earlier, you care about him as a human first
and foremost, and it was great to get to know
him and hopefully continue that relationship and maybe play again
together someday unless he heals up. So, but I've been

(05:05):
in this role before, so It's not something that's new
to me, so I'm I'm excited to kind of take
that opportunity and run with it.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
So there you go.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
Do you think Bone he will get some booms when
he makes tackles instead of Look.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
They may woo them also, they may woo them also.
Though yeah, he is a white linebacker in Carolina. He's
it's usually all it takes to get a lub. But
I think Boom should be a thing.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Definitely.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
He's got a great linebacker name, doesn't he Like If
I could be a linebacker, I think I would be
Bonzarelli rose Boom, like I would choose Bones rose Boom.
The name rose Boom is just a great lineback got
rose Boom to me, equals one hundred tacks last year.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
It equals one hundred and thirty five with the ram.
There you go. So I do think I said this yesterday.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
I do think we're about similar levels to Josie Jewel
in terms of performance. They also have similar games. I
think both just guys that want to hit in the
run big time. But the depth is what I'm worried about.
Like I felt a lot better when if rosemun was
a depth piece. Now our next depth guy chery list
does deserve be next linebacker up?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Winman? Does he deserve to be next linebacker up?

Speaker 6 (06:13):
I'm a little curious about Bam Martin Scott though undrafted
free agent out of South Carolina. He caught he he
caught my eye a lot last year in that game
Cox defense, So he'll be an interesting one to watch.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
We should have a Bam in a rose Boom, a linebacker.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
Bam and Boom, Baby, Bam and Boom as your middle linebackers,
the crow saying damn to say it Boom. All right,
let's move on to Dave Canalis and this is the
full clip. Earlier we played you the part that got
me all warm and tingly as a Panther fan.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
But let's play you the full answer.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
When Dave Canalis was asked the same question Dan Morgan
was the day before. What's your goals? What makes it
a successful season this year?

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Weekly growth? You know, and right now our focus is
having a great camp, you know. For me, it's owning
the system and working ourselves into condition to where we
can be ready to play Week one. That's the focus,
you know, And I think with this group, you know,
with just talking to the guys in the in the
team meeting with the group that we've brought together.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
How quickly can we play together?

Speaker 5 (07:14):
How quickly can we communicate and show that style of
football that we want that we want to put out there,
you know. And I think that this guy's a limit
for this group.

Speaker 8 (07:21):
You know.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
I think that this is going to be a very
competitive team. I don't think people are gonna want to
play us by the style of football that we play.
I'm expecting that my expectations are really high for this group.
They are every year, you know. And and we're gonna
shoot for as good as we can get. My language
to the group is I want to make sure we
maximize the talent in this room. That'll take us as

(07:42):
far as we need to go. But that's going to
be our focus.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
So there you go. I love he really ramps up.
It starts kind of like Dan Morgan was speaking the
other day. Well, we want to continue to grow each week,
each day, you know what I mean. We want to
master the systems and all that stuff. By the end,
he ramps it up. When he gets too we are
going to be a team that no one wants to play.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
That he got me a little fired up in that
clip he did, We've.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Come a long way. We're now at the don't want
to play us level. It used to be the people
don't want to watch us level. So we've really moved
along nicely here the last couple of years.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
You don't want to watch us.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
That is well, people don't want to play us as
well said that is an upgrade, a definite upgrade.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Not us because we always want to watch bone.

Speaker 6 (08:27):
Granny Patt is a nurse, forty three years as a nurse,
and Granny Pat right now believe she smells something fishy here.
Granny Patt says, it doesn't take this long to overcome
a concussion. There's another reason he has been released.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Granny Patt leads the league in compared to hearing it
could be the Moonshine talking.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
I don't know, how is she? How is she in
the medical profession? And she doesn't understand like with head injuries,
like they're all different.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I mean remember Michael lore Michael.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
Lure came back after a whole off season and was
never able to play again. Yep, I just was never
able to play football again. Oh, I don't know, I
don't really there's been concussions in wrestling that last forever,
Like you can imagine where taking you steel chairs to
the head, Like those things can linger for a long time.
You said it before, you remember, Like we learned this

(09:15):
a lot with Luke, like when he would go week
after week after Like there's every concussion is different, right.
There's some where you can literally get back the next
the next week, and there's some that'll take a couple
of weeks, and there's some that just it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
It's scary. Man, here spend seven and a half months.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Here's also yesterday, Matt Justin Morneau of the of the
Twins early twenty ten, got knead in the head sliding
into second base. Missed all of twenty ten right the
rest of the year, and twenty eleven he missed almost
two full seasons with concussion syndrome.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Yeah, it's some people that lingers like crazy.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
And there's also the element of how many of you
had previously yep, right, Like I think that's an element
then that it can effect as you keep getting them,
you're more apt to get them. You know, they might
be the effects might be worse the more you get
them anyway, all Right, So let's move along here. In
Sounds of the Weekend, We're gonna have to. Don't worry.
We will have our medical paler a panel later of

(10:12):
doctor Fauci and Granny pat Bone. They will talk through
the issue for us, all right, later on on the show.
Let's no nobody, all right, let's move along here.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
J C.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Horn Doctor Grouci.

Speaker 9 (10:23):
J C.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Hornbone also got Dave Canalis's back for saying people won't
want to play the Carolina Panthers this year.

Speaker 10 (10:32):
You know, I'm right on board with them.

Speaker 11 (10:34):
You know, that's just mentality how this team is gonna
be branded, you know, a physical football team where we
lose a draw. You know, like when you go in
there and see the Panthers, is gonna be a physical
football game.

Speaker 10 (10:44):
You're gonna be hurting afterwards.

Speaker 11 (10:46):
And that's just attitude we got to have and has
got to be our brand of football and we go
when we travel and play.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
So Jac's got his back. You there's no way jac
was answering that question any other way. Man with the
bravado and that he has, he loves it. I'm sure
he loves here and coach Canal speak that way. This
texture says Mac is asking acting like coach Canalis is
out there guaranteeing a Super Bowl appearance. Settled down, big fella. No,
I just think that he went a little further bone
than last year's coach.

Speaker 9 (11:12):
Me.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
Yeah, I just think it's I think that's a little
more aggressive of a statement. I'm not saying he's on
nothing crazy.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Oh, last year, he wouldn't say, he wouldn't say anything.
He would he would not never have this a year ago.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
I think he's feeling a little friskier about this team,
and I think we all are too. Beer Man in
Belmont points out Sidney Crosby missed the whole season, remember
his concussion issues too. So yeah, that's that's it's it's
just it's it sucks, man. I just I hope he's
going to be all right, first of all, from a
life standpoint bone, But if he wants to get back
to football, I hope he gets gets the chance. People

(11:44):
think Granny now has a kid cuts. I shouldn't be
laughing at that. I'm sorry, Grandy, but that one got me.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I once said Grandy's had a hangover for the last
forty one years.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
Grandy's getting dragged right, oh man, all right, So let's
move along here, Let's go to Bryce Young. Brace s
Young is the third straight year that brace Young has
done this his first press conference of the new year
in training camp. And listen to the way Bryce Young
started his press commence. I'm telling you this is the

(12:19):
nicest athlete to ever play a sport in the Queen City.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Listen to this.

Speaker 10 (12:25):
Hello, everyone, how are we doing? How we doing? One story?

Speaker 12 (12:29):
Like who has like the craziest like little off season,
like something like go somewhere crazy experience something If anyone
has something that's like I for sure got something that's
the best here anyway, I know someone's got something the
last couple of months.

Speaker 10 (12:45):
Like live life, what a beautiful thing? Anyone else?

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Here we go?

Speaker 10 (12:53):
Here we go. Me, I don't got no, I don't you.

Speaker 12 (12:56):
Know, yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 10 (13:03):
It was. That was fun. Going out to going out
to the lake with the guys was fun.

Speaker 12 (13:07):
Got to have a couple of days away from away
from here, away from kind of where anyone was at.
Just being able to meet like a neutral site is
always fun. So I say that was that was a
highlight for me. I'll be all right, I'll be honest
with you. I don't mind water. I don't like being
like I don't like sitting around, like being away, if
that makes sense.

Speaker 10 (13:27):
Like I don't like like seeing like after.

Speaker 12 (13:29):
You get out the water, like you know, like the
radio clothes, like your shorts's way, like I don't like
that feeling.

Speaker 10 (13:34):
I'll be honest with you. So that's that's why.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
So that's why he wouldn't go in the water.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Xavier League, I didn't want to go into the water
because he was scared, bleepless.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
He's like par Park quarterback Part summer Camp count awesome,
mag I'm laughing because we have the audio of Bryce
we just played and then audio later of cam Our
Star quarterbacks of the present in the past had two
completely different days yesterday of audio and they two completely
different demeanors.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
You know what I mean. It's it's fitting Bryce Young.
That's three straight years bone that he has opened his
first training camp presser with how was your off season?
What'd you guys do? And I believe he truly cares.
I'm not sure there has ever been an athlete that
has actually cared what anybody in the media did in
their off season ever before.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
But Bryce Young, I believe truly cares.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
I said last year on the Blueprint when he asked
the Antay Johnson, they were running, Hey, Deontay, how was
your weekend? Do anything fun? And Deontay Johnson mumbled something
that kept running and he ran all the way out
of town. Oh, man, what a human being he is? Yes,
I love him?

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Man. How can you not root for that guy?

Speaker 3 (14:38):
You know?

Speaker 6 (14:39):
How can you not root for somebody that genuinely nice?
Sure you did a good job of it last year.
What do you mean we're not rooting for him?

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (14:46):
No, I was always rooting for him. I just thought
it stop that panther viny. I just thought he might
need to leave Charlotte in order to salvage his career.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I did not stop rooting for him. I actually stopped
believing in him. It was, by the way, very bad
about it.

Speaker 8 (15:02):
Willy p has triggered us ripping him at eight forty five,
and I can't wait.

Speaker 6 (15:05):
Oh, he's gonna be very Yeah, he's gonna be very
triggered during the random Crap segment because Willie PE's workout
plan apparently makes the random Crap segment.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
First, we're gonna talk to Sheena Quick, who was on
my winning team of the bittzball game on Saturday. We'll
get reactions also to Panther Camp Day one. After that
eight forty five Willie bragging about something athletically that needs
to be on the table as well. Sports Radioven w FINS.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
Sports Radio Lean w FNZ, Mac and Bone with you.
Day two of Panthers Camp is today. Looking forward to
getting out there. The Mac and Bone boys headed out
there on a little show trip after.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
It's like one mile away. I don't know why I
call it trip, but we're.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
Headed out there after the show to check out practice.
We've been talking about day one, but why not to
talk talk to somebody that if it's happening with the
Carolina Panthers, she's there and she's covering it way better
than we ever could. We're talking about Sheena Quick, who
joins us here, one of many of y'all's i'm sure
favorites when it comes to daily Carolina Panther coverage. And

(16:36):
I guess I have to admit it. I was better
on Monday when I lashed out and said she did
not hit a legit home run. I was better, but
I must admit shooting it was sad the way you
two run shot was the killer was one of the
killer blows for Team Bone against Team Mac. She and
I got to give you credit, begrudgingly. Damn, you hit
the heck out of that ball.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Ah chills.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
But I have I didn't draft you. I have only
myself Sheena to blame.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I did not. Thanks. Thanks for coming out.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Your sons were amazing too, man, and your your youngest
son telling me that he liked my effort. But next
time I might want to use my hat to catch
a ball with eye opening for me.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Aiden is one on one, Okay, he is different. He's
surprised with me every day. You just never know what
adventure you're going to embark.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
All that is great. That is great.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Man.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
He was flying around the base pass. He's got the
track star jeans. But uh, anyway, all right, let's so
I had to admit that, Gane. I had to be
big enough to admit that. But but now we're going
to talk about the the Panthers. So you were there,
I know Mike Kay was kind of telling us that
the play the big princely play.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
At the end of practice.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
There were kind of as often as the case, there
were kind of some big dudes, kind of like you know,
in front of it. How much were you able to
see of of the Princely play where he has this
great pass rush and but gets in the bryce and
and it's a scary moment but also an exciting moment
for fans because we're looking for pass rush.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
What did you what did you make of that play?

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Well, the first thing is the best thing about it
is that it happened so fast. It happened so fast Princely,
I mean, he was back there in a hurry. And
you know, people called him a finet path Russian just
that and a third, but sometimes you need a little
bit of a nets. But I think that it was
just just the excitement, you know. And again, the Panthers
and I had a pass rushing a long time, and

(18:34):
you know, just had a lot of a lot of
walls on defense last year, so it was kind of like, whoa,
that's that's a little little touchy for day one. But
we like that you could get there that fast. So
I mean I think that, you know, I don't know
if the practice was supposed to end anyway or if
it just ended on that play, but I will say,
you know, it was important. He's a young guy, so

(18:56):
you know that Dave Canalis and Bryce are both kind
of like, yeah, you know, it a little touchy, but
we're excited. We're excited to see the rush, We're excited
for the play. And like Wright said, I'm just glad
he's on my team. So he's not going to be
in my face like that in a couple of weeks,
he's going to be hopefully in seventeen other quarterback place
just like that. So I just think it bows well
for the future. Especially people are still and are still

(19:19):
nervous about this defense. You know, there's PTSD from last season,
and I agree. I look, I can't blame him. I
sat through that. I sat through that, so you know,
I'm happy to see that. You know that young guys,
I mean they seemed to be really, really, really passionate
about learning. I know everybody's seen the clips of sporting

(19:40):
and Prancevilly moving the stuff around.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
In the hotel.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
I mean, this gouts defending their playbooks. They sent all
about football ever since they became Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
We've talked so much to you and everybody about the
safety spot next to may Rig and well they go
out and get somebody. But uh, forgotten guyle little bit
is Demani Richardson the guy who had heard that they
liked last year. How much of a chance do you
give Richardson to maybe be that guy instead of going
outside and bring us someone else in?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
And I think you give Richardson as much of a
chance as you give anybody else. I think, do you
have a solid campaign last year? It seems to be
building on that. Coach Snalo said that he's the one
that he feels like has to advance the most, that
he's most excited about his improvement and his growth as
a player. So right now, I mean, what can you
lose by giving him a chance? You know, you roll

(20:32):
the guys on whether or not you're able to get
another safety back there. That being said, that doesn't mean
that I'm not concerned about the second year, because they're
also really thinic cornerback, also really really thick paper scenic cornerback.
But I do like Smith Wade, I like Demani Richardson,
big young guys, and they're gonna take some development, but
they both are on exciting and positive track to compete improve.

(20:56):
So I'm not worried that Demni Richardson is to the task.
I just to like to see more steps. Yeah, in
the secondary.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
I kind of put it yesterday that now because of
the unfortunate Josie Jewel news, I feel like that whole
back seven you can kind of say, right, is lacking depth.
Do you now put linebacker? Like, do you do you
think we're good? Or you put is linebacker go to
the top of the list of worries down?

Speaker 1 (21:23):
What do you think? I think so?

Speaker 3 (21:25):
I mean because when we're talking about when we're talking
about the secondary, we're talking about the gets behind the guys,
But who are the guys for linebacker? You don't have
a sick that you just sit in stone that these
are the guys are going to make this roster. And
linebacker has been up there for me from the get go,
and it just becomes red alert now without Josie Juele
to me in my opinion, but it was always a

(21:47):
position in me and one of the higher positions of
meat on defense for me from from.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Jump Yeah, yeah, she You know, what do you think
about Renfro? The story of Renfro and what he's trying
to pull off here? And do you how much of
a chance do you give Hunter to make this scene
I'll say this.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
I first started by saying this, I suffer from autoimmunities also,
so my heart is definitely you know, hard goes out
to him because it is difficult. Your body is literally
fighting itself. So that being said, just his courage to
come back to the game after experiencing something like that.
It's one of those silent uh, one of those silent
ailments that people can't physically see on you right away,

(22:26):
but they will see it over time. And I fell
that to say that, that to me is his biggest
detractor as far as his biggest obstacle in making this team,
because it's just a deeper wide receiver room that we
hadn't say, you're a long time in Carolina. I don't
know if you got I mean you remember when Ron
Rivera has a you know, the law off the shirt
pom with what the first in play and Frasier I

(22:47):
don't remember that. Yes, I mean, you know the Panthers
hadn't had a cub run. It's over a wide receiver
in a really really long time. That being said, if
there is an odd man out to me, I had
it between it more and Hunter Renfro and if I
had to sell my house based on who's going to
make that ross seat today after day on a training camp,

(23:08):
it would be David Moore, Yeah, it would be David More. Interesting,
it would be David More. David Moore plays specialty hunter.
Renfo doesn't do does play special tea. And he's been
away through the game a little bit longer, a little
bit longer, but.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
With two seasons.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yeah, yeah, I don't quite know he's really gotten his
football legs back under him. And not to mention they
have me to surpassed on yet.

Speaker 6 (23:27):
Is your feeling that Horn because of his return game
or maybe just the explosiveness like Horn, you feel like
we'll be on this active roster absolutely all right, looking
forward to, looking forward to to check in.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
That's just yeah. We were just talking about that the
other day and I'm like, that's that's my odd man
out to either Renfro or More and right now I've
got to get that. Give that roster spot the more
if I have to pick today.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Speaking Horne, a question about the the other Horn, JC Horn.
Did you see the car yesterday that he was bragging about.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
I did not.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
We were like, oh, we got to go to the
to the parking lot. I mean just to set up
for sure to all that stuff is so much different
this year that we don't necessarily even enter the stadium
we used to end the I mean, you guys know
that we used to end in the stadium and the
player's lot, when we don't ender the stadium, Like I
don't even know the last time I.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Was in the player's lot, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (24:15):
I was thinking about that, like he told like, I
have visions after he told y'all just go check it out,
I had visions of David Newton, of David Newton snooping
around looking in the windows of players cars and like
security busting them or something.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
You know, you might you might be right, but our
curiosity like we like, do you have a guess of
what kind of car?

Speaker 6 (24:38):
Like bone and I drive Mitsubishi's and kias, so we
don't really know about Like you couldn't lie, you could lie.

Speaker 9 (24:44):
And.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
Like, do you have any guess on what on what
he might have Because he'd been bragging about to y'all
a lot.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
I might just have to do some type of like
blues clues, uh Nancy drew type of mistigation to get
down to.

Speaker 7 (25:01):
The bottom of it.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
The only thing he would give us that it was black.
So I'm gonna ten the internet and hone his social
media supposed toe that actually put something together for you guys,
and I'll I'll.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Report back with my fond Yeah, you got to get
on that case because inquiring minds really want to know
there's no doubt about it. Also, we also commented Gena
on the fact that I think it's three straight opening
press conferences for training camp where Bryce opens the presser
by asking, y'all what you did over the summer? Is
he's one to one? Is he not like the sweetest,

(25:31):
nicest dude that you have ever covered? Like, how can like,
when fans bash him around here, how can you not
pull for this dude?

Speaker 10 (25:37):
Man.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
The funniest thing, I don't know if I told you
the story before. The funniest thing we were a bashed
and I went to the Jordan House during the Super
Bowl because the first year we got in righty, so
you know, they have a cocktail hour and all the
Jordan brand athletes are there. Bryce's like, what's your ability here?
That it is like seeing my teachers outside of school,
And I've never felt more like an auntie before in
my life than in that moment, I think I'm a

(26:01):
post it. I said, I don't know how to say that.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Right that is hilarious, teachers.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Out of school, just a good kid, and and even
just coming opening up as press are asking us about us.
It's just you see the comfortability that he is growing,
and we're seeing more of Right's personality. We're seeing the
laster we're seeing. I'm not saying a mask that is
never I want to say he wore a mask. I

(26:29):
think he wore a very media trained persona. And now
he's just relaxed. You know. That comes with maturity, That
comes with being having the same head coach, play caller
and all that stuff for two years in a row,
and being getting a chance to actually have some some
stability in the system that he's learning. They went and
got some weapons. I mean, I think Right Young is

(26:50):
in a really good place right now mentally and physically,
and that shows in those press conferences. You can tell
he's feeling good, you can tell you can tell how
these guys are feeling.

Speaker 11 (26:59):
Just thought.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Their body language is body languages different, you know, and
they've always told us that communicator and that's not surprising
to me. You want the freaking heisman. Like, I don't
care what how tall or short he is. He wonted
the freaking huisman. So he's always had to have some
type of command over the huddle anyway. But you're just
kind of seeing his comfortability. You're seeing him chat chat
his teammates up in between his plays, especially some of

(27:22):
the younger guys from of the past catchers. So I
just think that the way he's opening his pressure is
just another step in Bryceshawng's maturation as the face of
this team.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
Yeah, well said Well, said Sheena. We had a blast
talking to you. Congratulations on that win, all right and
that home run. I got to give it to you,
follow Sheen. It's hard.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
I'm not a sore loser.

Speaker 6 (27:42):
It's hard for me to do that at Sheena underscore
Marie three on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Everybody to wait until I find a video footage somebody
had you wait.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Oh no, it's gone missing somehow. It's amazing how good
moments off of my team I've gone missing. Find that
video footage of those two fitty strikeouts too. I mean
I got that at least I was able to numb
it back to the pitcher. Twice a hight gena be good.
We'll see you out there at camp. Be good than
all right, there you go. That is Sheena, quick and Bone.
I'm going to do something. I was horrible. I was

(28:13):
so happy I made contact though, but it was pathetic.
I didn't get a ball. Pass the damn pitch. But
here's the deal, Bone, I am going to be man
right now.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
I know I was better.

Speaker 6 (28:21):
I ripped the umpires, the poor intern umpire to that
whole foundation. I was very bitter on Monday. My Sycamore
shout out goes to Team Bone, goes to Team Bone.
What a damn team in uh media blitz ball that
the Bone man assembled. He was a better GM than I.
I made mistakes that cost me. I don't know why
Fitty was on my team, but I made mistakes. But anyway,

(28:44):
Uh Sycamore shout out. Everybody on Team Bone just so
good as Sycamore Man, the best draft craft beers in Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Head over to the taphouse.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
Bone, take take those gift cards from Fiddy and take
your team over to the Sycamore Taphouse over there on Hawkins.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
You'll deserve it. Thank you for being the big man
that you are. When we come back, you're fitting random crap.
Cam's involved in another feud, and acc coach has a
very strange burger routine. And we we're gonna talk about
Willie p two ways here number one, his workout claim
number two, how Maddie is at us right now before
we even say what the claim is. Sports Radio ninety

(29:20):
seven WFNZ.

Speaker 9 (29:24):
Random crap, random crap, Mack and Bone talk, random crap,
random crap, random crap. Mack and Bone talk, random crap, random,
random crap, random crap, random crapuck.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Crap, Oh crap.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
We stink like a baby's blowout infested diaper.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
They talk about crap that is random.

Speaker 11 (29:50):
It's the Queen City's favorite morning tandem, Mac and Bone,
random crap, Mac and Bone.

Speaker 13 (29:57):
Let's take Cam Newton right, what may Cam Newton? He
could be powerful in short Yordage and gold Line. He
could extend plays with his legs. He was this big
physical presence.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
So is Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 6 (30:08):
Right.

Speaker 13 (30:08):
Cam Newton went to the playoffs four times. Jalen Hurt's
been to the playoffs four times already. Cam Newton went
to three Pro Bowls. Jalen Hursts already been to two
Cam Newton was an MVP and he got to the
Super Bowl and he forgot to bring his cape with
Jalen Hurst is going to the Super Bowl. He's brought
his cape, and he's also bought the Avengers with him,
who were not even in DC.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
They and Marvel, there's Ryan Clark on ESPN Fire and
some shots at Camp. Cam made the whole city of
Philadelphia mad. He made many NFL followers mad bone by
not putting Jalen Hurts among his top ten quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
I love Cam.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
I find it kind of preposterous that Jalen Hurts not
be a top ten quarterback.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
I'm not saying bonys be in the top five.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
ESPN's coaches and executive list had him at nine.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
That'd be fine. Not having him in the top ten
after winning a Super Bowl. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
FIA feels I'm not team Cam on that one. All
the guy does is all the guy does his win.
I mean that's gonna matter for something. I mean, no,
Jalen Hurds is definitely object.

Speaker 6 (31:05):
Feel like he's got at least be in that back
half of the top top about anyway.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
I'm not even sure it's really obviously it's debatable because
they are debating it. But to me, he's it's just
a matter of the seven, eight, nine, ten somewhere in
that neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
But that is not here. That's not here or there
bone the story.

Speaker 6 (31:22):
The reason why this has made random crap is because
Cam Newton is in his seven hundredth media feud of
the past six months, bony against Ryan Clark Orlovsky. I
guess said some stuff too, because there's a little shot
at Orlovsky in here. This is or Cam's coworkers. Also,
this is geat Cam does first take right over there
at ESPN. This is Cam Newton on his fourth and

(31:42):
one podcast, responding to Ryan Clark.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
People are not understanding here. You're attacking the messenger and
not attacking the message. So since that we want to
attack the messenger, Ryan Clark, Okay, let's pull up your stats.
Second team all SEC. We cannot relate. Undrafted in two
thousand and two, we cannot. Then you have one Pro
Bowl in twenty eleven, we cannot relate. So if you
want to unlock petty, Cam and everything that Cam Newton

(32:07):
has ever said on this fourth or one show has
always been backed by Mayor and logic, but in some
way shape form, people keep attacking Cam the person, or
why he didn't.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Jump on the fumble, why he didn't do.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
This, or comparing the contrast, And so when I compare
the contrast, you guys are statistics and Dan Oloski never mind.
But as we keep going and we keep unlocking and
keep poking the bear, and y'all want.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
To play this game, I can play this game too.
Got saved there? That was so funny, daddy? Or was
it worse?

Speaker 6 (32:39):
On's I think the nevermind was worse Dan Orlowski. All
you did is round on the back of the end zone.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
My bad.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
I've got Cam's back on this one though. For some reason,
Bone like when most media people have an opinion you
disagree with, You disagree with the opinion, go back to
the brock Purty stuff game manager. When people get mad
at Cam's opinions, they go after Cam.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Why they do that?

Speaker 6 (33:03):
Yeah, and they make it personal again. It's not fair.
Just let's battle opinions. Cam Newton's not saying he's better
than Jalen Hurt said that one the thing, he didn't
rank him in the top ten. So you come back
and explain why he's in the top ten. Why is
it got to be personal shots? Do people do this
when other former players bone have taken Like I just
I don't know. I've noticed a trend right there with

(33:23):
the way they respond to Cam's opinions. I personally attack them.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
A little bit of a theory here because they're so
used to taking shots that Cam when he played. Not
all of that, but a lot of people throw shots
at Cam when he played. They're not separating mat Cam
the opinionated broadcaster, from Cam to quarterback, right, So they're
so used to having some opinion on Cam, and oftentimes
it made it personal. They're still doing that rather than

(33:49):
just taking Cam for what the opinion did.

Speaker 6 (33:51):
People are choosing sides on the text line all in
since seventy nine says where is he?

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Where's he at here?

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Cam?

Speaker 6 (33:58):
Cam just don't give a damn no, he does not,
And it makes for a very good podcast. It very
much does. English Paul says, Ryan Clark equals Jalen but hurts.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
So there you go.

Speaker 6 (34:09):
All right, let's move along here. No, no, no, don't
wrap it up. I'm telling you Cam was made to
do this. He was made and it's why I continue
to say that a network should put him on because
he creates headlines. He created him when he played, and
he creates him to this day. He will create him
until the day he dies. Man, All right, let's move
to the next random a crap portion of this segment.

(34:32):
Jamie Dicker new head coach at Wake Forest, but Jake
Jake Dicker not to be confused with his brother Jamie
Jay Jacker that he knew head coach at Wake Forest.
Bone is known for his coaching that he did at
Washington State, but also is now known Bone for the
way he prepares Hamburger's. Listen to his running back Desmond

(34:54):
Clayborne tell the ACC network about it.

Speaker 11 (34:56):
Hey, we had dinner at his crib and I didn't
know that he puts these oaks his burgers in sprite
before he cooks them.

Speaker 10 (35:02):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I guess it's a Wisconsin thing.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Yeah, in sprite.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
I guess it's a Wisconsin h Why I say something else?

Speaker 2 (35:12):
How it was?

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Oh, it was great, it was great.

Speaker 10 (35:15):
Could get he could cook some burgers?

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Now would you?

Speaker 6 (35:18):
Would you want to soak your burgers in sprite before
you put them on a grilled bony? Oh?

Speaker 1 (35:23):
How does one come up?

Speaker 2 (35:24):
With this either or anyway, like what what transpires to
figure out what burgers in sprite tastes?

Speaker 9 (35:30):
Like?

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Something went wrong here and it might be alcohol. It
might be someone had to do some drinking and just
throw burger. He just maybe he just dropped the raw
burger in spry. Maybe he just filled some sprite on
some raw burger meat and then cooked it and then realized, Man,
this tastes good.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Yeah, maybe that's what it was.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
I'm on a Reddit thread right now about they're talking
about it. On a Wisconsin thread. They posted the story
this is a Wisconsin thing. Wisconsin people are saying, don't
put this on us.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
No, they don't know about it.

Speaker 6 (35:59):
Has every anybody ever heard of such a thing like
soaking your burgers before you cook them in sprite or
any soda for that matter.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
I don't know what does it do? Mark Rick?

Speaker 6 (36:07):
They actually served him on set yesterday and Mark Rick
said it was great.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
I don't know what does it do?

Speaker 6 (36:13):
Make your burger like a little sweet or something, lemon
lime burger or something.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
I guess maybe it just seems odd to me. It
doesn't seem necessary.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
I never would have thought of it, because I don't
think anyone would ever think of that, Like, I just don't.
I'm doing a sprite marinate or something. That's basically what
he's doing. Yes, that is one hundred percent basically what
he's doing. So it's not like he's not like he
didn't have a cook burger. No, he's soaking a minute
before okay, cooks before we grow. So it's not like
it's still weird. He's got a cup of spry, he's

(36:40):
got a burger and he's dipping it in the No,
but it's still weird, all right.

Speaker 6 (36:45):
Willie p by the way, is so undone by this
whole work I don't even understand the workout argument. He's
now asking me why it's so hard to believe his
workout routine. I didn't even speak on his workout routine yet,
I don't say what it was. I don't even know
the story. Y'all are the ones that know this story.
So Pitty, explain this to me, because Willie, you have
made random crap here?

Speaker 1 (37:04):
All right?

Speaker 6 (37:05):
What you guys were in an argument about physical fitness
or something?

Speaker 8 (37:09):
So you remember yesterday after I hung up on him,
I took like twenty seven pot shots at Willie. Well,
we know, Willy likes to go back and listen to
the show to see how many times he gets mentioned,
so he heard all the potshots. It's on my way home.
He just texts me out of the blue and for
the record, fitny, I have seen a Jim more recently
than you. And I was like, where'd that come from?

(37:30):
First off, you're wrong. I have a workout room in
the house I live in, oh I walk by it
every single day.

Speaker 9 (37:35):
How do you?

Speaker 10 (37:36):
He asked me.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Did I use it?

Speaker 8 (37:37):
And I said, no, I don't use it. Obviously, It's
why I'm fat. I just leg press four hundred and
seventy pounds. When you say that, that's going to get
brought up, it's got to be addressed. Is it wrong
of me to like be shocked that either one of
you regularly works out? No, Like, I have to be
honest with you, I would not have guessed Listen, you
know damn well, I don't regularly work out.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
For God's sakes.

Speaker 6 (37:58):
I ain't saying nothing, but like, I am shocked at
both like both of you regularly work out.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
I'm like, I'm kind of in disbelief over that cheer fact.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
I was stunned that Willie's working out doing four to
seventy on legs. But now I find out Fiddy's gotta
workout room where he lefts. Now, this is this is
an eye opening day right now, back all the way around. Yeah,
there's there's a treadmill in there.

Speaker 6 (38:18):
You, I will say this, Fiddy's got himself some damn
Quadsty's Phitty's our quadzilla, like you got some saquons on you.
Man like Willie has stunny of string bean legs like
I do. I've never seen his legs. I've never seen
his legs because he always wearing payots. Yeah, I've never
seen his legs. You sound very disappointed.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Four seventy does that seem doable? I think the average
is four twenty five for the for a regular man.
So he's going above and beyond that.

Speaker 8 (38:46):
I told him we were gonna need proof, and he said, quote,
I'll have my trainer video me tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Trainer.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
So now will he's got a trainer. Also, you got
to work out room. Will He's got a trainer.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Here is hell. He's going on all right. So here's
what AI tells me.

Speaker 6 (39:01):
Beginner lifters should aim for around one seventy eight to
one ninety one on a leg press. Intermediate lifters should
aim might aim for four ninety nine or more. So
he's kind of like an average I guess, okay, Well
maybe it makes more sense than I thought. I guess okay,
because you thought like he's lying.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Well, yeah, I just I did not.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
How did he's got I don't know. Maybe I just
I am in shock. He's got a trainer. Well, we're
gonna have to take Fiddy and Willie to the gym. Now,
are I want to interview?

Speaker 6 (39:30):
The trade is no way he can have leg press
Fitty though, I'm telling you, Fiddy has some damn cannons
on him.

Speaker 8 (39:36):
I did some twenty five, like my freshman year of
high school to twenty five. Yeah, when I was like
when Jim we had a workout class where we'd go
and lift weights to stuff and I was doing two
twenty five and at thirteen?

Speaker 6 (39:46):
Why is really so angry? He didn't even know what
we're gonna say. I guess he thinks that we just
don't believe him. But it's like when you say, if
I say that, Flounder says that trop he says that
it's going to be brought up, and it's going to
be addressed.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
You've been here.

Speaker 8 (39:59):
Since what's nineteen twenty twenty? Have you not learned the
rule the rules of the Mac and Bone Show.

Speaker 6 (40:04):
I gotta be honest, Willie. I thought you had work
out of phobia like I I. And I'm speaking as
someone that has work out of phobia. I you, there's
no way I would have bet money Bone if you
said bet your paycheck. Does Willy go to the gym
regularly or not? There's no way. I'm on the yes side.
So I'm like in disbelief that he is even.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
At the gym. Ray, he's the busiest man in Charlotte.
When does he have time?

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Uh, Phitty's dad's weighing in now on the text file,
okay seven oh four five seven h nine six ten
FanDuel texts. The only reason there's a workout room is
because Phiddy's roommate has a workout room.

Speaker 7 (40:37):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
I didn't say it was my workout room. But there's
the one that I walked by every day. Oh so
you don't work out regularly now?

Speaker 8 (40:44):
Whenever I, oh, shoot, whenever I work out, I walk
my road, which I walk it for an hour, which
is three miles.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
That's my workout. I do it about once a week.

Speaker 6 (40:53):
Papa Fitty just completely just busted your line. Where's Papa,
Where's Papa Palaja?

Speaker 1 (40:59):
Where's pop a Pete? To validate the jim, Willie's at
the gym every day, and Willie let press his giant
dry briskets.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
This dude says, when Willie gets up five hundi on
the lake press machine, he lets out a sweeters gay.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
Some one said, Willie's got a picture when he works
out of Brad Bronico.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
I'm doing it for the mayor. Oh grind set, baby,
just like the mayor. I got the grind set.

Speaker 6 (41:33):
Oh p man, I'm sorry. I wasn't familiar with your game.
Pe I was not familiar.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Damn yea.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
We have media, we have I'm out. We're a odd way,
all right.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
We come back.

Speaker 6 (41:51):
This week, national media has hyped up UNC football, State football,
and Duke football to the fans of those three Triangle schools.
Believe that hype, we'll talk about it.

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
