Speaker 1 (00:18):
Sports Radio ninety two seven w f MZ back and
bone with you, nine o'clocker's welcome board.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
We're gonna bring back the Stro Show.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Actually, Stroeline back in town after her first assignment in Minnesota.
Should be doing a bunch of games for on the
Sidelines for te Wolves TV, So we'll see how that went.
She's gonna have some cold, cold nights body this winter.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
And you are you are jealous of the Minnesota broadcasters
and her new friendships.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I've already told her.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
I've already I've already told her at the Panther game
on Sunday that that I am a little jealous. We
will explain. We will delve into that coming up in
a little bit. Also, the Montage and Misery. How did
it sound on Skip Bayless's video stream, Michael Irvin's video stream?
How did it sound on Dallas Sports Radio? Since the
Panthers beat him? You will hear the Cowboy edition of

(01:09):
Montage and Misery, and it is glorious. It even includes
a fake Jerry Jones. It is glorious. That's coming up
at nine to twenty five, right before Stro. So we
got some good stuff coming up here on the show,
but nothing compares apologies to Ashley stroll Line apologies too,
the Montage of misery Bone, But nothing compares to this
Panther legend joining us to give us his insight on

(01:32):
the Panthers winning the last two games, winning three the
last four. He is Jake Delone, legendary Panthers QB Panthers
Radio Network. Jake, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Man? How you doing?

Speaker 4 (01:42):
I'm great, guys. How are y'all?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Jake?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
We're doing good?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
We're doing a lot better right now than we were
a couple of weeks ago at this time after the
Patriots game. We love what's happened the last two weeks.
What do you think? What do you think about the
way the Panthers have been running this football? And and
do you look at it partly as well it was
against Miami, it was against Dallas, or do you look

(02:06):
at it and say, this stuff's gonna work against a
hell of a lot of defenses?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
What do you think?

Speaker 6 (02:12):
I understand the Miami Dallas bit because they have struggled minorly,
right But the only thing I'll tell you is this,
I've seen Dave Canallas's offense for four quarters this year
in three games because the other games that we lost
there was you had no idea offensively in the second
half because all we're doing is throwing because we're down

(02:33):
twenty plus, you know. So that's what we want to do.
That's how we want to be. Will it be that
way every week? I doubt it, But that's who we are.
I mean, that's and you're gonna see it develop. The
run game, it takes time, especially man, I'm telling you,
when you can't have all these padded practices anymore, it
is run fits got offensive linemen.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Have to work together.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
If you look at all the injury from it takes time.
It's a cohesive union. You'll go back to two thousand
and eight with Jonathon and DiAngelo. They were so great
running the football together. But if you look at the season,
I think they both was it eight or nine, they
both rushed for like a thousand apiece. We got better

(03:15):
after the buye and that was week eight. We just
we weren't. We were doing okay, but it just developed
as the season went on. So hopefully we can stick
to it. But I think we all know the turnovers
kill us, right if we turn over the football and
put ourselves in a bond. We need to stay turnover
free if possible, and just play the way we continue
to play. Just keep it close, keep it tight. It's

(03:36):
starting to show some of our guys, Okay, now it's
time to go win a game, and we're getting We
have some guys that.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
They want to be in that moment. It seems to
me that's what I'm seeing when I'm watching this.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Play, Jake.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Not that it's a bad problem to have, but with
Shuba on the way back, with how hot Rico has
been the last couple of weeks, how do you properly
deploy and distribute the carries? Is it fifty to fifty
the ride Rica out as the main guy for a while?
What's the what's the way to go about this issue?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Here?

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Listen?

Speaker 6 (04:06):
I laugh when I you know, because you're hearing the
narrative like, okay, oh, who's gonna happen? We have so
much football left to play, and there's so many more
hits on these running backs, Like it's gonna work itself out.
I even talked to Jonathan Stewart after the game about it,
and I asked him, I said, hey, when you and
D'Angelo were rolling, like I said, refresh my memory because

(04:26):
I don't really recall. You know, it was there series,
he goes, Jake, we had series, he goes, But I
knew D'Angelo would stay in and he'd look at me
and he tap his head, Hey, come on, go in there.
You know, he said, that was that's how we did it.
We didn't we didn't care, he said, one, because it
was taking hits off of us and we could come
in fresh, he goes, and it would demoralize the defense.

(04:47):
And I think you're going to see that way with Rico,
you know, and Tuba. Knowing Cuba and knowing the type
of leader he is and what he does. If you
watch postly any of the celebration speeches in the locker
room they put these little clips out, Tuba of it
has the biggest smile on his face when they're talking
about Rico, Like Tuba's different guys. I'm just telling you

(05:08):
this guy, he's part of the turnarounds. In my opinion,
he's one of the main pieces. So I think it
plays itself out. That's a good problem to have if
we consider that a problem.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Oh, definitely, compared to the problems Jake we have been
talking about recent years. Here as Panther fans like, I'll
take this one. And by the way, the game, oh,
go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
No, No, I mean think about Rico. He's almost cramped
up the last two games. I mean, running that many times.
It's it's hard, right because it's not like he's looking
to run out of bounds and not run into contact,
and he runs through contact.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
And it's he plays very physical. So I just I
think that's a good issue for us to have.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I hope I would like, you know, Dave to talk
to Stu about this. You know what I mean, because
Dave said last night on Panther Talk that they had
been kind of looking around the league president passed and seeing, Hey,
which which teams made it work with two running backs?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
What you what?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Stu's saying, there could be good information the game. I
think of Jake and y'all were amazing in two thousand
and eight down the stretch, like you're saying, when you
got them both going. But I think of that Monday
night game against tampamp Dude, do you know Gruden still
talks about having nightmares about that game when those two
ran all over them.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Man, Yeah, that was the that was the beginning of
and honestly, you know, it's funny that game is etched
in my mind because one it was awesome, right, but
that was the beginning of Ryan Khalil realizing, you know what,
I'm the best damn senter.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
In the league.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
He said something in the in that game and Jordan
Groves still we still laugh about it. We're running the
ball in from right to left and I think it's
either late third or early fourth.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
I think it's early early fourth and we're just you
just feel it.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
The crowds into it and we're we're manhandling them and
we get a long run. We getting the huddle and
I was I talked a lot, obviously calling the place.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Jardan was the leader, leader of the line. But that's
kind of how it was. We really didn't have many
other people speaking, to be.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Quite honest, there was that or Ryan Khalil gets in
the huddle on this long run and he was like,
what love And he said a few choice words, but
he said, we're a certain type of offense and let's
run it, you know, just he just got after it
and Jordan and I looked at each other and we
made the whole face.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Like whoa this tough guy. Who's this tough guy?

Speaker 6 (07:24):
And Ryan looked at both of us. In essence, he said,
both of you get in the huddle, but like that's
where you start to see. And I'm telling you, I
think Kaide mays. I think Kaid's a big part of this.
You know, this is a guy that it goes unnoticed
some of the things he does. Ikey I Kuanu is
an elite, elite, elite run blocker. He's unbelievable blocking on

(07:48):
the run.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
He does well in pass protection.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
I think he's gotten better, but he is an elite
run blocker.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Him and Damian.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
Lewis and then Brady Christison. Listen, I just said, think
Tommy trumbles another one when you rewatch the film from
the other day, his effort and finish on blocking.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Michel Evans is a sick kid, you know, like it's it.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
I think we're feeling it, guys right now. Are we
feeling it enough to make this big run win the division?

Speaker 1 (08:12):
No?

Speaker 6 (08:13):
I just think where it's coming. I think you feel
it coming in, like, okay, young kids are developing, and
I think the panther away, I think you run the football.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
I think he got up.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
That's who we are, Jake, where do you think this
defensive improvement's coming from. Obviously Derek Brown is a massive
part of that, but what else are you seeing where
this defense has taken major, major strides from where they
were a year ago.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
Well, you hit it on the head. Number ninety five,
he's different. He's just big, strong and different. If he's
one on one, he's throwing the guy out the way
or he's getting tackled and it's a hold on the
play and the double team the other guys of singles
singled up. So I think that's the biggest thing. I
think Trev Morrick number seven, the closer he is to
the line of scrimmers, the better he is. There's a

(08:59):
physicality and I think you see him bringing it. The
linebacker has been very interesting that the green dot was
shifted from Rose Boom to Trevin the last two games
and they're both playing faster, and I think one is
just sheer experience with Trevin.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
I mean the kids missed half, you know.

Speaker 6 (09:18):
A decent amount of the season with the shoulders injury
last year. He's still young, still learning, but Rose Boom
Gosh is different. The last couple of games. Just the
speed with which he's playing. So you know the young
draft picks Nick s Gordon, I think the kid just
turned twenty one years old. Like I watched him push
Terrence Steele, who's a large man, the right tackle of

(09:41):
quality right tackle in the league, push him all the
way back, bull rush him into Dack's lap in one
of the red zone players the other day where Dak
had to rushing incomplete and we held him to a
field goal.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
So you're just seeing flashes.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
I think Pat Jones, he's Mason plays ashn solid.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Dan's been the right thing now.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
I mean he's built both lines two years in a row,
and that gives you a chance.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
That definitely gives you a chance.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Beating up on teams in the trenches like they've done
the last two weeks is so much fun to watch
as a fan. And you mentioned it. Panther football is
running the ball, Jake. You know it better than anybody
when the Panthers have been good. So maybe I'm nostalgic
as a fan, right, But when the Panthers have been good,
they have kicked people's rear ends in the trenches on
both sides of the ball. So I like the way

(10:26):
Dan is building this thing. This feels like panther football.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
It does.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
And listen, I think that's the way most teams win,
as being the physicality in the run game. You know,
we saw firsthand twice the year Sean Payton and the
New Orleans Saints right well, that Super Bowl year. Yeah,
drew through it a lot, but they ran the ball
with Pierre Thomas and that bunch and the screen game.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
I mean, the run game was very prominent.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
And I just that's a recipe to be in every
game and stay in every game.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
And you do that, and that's.

Speaker 6 (10:58):
Where the second half comes in the I'll go back
to it. Jacksonville, Arizona, New England couldn't run the ball
in the second half because the game didn't allow us to.
And that's where, you know, that's just that's.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
How the game's played.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
It's those body blows all game along, you know, until
something breaks usually, And that's the interesting thing. Rico didn't
have a breakout run one of these long runs last week.
It was seven, ten, twelve, fifteen, you know, it was
those And I liked what we did with Laget.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
We threw that screen to him.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
I just I think he's a debo esque type of person.
I think he's one of those type you know that
you get those screens, that big body running and things
like that.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Jake, last question before I let you go about your
day here and we thank you for your your kindness
and joining us as always. What's your assessment right now
with Bryce Young? Where are you seeing the improvement in
Bryce and what's the next step and his maturation as
an NFL quarterback.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Well, I think the biggest thing is the turnovers.

Speaker 6 (11:59):
When we turn it over early that you know, it
gives us problems, right, And yes, he did have the
pick last week. I'm not so quite sure that was
his fault. We all know he kind of went through
t Mac's hands. But I just he's coming through big
in big spots on the third down and some of
the fourth down plays, you're seeing a different player, Like

(12:21):
I think he's getting very comfortable in the offense. And
it's only the second year with coach Canalis and you're
watching them and he's you can see during the course
of the game if you watch close. I kind of
stayed with my binoculars a lot during the game. You
can see days like talking to him in big downs
like hey, this or this and Bryces. You can you
can see Bryce is like, no, I probably prefer this better.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
This is why.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
And it's not an emotional answer because he's not an
emotional guy. It's a thought out and answer about the preparation,
what this team, what are we expecting here? So those
are the things that I think you're starting to see
a maturation process. But the turnovers has been the issue
whenever we do turn it over to be able to overcoming.
And that was huge against Miami. You know those two turnovers.

(13:03):
We finally overcame them, you know what I'm saying. And
last week we only had the one on that play
and that I think Dallas scored on that drive.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
I think that was the time that.

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Yeah, So those are the things that it's just we're coming.
I don't think we're there yet, but you like the
way we're going about it.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Now.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Here's the thing. Can we go on the road? Can
you go to New York? This team is down.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
It's a struggle for them right now.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
They're trying.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
I mean they fought last week against Denver. They really
truly did. When you watch the film, they played hard.
So can we go to New York? And can we
play good Panther football and try and try to come out,
you know, with a win.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
That's the next step. Win on the road and win
a game that I know Vegas came out with a
Jets is like a one and a half point favorite.
But like win a game that you feel like, hey,
we're the best, We're the better team going in, right,
Like win that game. That would do a lot for
this process. By the way, I got to ask you, Jake,
when you played, you were known for fire, your fire, right,
your emotion, which we love as fans. Does the broadcasting

(14:05):
for the Panther Network, Like do you find yourself getting
fired up in a game like Sunday or is it
just is it different?

Speaker 4 (14:11):
No? No, I do.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
I I just I want to see it succeed, right.
I bleed Carolina Blue and my partner on the side
of me, Luke, is the same way, and we kind
of punch each other all game, hit each other.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
We just we wanted, we wanted.

Speaker 6 (14:26):
We just want that that stadium back like rocking again
and loud and and and fun. I mean, listen, it's
been difficult, you know the last five years or so,
you know what I'm saying, Like, Okay, but I just
think you're kind of starting to see, Okay, this is
who we want to be. This is and and that's
a reflection of how Dan wants to build a team.
Like we all know this. Dan's not gonna get up

(14:48):
there and and want to talk and speak and talk
about what he's done, but he wants football players that
want to compete, compete and play and be tough and
nasty because that's what he was. That's what the teams
that he played on. And then you go back to
the second regime, that the Cam and Luke regime, that's
what that team was. They were mean, tough, nasty, the

(15:10):
special teams with a That's that's how you win, man,
it's you just you got to have that edge when
you play. And you're starting to see it. But this
is huge this week.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Can we see it in New York? Can we can
we take it on the road and you know, go
and perform the way we should perform. Do it?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
You got be fired up, QB. You got me fired up.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Be careful get hit by up there by the way.
That can't be good for you.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
Yeah he's only probably yeah he's only two twenty five
right now.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
But he's still in good shape. But yeah, when I
watch him.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
And and this is the thing, and I'll and I'll
say this, you know, sitting next to him, we're watching
the games. I watch him diagnose an offense so fast,
like he recognizes certain formations and things, and and he'll
make hand gestures like you think his screen come in
or he thinks it is going here. And you just
see the robotic nature of how he played and what

(16:05):
he looked at. And then the last week against Miami,
he took the headsets off and he said, Canalis knows
how to call plays?

Speaker 4 (16:12):
I said, what makes me say that?

Speaker 6 (16:14):
He goes, ah, he said, you know, Jake, he said,
he's keeping me confused on a couple of things.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
He said. And it's working, he said.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
And then again last week early on he goes he
can call plays. And that's one thing I think we
want to see, you know, David so meticulous and so
kind of like there's no pulse, right. I think he
has to stay that way. I go back to Miami.
They threw a flag on interference against team acting and
they picked it up. Well then why, I don't know
if you remember that play. That was a big play

(16:41):
in the game that was interference and then why pick
it up? Well, when the ref told him that, you know,
we're watching the monitors, and Canalis is like, well, why
did you throw it? Whereas I would have been like
all up in that referee for you know, the way
the way he said it, and then it's like, okay,
you had to hurry up and he had to go
call the next play.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
Like that's the thing where he stays kind of even
cute and him and Bryce's temperament seems like that's kind
of starting to work with us.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Good.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
Can we continue to build?

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Man?

Speaker 3 (17:12):
You get you confuse Luke Keekley who could guess every
play the other team was gonna run. You're on to something,
all right, Jake, that was great man, Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Have fun calling these games. We appreciate you well.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Thank you man. I appreciate it's fun to talk about man.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Thanks Jake, no doubt there you go, Jake. To let
me tell he's excited to Bony just like us.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
We will join us in a in a few weeks
early November, so that's on the docket. Excited for that also, Jake.
The first guest that Granny Pat has hit on all weeks.
There we go like Granty Pat's says, what, there's at
least one a week, Granny Patt, you settled down, Granny
hevites that Cajun season, and she says, I love Jake.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
I wish I was younger, But is it Jake also married? Like,
there's a lot of things that would have to be different. Randy,
I'm twenty nine and single. I'm still available.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Come back to me.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Then, she said, yesterday she liked the way you shake
your body. It's true, she liked your moves instead. You
got a lot of jiggle when we come back. Ashley
Stroline joins the show for a weekly spot. Sports Radio
ninety two seven WFNZ.

Speaker 7 (18:14):
Why I lost to Carolina.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Indeed, indeed, North is the Brice Young, nice young man
starting to come on.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
With developing quite well right now. But let's be real,
Bryce Young was always way.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
To the damn ufal.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
We always wait to the usail and y'all go off
to the Carolina y'all let him put that old bilical
bay bad barbecue on them up there. That's why I
was sluggish today.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
I'd like to put some barbecue sauce on that button.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
I don't know if you noticed, but I did not
talk to the media after the game a lot of yesterday, right,
and that you tell you how upset I was. I mean,
anytime I passed on the chance to get in front
of a camera and throw out a bunch of word salad, nonsensical,
unrelated stories. You can bet I'm pissed, right.

Speaker 8 (19:00):
I am a pish literally.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Burns from my rear end right there.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
I'm gonna go right now and get some soap, and
I'm gonna wash this out of my mouth, because that
fift the stuff.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
I gotta wash it out of my mouth. I don't
know what this.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Gallas Cowboys team is. I'd been lying to run them up.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
Let us straight.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
I don't know what they are, but I know it's
not good road.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
He called us out.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
You better buckle up, and we called in sick.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
It was pure vomit sickness.

Speaker 9 (19:35):
It was run to the toilet.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
It was diarrhea sickness.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
It was disgusting puke sickness, puke all over the floor sickness.

Speaker 9 (19:48):
Damn God.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
My sports weekend had me underway to Walmart to buy
a gallon of bleach and direct.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
They lost to the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
I could come on here all day long, but I
can't loud to myself no more. We not going no whork.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
We ain't going no further than our live Moon come playoffs.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
He's that's the forest.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Were going out, Damn go.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
I am so tired of my kids drawing me pictures
for my birthday and thinking that's a gift. I don't
want no crayon drawing of Jerry Junior and me holding
hands going fishing. You know, I mean, I put that
crap in the doc shredder as soon as he leaves
the room.

Speaker 10 (20:31):
I like Rice a lot. I think he still has potential.
He has a bad quarterback cadence. He's got kid voice.
He doesn't just look like a kid, he sounds like
a kid. I'd call that man daddy.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
I've loved this team since I was ten years old.
I just can't take it anymore.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
It's just it just rips my heart and my guts
out to even watch them suck.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Oh that's fun, isn't it. How about damn Cowboys? That
is right there all right? That is this week's Dallas
edition of the Montage of Misery and Cowboy Misery just
hits different bone. It does, but what do we have
in there? Michael Irvin's video after the game on Sunday.
Skip Bayless's YouTube video after the game. A gentleman named
Bubba Dubb that just freaks out over over Cowboy games apparently.

(21:20):
Is it some sort of comedian bony riend of Skips? Okay, oh,
that explains it. That excreaty on Fox quite a bit,
the Ticket radio in Dallas and also the fan in
Dallas as well, all helping us produce that beautiful montage
a cowboy misery.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
That's good, Boney, that's good.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Also, there's about forty five minutes on the cutting room
forest Skip Bayle was talking, I pulled so many clips
for you to put together.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Man, I just I Oh, that was so good.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
By the way, Skip, did he have to keep describing
how sick he's feeling right out? Did he have to like,
I feel like we got the point there, Skipping, No,
he probably got over dramatic audis.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Yeah, all right, let's let's ask our next guest.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Because actually, Stroline, after a week off, she was in Minnesota.
She's we're happy for she could be doing a bunch
of games with the t Wolves TV network. But she
is in Charlotte this week. She is ready to do
the Strow Show on the Mac and Bone show. Strow,
do you enjoy Did you enjoy that Cowboy misery?

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Strow?

Speaker 9 (22:16):
That was quite the little montage there of audio that
was very entertaining just in general, you know, not just
being a sports van.

Speaker 8 (22:26):
You love hearing hearing people's reactions.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
To a game.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Strow Bone has a great question for you. I do, yes,
and I am I stealing it, but I'm I don't
know what my question I'm stealing it, but I'm giving
you credit. You are then you are like one of
the nicest people, sweetest people we know.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Strow We try to get.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
You all the time to get involved in dust ups,
to say things about people, and you will not.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
You always take the high road.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
But I but Bone wanted to ask, do even you
find the Cowboy fans annoying as hell?

Speaker 8 (23:00):
It's so funny?

Speaker 9 (23:03):
I mean no, because they have passion for their I mean,
I know people love to hate them, but you have
to give them credit.

Speaker 7 (23:11):
I mean, you know, I've been to the last two
home games and.

Speaker 9 (23:15):
You obviously I've been proud of seeing the Panthers fans
that are there, stand up and here and make some noise,
especially when the visiting team, the Dolphins and.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
The Cowboys fans.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
We're trying to.

Speaker 7 (23:25):
Do all that.

Speaker 9 (23:26):
So I've been proud of what I've been seeing from
our fan base. But look, whether you love or hate them,
and there are.

Speaker 8 (23:32):
Some fan bases we all love to hate.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (23:35):
You do have to give people credit, I think, for
supporting their team.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
And I was shocked at how many Cowboys jerseys I
did see the other day.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
It was appalling and annoying, but god, they were quiet
walking out of their Strow. It was glorious for Bru.
There's your answer, bone, Strow. It's so nice. She said
nice things about the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
I'm not buying it. We'll get her. We'll get her
in a moment here of truth. Here at some point, Strow,
with the team now at five hundred, are you elevating
what you thought team could be?

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Are you staying the course? Where?

Speaker 1 (24:03):
What's the strong mindset right now on where the Panthers
are after six games?

Speaker 9 (24:08):
What are they say? You know postgame? We don't get
too high, we don't get too low.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
We're just trying to go one to know every week?

Speaker 9 (24:15):
Oh true, No, I mean, look, I think I think
what we've seen at home this year has been good
and exciting, and it's great to be at five hundred
for the first.

Speaker 8 (24:28):
Time since you know, November.

Speaker 9 (24:29):
Of twenty twenty one. But now the team's got to
go on the road, and I.

Speaker 8 (24:35):
Think, Okay, get another win this week and we'll all
be feeling better.

Speaker 9 (24:39):
I just truly, I always like to stay cautiously optimistic
because we've seen so many versions of this team already
this year, So you hope what.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
You've seen the last two weeks is is some growth in.

Speaker 8 (24:50):
The right direction. But I just like to stay where
I'm at with it. Like it doesn't mean I don't
think it's going to be successful or that they're not
going to go beat the Jet.

Speaker 9 (25:00):
I mean they better beat the Jets after what was
just where they're at in the season, and.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
Also after these last two wins.

Speaker 8 (25:06):
But it'll be a good test on the road because
all of their their wins have been at home so far.

Speaker 9 (25:11):
No, don't I don't want to get crazy with it,
but I do enjoy it, and it's been great to
have those back to back wins at home and see
a smile on Bryce's.

Speaker 8 (25:21):
Face and see the fans be happy and that kind
of thing.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
No doubt, it's been so much more fun to be
on the radio talking about this. But you are right,
there is a part of me that still has that
Panther paranoia, like could we mess this up and lose
to the Jets, Like that's the kind of thing bone
Unfortunately we've seen them do to us at time or two.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah, so I root for both teams. That's what's going
to happen. I don't need the Jets to win any games.
I need the Panthers to keep rolling. And now, yeah,
that that's my fear. Now watch the Jet show up
for one day, right, Yeah, Hey, they show up with
the worst time.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
So that there's a little fear of that going on.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Stro you Okay, so if you are a big enough person,
Strow to say nice things about the Cowboy fans, even
though I really wanted you to bash them, Okay, but
you didn't. You stay true to yourself. I am going
to be a big person today, all right. I'm motivated
by you, Strow. I'm gonna say nice things about Denny Hamlin,
who usually annoys the crap out of me as a driver,

(26:19):
and the whole persona he has and all that stuff.
First of all, that drive he made, which by the way,
included passing my favorite driver, Kyle Larson, who I thought
was going to win the race.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
That was amazing drive late. He is such a talent.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
He's tenth now tied for tenth all time and wins
with sixty and he's got a chance to race in
Phoenix for his first ever championship. I can't even even
I had to tip my hat to him Stro when
he got out of that car with tears in his
eyes talking about his dad who has been ill now
for a little while and how he did it for him.

(26:53):
What did you think of a moment like that for
racing strow And is there a side of Denny Hamlin
that we fans that BOO do not see of him?

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Like?

Speaker 2 (27:02):
What what do you think?

Speaker 9 (27:04):
Yeah, I mean, I think I think that's definitely the case.
And I think that's the case for a lot of
athletes or or people in the public eye right that
there's this persona.

Speaker 7 (27:13):
Especially for athletes, that.

Speaker 9 (27:14):
They like to tap into when they get in the
race car, take the field or whatever their sport is,
and they kind of channel that alter ego. I think
sometimes to help.

Speaker 7 (27:25):
Give them an edge mentally in their mind. And I
think Dinny, as we've.

Speaker 9 (27:29):
Talked about before, I certainly just embraced being the bad guy.
Like I think he would love to be loved, but
he mostly gets boozed. So he's like, you know what.

Speaker 7 (27:37):
That's cool.

Speaker 8 (27:38):
You want to hate me, I'll embrace that role.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Whatever.

Speaker 8 (27:40):
But then you have a moment like this weekend and
you watch that post race interview and it was very emotional,
and we haven't seen something like that from Denny, and obviously.

Speaker 7 (27:51):
There's a lot of layers to it, and.

Speaker 9 (27:54):
You know, those are the types of things that get
to me, like it made me want to cry, just
because obviously you.

Speaker 8 (27:59):
Know that that's coming from a point of I think.

Speaker 7 (28:02):
Everything he's going through, it's it's.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
A lot of emotions. Okay, you punch your ticket to
the one thing.

Speaker 9 (28:08):
That's eluded you your whole career at this point is
getting a championship. So now you know you get a
chance to do that. You did recently just become a
father again and to a little boy.

Speaker 7 (28:19):
He has, you know, the two daughters, and then.

Speaker 9 (28:23):
You know the dad.

Speaker 8 (28:24):
Stuff essentially to me is what brought out those emotions
and so you you know, whatever he's you know, going through.
Obviously you some thoughts, some prayers.

Speaker 9 (28:31):
To to Dinny and his dad and his family. But
then that emotion of Okay, my dad is sick, and okay,
I want to make him proud. No matter what age
you are, you always want.

Speaker 7 (28:43):
To make people proud. And so I think he knows
he's got a chance.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
To potentially, you know, in the next month, go go
win a championship and had his dad and hopefully see
that moment.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
I still don't want him to win the title bone,
but for that moment, man that.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
You had a question for stro Mac like a random one.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Right, I, oh yeah, we gotta do random questions at
the end, Well, I am stro I did tell you
on Sunday you seem to bond with everybody in Minnesota
really quick.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
That gave you a lot of Tea Wolves gear.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
You started wearing Minnesota Tea Wolves gear as you were
a part of the TV broadcast. You're posing for pictures
with your new friends on the broadcast crew.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Is it wrong that I'm a little jealous Strow.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
No, I think multiple emotions can be true at the
same time. So look, you guys, know, I have been
in Charlotte my whole career, and.

Speaker 8 (29:36):
I love the teams here.

Speaker 7 (29:37):
And I love the people here and all.

Speaker 8 (29:40):
The relationships I've been.

Speaker 7 (29:41):
Able to build through through sports and working in our industry.

Speaker 9 (29:44):
But Minnesota called and they had an opportunity. And I'm
not leaving Charlotte, you know, I'm still gonna be living here.
And just like Sunday and the Sunday before, I was
covering the Panthers and helping out and I do have
a Hornets.

Speaker 8 (29:58):
Game on this get be Hornets games, you know, freelancing
when I'm not with the Timberwolves. And I'll even do
some work for fandle for Hornets, and.

Speaker 9 (30:06):
So I'm not I'm not disappearing. But I will say
Minnesota was very nice.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
The fans you hear this foot The response.

Speaker 9 (30:15):
On social media was very welcoming. You never know when
you're the new girl, people love to hate you.

Speaker 8 (30:20):
But people were very sweet and and.

Speaker 9 (30:23):
I don't want to make anybody mad, but the organization
was really nice to your girls. So I'm excited for.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
I've heard we got to share stro The people in
Minnesota are vicious, mean, nasty people.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Wait soil, it gets cold and they're all grumpy strow
you all like.

Speaker 9 (30:38):
Them, Like they had on T shirts and I had
on a winter coat. I already know. Like they're like,
are you okay? I'm like, yeah, I'm from the South.
It's do y'all.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Oh my god, in like February, it's going to be
brutal for you. All right.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
We like to end with a random question or two.
Stro Here's one. What would your personal theme song days stroll?

Speaker 9 (30:59):
That's a true but hmmm, honestly, probably depends on my
mood for the day. I got to think about that one.
I mean, you guys have picked one for me and
whatever the sunshine that you play. But I got it, Okay,
I got to really put some effort into that because
I'm a big music girly.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
So what are we getting?

Speaker 8 (31:18):
We're getting By next week I'll have an answer.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
I got to sit down and think about it.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
The Minnesota friends immediately. How about this one?

Speaker 3 (31:27):
If you were a ghost, who or where would you haunt?

Speaker 9 (31:32):
Well, there might be a list of folks I can
think about causing a little chaos in their life. You
know if I was the ghost, Although, guys, I'd probably
be like Casper.

Speaker 8 (31:42):
Let's be real, I'd be like the friendly ghosts.

Speaker 7 (31:44):
I wouldn't be mean.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
And haunting Stro with the kindness at all. Seriously, now,
someone cannot be this kind fitty?

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Who would you haunt? Fitty?

Speaker 9 (31:52):
I have a moment where I would like pop up
in someone's house and be like, your cup just fell over.
It looks like you gotta clean that up.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Oh, I want to who what a nasty ghost?

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (32:02):
Strow?

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Who is that person? Strow?

Speaker 8 (32:05):
I can't I'm not at Liberty hants us every day.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
I'm telling you, there's a dastardly ex boyfriend out there
or something, and we want a piece of them strong.
We're gonna find We're gonna know, we're gonna find them.
All right, anyway, Stro, we appreciate. Malik says Stro should
run for mayor in Charlotte. She would win everybody's vote.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
So there you go. That's right, Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
You're running not Minneapolis nowhere.

Speaker 9 (32:30):
But that politics are not.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
In my future. That's no.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
In the house.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
I don't know if you could be nice in politics
in twenty twenty five, though, you know, I don't know
if that would work.

Speaker 9 (32:40):
No, I'd have to get mean and then people somebody
would try and come up with some weird mirror campaign
and then now.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Just cry no, do not spear strow were a dirty game.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
You gotta rull up your sieves if you want to
get in politics and play dirty.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Thank you for that one.

Speaker 9 (32:54):
Over seven Ay, they just pull up the audio from
this show and when I said some of the clips
that I'm not saying, so.

Speaker 8 (33:01):
You can't repurpose it again. But you know when when
t Bone was like.

Speaker 9 (33:05):
Coming up with his own nicknames, and I might have
repeated it, and then they would have me saying like
spicy you know what?

Speaker 3 (33:11):
And then oh yeah, Stro is still shook over the way.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Just how did I just say it?

Speaker 3 (33:19):
And if any Spapa, if you find any of these
people in Minnesota using that name, it's straight marked, all right,
You let me know Spicy Papa in Minnesota. Myron said,
I hope Stro's personal theme song is not a Taylor
Swift style.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
He's got something swift.

Speaker 9 (33:34):
No, I think it's because but I just think of
you Mac when the new album came out, and I
wondered if you were jamming out there's some good ones
in there.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Me and my daughter listened, me and my wife on
the back porch there's some good ones.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
By the way, she gets vicious in some of these songs.
Tell you she gets vicious. She got a little naughty
in some of these lyrics. To Stro, she did all
right anyway.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah will you?

Speaker 3 (34:00):
That would hurt your mayor campaign. Stro did not get
into these lyrics. All right, Stro, you rock, We'll talk
to you. We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 8 (34:07):
All right, guys too soon.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
All right, there you go, Ashley Stroll.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
I won't say a mean thing about anybody, at least
on our show, as hard as I try.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Opposite of us when we come back to wrap up
on Sports Radio ninety two seven w f n Z,

(34:37):
tell us tell left to post.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Cut sa sa sa Jack tar JACKO Sam not but
that us not but that us not.

Speaker 6 (34:57):
Then Hey got on, Hey, got on, Hey, guy on.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
That's the bartdo sold Botano head, that's Testagio.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Come back to doing DEDI hen nedio. There you go.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
There is the Panther Spanish Network on the game winning
field goal from Gerald the other day, The New York
Butcher Shop cut of the day.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Check them out on.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Instagram and Why Butcher Wine Bar, Dilworth, Cornelius, Indian Land
Fort Mill also and Carrie in in a couple of
weeks Belmont as well. All your food needs, dating, tailgates,
you know, parties at the house, Thanksgiving, It's all there
and why Butcher wine bar on Instagram.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
Shout out to Jime Morino, Antonio Ramos and the Panther
Spanish radio crew. That was a fixure bone back in
twenty fifteen when we back when we had highlights on
the regular, we couldn't get enough of the excitement. I mean,
it's like Andre's cantor gold call and that was the
Fisherald game winner, so that was very cool. Shout out

(36:02):
to those fellas. All right, Bone, we got to get
to the text here. Coming up in sports tonight, we
got Game two of the NLCS Dodgers lead one to zero.
After that ridiculous snell outing last night, do we get
a play?

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Can we get a playbone? As fun as that?

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Doubles at eight six to two double play last night
and Milwaukee pully canna get one like that?

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Yeah, that's like a once every hundred years play. That
was insane.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Bag.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
What were the numbers on at the eight to eight
six two eight six two? Because the K six two
I thought it was a song because the catcher ran,
he got the out at home and then ran.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
All the way to third himself and got the They
were the Dodgers are so confused. On the basement. Ball
bounced off the glove the wall into the gloves, so
it was not a catch. It was a live ball.
But anyway, let's see here the Hornets. No preseason to
night but tomorrow, right, Hornets Memphis tomorrow, Actly we.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Have our first preseason pregame. Show you go Bones.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Also Big Day tomorrow, Big Day tomorrow, Big What else
is happening to?

Speaker 2 (37:03):
I turned forty two tomorrow. That's right, it's Bone's birthday tomorrow.
Not just me.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Inspector Gadget also turns forty two. Now I'm the same
age as Inspector gadd You say a birthday with Inspector Gadget,
I do. I share a birthday with Hillary Clinton. I
can't remember the other ones, so advantage you probably Inspector
Gadget that. Go go Gadget arm Ever, go to the
to the email, send a hit, send on an email. No,
you never got that far. Now I should go there?

(37:28):
Forty five? Should I go there?

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Hillary is probably nay, Probably shouldn't go there, But neither should.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
I what's wrong with me? I can release the files
one day, Mac one day?

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Oh am I starting that up? Anyway, Let's do this.
Let's get into some of the w f and z
fandel text line.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
See what we have?

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Oh why not start with this one? Mac Bone, please
tell us you guys saw David Newton trolling Panther fans again?

Speaker 6 (37:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:52):
That did happen.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
New found himself in uh in the not the Good
Grace to the pandemic fans Mac for the first time
since Friday.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
It is unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
And I try to defend him by saying, I think
he just stumbles into these things.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Was he trying to do? Was he trying to make
Panther fans mad? Last night?

Speaker 3 (38:16):
For those of you that missed that, I didn't feel
like an accident on that. There was a what was it?
It was a video? There was a tweet basically talking
about the Panthers running game.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
Right, yeah, and he basically said it was.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
A It was a it was a quote tweet of
a McAfee comment about the Panthers getting how it was.
It was uh Orlowski about how bad the Panthers beat
the Cowboys in the trenches. Yeah, yeah, and he said, well,
they only did that to the defenses of Miami in Dallas,
they're not very good.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
It was a dig. That was a dig. It feels
like a dig. Why why is he doing this?

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Is he does he because some Usually I defend him
and say he's just kind of a loof.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
That doesn't feel like a loof.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Man, Why are you trying to piss off the fan
base is always mad at you and get them mad again.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
I don't get that one. I don't know the readers.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
And then I mean the Friday one I thought was
just I thought it was unfortunate.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Or he asked was that was a mental lapse where
he apologized for that one.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
But if y'all miss it on Friday, I mean he's
asking XL about the Cowboys or whatever. Excel says, my
dad rooted for the Cowboys, and then David says, well,
I guess he's not rooting for him Sunday And it
turns out XL didn't say anything. He handled it really well.
But XL has lost both his parents, not just his dad,
but both his parents. The thing that really hurts it,

(39:36):
and that one for Newt is fifteen months prior he
wrote an article about XL talking about both of his
parents passing.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Yeah, he like just forgot dad from a guard attack
and mom from cancer about a decade or so ago.
Very very class. You know he handled that. He handled
that well, man, he did back. I'm missing something here,
And does this go back to the pregame show. Why
does a person every day keep asking you Burston got
signed over and over again?

Speaker 5 (40:05):
What time?

Speaker 3 (40:05):
I guess that's our guy from the pregame showed it was.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
I don't know. I think he was drunk tonight.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Before your side comes in, Like every day I'm not understanding, like,
what's what's happening?

Speaker 2 (40:14):
That's got to be our guy from the pregame show.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
A five five four oh area go.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
I think he was so tanked. I think he still
thought Berson was still in the Panthers. Uh, he's still
I still tank. Now we've got we have a Texter
Garbonzo Beans who's apparently a lady on the text line
I never knew. She says, tell Granny Pat to stay
away from my man. And I said, who, Jake de
Lomer Fitty And she said, Jake, poor Fitty.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
I tried Fitty. He lost Garbonzo Beans?

Speaker 5 (40:41):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Does that person know their name is Garbonzo Beans?

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Like?

Speaker 2 (40:43):
Why is that a great question?

Speaker 3 (40:45):
How about the texter It said last time it was
fun being a Panthers fan was six years, eleven months,
and two days ago. Yeah, we figured out that's the
night before the Steeler game twenty.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Eighteen Steeler game. We were six and two.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
What hits camp and the arrest is a bunch of
horrible history until now, Until now, boney, this texter says,
you guys, no need to be paranoid about the Jets.
They don't have Garrett Wilson. They're only legitimate target. No
way we're losing this one. It's gonna want us to go.
Guarantee this want us go Louck City this week.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
I warn I'm gonna warn the locals there could be
a wax City well out brigade situation for you. Really, Yeah,
who knows these teams better than I do? Trust me,
if you know the Panthers, you should be very afraid
that this would be a very Panther thing to do.

(41:41):
I also know the Jets. By the way, so does America.
They watched that crap show the other day.

Speaker 3 (41:45):
But yes, London actually England now knows the Jets jack.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
Without Garrett Wilson have no shot, no shot. They don't
have anyone to catch the ball. But I don't know
who's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
On the roster by the But if Cuba gets back bone,
we could have a Slaw and Chili running That's a
suggestion for the nickname.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
For chewbn Rico Chili. That's another suggestion.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
We also have this suggestion bone Granny Pat, Fire and desire,
chewben Rico.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Granny Pat calls everybody fire and desire.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
How about this dude here that says, you've you've heard
of the island Puerto Rico. Now welcome to the island
Cuba Rico. Now that's good. You're like that? I would
say that's good.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
We're better than a swaw and barbecue whatever that one.
We also have a texture that says, why does the
man who goes by.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
A nickname hate nicknames? Do you do you think these
are good?

Speaker 6 (42:37):
Sir?

Speaker 2 (42:38):
To be fair, everyone on the show goes by a nickname.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
And do you think Slaw and Chili is a great
name for a running back? That might have been a misfire,
but isn't it fun? Don't you just laughing.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Don't see you ever see like Gus Johnson.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
Oh sah, Joey, how about this makes sense?

Speaker 2 (42:55):
What Dome Nebraska?

Speaker 3 (42:57):
Mike says, Matt rule, And don't worry, Matt rule is
not Lee Nebraska for that dump in Pennsylvania. I not
only would he leave, he wants to coach his alma
mater so badly. I bet he would pay Penn State
to be the coach. I mean, he just is so
frisky and I would like to ask the Penn State
leadership to look elsewhere, look elsewhere, please?

Speaker 2 (43:16):
All right, we go. I gotta get this one in.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
Trying not to talk playoffs as a Panther fan is
harder than Tony likes trying not to comment on a
local weather girl's happy birthday ig post. Come on, poor flounder,
poor flounder. All right, we're out of here, y'all. Good
work on the boat Man, the Fit Dog Charlotte Sports Today.
