Speaker 1 (00:00):
After a week off, she was in Minnesota. She's we're
happy for she could be doing a bunch of games
with the t Wolves TV network, but she is in
Charlotte this week. She is ready to do the Strow
Show on the Mac and Bone show, Strow do you
enjoy Did you enjoy that Cowboy misery? Strow?

Speaker 2 (00:16):
That was quite the little montage there of audio that
was very entertaining.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Just in general, you know, not being a sports.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Vane, you love hear hearing people's reactions.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
To a game.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Strow. Bone has a great question for you. I do yes,
and I am I stealing it, but I'm I don't
know what my question I'm stealing it By giving you
credit you are then you are like one of the
nicest people, sweetest people we know. Strow. We try to
get you all the time to get involved in dust ups,
to say things about people, and you will not. You
always take the high road. But I but Bone wanted

(00:52):
to ask, do even you find the Cowboy fans annoying
as hell?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
It's just so funny?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
I mean no, because they have passion.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
For their I mean, I know people love to hate them,
but you have to give them credit.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I mean, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I've been to the last two home games, and.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
You obviously, I've been proud of seeing.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
The Panthers fans that are there stand up and here
and make some noise, especially when the visiting team, the
Dolphins and the Cowboys fans, we're trying to do all that.
So I've been proud of what I've been seeing from
our fan base. But look, whether you love or hate them,
and there are some fan bases we all love to hate,
you do have to give people credit, I think, for
supporting their team. And I was shocked at how many

(01:40):
Cowboys jerseys I did see the other day.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
It was appalling and annoying, but god, they were quiet
walking out of their Strow It was glorious. But no,
there's your answer, bones, Strow. It's so nice. She said
nice things about the Cowboys. I'm not buying it.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
We'll get her. We'll get her in a moment here
of truth. Here at some point, Strow. With the team
now at five hundred, are you elevating what you say
thought this team could be?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Are you staying the course? Where?

Speaker 4 (02:04):
What's the strong mindset right now on where the Panthers
are after six games?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
What are they say? You know?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Postgame. We don't get too high, we don't get too low.
We're just trying to go one to know every week.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Oh true, No, I mean, look, I think I think
what we've seen at home this year has been good
and exciting, and it's great to be at five hundred
for the first time since you know, November of twenty
twenty one. But now the team's got to go on
the road, and.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I think, Okay, get another win this week.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
And we'll all be feeling better. I just truly, I
always like to stay cautiously optimistic because we've seen so
many versions of this team already this year.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
So you hope what you've seen the last two weeks
is is some growth in the right direction.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
But I just like to stay where I'm at with it.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Like it doesn't mean I don't think it's going to.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Be successful or that they're not going to go be
the Jets. I mean, they better beat the Jets after
what was just where they're at in the season.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
And also as to these last two wins, but it'll.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Be a good test on the road because all of
their their wins have been at home so far. No,
don't I don't want to get crazy with it, but
I do enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
And it's been great.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
To have those back to back wins at home and
see a smile on Bryce's face and see the fans
be happy and that kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
No doubt, it's been so much more fun to be
on the radio talking about this. But you are right,
there is a part of me that still has that
Panther paranoia, like could we mess this up and lose
to the Jets? Like that's the kind of thing bone
Unfortunately we've seen them do to us a time or two.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeahs, I root for both teams. That's what's going to happen.
I don't need the Jets to win any games. I
need the Panthers to keep rolling. And now, yeah, that
that's my fear. Now, watch the Jets show up for
one day, right, Yeah, they show up with the worst time.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
So that there's a little fear of that going on.
Stro you Okay, So if you are a big enough
person Strow to say nice things about the Cowboy fans,
even though I really wanted you to bash them, Okay,
but you didn't. You stay true to yourself. I am
going to be a big person today, all right. I'm
motivated by you Strow. I'm gonna say nice things about
Denny Hamlin, who usually annoys the crap out of me

(04:18):
as a driver, and the whole persona he has and
all that stuff. First of all, that drive he made,
which by the way, included passing my favorite driver, Kyle Larson,
who I thought was going to win the race. That
was amazing drive late. He is such a talent. He's
tenth now tied for tenth all time and wins with
sixty and he's got a chance to race in Phoenix

(04:38):
for his first ever championship. I can't even even I
had to tip my hat to him Stro when he
got out of that car with tears in his eyes
talking about his dad who has been ill now for
a little while, and how he did it for him.
What did you think of a moment like that for
racing Strow? And is there a side of Denny Hamlin

(04:58):
that we fans that Boo do not see of him? Like,
what do you think?

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I mean, I think I think that's definitely the case.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
And I think that's the case for a lot of athletes.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Or or people in the public eye right that there's this.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Persona, especially for athletes that they.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Like to tap into when they get in the race car,
take the field, or whatever their.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Sport is, and they kind of channel that alter.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Ego I think sometimes to help.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Give them an edge mentally in their mind.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
And I think Dinny, as we've talked about before, I
certainly just embraced being the bad guy. Like I think
he would love to be loved, but he mostly gets boozed.
So he's like, you know what.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
That's cool. You want to hate me, I'll embrace that role. Whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
But then you have a moment like this weekend and
you watch that post race interview and it was very
emotional and we haven't seen something like that from Denny,
and obviously there's a lot of layers to it, and
you know, those are the types of things that get
to me, Like it made me want to cry, just
because obviously you know that's that's coming from a point

(06:02):
of I think everything he's going through, it's it's a
lot of emotions. Okay, you punch your ticket to the
one thing that's eluded.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
You your whole career at this.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Point is getting a championship. So now you know you
get a.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Chance to do that. You did recently just become a.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Father again, and to a little boy he has, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
The two daughters, and then.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
You know the dad stuff essentially to me is what
brought out those emotions, and so you you know, whatever
he's you know, going through, obviously you send thoughts some
prayers to to Dinny and his dad and his family.
But then that emotion of Okay, my dad is sick,
and okay, I want to make him proud.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
No matter what.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Age you are, you always want to.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Make make people proud. And so I think he knows
he's got a.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Chance to potentially, you know, in the next month, go
go win a championship and had his dad and hopefully
see that moment.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I still don't want him to win the title bone,
but for that moment, Man, for that A question for Stromac,
like a random one, right, I oh, yeah, we gotta
do random questions at the end, Well, I am stro
I did tell you on Sunday you seem to bond
with everybody in Minnesota really quick. That gave you a

(07:14):
lot of Tea Wolves gear. You started wearing Minnesota Tea
Wolves gear as you were a part of the TV broadcast.
You're posing for pictures with your new friends on the
broadcast crew, Is it wrong that I'm a little jealous strow.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
No, I think multiple emotions can be true at the
same time. So look, you guys know, I have been
in Charlotte my whole career.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
And I love the teams here and I love the
people here and all the relationships I've been.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Able to build through through sports and working in our industry.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
But Minnesota called and they had an opportunity. And I'm
not leaving Charlotte, you know, I'm still gonna be living here.
And just like Sunday and the Sunday.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Before, I was covering the Panthers and helping out.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
And I do have a Hornets.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Game on this sketch.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I'll still be at Hornets games, you know, freelancing when
I'm not with the Timberwolves, and I'll even do some
work for fandle for Hornets, And so.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
I'm not I'm not disappearing. But I will say Minnesota
was very nice.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
The fans you hear this foot the response on.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Social media was very welcoming. You never know, when you're
the new girl, people love to hate you.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
But people were very sweet and and.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
I don't want to make anybody mad, but the organization
was really nice.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
To your girls.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
So I'm excited for I've heard we got a share. Stro.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
The people in Minnesota are vicious, mean, nasty people.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
So it gets cold and they're all grumpy, Strow, you.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
All like them, Like they had on T shirts and
I had on a winter code. I already know.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Like they're like, are you okay? I'm like, yeah, I'm
from the South. It's y'all, Oh my.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
God, in like February, it's going to be brutal for you.
All Right. We like to end with a random question
or two. Stro. Here's one. What would your personal theme
song bes? Stro?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
That's hmmm, honestly, probably depends on my mood for the day.
I got to think about that one. I mean, you
guys have picked one for me and whatever the sunshine
aunguest that you play. But I got it, Okay, I
gotta really put some effort into that because I'm a
big music girly.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
So what are we getting?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
We're getting By next week I'll have an answer. I
got to sit down and think about it.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
You Minnesota friends immediately. How about this one? If you
were a ghost, who or where would you haunt?

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Well, there might be a list of folks I can
think about causing a little chaos.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
In their life. You know, if I was the ghost,
although gods, I'd probably be like Casper.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Let's be real, I'd be like the friendly ghosts. I
wouldn't be mean and haunting Stro with the kindness at all.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Seriously, now, someone cannot be this kind fitty? Who would
you haunt? Fitty?

Speaker 2 (09:52):
I have a moment where I would like pop up
in someone's house and be like, your cup just fell over.
It looks like you gotta clean that up.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Who what a nasty ghost?

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Strow? Who is that person? Strow?

Speaker 2 (10:05):
I can't I'm not at Liberty US every day.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I'm telling you there's a dastardly ex boyfriend out there
or something, and we want a piece of them.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Strong.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
We're gonna find We're gonna know, we're gonna find them,
all right. Anyway, Stro, we appreciate. Malik says Stro should
run for mayor in Charlotte. She would win everybody's vote.
So there you go. That's right, Charlotte. You're running not Minneapolis, Charlotte, nowhere.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
But that politics are not in my future. That's no.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
In the house. I don't know if you could be
nice in politics in twenty twenty five. Though, Yeah, I
don't know if that would work.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
No, I'd have to get mean, and then people somebody
would try and come up with some weird mirror campaign
and then I.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Just cry, no, do not smear Strow. We went dirty game.
You gotta rull up your sieves if you want to
get in politics and play dirty. Thank you for that one.
Over the seven. Ay, they just.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Pull up the audio from this show and when I say,
had some of the clips that I'm not saying, so
you can't repurpose it again. But you know when when
t Bone was like coming up with his own nicknames,
and I might have repeated it, and then they would
have me saying like spicy you know what?

Speaker 1 (11:11):
And then oh yeah, Stro is still shook over the
she won't say just how did I just say it?
And if any Spapa, if you find any of these
people Minnesota using that name, it's straight marked all right.
You want me know Spicy Papa in Minnesota. Myron said,
I hope Stro's personal theme song is not a Taylor

(11:32):
Swift style. He's got something swift.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
No, I think it's because but I just think of
you Mac. When the new album came out, and I
wondered if you were jamming out.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
There's some good ones in there. Me and my daughter listened,
me and my wife on the back porch. There's some
good ones. By the way, she gets vicious in some
of these songs. Tell you she gets vicious. She got
a little naughty in some of these lyrics. To Stro,
she did all right, anyway, yeah, come out alright, Stroe.
You that would hurt your mayor campaign? Stro did I

(12:02):
get into these lyrics? All right?

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Stro?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
You rock. We'll talk to you. We'll talk to you
next week, all right, guys,
