O presidente da Câmara de Lisboa, Carlos Moedas, lamentou o acidente no Elevador da Glória que vitimou 15 pessoas, classificando o dia como trágico e muito duro para a cidade. Todas as equipas da Câmara Municipal, do INEM, da Proteção Civil e dos bombeiros foram mobilizadas para socorrer as vítimas. Moedas declarou que Lisboa está de luto e sublinhou que esta tragédia nunca tinha acontecido na cidade, assegurando que as causas serão investigadas e explicadas oportunamente.
