Mirna Funk ist Autorin, Journalistin und Philosophin. In ihrem neuen Buch wirft sie einen Blick auf 5000 Jahre jüdische Ideengeschichte – und zieht überraschende Lehren für das Leben von heute.
Mirna Funk gehört zu den bekanntesten jüdischen Stimmen in Deutschland. Die gebürtige Berlinerin studierte Geschichte und Philosophie an der Berliner Humboldt-Universität und legte 2015 ihren ersten, viel besprochenen Roman »Winternähe« vor. In ihrem aktuellen Buch »Von Juden lernen« versucht Funk, jüdische Denkgeschichte mit aktuellen Debatten und Konflikten zu verbinden – zum Teil mit überraschenden Ergebnissen.
Im Podcast »Moreno+1« spricht Host Juan Moreno mit Funk über einige der von ihr vorgestellten Theorien. Das ethische Prinzip »tikkun olam« beispielsweise, also die Pflicht, die Welt zu verbessern, resultiert zwar durchaus in einer aktivistischen Haltung, strebt laut Funk aber nicht nach einer unerreichbaren Utopie. Gleichzeitig steht »Machloket«, das hebräische Wort für »Streitbarkeit« für eine zutiefst verankerte Toleranz gegenüber abweichenden Meinungen.
»Die Grundthese meines Buches ist, dass aufgrund des antiideologischen und antimissionarischen Charakters des Judentums gerade dort die Antworten auf die relevantesten Fragen der Jetztzeit zu finden sind. Wer die Welt in Unterdrückte und Unterdrücker, Gut und Böse, Menschen und Monster unterteilt, hat verloren«, so Funk.
