Rüdiger Maas ist Psychologe und leitet das Augsburger Institut für Generationenforschung. Seit Jahren forscht er zur Generation Z und neuerdings auch zur Nachfolgegeneration, der Generation Alpha. Maas ist davon überzeugt, dass die jüngere Generation nicht unbedingt fauler ist, als Generationen davor. »Es haben sich einfach nur die Rahmenbedingungen geändert. Arbeitnehmer brauchen die Jungen, weil immer mehr Alte in Rente gehen. Die Jungen sind in einer guten Verhandlungsposition und können Dinge durchsetzen, die früher unmöglich gewesen wären«, so Maas.
Im Podcast »Moreno+1« spricht Host Juan Moreno mit Rüdiger Maas über einige der Vorurteile, die Rund um die Generation Z existieren - sie sei faul, weniger kreativ, zu digital. Laut Maas ist an einigen dieser Vorurteile kaum etwas dran. Bei anderen durchaus. So ist Generation Z laut Studien die unglücklichste Generation seit dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges. »Und das kann auch daran liegen, dass es dieser jungen Generation recht gut geht und sie deutlich mehr Möglichkeiten hat, als die Generationen vor ihnen«, sagt Maas.
