This is the first episode of ‘NCDs Matter: Decoding India's Silent Epidemic.’ We give an overview of the problems of non-communicable diseases in India, including its epidemiology, risk factors, prevention strategies and management from the public health perspective.
In this episode, we hear from Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chairperson of the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, former Chief Scientist at the World Health Organisation, and former Director-General of the Indian Council of Medical Research. The episode also features Vimal Fernandes, who shares his experience of living with Diabetes. We also have a message from REACH’s Director, Dr Ramya Ananthakrishnan.
