Durante quase um mês, uma vaga de incêndios praticamente incontrolável já consumiu mais de 220 mil hectares de áreas rurais e de floresta em Portugal. É um drama humano para as populações que têm de enfrentar o fogo, muitas vezes sem qualquer espécie de ajuda. O próprio governo reconheceu que houve descoordenação. O secretário de Estado da Protecção Civil disse que foi momentânea, mas o que parece haver é descoordenação estrutural no terreno e nos comandos mesmo ao mais alto nível. É também uma autêntica tragédia ambiental e económica, com muitos milhões de euros de prejuízos e muita biodiversidade destruída.
