Em julho de 1995, cerca de oito mil homens e rapazes muçulmanos bósnios em idade de combater foram mortos na sequência do assalto militar das forças sérvias bósnias ao enclave de Srebrenica. Isto ocorreu a cinco meses do final da guerra civil na Bósnia-Herzegovina, que eclodiu durante a primavera de 1992.
Em maio do ano passado, a Assembleia Geral da ONU criou um Dia Internacional em Memória do Genocídio de Srebrenica na Bósnia-Herzegovina. Esse dia é assinalado a 11 de julho, precisamente a data em que gravámos este episódio, que conta com as memórias e comentários de Ricardo Alexandre, jornalista da TSF, comentador da SIC Notícias e investigador do Instituto Português de Relações Internacionais.
