S2E39: Cameron Hill | And it’s lights out - Supercars is a go!

On this week’s episode we’ve got Supercars driver Cameron Hill. The Canberra born racer, grew up with an engineering background with the guidance of his father Colin. Cameron Hill is a former karting, Formula Ford and Porsche Cup champion, showing the world that if you have the passion you’ll go a long way in the sport. He’s also raced competitively in Toyota 86’s and Super2’s. Now Cam’s headed for the big leagues, racing for Matt Stone Racing in Supercars for 2023.

Over the next two hours you will not only learn about Cam’s life on track, but we hear some hilarious stories off track. We chat about his family, racing superstitions, playing tennis (who knew?), early go-karting days (including Vegas), what it's like being tall and trying to fit into a go-kart, Formula Ford racing including the infamous Listec Wing, racing alongside Leanne Ferrier, advice from Garth Tander, racing Super2’s with Triple Eight Race Engineering, the highs and lows of Cam’s Toyota 86 series experiences, we learn Cam was originally gunning for the IndyCar route, advice for street circuits, Porsche Cup stories, what it will be like to race a Gen3 car in the Supercars lineup this season, how he met his girlfriend (this is a good one), Cam’s take on the Supercars charter system, and we deep dive into the BTS story of the 2022 Bathurst 6hr win.
