בעקבות ה־83:89 על באסקוניה, ניצחון חשוב שמעלה את המאזן אבל ממש לא מעלים את סימני השאלה. בפרק החדש דיברנו על הפער הגדול בין התוצאה לבין היכולת, ועל כך שגם אחרי ערב חיובי, ברור שמכבי תל אביב של העונה הנוכחית עדיין סובלת מחוסר כישרון ביחס לטופ של היורוליג. זה ניצחון אבל לא כזה שמרגיע.
אחד הנושאים המרכזיים שעלו הוא ההתקדמות היציבה של טי ג’יי ליף, שהופך בהדרגה לאחד מנקודות האור היחידות בסגל. ליף מתחיל לספק תרומה התקפית עקבית ומשחק חכם, אבל ההצלחה האישית שלו רק מחדדת את הבעיה הבאה: חוסר העומק. גם מול באסקוניה היה ברור שמכבי קצרה ברוטציה, מתקשה לייצר פתרונות מהספסל, והעומס על השחקנים המרכזיים הולך וגדל.

לקראת הדרבי הקרוב מול הפועל תל אביב, ניסינו להבין את השאלות שעומדות בפני עודד קטש בכל הנוגע לרישום הזרים: מי נותן את הערך הגבוה ביותר כרגע? מי מתאים למשחק הזה? ומי אולי צריך לשבת בחוץ בשלב הזה של העונה?
