A COP-30, realizada em Belém (PA), entrou em sua fase decisiva com quatro grandes temas políticos colocados no centro das discussões: melhorar os planos climáticos nacionais (NDCs), distribuir os US$ 300 bilhões prometidos em financiamento climático, abordar barreiras comerciais ligadas ao clima e reforçar a transparência nos relatórios de progresso climático. Além disso, há uma forte pressão para definir um “roadmap” para a redução de combustíveis fósseis. Uma coalizão de países europeus e do continente africano pede compromissos mais claros para a transição energética. Também há um esforço para reforçar os direitos territoriais de povos indígenas: um compromisso global de reconhecer e consolidar a posse da terra por comunidades tradicionais foi anunciado, envolvendo mais de 160 milhões de hectares.
