Whenever you turn on the news, there’s some story that’s just dark and mind-blowing, as if we’re living in a George Orwell book. And when you look up to the people who are supposed to make solutions to problems—elected people in government—what do you see? A group of people in disarray. It’s what happens when there's a complete lack of good, effective, and impactful leadership. But remember: as a citizen, you can get involved; you have the power to foster and ensure good leadership in the government.
In this episode, I discuss how the lack of good leadership—in Congress, and elsewhere in the U.S. government—impacts us all. I also explore the consequences of voter apathy, highlight what true and effective leadership looks like, and underscore what actions you can take as a citizen to ensure good leadership and governance.
“Leadership matters. Leadership is not about ego. Leadership is about doing the right thing at the right time, always for the people you represent—which is all the people.” - Jennifer Nassour
