Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Pass Podcast. It is Friday,
October tenth. The Ravens are getting ready to play the
Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at M and T Bank
Stadium at one o'clock. This is a big game for
the Ravens who were coming into this matchup one and
four and looking together. Season turned around and pointed in
the right direction. As the Ravens prepare for this game,
we had a chance to hear from head coach John Harplall.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Good seeing everybody appreciate you being here, good practice, locked in,
looking forward to playing the game. We had a special
guests here today for the crucial guests for the crew.
We had special guests here today for the crucial catch game.
Just amazing kids who are fighting and fight and got

(00:49):
a chance to spend time with our players and watch
practice and hang out with the guys a little bit
and just have a nice day. So it was just
great having them here. So we're all about that and
everything we can to fight cancer. What question do you have, John,
now Lamar.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Again with another pool week, not practicing just about Lamar
because they asked about Lamar.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
You say that that yeah, but then yeah, good I'm
gonna I'm gonna stay consistent. Let's stay consistent, and uh,
we're just gonna kind of go with the injury report
and roll with that and uh, there's a lot of
guys to talk about and we'll be okay, John, how
do you feel that the team responded all throughout practice

(01:32):
this week? Coming off this past Sunday? I thought I
felt like the team responded excellently. They they they were
locked in from the beginning, they have been all season. Uh,
they had a really really strong week of practice, excited
to go play the game. Uh, these guys are there.
They got the right temperament, They're the right kind of people,
and I'm proud to be coaching. I'm looking forward to

(01:55):
taking the field with them on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
If Lamar can't go, woul to.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Be Cooper rocket start.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
I'm gonna leave that out there too, just because I
don't have to say I'm not remarkable required as did
we put that out yet? Which who's the starting quarterback?

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Cooper?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
You're gonna be starting.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
It?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Just as I thought about it didn't make any sense
a right, Okay, that was easy.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
So Cooper is definitely starting off.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Okay, boy, you're tricky. You're tricky, Bron tricky unless Lamar starts. Well,
I guess that's it.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I guess we got everything done. Obviously added a couple
of safete Hamilton back in the practice chip book, wanted
to ask you, how's oard Areas Washington doing. I know
back in the spring he said he was hoping maybe
my November I mean, is that still doable for him?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's a great question. Pulled that one out for it,
and yeah, I would say from my iris state, he's
doing well, so uh, there's probably Uh, there's been no setback.
I know that we were talking November December back then.
Haven't heard anything to change that, so I'll be hoping
for that. Any progress card, Yeah, he was practicing this week,

(03:10):
limited practice this week moved around, so that's definitely progress.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
With Lamar Jackson missing the entire week of practice. Cooper
Rush had a chance to talk with the media and
here's what he had to say.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Cooper, after looking at the case after once are on Sunday,
what are some areas of proof that you are looking
to have edering if you if you're playing an executive.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Yeah, we're just looking to be more efficient, you know,
kind of just first second down especially, get more manageable
third downs. We're able to convey a few kind of
longer ones, but those are hard, those are rare, So
just more efficiency overall, get us going.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Is there anything to the idea of settling in so
to speak? I mean, obviously, you know, entered in the
Kansasity game last week. You know you're preparing to play.
But now with it being a second straight week where
you're preparing to start, does that make a difference as
far as how you feel about it.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
There's a little bit of a rhythm to it, a
rhythm you know, how you approach your week, and uh
I kind of I talked about last week getting more
reps and things like that and just get more time
with those guys. So I think there is a little
bit to that and does make a difference.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Goober, do anything during the week, Cooper to prepare for
a possible bad weather games?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
You do the traditional you know, you spray the ball,
some water here and there, and you know, I'm from Michigan,
played plenty of bad weather games and they're not fun. No,
they're not fun, but uh so we'll be ready. You
prepare for it, and it is what it is when
at the tape last week kind of thing you can
see about enough with some of the turn hours. Yeah,
just yeah, same page as guys and things like that.

(04:51):
You gotta take care of the ball, especially as a QB.
It's your job. So definitely want one back for sure,
the one to Derek. But uh, you know, you just
got to make decisions, trust your feet. That's usually leads
to good.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Things with you know, Lamar, you know we haven't seen
now in practice.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
I'm sure you're seeing them in the meeting of rooms.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Hell. Has he kind of been working through the injury.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yeah, he's doing everything you can. He's around still keeping
engaged in the meetings things like that, but trying to
get that body right and get it going. So he's
in here every day doing all you can.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
