Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome back to the Press Pass podcast. It's Tuesday, August nineteenth.
This is Cassi Cherigo and the Ravens just wrapped up
their training camp practice. First to hear from head coach
John Harbaugh.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Okay, great to see everybody here.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Very good day of practice at an end season wednesday plus,
since we're still in training camp, full pads, very spirited,
very physical on point practice.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
I was real happy with the guys.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I think we got better today and we had a
special treat we had double j here.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
He was here checking out the new.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Number ninety five, you know, the old number ninety five
and the new number ninety five. And they'll get a
chance to watch some film I think together.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I know, I know t.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Rob It really has a lot of respect for Jared's game,
so it's great to have him here. And we welcome
all the old players back.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
The tradition. The standard that they set.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Of excellence, I think is something in our guys respect
and they strive for and they even want to you know,
they want to raise the bar. So it's good to
have Jared back. What question do you have, Well, we're
gonna find out, you know, when your t rop still.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Out the proof he's not there yet. That's true.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
When he hits one of those hits, one of those
those inside shovels past screens like Double J did against
Pittsburgh against Hines Ward. Do you remember that one, Mike,
Then we'll put them in that category at that pointe. Yeah,
you can't even imagine that, right, No, t Roberts never, never,

(01:32):
in a million years. That's a great story. We'll all
be sitting around telling that one again for many years.
I'm sure the fans would be happy to hear that.
At some point I thought we were gonna get in
a fight. That's a story for another time.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
It's might be a little older, a little earlier the week, say,
but sometimes in the third p Sason game, that's works
the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
You've gone to number three dives for the whole game.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Have you thought about maybe the whole game for demlier
or do you think you might? No, I think it'd
be more similar to what we did this last game,
and go ahead and get coop of those reps getting
ready for the for the regular season, because that's you know,
this be lots of opportunity, you know, for a while.
But he's uh, he's uh, he wants those reps I
know for sure, So that's probably the way we'll go,

(02:16):
but we still have a whole week to decide.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
John, there's obviously a lot of outside interest in formulating
the fifty three.

Speaker 7 (02:22):
Men roster over the next week.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
I think a lot of outside focus tends to be
able to how a player contributes offensively or defensively. But
how challenging is that puzzle of trying to balance you know,
some long term upside potential for what they do with
their position group, but also you know special teams and
how important they have to fit in that way.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Well, it's a big part of it because you're gonna
go play games, you know, and your.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Roster needs to fill roles.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
There are roles that need to be fulfilled in the
game at a high level, and not just a guy
out there playing a position or doing something.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
He's got to do it at winning plus level.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
He's got to do it at a championship level even, and
so you need everybody in that role when whenever, whenever
any of us, all of us watch the game and
we're fans of the Ravens, we want to see you know,
that guy playing that position really well, whether it's a
nickel corner or whether it's a punt protection left guard
or a kickoff cover L four. We need that guy
playing at the highest championship level. So you've got a

(03:15):
factor what actually happens in the game, because you know
the future is now. I think George Allen said, is
that right. The future is now, and you've got to
get ready to play the games now. So that's a
big part of it.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
A few months of watching an these peoples now. And
he's not built like your average interior defensive.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Line, like your average Raven interior defensive lineman, right, Pete correct,
But he.

Speaker 8 (03:34):
Is I mean continues to just flash. Or that's what Roger,
what do you see out of him? The growth that
he's seen.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I see the same thing you see. I mean, it's
just he flashes. He's quick, he gives us a little
bit of a change of speed pitch maybe maybe I
don't know, maybe it's a fastball, maybe it's with movement.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
I mean, he's he's quick in there.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
We've we've got we've always had these the big, powerful
defensive lineman. But when we saw him on tape, we
liked him. And then he was still there. You know,
in the sixth round. It's like, maybe and fit the
prototype raven defensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Of the past.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
But we've got those guys still. But here's a guy
that can give us something a little different that we
haven't had. And I know we're all excited about that,
maybe like a pleasant surprise.

Speaker 9 (04:13):
Just how he's been able to impact who his people's
the kind of guy's been maybe a pleasant surprise quickly
he's been able to make an impact in two preseason games.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Well, you know, I think we all expect him to
come out and practice and play like this. I mean,
you never know, and he still has a lot to prove.
He hadn't played a regular season game yet, but he
will and I expect him to play at a really
high level. I mean, I think he's a really good player.
We all do. And uh, you know, he's gonna he's
gonna be out there, so he's gonna have to he's
gonna have to do it, you know, and he's preparing
now to do that.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
John, looking at these guys all summer, how important is
this week in this game when it comes to finalize
and prongs.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah, I think it's it's important, you know, and it's uh,
it's it's finalizing the roster as far as who's on it,
for sure, a lot of things are determined. You know,
we certainly want to stay healthy. That's a big part
of it too, but also, uh, spots to a degree,
but also roles to a degree. You know, who's going
to be active, who's gonna be playing these different roles
in these different special teams or packages, or who's gonna

(05:10):
who's going to rotate in a different positions. And then
the practice squad is really up up for major competition
as well. Guys to be on the practice squad because
the practice squad is part of our team, we look
at that as making the team. So uh, all those
all those opportunities are there for guys.

Speaker 10 (05:27):
Was there a.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Concerted effort I guess for Lamar for the offense to
for was may sideline.

Speaker 10 (05:31):
Shots as you guys did today or is that just
kind of help you run people from that?

Speaker 11 (05:35):
Well?

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I think you know you've watched it, you know pretty
much all camp. You see a lot of outside lane
throws in camp, and it's definitely something that's it's important
for us to be able to do every level down
the field. And even as you saw a lot of
the sideline sale, inside out, inside out, breaking type routes
towards the sideline because you know, with our offense, people
are gonna have to commit people in there to stop

(05:56):
the run and to stop you know, the quick passing
game and lamar. You know, so when they do that,
you know, then maybe they'll say, well, you know what,
make them throw the ball out there. And we'd like
to be able to say, hey, we really want to
do that. That's fine with us. So that's what we're
working on. One of the things working on.

Speaker 7 (06:11):
Derrick Henrys and your top table whole time this year.

Speaker 12 (06:18):
Where do you think I mean, you've been here in
a couple of years.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
I mean, what do you think it's all sat down?

Speaker 12 (06:22):
I mean, what do you think you'll stack up in?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
I mean that's a tough question for you know, I'm
kind of I haven't haven't done my stack on that yet,
but but I can't. I guess I'm the kind of
a Jim Brown guy. You know, I probably put Jim
Brown at the.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Top for me.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Uh, you know, Sanders and who else who else would
be in that list. Walter Payton, Oh my gosh, Walter Payton,
how do you how do you do it? You know, Dickerson,
how do you do it? There's so many greats, but uh,
in my mind, I think I think Derrick Henry is
in that category. I put him in that category with
those guys, you know, and and I know he still
feels like he's got a ton to prove, and and

(07:01):
I want him to prove a ton because.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
He's with the Ravens, you know.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
So I think I think it's time for him to
have is he is. He has a long way to
go in my mind. You know, he's got to He's
got a lot of work to do. Okay, I'm gonna
let him know that. So let's get some work done here.
Let's get some yards stacked up over the next few years. Okay,
then then he'll be the very best.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
How about that? I think that will motivate.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
Him, Dennis in a little bit, just kind of he's
in year two right now, just kind of what.

Speaker 7 (07:27):
If you have to bring high energy guy out here,
out of.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Here practice to that roomly defensive line.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
I say high energy is a very apt description. You know,
He's he brings it every single day. He's he's like that,
He's that's how he is all the time. He's like
that in the meeting, he's like that.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
On the practice field, he's like that, at lunch, dinner,
you know, in his office by himself, he's like that.
You know, he's he's he just brings it all the time.
And I think the players really appreciate that and reflect
it so many times. You know, your players will reflect
the personality of their coach, you know, and you gotta
have that in the D line. And it's a it's
such a it's such a battling there. It's just so chaotic.

(08:05):
It's crazy, you know, the fight that goes on the
trenches in football, and you got to be bringing it
every play. You know, there's a lot of it's controlled violence,
you know, it's it's football violence, but it's very violent
and uh. And I think Dennis is a is a
great does a great job of kind of making that
important and then teaching the guys how to do it
effectively really more than anything.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
And the energy is important, but it's.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Got to be directed in a really a really effective way,
and he's he's a great teacher that way.

Speaker 10 (08:31):
You're pretty much settle the deal from the line that we've
seen that's been in the expect, you know, to be important.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, and then we you know, we'll
be working on that, and then those guys cohesiveness, and
then who the extra alignment is, and then how how
we work the backup rotational spots and who's going to
be active those kinds of things. And also i'd say
the nine too is a little bit up in the
air in flux right now, you know, which I'd say,
we got the five, you know, now what's the nine?

Speaker 2 (08:57):
If we keep nine? Uh, do you keep ten?

Speaker 3 (08:59):
You know, it's hard to do, but we have ten
worthy guys for sure, and then the practice squad guys
are all kind of up in the air right now.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Well, he can't leave a little bit early as anything
can share on that.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, he's okay.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I didn't get any report on that, so I think
he's probably okay.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
All right, great, thanks.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Defensive line coach Dennis Johnson spoke with media about his group.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
We're going to talk to me as peoples in a
couple of minutes here. Obviously some of you guys like
coming out of the draft, But what kind of stands
out is he's not the prototypical size most of your room.
What's really still out about him and what allows him
to combat the.

Speaker 7 (09:39):
Fact that he's not as big as some of your
typical needits of line.

Speaker 13 (09:43):
Philip is one of the most explosive defensive linemen I've
ever coached or evaluated on tape. He uses his explosiveness obviously,
like in the run and in the past and he
gets his hands on people, you know, quick and then
they can get their hands on him. And so in
the run game that helps him a lot. Obviously in
the past game he's good with transitioning, getting on edges.

(10:05):
That's kind of probably what pops off just naturally on tape.
But taking that explosiveness and you know, put it in
the way that we play our run technique, you know,
with square paths and fast hands and all the things
kind of has helped him kind of like you know,
rise with charts as it relates to competing out here.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Where does he both take steps forward the last of leeks?
And did you expect him to have the two games that.

Speaker 13 (10:25):
He did the way he practiced, I expected him to
perform well, so yes, But he prepares like the guys
in our group. I mean, you got beaks, you got
trav you got broad, you have people who have you know,
a lot of reps under their belt that's also in there,
you know, guiding them and helping him along the way.
And so for him to take you know, the prep

(10:46):
off the field and then bring the energy and the
effort and the wont to and the technique on the field,
kind of expecting him to perform well, yes.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
Sir, and that's a yeah, I know, you gotta just
start to serepare for week one right now. Yeah, conceivedly
like your best.

Speaker 10 (11:02):
However, many pass rushers to any of them, I guess
could be kind of double teams on any given pass
rusus situation.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Does that make your job tougher or easier if you
kind of think about game plans and how to counteract
with other teams are serving.

Speaker 13 (11:13):
You guys, whenever you're game planning for pass rush and
stuff like that, you want to try to create ways
to get one on ones with those guys, you know,
whether it's how you present something or you know, a
formation or whatever that might be. And so you know,
just as coaches and Zach does an incredible job of
you know, calling it that way, and we kind of

(11:33):
do a good job of working in that way to
create those one on ones. Now if it is times
where you know guys are getting double right, I mean
that doesn't take away expectation of getting pushed or still
disrupting the passer. But then somebody somewhere else is getting
one on one, you know, and so just playing it
as a group, you know, rushing and attacking the quarterback
with four or five whatever the call requires.

Speaker 12 (11:53):
It's kind of like how we approach it.

Speaker 11 (11:55):
And I know you don't have the final call, but
amazing consolation with a lot of people, how difficult are
the roster decision's gonna be?

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Is how wild a bunch of your guys in the way?

Speaker 13 (12:04):
Uh, It's incredibly difficult. Uh, kind of like what Cultuar's
harp said before. You know, it's a good problem because
you got guys out here competing. You got guys every
day showing up giving it everything that they have. You
got guys who come out here learning new plays, new
techniques for the first time in their career, and like
just hitting it a hundred per not bad or not.

(12:27):
If someone makes an error, like they shake it and
they come right back to it and get better at it.
And so that right there just raises the level of
the group, which raises the level of the defense, which
raises the level of the team. And so having that,
you know, closeness and competitiveness.

Speaker 12 (12:43):
I mean, it's a good thing. We don't look at
it like a bad thing when it comes down to
it at the end.

Speaker 14 (12:48):
Is there anyone who's surprised you who as a camp
they've had.

Speaker 12 (12:52):
A couple I will say Big CJ for sure. Just
remember him.

Speaker 13 (12:58):
He's walking in here, you know, raw, but really taking
to the techniques and wanting to be good and wanting
to learn. And again it's it's a room full of
guys who who are gonna put on their work hat
every day and show up. So if you don't, it's
kind of you you would stand out. And just allowing
himself to be coached hard, to be pushed hard past

(13:19):
probably what he's used to.

Speaker 12 (13:22):
So Big CJ for sure. I mean, and all the guys,
I mean.

Speaker 13 (13:26):
Cam Fub, you know, rookies, Jason, I mean, every one
of those guys have have really come in and you know,
kind of exceeded expectations a little bit.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Then is the next phase of the development of Travis
Jones is.

Speaker 13 (13:42):
I expect Travis to be the best player on the
field whenever he's on the field in general. And I
think that Travis expects that's for himself, just to be
more dominant and be more consistent with being dominant.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
You know.

Speaker 13 (13:53):
Last year, you know, had some injuries up and down,
but really looking for this year for him just to
really go out there, you know, from the start to
the finish, and just be up the powerful run, stopping,
pass rushing, nose tackle that he is.

Speaker 9 (14:07):
Going.

Speaker 8 (14:07):
Their their race off the field a little extra competition.
Did you did you encourage that.

Speaker 13 (14:13):
Or do you see and just what are you what
do you see it that they compete in everything that
they do with those two It doesn't matter. It could
be a question acting a meeting, it could be out
here in a practice, it could be a pass rush,
it could be show, it could be on a walkthrough.
I mean they're almost like joining at the hip a
little bit, you know, And they spend a lot of
time together, you know, on the field, which is and
especially in the interior part of the d line, like

(14:33):
you know with people refer Chesta trenches like you need
a brother in arms, and like they spend enough time
off the field together, on the field together and they
play together as one and so attacking the field or
getting off the field to them, it's it's all about
being competitive.

Speaker 10 (14:48):
It's a couple of drafts that's pass special last year
I think happened at that club move, that home move.
I guess how over here is that To have that
and you to a lag and to be able to
kind of use it successfully.

Speaker 13 (15:00):
As he does, I mean, you gotta be a powerful
individual to do it. You know, it's a power move
and I know, uh, Chuck works on it with him
a lot too, you know, sometimes pre practice and post practice,
and so it's a move that he's seen that he
wanted to really you know, kind of make his own.
And he's still working at it as I mean you've
seen in games before show up.

Speaker 12 (15:18):
But I mean it's it's not a move.

Speaker 13 (15:20):
For everybody, y, you know what I'm saying, Like, you
have to have some some strength to you and some
natural power to execute it, cause i mean you're talking about,
you know, moving a grown man against his will basically,
you know, with with power and leverage, and so it's
it's gona be challenging.

Speaker 14 (15:35):
It's a good question Zach was talking about whole Convernan
is to bring Brent Urban back. What has it been
like for.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
You to have him back?

Speaker 13 (15:42):
I missed Herb when he wasn't around Herb, Like I
still remember when I first got here and just how
you know, comforting Herb can be in in a room,
in a setting, on a field, a vent with a
lot of experience. He could take techniques sometimes tweak 'em
and make make 'em his own a little bit, but
being very effective with it.

Speaker 12 (16:00):
In the mean room, he's he's awesome.

Speaker 13 (16:03):
You know, if somebody doesn't completely understand something, you know,
he was like, h it's you know, kind of like this,
you know for the person that doesn't understand it. Always
a joy, always smiling. You know, it could be in
the middle of camp it's super hot. You know, we
don't rent tempo and all type of deals, and you
know he's still got that big smell, like come on, guys,
we got it.

Speaker 12 (16:22):
Love having Heurb around.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
What do you like about John Jenkins as you guys
try to feel that, you know, collectively fill the boy
that Michael pierces cut.

Speaker 13 (16:28):
I mean, John very similar to Herb, Like high energy guy,
very smart, intelligent, you know, taking to.

Speaker 12 (16:35):
The defense with ease, a little bit taking to.

Speaker 13 (16:38):
Some of the techniques with ease a little bit, and
he's you know, he's been around the league and so
he's he's he's brought things that he's learned in his career,
you know, here, and the things that you know, he
feels like can help with the play. He kind of like,
you know, brings up. But I like having a John around.
John's is awesome. He's incredible.

Speaker 12 (16:56):
Right, have a good one.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Veteran Broderick Washington address the media.

Speaker 11 (17:07):
Hello, everyone, What up? I'm good?

Speaker 12 (17:10):
How you doing good?

Speaker 11 (17:11):
It's good.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
It's good.

Speaker 6 (17:14):
You been through a few of these training camps and preseasons.
At this point a little different for you that you're
not playing in the preseason game.

Speaker 7 (17:19):
Just how excited?

Speaker 6 (17:20):
How are you to kind of get to the next
step now and then start the regular season.

Speaker 11 (17:26):
I can't wait start by saying that, But you know,
I'm just embracing it, brasing the journeys, cheering the young
guys on. It's been exciting watching them fly around.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Though.

Speaker 11 (17:40):
You see those guys the other day versus Dallas, I
was crazy, but just embrasing the journey, taking it one
day at a time, right, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
I don't think we're surprised to see you after a game.

Speaker 10 (17:54):
We should don't play chair at the locker room the
U four in the morning for the half, but to
see guys like Krey Pollack, guys who can play also
joining you less his twelve families have to play played
or what are that kind of stuff speak that say?

Speaker 11 (18:09):
I think it just speaks to the hung of the team.
I think we got a lot of guys that are hungry,
whether that's for a job or championship. I think we
got a group that's hungry.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
That is what have you seen from.

Speaker 14 (18:23):
Thubblist training camp? And how is he surprising in anyway?

Speaker 11 (18:29):
Ball of energy? That boy can flat out rush the
passa and there's he could also play the run really
well too. I think he's gonna surprise a lot of
people in that aspect of his game. But it's just
awesome to watch him fly around out there, really excited
for him.

Speaker 8 (18:47):
You see it on his shoulder because he's a little
undersized personally or Ravens.

Speaker 11 (18:52):
Interior Linement definitely like me and him would be off talking.
He be like, I can't wait to show folks like
I could play the run, like I'm more than just
a pass rusher and like he's chasing it, Like he's
in the weight room with me, trave and other guys
like trying to get stronger and he's working at it.
So I just can't wait for him to show off

(19:12):
what he can really do, right, you know what.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
Deaf is his best trade is as a pass.

Speaker 12 (19:16):
Rusher, but.

Speaker 11 (19:18):
His explosiveness. The boy can get out the rock and
he got a lot of wiggle to him too, So
those big offensive linemen, they gonna have a tough time
with him.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Brodie, How different has this training camp been compared to
last year with Zach Rz taking over the defense, It's
a lot of new. Does it feel any different this years?

Speaker 11 (19:38):
Yeah? I think I think everybody's bought in, really, and shoot,
I I think everybody's bought in, and like I feel
like as a unit, like we're more together, and I
think that's been the biggest difference.

Speaker 14 (19:55):
Presure was just talking about Dennis Shawnson's energy. What has
it been like year two with him and what are
some of the things that he's taught you that maybe
other coaches you had haven't brought.

Speaker 11 (20:09):
I would say to speak to his energy, it's it's outstanding.
I think if you're a new guy's kind of annoying
just because he's always yelling. But I mean you get
the game day. I heard Folk say this the other day,
just talking about the game or whatever. He was like
in the back of his head he could hear Dennis

(20:29):
yelling at him telling him to run to the ball.
But I mean he's a technician and like he's on
every little detail, and I think the way he coaches,
like he leaves no stone unturned. We watch every player
of practice, so like there's no guessing or anything with him.

(20:51):
Great coach, great coach. Right.

Speaker 10 (20:55):
Good as then how last year he did hurt are
resonating or because as most of their damage was on
the round with.

Speaker 11 (21:02):
You guys, oh yeah, it sucked. It was bad, and
we pride ourselves on not letting people run the ball,
so like that fall on to the front really, so
I think everybody took that pretty tough, and we've been
working at it every day to be the best group
that we could be.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I think we also.

Speaker 7 (21:23):
Will kind of start Travis got off to last year
before he hurt the ankle, and I mean he played
through it, but we know he wasn't a hundred percent
With that in mind, what's the next step for him
as far as kind of becoming a household game around
the league?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
You know what you can do.

Speaker 11 (21:38):
To be honest, he gonna put it all together this
year and he stay healthy. He gonna be the best
nose tackle in the game. He got all the traits
and abilities to be that guy, and I'm excited for him.
I can't wait to watch it. I can't wait, Ardie.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
How much are you looking forward to Week one, not
just because of the opponent, but also that limit of
not playing in these preseason games.

Speaker 11 (22:02):
I can't wait. I'm super excited. But again, I'm just
taking it one day at a time. I think that's
the best thing that I got going for myself right now,
and I'm just the main thing for me is just
stacking days until it is weak one and then just
continue to do that. Appreciate you. You have appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
You rookie defensive linemen and these peoples broke down his game.

Speaker 8 (22:34):
Dude, do you have a chip on your shoulder? As
quote unquote undersized interior defensive lineman wanted to prove that
you know that that that's not that doesn't matter.

Speaker 15 (22:45):
I probably wouldn't go as far as saying that chip
on my shoulder. You know, I think it's something more
that's just like intrinsic for me. You know, I've always
just wanted to be the kind of guy that's dominating
this league one day. So you know, that's just kind
of how I go out and approach every practice, and
approach every day and approach everyone work out. You know, Like,
I wouldn't say it's a personal tip to anything that
has to do with my stature. It's just kind of
something that transic in me, which you know, my role

(23:07):
models instilled in me.

Speaker 9 (23:08):
Well, how would you self evaluate the last couple of weeks?
Where do you feel like you've come along the most
of this training camp?

Speaker 15 (23:13):
Yeah, I mean I feel like I've definitely improved as
a run defender. You know, that's definitely something that you know,
I felt like that's a part of my game that
I needed to improve, and I felt like over these
last couple of weeks, I've definitely done that, you know,
just striving for more.

Speaker 9 (23:25):
By so that you guys had a conversation, You're like,
I can't wait to show people that I can to
be that guy that's one of the minds that you
came in with to prove that that side of.

Speaker 15 (23:33):
Your game A thousand percent. You know, that's just I mean,
it's just one of the things that you know, going
through this whole draft process that I went through a
couple of months ago, that they said I couldn't do. So,
you know, that's what I set out to prove.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
I was saying, even though you don't look like the
Purge had the full.

Speaker 14 (23:47):
Linement they have right now, that you bring something different,
how would you describe what different element you've bring to
the d R.

Speaker 15 (23:53):
Yeah, you know, I mean I just feel like I'm
just not I guess stature wise, you know, the typical
Ravens d Linman. But you know, I feel at the
end of the day, I mean, the Ravens always have
killers up front, so you know, so I might not
be the prototypical size of a Ravens d Limon they
want to say, but you know, you know, thankfully the

(24:14):
Ravens saw something to me to make me a Ravens
d Limen.

Speaker 14 (24:16):
So do you feel like you play a little different
than the other guys and can bring something different?

Speaker 15 (24:20):
One thousand percent? You know, I just feel like my
game is primarily based off my quickness, you know, my
ability to change direction, you know, my leverage. Those are
two things that I really try to you know, emphasizing
my game.

Speaker 9 (24:35):
Well, if you had said at the start of training camp,
then working with a guy like Nomnie, you might be
a little star struck at first.

Speaker 5 (24:41):
What's it been like working with him? How is he
healthy along as lost fious?

Speaker 15 (24:44):
Yeah, I mean, I mean he's great, you know. I mean,
it's just a phenomenal person to watch, you know, go
to work. You know, he's a perfect role model for
somebody you know, like myself or any young d Liman
wanted to learn how to domain the league one day
similar to he's doing now and we'll continue to do,
you know, just being able to just watch him and
see how he works and not only him leading by example,
but also you know, telling me things I can improve
on my game. So, I mean, he's been a great

(25:06):
role model so far.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
When you got a really good play today, it looked
like you blew up one of the rung players the
starting offense was trying to run. I mean, when you
have moments like that and you're making plays in the
backfield against the starting offense, what does What does that
do for your confidence?

Speaker 15 (25:23):
I mean, it's just I mean, I guess it's just
kind of what I feel like I should be doing.
I guess, you know, it's not really something. I try
not to get too high or too low ever, you know,
because like while that play might be great, you know,
it's never as good as you think it is, and
it's never as bad as you think it is. So
you know, I just try to continue to take it
one step at a time, you know, just take everything
for what it is.

Speaker 8 (25:43):
The time of getting drafted to now, what is surprise
you the most about becoming an NFL player?

Speaker 15 (25:49):
What a surprise and the most of up becoming an
NFL player?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
I did not know that like that.

Speaker 15 (25:56):
Uh, I'll probably say how special the athletes are in
the NFL. You know, it's definitely something like I guess
in college, you're not used to every single offensive lineman
being just as fast as you you know's there's some
special athletes, especially in this building. So you know, just
going against guys like Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum, like,
you know, going next to those kind of guys like

(26:17):
I mean, every every every rep is definitely a mental
battle in a physical battle, you know, going against such
towns of athletes. Thank you.
