Speaker 2 (00:25):

Speaker 2 (00:32):
John, you were optimstic about Nate Wigans earlier in the week.
We saw him practice. How did he do and is

Speaker 3 (00:37):
He did, he did well, He's ready to go. Yep.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
What were your impressions of Orioles manager Craig Albernasky.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Great guy, great guy, love the accent.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Yeah, he and Eric, you know, Eric kind of fell
back into his Taunton mass speaking gyy right there.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
It's great having Craig here.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
We love the O's and we're excited about the future
for the O's and had a chance to spend some
time up in the up in Eric's office beforehand. I
had some questions, man, I had some baseball questions. You know,
it's a it's just neat, uh it's a great sport
and to see where's come. Right, we were talking about
how far it's come and how it's changed from the
old days. Of course I asked the million dollar question.

(01:18):
You know, guys used to bat for average. You know
what's changed, you know, and and and my theory was
so much of it is the pitching is so amazing,
and uh, coach told me that's true.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
So I felt good about that.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
But h but here in you know, the depth of
how deep they go into studying hitters and pitchers and
the science of it all nowadays is pretty incredible. So
so congrats to Craig and and you can have a
press conference right after this right here. Probably these guys
get you get your squared away. You don't have enough
of those in baseball. Well that's that's a good idea,

(01:54):
because they're not gonna go You guys are gonna go outside.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It's been quite the sports fleet. Jason Tatum here.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Yes, yeah today, Yeah, mine's still on football.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Of course, Dad.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It was great to meet.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
He was amazing, a nice, nice guy, big Ravens fan,
and uh uh yeah. A couple of our guys challenged
him to one on one. It didn't happen. It didn't happen.
Don't worry, No, it didn't happen. But yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
To talk to you.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Since Park Andrews is a new deal, how happy were
you to see that? And it's just a guy like that,
What do you think what kind of message you think
it sends for the rest of the organization when you
reward a guy who's kind of done done things the
right way?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Well, yeah, I mean I think that's been been the
raven way.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
You know, That's how Eric is operated, That's how Ozzie
operated Steve. Steve is a believer in that, and that's
the way it should be, you know. And uh, and
there's other guys. I mean, you know, we're trying to
getther guys done too, for sure, you know. And uh
but uh but Mark is uh, Marcus is everything you
want and football player as a coach, you know, he's
he shows up every day, he gives you everything he's got.

(03:02):
I don't care what it is. It's it's weightlifting, it's meetings,
it's it's the biggest stage, whatever it might be. He's
he's there and he's ready to go and having had
great season and just looking forward to to Sunday with
all the guys.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Okay, John, you.

Speaker 6 (03:18):
Know of course we didn't see them.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Why did did he did the practice?

Speaker 6 (03:21):
Go find did he look fine?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
He was a hundred percent good, hundred percent participation, full participation.
I believe that's how they designate it nowadays, and we
wisten a full participat.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
That was head coach John Harbaugh on the Ravens Press
Pass podcast, answering questions before the Ravens first of two
divisional games with the Steelers in the next five weeks.

Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
So Lamari leave, that's a practice.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Everyone gets all concerned now without there, So, how are
you feeling today.

Speaker 6 (04:27):
Feeling good? I feel like we had a productive day,
fast right day?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
How help wise?

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Are you feeling feel pretty good? Feel pretty good? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (04:37):
I know, I know you said you retired at answering
injury questions quick. If something happens during practice, does it
feel like you know what else can go wrong?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
At some point there you just put that aside.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
I mean probably at the moment, but then you gotta
put a put that aside and just lock you in
from what you out there?

Speaker 5 (04:55):
How you dealing with what's going on in the last
three games without felling a TV?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
But you guys want to take two of those though?

Speaker 6 (05:02):
Yeah, you know, I'm not I'm not ecstatic about that
at all. You know, Uh, I'm mad, but I'm happy
we got the wins when we did. But you know,
this past uh Thursday, thanksgave and night, I want happy
at all. You know, we had turnovers you know, uh
mister signments and like we wasn't us. So I'm not
happy about that at all. You know. But if I'm
not scoring a touchdown but we winning, who can be

(05:25):
mad at a loss? I'm at a win. You know,
I'll be mad at the losses or when you go.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
When you go through a stretch like the last few games,
where it hasn't been as good as it typically is
for you. Obviously you've set a high bar for yourself
as a professional. How do you approach that? Do you
change up your routine at all? Do you work harder?
Do you? You know some people even say when when
you're going through some tough things, maybe you try easier.
You know, like, how do you approach that as a professional? Whin? Yeah,
things aren't going for you personally the way you want

(05:51):
them to.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
Tell Uh, just stay the course, you know. I don't
change up anything. I just still be me at the
end of the day and just do what I was
supposed to do my job.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah. Where'd you get stepped on in practice? Uh?

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Yeah I did Wednesday? I did Wednesday, Wednesday I did.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:11):
Yeah, I want to name any name. Uh who stepped
on me? No, man, but supposed to be on our side.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
That's crazy.

Speaker 8 (06:26):
You've had a few weeks in a row where you've
you know, you've had like a day off each of
those few weeks.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Has that been.

Speaker 8 (06:33):
If you viewed that as sort of like critical too
strong a word, but but needed to you know, given
all the injuries you've had to deal with this year.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
Uh, I wouldn't even say injuries, you know, just rest day, look,
get a little extra rast day if anything, and that's it.

Speaker 9 (06:49):
Well, what have you in your experiences of playing the Steelers?
What have you learned about what it takes to win
this game?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (06:56):
Man, it's a turnover about a game. You know, team
who has the all the most and put the most
points on the board. That's gonna be the outcome of
who win the game basically, you know, and uh that's
our tour. But it's a huge rivalry.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Man.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
Uh, it's like a playoff game, you know. And right
now for the situation where is it definitely a playoff
game for us, you know, but it's like if we
wasn't in a situation, there's still be a playoff game
for the just because of the rivalry. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (07:21):
How you and the Mark Andrew's contracts got announced and
you found out about that?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (07:25):
I was, Well I found out when I when I
came back in the building the next day, cause I
didn't know, you know, I just heard him talking about it.
I'm like, what, that's crazy, you know. I'm definitely definitely
staty that's my guy for sure.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
More at one point, I think last week or over
the weekend, you clap back at uh radio guy in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
There's been some criticism about you and now being as
uh as elusive as you've been. Is that taught bothering
you or using his motivation? How are you handling it?

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Nah? You know it's always gonna be noise, man. I
feel like most of US NFL players are built off noise.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
You know.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
Was adversity, uh the uh rivalry, love tactics they try
to do, you know, but I don't worry about it.
Play football.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
You kind of fire you up a little bit? Does it?
Does it?

Speaker 6 (08:10):
Absolutely? Absolutely? I'll get a kick out of.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Did it?

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (08:16):
More than it was a Pittsburgh I didn't even know
it was a Pittsburgh fan and you guys just telling
me that. So that's I understand now, I understand that.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
What like, why uh why did you feel like you
to your point, like you hear criticism all the time,
and you know, publicly or probably or whatever the case is,
what how come you felt you need to sort of
get back at this a little.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
Bit just because I was I just had got on
the app and I seen it. I'm like, bro, so
I like just say, lets that's all. What about where.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Teams had me?

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Those teams are six and six.

Speaker 8 (08:48):
You guys still have everything in front of you, and
you got you know, just a thought about where thanks
are had it.

Speaker 6 (08:54):
Man, we just gotta focus on Pittsburgh right now. You know,
like you said, we're both six and six. Uh uh,
great defense always every time we CHAMPI it's a great defense.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
You know.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
In offense, I can say, you know, leading leading by
Aaron Rodgers of the future Hall of Famer. So we
just got a lock in and do what we supposed
to do.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
Y you talked about, you know, the Cincinnati game not
being happy with the turnovers and stuff. Well you get
a step away.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
From that, like how do you how do you view that.

Speaker 8 (09:22):
In terms of what you need to do to just
make sure that those things don't happen, Cause it's something
you you know, that doesn't happen very often to you.

Speaker 6 (09:28):
Yeah, man, you know that's unfortunate. Tip tipball interception. You know,
a guy guy making a great play against one of
our guys, guys doing the job. He's tryna block, you know,
but a guy made a great pass rush, trying to
get the ball a lot, try to pitch the machine
if I could, but hit my arm, uh me trying
to throw the ball put it back. Fumble. I didn't

(09:49):
think that was a fumble, but it's a fumber. I
guess things like that. We can't let that happen, you know, Uh,
especially in a divisional game, any game, not just a
division game, but any game. But a lot of NFL
games are won through turnover battles, you know, and that
team had a lot of possessions. We was getting off
the field, so that helped them out a lot. You know,
they put points on the ball we didn't, you know,
got a touch down, car back. Stuff like that happens

(10:11):
in those games. It's hard to win those games.

Speaker 7 (10:14):
Bar.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I mean, yeah, like you said, this is the your
biggest rival with the Steelers. Yeah, first places on the line.
I mean, per as from your perspective, I mean, how
big is the scheme for you?

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Every game is big, uh it it don't matter who
we playing. You know. Uh, Cincinnati game was big to me.
But it's just it's different because it's the Stellers. You know,
it's a rival game, so I know our crowd's gonna
be popping out their skin, you know, flowination always. You know,
it's it's like they playing football too, you know. But
you just gotta lock in on these games.

Speaker 9 (10:44):
What you talk to about the turnovers a few times.
I'm just curious how you as a as a team,
how you go about trying to avoid turnovers but also
not trying to play too cautious and worrying about it,
still playing your game at how.

Speaker 6 (10:54):
Do you kind of balance that, uh, when you running
the ball and the battles in your possession. You know,
when guys are running around you, you try to put
two hands on the wall or the raven claw, but
you gotta play free at the same time. You can't
be thinking about, oh I can't I can't fumble because
I feel like I got to mess with you. So
just play football with you.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Getting stepped on Wednesday? Were you just not able to
finish that practice or was just fewer reps for you
on Wednesday?

Speaker 6 (11:20):
It's supposed to be a rest day anyways. No, but
yeah on Wednesday, So no, just wonder chilla, you know,
let my feed just rest because it I got stepped on,
all right, no problem.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
