Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Past podcast. The date is Monday,
August eleventh, and it was another productive day of training
camp for the Ravens here at the under Armoured Performance Center.
After today's practice, we heard from head coach John Harbaugh
and outside linebackers coach Matt Robinson as well as outside
linebackers Tavius Robinson and David Ajabo. We'll get this podcast
(00:26):
started with Coach Harbaugh's post practice press conference.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
All right, good to see everybody. Appreciate everybody being here.
Good practice.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Hot.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I thought the guys did a really good job of
pushing through in terms of execution, focus, trying to take
care of the details. That's really what we were trying
to do. It's some fast mental practice and we did
a good job with that. So we'll have a different
practice tomorrow, more of a mental practice, and then we'll
be pointing towards the Dallas game on Saturday. Well, question, jab,
(01:00):
would you read uh Tyler of Linderbaum the hole door?
Oh well he snapped in there too. Yeah, we've got
you know, you just got to work on the contingencies.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
How would I rate him?
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, hopefully, you know, we had we've had that in
the past, like way back we had, Uh, we've had
linebackers kick field goals. We will we practiced and got
to talk about games like in Philly and you go
all the way back. So we've had we've had long snappers.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Hold.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
There's a lot of different things that can happen, so
you want to be prepared for every every possibility.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
John c.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
One of the kind of the overwatching teams. I thought
the first day US is how well the defense and
back ups played. The guys that news happened. You guys
an inside linebacker and a first two outside linebackers.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
How much is that complicated?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
You seligate things with me?
Speaker 5 (01:41):
Could you talked about it by him keeping.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Six outs up?
Speaker 5 (01:43):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, absolutely, Uh, it's I guess you'd say it's a
good problem to have. Uh, it's uh, it does complicate
it because there's more than more than the A lot
of number probably that are playing well enough to make
the team.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
I thought O D line, like you said, Uh, both
inside outside and the inside backers all played really well.
Our secondary played well too. On defense that those those
guys did well. So they'll get another chance again here
on Saturday, see how they do. But they've done well
in practice. So some of those guys are really coming along.
They're really improving some young player, developmental guys that have
been worked with with our coaches Dennis Johnson and Matt
(02:17):
Robinson and Chuck Smith and Tyler Santucci. I think those
coach has done a great job and we'll see what
they do on Saturday. John Lens Lens, I know what
Koye is a developmental guy.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
But do you see him as somebody who.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Could sort of play anywhere along the defensive line fits
equally or where do you see as well? More of
those guard probably, you know, I think you could play
three technique a little bit, or play you know, you
can play over the guard. You know, you can talk
about you know, a head up two technique or but
really more of a gap player probably i'd probably you know,
three hundred and seventy plus pounds. But he's really learning.
I mean, he's really learned how to come out of
his hips and strike and shed stay square in there,
(02:50):
play the run. He gets got some push in past
pass rush. He's gonna be a pocket pusher, uh take
you know, making good use of all that size he has.
Speaker 7 (02:58):
He's he's come light year.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
We talked a lot, we talked.
Speaker 8 (03:03):
With the past about David A. Jamo and obviously he's
in that story. Unfortunately, what you kind of you is
what you'd like to see his next step in the
percussion as he is he.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
David, Well, you know, I'll tell you. I mean I
saw a lot of in the game. I think he's
playing He's playing it very directly. You know, think about
David Jabo. It's important to remembers he's not a guy
that played a lot of football. You know, he was
late late to football in high school. Might have played
one year of high school football. Really when I played
one year of college football really is what he ended
up playing as far as a full season, and then
(03:35):
he got hurt, you know, coming out. So, uh, football
is kind of one of these games where the more
you play it, the better feel you have for it.
You know, it's like any sport probably. But I think
his I think his upside is really there and believe
that we'll see it. I think we've seen it already
in camp. I'm going forward to the game so everybody
can see it. Really, but yeah, that's uh, he's an
upside guy.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Malachi with the back of the end zone interception around
the state side.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
His boss, Gover was on tape in Bordia.
Speaker 9 (04:00):
Know what value do you think you could bring this
secondary as they kind of try to get more turnovers
with a you such as the series.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Absolutely probably, you know, if you're gonna sit there and say,
what was the one of the biggest reasons we drafted
him is because of that very reason right there. And
I think Zach has just made so many He's made
the point every day multiple times in meetings and practice,
field and everything else, about about getting the ball, about
taking the ball away, about assaulting the football, about catching
the ball when they throw it to you, about catching
(04:27):
tips and overthrows, all these different things that he's been
emphasizing and working. I think that guys are buying into
it in practice and they're making the ball. They're making
a lot of plays on the ball. So again, let's
take it to the games. And Malachi has a great
example of it. He just has great balls because he
has great range. You know, all those guys back there,
you saw one today with DeAndre made a great play.
So happy with those guys, Lisa as a kind of
(04:52):
strong game, like when you guys had your first preasing
in game, What where did you see throughout camp that
indicated that he might show up? Who said, Isaac, what
have you seen like maybe the little things from.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Them that we don't Yeah, great, great question.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
In the sense that he is really starting to play
with physicality, I would say that's probably the biggest thing
for me. He looks really strong coming off the edge.
He's knocking back tight ends, he's uh, he's stale meeting tackles,
and he's really hitting all those pull kickout schemes really well.
So in past Rush has been more physical too, So
the physicality probably would be the thing.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
John with long up there with the before. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (05:33):
Uh, you know that's a long term difficult.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, well, he's gonna get surgery. I can tell you
that as far as being a torn pateller tendon, you know,
define that, you know.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
That's that's a little bit vague.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
So he's doesn't you know, I can't really say what
he has, but it's it's you know, am I allowed
to say what it is?
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Hipp allowed me to tell you what it is?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
I can't, he says, no, But uh, it's it's something
that was deemed that uh that surged you it's the
best move for him, you know, and that's good. That's
a decision that every player and has a right to make,
and we support it, you know. So that's what he's
going to do. I love him the way he was playing,
was playing really well, and it's a little bit of
a setback for sure, because you know, it's kind of
(06:15):
starting to count on him and kind of BK two.
I mean, those two guys are really looking like they
could help us this year, but they're not going to
be there, you know, So we'll get them in rehab
and they'll be back next year.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
All Right, Okay, thanks lot, Thank you, guys.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
That was head coach John Harbaugh answering questions following today's
training camp practice. Next up, you'll hear from Matt Robinson,
the outside linebackers coach for your Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Maybe because a little.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Bit and over I mean appearing could trast the styles
between David.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Ajado and these eyes in terms of how its opponents
and how would get theirs matter.
Speaker 10 (06:57):
Actually there there are a lot of like in a
lot of ways. They they're both contact players. Uh, They're
they're long, they're strong, Uh, they're physical at the point
of attack.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Uh, they have really good power.
Speaker 10 (07:09):
At the top of their rush, and you know, I
think in a lot of ways, they're like, it's it's
fun watching them going go out there and compete.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Now, think about where a lot of the past rushing
guys at the start of camp.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Who's been the biggest surprise the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 10 (07:23):
Bigger surprise, I would say just the fact that you know,
Mike Green, you know, really pops out on tape. He
plays with kind of a relentless mindset. He's you know,
tenacious at the point of attack. I think you guys
have seen it in the games. Uh, you know, his
ability to kind of affect the effect the play on
pretty much every time he's in there. You know, he's
(07:44):
he's gonna set a violent edge, get pressure on the quarterback.
And I really like, I like, really like where he's
at right now.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
You know, John brought up physicality.
Speaker 9 (07:55):
We're talking about the dsaid contact player Cook and gave
a job. Doesn't both have some some tyfical injuries in
the last few years.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Is it tough.
Speaker 9 (08:05):
To kind of mentally get those guys back from injuries
and being the physical players they can be. Is it
sort of are they sort of reaching a point where
they're maybe over the hump of of kind of getting
their confidence.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Back from the sure Definitely.
Speaker 10 (08:18):
I think they came in ready to play h the
lower the lower half is starting to come back and
that allows them to play really strong at the point
of attack. And I'm excited for how that's kind of
developing right now. We've saw it in the first game,
We've been seeing it on the practice field, and I
I just can't wait to build off in Dallas.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Now we're talking to after you.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
Have you seen him add some sophistication to kind of
his past rusher arsenal.
Speaker 7 (08:44):
Levature, Yeah, he has, you know, he has a little bit.
Speaker 10 (08:46):
He's more of a physical presence, you know, he's a
dominant edsetter for us, and then he's been more of
a power rusher as of you know, in his first
couple of years. But I think right now he's definitely
working on some finesse moves on the edge that they
can work in some of his transition rushes, and I
think that'll be a nice piece, you know, to his game.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
First time talking to you, I.
Speaker 11 (09:06):
Know you've been here for five years, but how did
you kind of get involved as as a coaching fellow
and they know, were you always on that trajectory or
was it surprised you kind of latime like the bread
is the way.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
That you did.
Speaker 10 (09:19):
Yeah, I started coaching after I got done playing. I
started coaching at a high school here at Spaulding and
then uh moved on to Yukon with Etsel who was
my coach, and then transitioned to Maryland and then I
got my Actually, my wife has actually was really close
friends with Drew Wilkins's wife because they were both cheerleaders
at Maryland. And that's kind of how I got connected
(09:40):
here and kind of I was really trying to you know,
while I was at Maryland, I was really trying to
get a job here. I was trying to contact anybody
that would kind of kind of listen and uh, you know,
just give me an opportunity to come in and put
my head down to work.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
What's it been like to that point.
Speaker 9 (09:52):
What's it been like working on Chuck Smith?
Speaker 5 (09:54):
How has he kind of helped you along.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
The last two years.
Speaker 10 (09:56):
Yeah, Chuck has a great deal of knowledge, especially uh
in the pass rush and and just the tools that
he's been able to teach me and uh, the arsenal
that he equips our guys with. It's it's fun to
fun to learn with him. And he has a you know,
he played uh eight nine years in the league and
it's it's it's great to hear those stories. And yeah,
it's it's really nice working with Chuck. We see Chuck
(10:19):
has a little bit of intensity sometimes when he Joly talks
to us, to.
Speaker 8 (10:21):
The media and obviously out in the field too.
Speaker 9 (10:24):
Does he keep you on your toes a little bit
with his passione?
Speaker 10 (10:28):
Yeah, and we go out a little bit. You know,
it's all it's all fun. But you know, he's a
competitive guy and he just wants to bring the best
out of our players, and I think we all we
all want that, so uh, it's it's great.
Speaker 8 (10:42):
Similar to the earlier question, what do you want team
so far with David Jato in terms of those next
steps that needs.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
Tech, Yeah, really just in the game.
Speaker 10 (10:54):
Really want him to affect the game in kind of
different ways, whether it's you know, setting the dominant a
being a physical player, getting pocket pushed and then getting his.
Speaker 7 (11:03):
Body on the quarterback end.
Speaker 10 (11:04):
I think we saw him take steps in uh steps
towards that in the game, and he has a.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
Couple more opportunities to kind of prove that going forward.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
Watching TV is.
Speaker 11 (11:16):
I think one not want a lump Charlie Kullers Tilne
nine five.
Speaker 5 (11:22):
What is it like? What would you kind of.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Say AVI spring that position in terms of when he.
Speaker 11 (11:28):
Sees it to Ron, he knows it's coming his way, Like,
how hard is it for opposing tight ends.
Speaker 10 (11:33):
The match up with the physical race, you know, it's
it's it's awesome to watch because I usually know what
the result is going to be. You know, I think
he's gonna you know, really really put his hands on people,
get knocked back, change the line of scrimmage, forced ball
carriers to bounce, or he's gonna end up making a play.
I know the inside linebackers like playing behind him because
he's gonna change the line of scrimmage in front of him,
(11:55):
and usually it turns out good for the Ravens.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Between him and.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Charlie Puller, I guess how you seem the two of
them kind of push each other through.
Speaker 7 (12:02):
The past few years.
Speaker 10 (12:03):
That's been that's been great to watch because Charlie's gotten
a hell of a lot better just over the course
of these years. And as an inline blocker, and I
think going against our guys, it continues.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
You know, iron sharpens iron.
Speaker 10 (12:14):
So the you know, competitive joves that we do at
practice I think lead to you know, great results in
the game because we have a tremendous amount of talent
on both sides of the ball. So watching them those
guys compete, it's it's awesome to see that.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
You've been around the hallway for years now. I mean,
obviously much was made when we first saw Hi come
out for the summer about the book that he added,
and he's talked to us about it. Do you think
we're gonna see it of different elements his game the
street that will see a more forceful kind of version
of him or what's your sense of on that?
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (12:43):
Absolutely, the fact that he's changed his body.
Speaker 10 (12:45):
I think he's out to this guy's the limit for him,
and I think he's out to prove that he's you know,
a top you know five, top ten edge.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
Guy in the league.
Speaker 10 (12:53):
And you know, putting him on that extra mass is
going to allow him, I think, to take on the
wear and tear as a season go was on, you know,
with stand kind of that and still be a dominant
player down the stretch, and you know, I'm excited for
uh I'm excited for him, and you know, I'm looking
forward to kind of, you know, how he comes out.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Thanks for our friends at Penson.
Speaker 9 (13:14):
Everyone has talked about.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
I guess how have you seen that relationship play out?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Here?
Speaker 3 (13:17):
Has a Desa picked up things from odape?
Speaker 7 (13:21):
What are they like together?
Speaker 10 (13:23):
They're always you know, they're always joking and they're always
I think Decee is always trying to be in his
hip pocket a little bit, you know, pick up what
he can and they're a little bit of different players
at the point of attack at times. But I really
like uh their relationship is cool to see, and you
know the fact that the same thing with uh Jah
and and Dafit. It's cool to have guys who grew
(13:45):
up playing with each other. I think that relationship, you know,
helps them when they're out there. They can trust each
other and it's cool to watch. Thank you, Matt.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
Cool.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
You're listening to the Ravens Press Past podcast. That was
olb's coach Matt Robin. And now we have outside linebacker
Tavius Robinson answering questions after today's practice.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
So if you've had to compare yourself now on to
you a year ago or two years ago.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
You know what are the strikes?
Speaker 12 (14:16):
Yeah, just big strides I think, you know, going back
from year one and like looking at that film in
year two, it was like I'm like wow, like that,
this isn't good, you know what I mean? And then
and the year two you go looking back and it's
just like every year you're trying to get better and
looking back on old film, it's like, wow, I'm such
a better player now. So yeah, I think I'm just
continuing to take strides and continue to grow.
Speaker 11 (14:34):
So a point of pride for you that you didn't
even not bother with giving suited after.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
A preseason game.
Speaker 12 (14:39):
It definitely, you know, meant a lot that you know,
coaches trusting me, believe me, and yeah it was different
though it was weird not suiting up and going out there.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
So but yeah, for sure.
Speaker 8 (14:49):
We've seen you battle with Kolar a lot.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
I saw you say, battle Recard on a really good rep.
Speaker 8 (14:55):
That physicality has that been an emphasis for you?
Speaker 5 (14:57):
And are you strong but bigger? Are you heavier than
you were? Yeah? One hundred percent.
Speaker 12 (15:03):
Physicality is always like that's that's the the number one
part of my game one under and uh yeah, I'm
definitely strong. You know, it's been a great off season
here in the weight room. But yeah, you know, not
only is it my game, but it's it's the Ravens game.
So it's important to bring that every day.
Speaker 8 (15:17):
Would you make the business strides?
Speaker 5 (15:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (15:22):
Even Yeah, looking at from tape year one to year
two is just like seeing offensive formations better and being
able to play faster, play looser, and just make plays
off of that. So I think, you know, taking another
step this year and just continue to grow will definitely
be great.
Speaker 9 (15:36):
I'm curious, have you guys going back every and watched Jarrett.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
Johnson take you know, just kind of great, legendary.
Speaker 10 (15:41):
Very physical, see anybody that you talked to that.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
That I've watched. Not only that, but we wear the
same numbers, So I've watched.
Speaker 12 (15:50):
I've watched as many podcasts, as many like everything that
he's been on. Just trying to like tap into his
mental a little bit and you know his highlights as well,
because you know, he was a guy that you know,
maybe didn't get all the credit and stuff that he deserved,
you know, sack wise and passers wise, but he was
a dominant run defender, dominant physical, gritty player. So yeah,
I've been I've done a couple of deep dies on
(16:10):
him and kind of gone through his his career here,
and uh, yeah, he's a legend for sure.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
So it's a blessing to wear his number. Yeah, the
guy that kind one hundred percent.
Speaker 12 (16:20):
Yeah, the way he played, the physicality, the effort that
he played with one hundred percent.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Yeah, just a little bit.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Obviously, there's a number of guys who really pride themselves
as pass rushers from probably first.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Into over round greet annoyed.
Speaker 6 (16:34):
Do you look at your.
Speaker 8 (16:35):
Role when this too, being the early down and get
happy with that same kick inside of third down?
Speaker 5 (16:40):
Right to be out there?
Speaker 12 (16:42):
Yeah, I think that's something I'm always trying to improve on,
you know. But at the end of the day, Uh,
you know, it's a team sport, and and so if
my role is first and second down, you know, I'm
gonna do that to the best of my ability and
keep working to get you know, reps on third down.
But the most important thing to me is winning, and
whatever my role is, I have to do that to
the best of my ability.
Speaker 11 (16:58):
So earlier to your what do your Canadian friends say
about your career path?
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Yeah, a lot.
Speaker 12 (17:06):
It's you know, they're all really proud of me, and
I think, you know, Canada as a whole, like more
and more your guys you're getting drafted every year.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
So it's been great.
Speaker 12 (17:14):
You know, there's guys that I look up to, and
now for me, it's just important to you know, show
the youth that it's possible there and I just continue
to grow that number every years.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
He was, Yeah, he was one of those guys.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Mike Green had said that in that room of pass
rushers that you're the guy who looks up to You're
the guy who wants to emulate.
Speaker 9 (17:34):
You're the guy who's warning from what's.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
That dynamics been like?
Speaker 9 (17:36):
And how have you kind of been a mentor he
has it.
Speaker 12 (17:38):
Yeah, I'll tell you he's been a guy who who
has come in and just really like taking the details
from day one.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
And I love that.
Speaker 12 (17:44):
You know, he's on his playbook, he's he's taking great
notes every day we sit inside each other. So yeah,
really proud of him and the strides he's taken from
OTAs to now and I think he's gonna be He
has that dog mentality, He's gonna be a dog for
sure Canada.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Any of the time.
Speaker 12 (17:59):
And know that.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Brent said that he really praised his father for getting
involved in American teams because that was his chance to
get into college football.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
Yeah, it was your path point when you have to
get play from.
Speaker 12 (18:10):
My path was kind of I played university in Canada first,
so didn't really get any looks out of high school.
But yeah, after my two years in Canada, COVID kind
of led me to Old Miss and then from there.
You know, it was a blessing that COVID happened because
without that, I would I went to Old Miss and
then it's just a trickle effect.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
So yeah, we talked to Chuck Smith.
Speaker 8 (18:30):
A bunch and sort of have a good sense of
the energy that you bring.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
So we just talked to Matt Robinson. What's he like
in that room.
Speaker 12 (18:34):
Yeah, Chuck brings the energy every day. You know, he's
always getting us better, getting us hyped up before practices,
and the same with Matt. You know, both of them
bring energy every day. So it's a blessing to have
both of them in the room. And yeah, Matt is
just one of the smartest coaches I've been around, like
the way he knows x's and o's and he puts
us in good positions to make plays on game day.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
So give an example of that. Yeah, I have lots
of examples.
Speaker 12 (18:57):
Well, I can't really say certain plays and stuff, but
there's a lot lot of big plays that I made
last year from situations that we worked through in practice,
we talked about in the meetings room, and then you know,
seeing that exact thing in a game and going here
and making that play.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
So lots of lots of situations like that. Yeah, Davis,
if you end.
Speaker 6 (19:14):
Up having that kind of Jared Johnson's type career where
you know, multiple contracts, you know you're sort of known
for doing the dirty work, maybe people in the building
appreciate you a little more than people outside.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
Are you pretty cool with that?
Speaker 6 (19:24):
Like, is that that be Nima you're happy with?
Speaker 12 (19:27):
Or like, yeah, I think for me, you know, I'm
always going to be working on expanding my role.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
That's that's important.
Speaker 12 (19:32):
But at the end of the day, it's it's so
important to do what my role is to the best
of my ability. So yeah, I would I would be
happy with that. Sure, I mean, he had a great career,
and he's a legend in this building. He's he's on
our defensive meeting like slide show every day. He's one
of the guys up there. So yeah, just playing my
role to the best of my ability.
Speaker 10 (19:49):
Is we're so obviously working with some improve And what
has it been like just coming in with a pretty
defined role.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
You're not one of the young guys there, maybe on
the double at.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
This point, mm hmm. Yeah, I think it's it's been.
Speaker 12 (20:01):
It's been just just continue to get better every day.
Like that's that's been my focus always. You know, whether
I was in year one, year two, year three, I
just had the same mindset that I have to get
better every day because you know, you're either getting better
you're getting worse. So every day I come out here,
I try to put my best foot forward and just grow.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Yeah, you're like the established or not order established.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
It is a little weird.
Speaker 12 (20:20):
Yeah, it feels like I was just you know, playing
sixty seventy snaps in the preseason game and now all
of a sudden, here we are. So it's, uh, it's
crazy how fast the time has gone.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
For sure, I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
All right, you just heard from outside linebacker Tavius Robinson
on the Ravens Press Pass podcast. Next up, you'll hear
from another OLB, this time David Ajabo.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Hey guys, doing man, Yeah, yeah, yeah, god bless.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
If you talk about your hit on Richardson. I just
got to hear it.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
From your great call by coach Zeo. Uh, you know
they didn't pick up the blitz. You know, I saw
daylight and I didn't break stride and uh I got
a good legal hit, you know, celebrated with the crowd
my teammates, and it was a good feeling.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I heard. That's in you're saying that you ran Adisa
have some similarities as a player.
Speaker 7 (21:21):
I guess what is that like?
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Working with him doesn't make it easier for you guys
to kind of play off each other, especially.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Given how a last suit with injuries and everything. Loving him,
guess what is your relationship like? Yeah, dece Man, good guy. Uh,
you know, we we bond off the field, you know
as well as like you said, you know have similarities,
so you know we're just feeding off each other, both
getting better every day, both having fun with it and uh,
(21:46):
like I said, man, great guys, my guy, Yeah, do
you have.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
In the camp that you wanted to have so far,
do you feel like you're showing what you.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Wanted to draw? Well, it was definitely, man. Uh, it
was my first true off season healthy. You know, I
feel like myself, f feel confident, you know, just kind
of letting it rip, man, not thinking about you know, rehabbing. Man,
I'm just thinking about football man. So fact I'm doing good. Nah,
you know, just keep getting better day by day.
Speaker 8 (22:13):
You get to that point Hard said, you can use
you as a upside, big upside guy. And you know,
you know it's like way you play the camping.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
In the game.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
What's it? What's that been like for you?
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Is to your point?
Speaker 8 (22:24):
You have not been helped you ealing with a lot
of this since you've been here.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Does it is it a boost?
Speaker 8 (22:31):
Is it is it you feel do you feel like
yourself again?
Speaker 5 (22:33):
What? What does it?
Speaker 10 (22:35):
Ye know?
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Man, it's God's blessing, honestly. Uh. You know, you you
can't predict what happens on the field, and every snap
could be ls so and every time you're out there, man,
you just gotta smile. You know, controls you and controls
to your effort. You know, go out there, leave it
out on the field and uh, ultimately have fun with him.
It's a kid's game, and uh that's what we're all
doing and the team's getting better.
Speaker 12 (22:56):
What is the biggest.
Speaker 9 (22:57):
Strives you feel like you may maggerate or just playing?
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Uh, just being free, you know, being being out there
and going hard and uh, you know, getting the call
and just go one hundred percent. You know that that's
what what it was like at the pro level. You know,
everybody's good. So you know, if you're hesitating, if you're
thinking about anything other than like your true assignment, you
(23:23):
know you'll fold. So yeah, man, just being free, man,
playing playing free and having fun.
Speaker 9 (23:28):
You say that Matt Robinson's one of the smartest coaches
he's worked with.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Just what's spend your pressure working with Matt?
Speaker 11 (23:34):
What's he like in that room?
Speaker 3 (23:35):
Man? He's a He's a cool guy man, you know,
on the field, off the field, and uh, yeah he do.
He got the mentals. Man. He he's an X and
OS guy. You know, very detailed too. So you know
that combination of having coached DJ, which is you know,
coach Dennis. You know he's good with like the run
stuff brings the energy. Coach Chuck Man, he He's a guru.
(23:57):
You know, he knows how to pass rush, you knows,
I teach it and then coach Matt Man, Matt Robinson,
he just like kind of finalizes everything and you know
our drops, you know, just X and O's man. Just
that that trio right there and also shout out Mega man.
You know she she does a lot of work, uh
in the background, you know, with the stances and you know,
(24:17):
just that whole group.
Speaker 9 (24:18):
Man.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
They they're doing our thing, a their thing, you know,
to help us just get better.
Speaker 9 (24:24):
Lots of the veinous off season of the outside my
back up position.
Speaker 10 (24:28):
You know how many mastem can pay you bring back
crisly everybody and then you add you know, Mike ring
to it.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
How much have you had to sort of.
Speaker 11 (24:36):
Block that out and not kind of play the numbers
game in your head and not kind of overreact.
Speaker 9 (24:40):
Every practice like you need to, you know, like you
know you need your present every play.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
H I've heard nothing about that, Honestly. I'm I'm ayas
getting the call, play fast, have fun and uh, you know,
control it. I can control, you know, which is my effort,
you know, and my attitude, Yeah, to be going to
my grade so far, Yeah, he's talented, Yeah, real talented.
And also off the field, he's a He's a very
(25:06):
personable guy, somebody you could have fun with, you know,
always crack a joker too. Uh, really good guy man.
I'm happy we have.
Speaker 8 (25:13):
Him do anything in the off season in terms of
prepping for this season.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
That was different cause maybe if you pass, I.
Speaker 8 (25:20):
Know, you have injuries, you have to Is there any
different proof than anything?
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (25:25):
You know, m nah, I just work on my flexibility,
you know, you know, strength and then of course you
know I've gotten Matt Robinson's corner man with the exces
and o's of the game. Cause all of us are good,
all of us are smart, you know, all of us
are physically gifted. But you know, just to get that
little edge, you know with formations and stuff like that,
(25:46):
you know, take my game to the next level. So yeah,
just more more IQ prep for sure.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Curious how much you gave your DA with another guy,
you know, how Well a guy like that.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Man, Big CJ. Man, that's my brother. Man. He's come
along with you know, all the odds are stacked against him.
He's new to the sport kind of like how I was.
But he just keeps grinding man. So you know, all
of this for him is confidence and knowledge cause he
got a god body for football. You know, he was
built to play football. So as soon as he gets
(26:23):
that confidence up, knowing to call, knowing know what to do,
and just knowledge of the sport, man, the sky's the limit. Honestly,
you mentioned next eleven.
Speaker 8 (26:33):
What does that look like in your mind for you?
Speaker 3 (26:35):
For my game? Man? Everything you know from you know,
run run dominance to you know, past dominance to even
dropping you know our position we dropped too, so you know,
just just being versatile man, just being able to be
a four down player, not just you know first second
(26:56):
you know, or third you know, just be on the field.
Do my I've be productive? Come off then you know
next next Yeah, work for great?
Speaker 1 (27:08):
They do be joined Domiti and adopted in in the
off season to go back to Nigeria. How many meaningful
was it for you to go back and get back
home to.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
The kick at home you man? Man? Everything you know
it it that whole trip gave me perspective. Uh, just
how blessed we are man, you know our complaints of
their blessings. You know what I'm saying, Like you know
from my the fun day myself, and you know I
gave just t shirts, you know, bottles of water and
(27:39):
not kids crying, just saying like this is the shirt
they're getting work for the rest of the year, you
know what I'm saying. So it gets perspective, like look
at us, man, we at the castle and we got
a thousand dollar cameras, like you know, your phone. They
wish they could have a phone like that. You know,
just little stuff like that. It gives perspective on life,
like we have no complaints in reality, we're too blessed.
(28:04):
Oh no, our personal shop are got for me? Match
pretty sick shout out jazzy Yeah right, quothing brand back
here there that I honestly this is for on Pikesville.
This one Beauty Supplies Star. Yeah, it got a little
you know, it's like three dollars man. Yeah, thanks God
(28:30):
blessed man. Appreciate you getting.
