Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to the Ravens Press Past Podcast. It is Wednesday,
December third, and the Ravens were preparing to face off
Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday at M and T Bank Stadium.
As they prepare for that matchup, today we heard from
head coach John Harbaugh.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Okay, good to see everybody. Appreciate you being here.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Good practice, good day, working hard to try to be
ready to be at our best on Sunday. Big challenge
in front of us, obviously, playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in
a game for first place. We've both been in this
situation before. Uh, but uh, this is our time, and
this is our time, and and we're.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Looking forward to it.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
What questions you have, John, when the players come.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
In and your customer that team meeting, do you do
you even have to talk about the manager.

Speaker 6 (00:49):
Of this team today?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
No, No, We're it's it's business really right now, you know.
It's uh, it's uh, just trying to focus on the
job in hand, try to do the preparation the right way,
you know, be prepared to play the game the best
way we can. There's a lot of work that goes
into it, a lot of study and a lot of
a lot of physical work on the field too, So
just try to get everything right and get focused on
the things that are going to make a difference in

(01:11):
the game.

Speaker 7 (01:12):
What do you seeing out of the Steelers.

Speaker 8 (01:14):
You see some of the same issues from them that
make you guys have been going through this year. You
have the same Rocker Robbins stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
I see a Steelers team is very physical. I see
a Steelers team, you know, a well coached team, very
physical both sides of the ball. I think they make
a point always have, you know, to play that kind
of football, and they're doing it on both sides of
the football. A very downhill, aggressive run game. But they
attack you from sideline to sideline. They've got a lot
of really good runners.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
They can toss it, to hand it, to throw it,
to screen it, to any kind of different way you want,
check it down to get him the ball, and then
they can catch and they can run and make yards
and that's what they do. So all those things are
out of premium in terms of defending those types of plays.
A quarterback knows exactly what he's doing where he wants
to go with the ball. Big physical offensive line, just
a typical uh Steelers mentality, you know, and that's that's

(02:05):
the they've They've got a reputation and an identity that
they've had for many years. Say the same thing about
their defense. You know, big physical front, fast, active linebackers,
downhill playing safeties. Uh and uh and and and sticky coverage.
Guys that are very aggressive and handsy and and and
active and both impressed and when they play off.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
So uh, kind of what you expect to see.

Speaker 9 (02:27):
John Lamar had missed the first day of practice the
past four weeks. Is it significant to to get him
back out there for the first day and did the
extra couple of days off the Thanksgiving day help with
what he's going through?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I'm not sure exactly the level of help. Probably, it's
always good to get help a couple of days rest,
probably for everybody, you know. So that was that's a
positive in that sense. It wasn't very you know, enjoyable,
you know, for for for us, it would have been
better if we won the game. So dealing with that,
but uh, yeah, it's good to have him out there
doing what he did today, and uh and uh it's

(03:02):
a plus.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
John returned to practice. You know.

Speaker 10 (03:08):
The delegation is our Darius Washington are not a long
long time. But is there a chance Tavious Robinson could
play this week?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Uh? Not a chance Tavius could play this week? Probably not.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I would say, I mean, I think we'd be allowed
to do it, but I'm not planning on doing that
right now. Uh. There is a chance our Darius could
play actually this week. So uh again, I wouldn't say
it's a probability, but I'd say it's a possibility.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
Coach, what do you see in Jonathan Warden adding to
this guy to the backfield?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yeah, he had a nice practice today. He did a
really good job.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
He was doing the look team obviously, and then they
have you know, the Steelers have two excellent backs who
are elusive and tough to tackle, hard running guys and
uh he he uh he did that, you know, and
I thought he did a real nice job.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Look good.

Speaker 9 (03:53):
I don't.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Part of that. You know, sovious wart players we could
have played.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
For you kid, for Washington.

Speaker 11 (04:03):
That's right, John, You guys have got a lot of
success with your safeties of you know, certain set since
you've got lov does that make it sort of an
interesting puzzle to figure out how you would get ard
aias kind of that back game.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Or what well, I mean he can play Nickel two,
so you know, and it gives you versatility, and that's
probably why you know you'd you'd really be interested in
doing it. I mean, I take t Rob back in
a second too. He just he just is a little more.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
He didn't practice as much today. Our Darius went through
the whole practice, so that was good.

Speaker 12 (04:35):
John looking too, trying to get the offense back on track.
But you feel like the lack of I guess Lamar
running his Russian production obviously, asn't they have compared to
years past for him. Do you feel like that's an
element that's missing in you guys's offense.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
You know, the focus really is on the next game.
So that's what I'm looking at is the next game.
So you know, I think there's a possibility to he
runs the next game, makes a bunch of plays that way.
You know, you just we look forward to the next game.
You look at the past from the standpoint of you
know what you can build on and prove on where
you go. But no two games are the same the

(05:11):
circum you can't live in the last game of the game.
Before that, you can go back and look at at
some point in time and say, well, this is this
is how we encapsulate it.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
But we don't have time for that.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Our time is to get get get the game plan
organized for the next game. You know, it's a different opponent,
it's a it's a different set of circumstances with our
own guys. It's a different set of circumstances with each
guy that you're talking about. You know, in this case
you're asking about Lamar, it's different this week than it
was last week for him. So everything changes, and you
just try to put it together for the next game
and do the best you can to have the best

(05:42):
plan you can. Then teach it and drill it and
practice it and get it all oiled up, you know,
so you can go out there and participate and compete
as best you can do that.

Speaker 12 (05:54):
Mike Tomlin had already said, I think yesterday that they're
going to be locked in on trying to stop the
run game obviously lived by Derek Henry. You guys have
faced loaded boxes all year. How do you go about
still tooling what you want to do with knowing that
that's what they want to stop, that's.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
What the game's for.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
You know, I mean there, of course, they're going to
do everything they can to play the best defense they can,
just like our defense will against them, you know, and
then how are they going to go about attacking our defense?
You know, We're going to go about attacking their defense
the best way we can. And really, at the end
of the day, it's going to be execution. It's going
to be operation, execution, playmaking, all the things that it
always boils down to.

Speaker 8 (06:33):
Think air rodgers not being able to take counter center STAPs,
maybe a text jobs, your guys job defensively.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Well, I mean we'll see.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
I mean, we don't know he's not gonna be able
to do that, so we'll have to prepare for his
ability to do that. He didn't do it in the
last game, you know, with with the hand issue. But
you just don't know. So we'll have to just organize
our defense accordingly. I mean, you know, certain plays they
can run whether they're under center or not. It changes
the dynamic a little bit with the the play action
stuff and the boots and things like that, but they
still can run play actions and boots if they're if

(07:03):
they're not under uh, but we wouldn't say we wouldn't
discount the fact that he could very easily show up
under center too, So we've got to be ready for
that as well.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Going to this rivalry, get these dealers, How would you
describe this?

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Uh, you know, I mean, it's a great rivalry. It's
a great it's great to be a part of it.
It's an honor to coach in it. It has been
an honor to coach in it all these times. It's
it's uh, it's a very high you know, we're we
respect the organization very much and the coaches, coach Tomlin
and the team and everybody. You know, just you know,
you're going up against a very worthy opponent, you know,

(07:41):
So we understand that, and that's why it's such a
great thing to be a part of. I'm sure someday
we'll have a lot more time to reminisce about it
than we do right now. So that's really about all
I can say about it at this point, because what's
it going to be like on Sunday is going to
depend on how well we play. If we play really well,
then it's going to be great, you know, and if
we don't, it's not going to be so great, you know,
And that's Uh, that's kind of what I'm thinking about.

Speaker 11 (08:01):
Them, about this matchup that can't be prepared for as
far as your preparations. Just the fact I know you've
played them twice a year for the whole time you've
been here, and.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
You know each other. Players change coaches, change schemes changed, But.

Speaker 13 (08:15):
Yet this game seems always close and kind of perhaps shooting,
no matter how the team is playing.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Why is that.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Well, there's been some there's been some blots. You know,
we've been on the good end of a couple as
I recall, it's been a while, been a long time,
But I don't know about the closeness of the game.
Are really but there's a lot of things that change
within the game that you may not meet the eye.
You know, there's a lot of uh, there's a lot
of schematic dynamics that change from game to game.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
You know, usually something shows up that you really you
haven't seen before. It seems like in this game a
lot of a lot of scheme shows up that we've
never seen before. Maybe maybe they would say the same thing.
I'm not sure. I think that's always an interesting part
of it. Even with all the games that have been played,
just still see new things then, Like you say said,
the other stuff is the different players and coaches that
are involved.

Speaker 8 (09:04):
I know you were asked about every Jones on Monday.
Does his experience at right tackle make that transition to
left guard any more difficult?

Speaker 6 (09:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
It's a good question. Uh, you know, it's a question
I've asked as well. But he's been working at left
guard and uh, and that's he seems comfortable there. He
says he's really comfortable there, and he's not so comfortable
maybe going to right guard right now.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
So that's kind of the deal I take.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Long term, that will be a conversation probably after For
right now we're gonna focus at left guard and the
right guard thing would be more of an emergency type situation.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
All right.

Speaker 14 (09:39):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Next up, we heard from a linebacker Roquan Smiths in
the Cities.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
Were looking really forward to to this game once Sunday
as a person who's gonna be just banting of this game,
kind of what's what's kind.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
Of your your anti pat Yeah, No, very excited about
the game. I know it's that it's gonna be a
very physical game, and I embrace the physicality, so very
excited about that, and I know we are as well.
Gonna be a great matchup and excited about it. Is
it what makes this rivalry the physicality? Yeah, I think
I think this rivory well before, well before I was born,

(10:20):
because shoot, the Ravens what ninety six, So yeah, it's like,
you know, it's been going on for a while. You know,
there's a I remember watching it like growing up as
a kid, even though in Georgia you would see you know,
the Ravens verse still is whether that was in the playoffs,
so whether that was in the regular season has always
been one of those matchups that you just know is
gonna always like be a tough, physical game and like
you know, it's always gonna be chippy. So you look

(10:42):
forward to those matchups and I'm just excited about the opportunity,
excited to be playing here and excited about the match
up with these guys.

Speaker 9 (10:51):
Look on, John Harvard just said that there's a chance
that our Darius rejoined you. How much of a boost
could he give you guys in the secondary. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
Absolutely got a great deal of respect for Ad the
way he work day in and day out, who he
is as a person. So if he is playing, you know,
ex cited for him. If not, you know, I'm sure
he will be one day whenever his time is. So
just focus more on the things that I can control,
and that's just how I go out and how I play,
and how I lead and how I command a defense.
So that's my main focus in whoever is out there,

(11:20):
that's up to the coaches with his relationship.

Speaker 7 (11:24):
How to look is your reaction that you sell Aaron
Rodgers signed with the Steelers, and what's.

Speaker 14 (11:30):
It gonna be like to go against that?

Speaker 6 (11:33):
Yeah, No, got a great deal of respect for the guy.
You don't play what twenty plus years in this league
if you're not one of the most talented people that's
played the game. So, got a great deal of respect
for him. But at the end of the day, it's
more so about us and what we do. So we
just have to go out and pose our will and
like play our brand of football, and that's what it's

(11:53):
just gonna come down to. And like, got a great
deal of respect, but it's not about that.

Speaker 10 (11:58):
Five games left and and the Steelers are tied. Here
did the players discuss kind of the big picture of
those last five weeks and how important this is specifically
in that stretch or is it totally focused on Sunday?

Speaker 6 (12:12):
Yeah, I would be. It'll be crazy for me to
say if I don't, like, you know, you don't look
forward at all. But like, honestly, it's more so about
the moment that we have right now. And that was
like a question I posed to the to the guys
more so, like you know, what are you willing to
do for the game? And I think that's what it
just like boils down to, and I think this is
a perfect week for that, Like just hey, you know,

(12:35):
we obviously get to play the game.

Speaker 12 (12:36):
We love.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Football is the reason we're all here obviously out there
on the field as well, and like just the type
of connections and the things that football has brought us
all into our lives. So just about like being prepared
giving everything you got and knowing that, hey, if someone
told you you control your own destiny and life or
just in anything, like what would you what would you

(12:57):
give up? And I'm sure a lot of people will
like say, heck, yeah, sign me up for that, and
like we're in that position right now. So it's more
so about what you're gonna do with it, and it's
not about talking about it. It's about more so showing
with your actions. So that's what it is. And at
the end of the day, it starts with this game
right here and this forget everything from the past. It's
more so about this week and this week it's the

(13:18):
Pittsburgh Steelers and obviously we're tired right now, so it's
a big matchup. But at the end of the day,
it's still the game of football, and we just have
to go out and play all brand of football and
if we do that, we'll like our chances.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
To that point, they get asked that question than the
liver that assen to this.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Series, what's comps that in your mind is like, yeah,
betting close in recent years, just like the latter than Tilsa,
what was it the prompt you has challenged us that.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
Honestly, man, I was just sitting down. I was just thinking,
like it just popped up in my head because I
asked myself questions sometimes and I'm like, what am I
willing to give up? Sometimes I'm like what am I
willing to give up? And like, I think that's different
for each and every person because it's like we're all
unique in our own way, and like the chance of
you being you is pretty crazy when you look at

(14:07):
the numbers behind it. So I think it was just
something that was going through my head and I was
like something going through my head, I should maybe ask
the guys, And I thought it went over very well,
and like it's something that we tend to like lose
sight of just because like, hey, we get to play
this awesome game, this kid game for a kings Ransom,
and we get to just you know, go see the world,

(14:28):
do crazy things and like meet amazing people. And it's
all because of this game of football. That's why all
of you guys are here too. And it's like without football,
none of this will be possible. And so when you
really think about that, like so, how are you willing
in a sense to pay the game back or just
like show your appreciation for the game. And I think
that goes from a coaching staff to the players to everyone,

(14:49):
because it's like everybody in this building, Like so you
just want to think about it like that, and it's
just like say hey, and knowing that you're not going
to get it back, and it's about just taking advantage
of like the time that we have doing this because
we're gonna look one day and be like, man, I
remember that story I wrote on this when you're not
writing stories anymore, or I remember this play I made
when I'm not playing anymore. So like when you think,

(15:09):
think things like that, man, and just show your appreciation.
And it's not about words. It's more more so about
showing it with your actions. So I think that's just
like what it is. And I thought it went over
really well with the guys the game or was that
when you guys get this week? Oh that was this week? Yeah,
what was the.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Reaction from guys or did anything stand out and that reaction.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
To well, it's more of it's more about just like
taking it all in. You don't need a reaction like
it was. More so, I don't need actions. I don't
need like words anything like that. It's about showing it.
And you show that when you play the game of
football throughout the week in practice as well as on
the game in the game on Sunday. So I think
it boils down to that. It's not about like just
like looking for who raw anything like that. It's it's

(15:51):
more of the truth and you show me how you
play the game. And that's I think that's plain and simple.

Speaker 8 (15:57):
When you look at the North you know, you guys
came into the season with all of expectations, so that
sincy so Pittsburgh. Is it surprising that you know if
you're in week fourteen, six and six is first place
in the AFC North.

Speaker 6 (16:09):
Man, I think you you never envisioned six and six
at this point, like with the expectations. But at the
end of the day, expectations or expectations, and they don't
mean anything. So it's more so about what you go
out and do. And I think that's that's the biggest thing.
And but like at the end of the day, if
you told me week fourteen, at the beginning of the season,

(16:30):
you'll be tied for first place. You control your own destiny.
I'm signing myself up for that every day of the
week and twice on Sundays, so like, and I'm sure
each and every God can attest to that in the
locker room. And I think that's what it's more so about.
Forget everything that's happened, because the only thing that matters
right now is the moment, the moment that we're in
and the moment that we have, and that's what it is.
This week versus Pittsburgh at M and T Bank, whatever

(16:51):
time it is, that's what matters.

Speaker 12 (16:54):
You talk about being a physical game, they use two
physical backs. How important will it be to go down
Jaylen Warren and kind.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Of came Yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
I got a lot of respect for thirty and fourteen
as well. But at the end of the day, we're
physical as well. You know, that's what we pride ourselves on.
So it's about physical meets physical and who's more physical.
That's what it boils down to. And that's what it's
gonna be at M and T Bank Stadium. So you know,
if you love physicality, tune in. If you don't, don't

(17:23):
tune in. And I'm all about it, So make sure
I'll make sure I'm ready, and as I know, I
will be.

Speaker 7 (17:29):
Speaking of that physicals brought to this defense.

Speaker 6 (17:33):
And how well was he put into that triple Yeah,
great deal of respect for Dre, how he came in,
how he's adapted to the style here. He's been a
physical player pretty much his whole career. A big end
for sure, and like just the way that God worked.
Don't say much, just come in, put his head down
and just eager to get better. Day in and day out.
So I'm just excited for more opportunities to go out

(17:54):
the war with him and for him to be here
and help us continue to win. Real close to.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
Him, man, and you will see him around here, Like, guy,
what's he like during the games?

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Like you hear him out there?

Speaker 6 (18:11):
What is cal Habilton? He's a no, I'm kidding, but
like no, no, no, he's He's a really good dude man,
very very intelligent, uh and like man, yeah, being able
to just line up with that guy when he's close
to the box, man, it takes a lot of pressure
off everybody down there, like D linemen, linebackers and everyone,

(18:33):
because he's just as big as a linebackers, just as
physical as a D line and linebacker. So like man,
he got all the intangibles and very smart as well,
so he see a lot of different things coming. And
obviously he's a mismatch for receivers and most uh most
tight ends as well that are trying to block him.
So like, yeah, I got a great deal of respect
for him, the way he work, who he is as
a person, great family. So I'm just grateful to be

(18:56):
able to uh play with the guy. And I just
know he's just gonna contique, continue to keep climbing the ladder,
and continue to keep getting better.

Speaker 15 (19:05):

Speaker 1 (19:25):
In the locker room today, we heard from a handful
of players, including cornerback Marlon Humphrey.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
How does this game?

Speaker 5 (19:35):
I mean, You've played in a lot of Raven Steelers games,
this is a battle for the first place.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Feeling any different going.

Speaker 6 (19:42):
Into this one?

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Honestly, I don't know. But when I look at it,
it is a little different. I think, yeah, thank you.

Speaker 7 (19:54):
I think.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
I don't know, it's weird. Maybe I I'm not really
so media, so I'm on ESPN a little bit too much.

Speaker 16 (20:02):
And I guess the AMC North is the mid conference,
so I feel like that's not normal.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
But it is.

Speaker 16 (20:09):
It is two teams that kind of literally can control
their own narrative as far as this this game. But
to the it's it's you know, it's I think it's
great opportunity. You want Ravens, Steelers, Robberies. You know how
they've continued over the years. I think there's no better
stage than two teams that are just trying to run

(20:30):
the North. So I think it'll be it'll be a
great game.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
And Marlon Rook talked about kind of his message to
the team about control, giving giving up the things that
you need to in order to to's going on to
run here and how the goals are kind of all
out in front of you.

Speaker 6 (20:46):
How would you kind of describe.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
The just the mindset of this team knowing that you know,
you're six and six right now, but the significance of
this game, I still have everything controllable in front of you.

Speaker 7 (20:56):
You know.

Speaker 16 (20:56):
I think when Rocan was speaking, the thing that that
that clicked in my head that I started thinking about is,
you know, talk is talk is cheap, man.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
If how you play will speak way louder than your words.
And I think if you can't get up for this one,
you know, every every game you play in the NFL
is very meaningful.

Speaker 16 (21:14):
But if you can't get up for this one, I
think that shows something about your character. I think that
shows something about your will. And honestly, I think that
just shows if you are a raven or you're not
a raven. I think how we come out this game, how.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
We prepared this week.

Speaker 16 (21:27):
We'll kind of see do echoes not only for for
this game, but for the rest of the season because
we're we're basically in playof football right now.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
So it's kind of you know, it is you know,
let's say there's no game a must win game. This
is definitely a must win game.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
Or I guess they'll talk.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
About everything is in front of you in terms of
your standings.

Speaker 11 (21:44):
Do you also feel like everything is still in front
of you in terms of you guys look at to
be think the team that you thought you were gonna
be coming into the year, playing the kind of football
that you expect to play.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
I would say, so, I think I was talking with somebody.

Speaker 16 (21:58):
I feel like we haven't really played you know, grow
great you know, right above good football all every three
units throughout this entire season. I feel like the offense
is played good at times and the defense played bad.
All the defense played good at times, but I feel
like no one is not. All three levels have played great,
great and great, So I feel like we're still coming

(22:19):
together as a team. We just hope that now it's
time when we can start clicking. We can start getting
less of the best of them film more of the
good stuff, and we kind of can get that momentum
and start rolling.

Speaker 7 (22:29):
Marln You've been through this for uh uh the rivalry,
but it's is it a little different because I mean,
you guys are all fighting first for first place once again.

Speaker 9 (22:36):
But the records and the expectations, I guess we're a
little higher coming in.

Speaker 16 (22:40):
But still everything's in funny, Yeah, I I honestly, uh
perch Or was was showing some some tape, some uh
some clips and meetings today and it I know it's
on Wednesday, but I it did give me excited just
this ribvalry. You know what it means to to people,
you know the I it's you know, it's the closest
thing to to college, high school, those type of dribbery.

(23:00):
So to to me, you know this, this means a
lot to me being in this robbery this is the
only robbery the NFL. You know, I've been a part of,
been on the same team. So for the guys that
don't know, I think coach.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Jorg is doing a really good job of showing.

Speaker 16 (23:15):
Clip showing the history of the game, the game defining plays,
you know, pictures that you see all throughout the building,
a different thing.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
So this is this is the game, this is the week.
You just gotta get it done. Marl and help bum
the staph argarius. Watching back of practice this week, I
was good, man.

Speaker 16 (23:29):
I was testament the hard work, the rehab process. He
got back really quick. I know that's a playmaker that
you know. I'm not sure how he gets some feel
what all that ins and out, but it was really
encouraging to see him back and doing what he loves
to get.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Talking for about our past experiences, that kind of kind
of shaped the way you view things with with where
this team is that the potentially you have.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
How do you just kind of view this this last five.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
Year stretch of the regular season.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
I think, man, it's just like I kind of said,
it's gonna be key. We you know, we have not
played great, complimentary football really all year, and it's it's time.
It worked really hard to get to to get to
where we are. Yeah we do.

Speaker 16 (24:14):
We like our record, no, but do we have everything
in front of us yet? So I think, like I said,
mat if you, it's time to show it. We've talked
all throughout the years. I've made bad places and everyone's
been bad plays. Everyone makes a good place. But now
it's time come together. Have your brother's back, make sure
your brother knows what he's doing so we can go
out here be on the same page.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
EXEQ.

Speaker 16 (24:34):
Because I think we're too good of a team on paper.
I know that's been said and everything, but now it's
time to be a good team. On Sunday, Monday, whatever
day we're playing at one o'clock.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Next up, we heard from safety ALOGI Gilman.

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Russian. Obviously when you got your three half, who's your
first impression of meet?

Speaker 14 (25:01):
Obviously a great dude, great person.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
You know.

Speaker 14 (25:05):
I've I watched film too over the years, and I
told Ad when I first got here that I respected
his game. I used to watch a lot of Ravens
taping up the chargers and saw two nine out there,
you know, rolling around flying, not the biggest dude, but
willing to go down there and uh put his face
in the fan and creating coverage. So I told him
I got a lot of respect for him when I

(25:25):
first got out here and he talked to me a
little bit about his journey and uh just uh you know,
his his recovery. So you know, hats out to him. Man,
I got so much respect for him. Uh, you know,
for him what he's been able to do to overcome
and uh, it just tells a lot about who he
is as a player and the person the position that
he was in.

Speaker 6 (25:43):
It's easy for someone like that to be pretty down
in the delps for a while. What did you how
did you what did your sense of his energy?

Speaker 15 (25:48):
You know since you've gotten here, just the way he's
carried himself.

Speaker 14 (25:51):
Yeah, he just about his business. Uh just always uh
willing to work, never complained, smiling, always saying what's up.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Uh.

Speaker 14 (26:00):
So someone that's coming from a new place to hear
and seeing guy like that, it is like, damn like
much respect. My hats off to him. So it was
pretty cool.

Speaker 13 (26:08):
Oh, you've been in robberies before, but it's your first
Raven Steelers rivalry up.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
What have you heard about it? What are you expecting?

Speaker 14 (26:13):
Uh, I've heard a lot. I've heard a lot. I've
been uh told that I'm not a Raven yet until I,
you know, beat the Steelers, so probably too much times
at this point. Uh So you know it's getting ingrained
in me. I'm excited for this opportunity. Records at this
point don't mean much. This is just about the AFC
North Division game, robbery game, going out there and playing

(26:35):
ball and playing to our standard. And so I'm just
grateful to be a part of this opportunity. Man, I've
I've played in some ribery games in the league and
in college, but nothing like this. So, uh, this is
a first for me. And I'm excited. All told you that,
uh just coaches players, anyone, everyone, so training room that

(27:00):
it's averaging about nine per day, one more day of nine.
I'm about about to fight at this point, you know,
you know, we I'm tired of hearing it. We're gonna
go do it. I'm just gotta go do what I
gotta do. And uh and I'm happy to be a
part of it.

Speaker 9 (27:17):
To that to that point, we had heard Marlin says
Zach Carshaw a lot of old Raven Steelers tape, and me.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
Yeah, today. What was that like for you to watch?

Speaker 10 (27:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (27:24):
It was cool man, just seeing the history. Obviously, great rivalry,
great players on both sides, both franchises, the culture, the
identity of both sides. You know, it's old school, grimy,
we're fighting, we're scrapping, and uh it's it looks good
because that's how I was raised, scrapping, grinding, anyone in

(27:47):
your face, get out my face, and we don't like you,
you don't like us, so let's just go.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Let's go scrap it out. In the situation you guys
are in, both teams know they're lost, it's really gonna art.

Speaker 16 (27:59):
You think that'll make it even more like a playoff
game because of the records that you guys have.

Speaker 14 (28:03):
Yeah, I mean, for sure, I think that that probably
adds to it. I think in hindsight, you'd want to
be obviously ten, ten and two, nine and three, whatever
you want to be, you want to be undefeated. But
like just the opportunity that we get from going from
one in five to six and six, you know, it's
like it kind of adds a little cherry on top.

(28:23):
You know, it's it's the grind, it's the fight, and
it means more because we're both fighting. But I feel
like we've you know, we've fought from a deeper hole.
So it's like we can't go back, and the only
way is to goes forward, and the first one is them,
So start with them and go from there.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
What is it like to go against Darion Rodgerson?

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Oh?

Speaker 14 (28:43):
Ay, ro I mean.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Sheesh.

Speaker 14 (28:46):
I think the times that I played against him, he
was hurt, so never really got a chance to get
down the field against him. So this is a first
for me. Actually, got a lot of respect for him, obviously,
grew up watching him, seeing him, you know, the way
he throws the ball, just the way he processes the field,
and that quarterback he is, it's a Hall of Famer man.

(29:06):
So I'm excited for the challenge. He's got a lot
of respect for him, but we're gonna go get after
him and we're gonna go battle out.

Speaker 8 (29:14):
What's your take on the other tight end or out
watching that?

Speaker 7 (29:17):
I think you said he weighs three hundred and eleven pounds, Yeah,
just like you see that coming down the field kind
of how do you deal with that?

Speaker 14 (29:23):
I don't care. I mean I've played against him before,
got a lot of respect for him great player size.
You guys have seen me. I'm not three hundred pounds,
but I don't see numbers when I'm out there. I
just see bodies. So we're gonna go get after him.
Everyone who's out there.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
We also heard from wide receiver or shot.

Speaker 8 (29:46):
Dating the fact that you had earlier in the season.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
I think we just got to hit plays.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
I think we just got to.

Speaker 13 (29:58):
Do whatever got to do to be successful. A lot
of heroes that we gotta clean up. But I feel like,
you know, just all around football, we gotta play better
as offense.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
I mean, I this offense we're kind of used to.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
You know a lot of people used to you know,
this team going out scoring thirty points pretty again and
kind of get taking that for granted a little bit.
As players are playing a do you do you feel
that this this offense is kind of out of sink
as as you're playing the game.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
Yeah, I would say that we are.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
I feel like we happen all year.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
We had our good days, we had our bad days.

Speaker 7 (30:23):
But.

Speaker 13 (30:25):
We know what we can do and we all know
were capable of love. So to go out there and
not do what we can do, uh doesn't feel good.
So we just trying to clean it up. Well, I
didn't put up to the points that we.

Speaker 7 (30:34):
Know we can.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
How difficult is that to do in kind of week thirteen?

Speaker 14 (30:38):
To your point, is there something that's come up with
a bunch of times during the season?

Speaker 7 (30:42):
Is it? Does it just get harder that the more
it happens in a way.

Speaker 13 (30:46):
I mean, it's a situation that it can happen anytime.
So you know what I'm saying, we just gotta go
to work and I guess not give up on it.
We gotta keep it leaving and keep trusting that it's
go break through whatever it is going to So we
got the guys to do it, and we just gotta
go do it.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
I'm try when you guys sitting at six and six
for this game coming up against Steelers, how how would
you kind of describe the mindset knowing that you continued,
you still have everything out there in front of you
that you wanna accomplish.

Speaker 6 (31:09):
The end of the significance of this game.

Speaker 13 (31:11):
Year just another game, and you know what I'm saying,
to just go do what we need to do to
get what we want at the end of the day.

Speaker 12 (31:17):
How important.

Speaker 6 (31:18):
And I know obviously you're trying to touch pass and
stuff like.

Speaker 11 (31:20):
Howbut is the running game for you guys as an
offer to help you stay out to the passing?

Speaker 6 (31:28):
Uh?

Speaker 13 (31:28):
I think it's important.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
It's a lot of things that we can do.

Speaker 13 (31:33):
I guess like better, but I mean I I I
don't know that's not We gotta play better all around
for sure. Yeah, yeah, I got payl bet out around.

Speaker 14 (31:40):
So how how long have you know?

Speaker 7 (31:42):
You've had tough moments earlier in your career that you
got over, you got passed. How have those helped you
this year? You know, dealing with the hands from midjury
or nothing, utu with the ankle and all that stuff,
and kind of the year that you're having. How's those
experience has helped you.

Speaker 13 (31:56):
I just controlled what I can can control at the
end of the day, and I let whatever like people
make the decisions, you know what I'm saying that they
want to make or assumptions.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
But I mean.

Speaker 13 (32:08):
I've after to develop a callus, I would say, being
here dealing with injury and whatnot. So I think, like
for parts me, I just got to stay ready. You
know what I'm saying. My numbers called be ready. You
know what I'm saying what my numbers called. And I
think that's my role. So you know, I just could
continue to, you know, thriving that.

Speaker 8 (32:28):
So have you seen about this Walker respond to you
know what he went through on Thursday?

Speaker 13 (32:33):
Just norm I thinking that, like as a receiver, you know,
we all had this back as a team. It's not
the reason we lost a lot of reasons. We know
we lost that game, and you know we know to
this can make those plays and we know that. So
every receiver you know has these days, So I think he.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
Just had one.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
