Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Past Podcast. The Ravens got
a much need to win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday,
winning thirty to sixteen at M and T Bank Stadium.
After the game, we heard from head coach John Harbaugh.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Okay, good to see everybody. Appreciate you being here. Great victory.
Very proud of our guys, Very excited for the outcome.
Also very impressed with the process. Sometimes the outcome you
can't always control. I read a great scripture man was
talked about, talked about the battle, the strength of horses
(00:38):
and things like that. Some people out there going to
know this scripture versus just escaped me. But it says
the victory belongs to the Lord. I talked to the
team about that, and we want to get praise and
honor where it belongs because these guys kept so much faith,
so much faith in the Lord, and also also in
each other and the process and being a team and
(00:59):
sticking together and handling all the arrows and slings that
get tossed your way when you're struggling by no means?
Does this mean that you know things are over? By
no means? Have we accomplished anything close to what we
want to accomplish. But this was a really important game
for our team. This is really a big game, and
Thursday is really a big game for our team too,
(01:20):
and our guys are keenly aware of that, and they'll
turn it around tomorrow and they'll be ready to get
to work on the Dolphins down there. So but I
can't emphasize enough how proud I am of the players
and the coaches and everybody involved. I thought our defensive
coaches had a great game plan. It was excellent. It
was executed in an excellent way by the players throughout
the game, and the offensive coaches had a great game plan.
(01:41):
Thought Todd was his play calling was just incredible, on point,
really effective. And then of course you talk about all
the players, will start with Tyler Huntley right here. I
mean the way he played that game, one hundred and
sixteen plus quarterback rating, ran the offense, ran the ball,
completed passes, just kept great poise and critical moments, finished
(02:03):
the game, the critical drive at the end of the game.
I just don't think I don't think you play any
better than that. That was one of those all time
great performances.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I'm so proud of you. We'll talk about the phone
call sometime, but uh, he did it and and the
team did it. So with that, what questions you have?
Speaker 4 (02:18):
How did it?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
I mean, it's been well since to get that, you know,
feeling of winning a game.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
How was the locker room after that?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
It was happy? It was a happy locker room. Yeah,
it was a happy locker It is a joyous locker room,
you know. And and and it was also kind of
a pois locker room too. It wasn't like out of control.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
We haven't won a championship or anything else. We won
a game. We won one game, a game that we
needed to win. And even even i you know, with
Derek Henry on the sideline right after the game, you know,
game a hug and he was kind of just like
like this, and Kyle Hamilton he was kind of like, okay,
you know, but there's plenty of things to work on,
you know, so plenty of things we can all get
better at.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
John.
Speaker 6 (02:54):
There was that fourth and five seemed like that sequence
kind of was the decisive sequence of the game.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
You had a long huddle.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
It seemed like you were talking about where to go
first and try to draw him offside. Get the stout
pun inside the five and then the wigands turnover. What
were the discussions like, I mean, were you close to
to go?
Speaker 7 (03:10):
And we talked about it.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
We talked about it and uh, and we decided that
we had. We tried to draw them off sides, you know,
fourth and five, and felt like maybe we get him.
You know, it's not you don't always get him, but
we didn't think there was much to lose there unless
you unless you decide you'd rather go for it. It
to be, it does help a lot if it's followed
up with a punt that puts him inside the five.
Speaker 7 (03:31):
I mean, that's what you want.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
If you don't put him inside the five, if you
kick it in the end zone or something like that,
it's not nearly as an effective type of a situation,
but the downside of not getting it was pretty steep,
and so we just felt like, you know what, let's
go ahead and try and see if we can execute this.
Just try to draw them off and then see if
we can execute the punt.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Two questions related to Tyler.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
One, what was your thought process when he became available
and you signed him. I know you'd work with him before,
but bringing him back here and.
Speaker 8 (03:57):
Then what led to make the change to have him
be the starter.
Speaker 7 (03:59):
To day, well, to be the start of today.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I felt like it just it was the best thing
for our team, you know, would give us the best
chance to win. Tyler Tyler does some things. You know,
he's a he's a talented player. He can make he
can make throws, he can he can do things with
his legs.
Speaker 9 (04:13):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
He was a great spark for us, you know. It
just it just felt like the right thing to do.
Nothing against Cooper. I mean Cooper great, great, great guy
and played good football for us. But but Tyler was
the answer for today's game. We felt like it just
wasn't a hard decision. It was we were playing on
doing that throughout the bye week and everything. If if
Lamar couldn't go.
Speaker 8 (04:31):
I'm sure the short week kind of makes it a
little tough, and every day probably helps the chances that
Lamar can play Thursday.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
But given what Tyler was able to do today, does.
Speaker 8 (04:41):
That change any of the calculus or or sort of
risk factor if you have to go without Lamar again?
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, I mean yeah, it's it's uh, it's it's it's great.
And the way that Tyler played, you know, and I
think gives us a lot of confidence. But we already
had a lot of confidence, you know when we brought
him back. I mean, he and I had a phone
conversation during training camp, you know, at some point and
maybe it was after training camp, I don't remember exactly
when it was. Was a training camp during training camp
and he was actually working out, and we talked about
(05:08):
the possibility of this happening, and and uh, and we
talked about you know what if if it does come
to fruition, you're gonna you're gonna come win.
Speaker 7 (05:13):
You're gonna win football games.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
You could win a football game for us, right and
here we are.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
It's one of those things that you just really couldn't
you could never predict, but it's when things work sometimes.
Speaker 8 (05:25):
The defense playing much better today after Cole Line, Stan
you share to embrace it with Kline.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Could you kind of detail with his returnment and the
steps that you saw in the defense today? Well, rowat
great leader, Row, Marlon Humphrey, Kyle Hamilton, Kyle Van Noy, uh,
other guys. You know, those are the veteran kind of guys.
Cheeto played so well as another veteran guy how about
Nate Wagans. You go after Nate early. Nate steps up
and really really really put the pedal to the metal
(05:51):
and played great football up front. We got pressure, We
got pressure up front, got a few sacks. Mike Green
got his first sack, but we got pressure. Gotta thrown
the bomb in the crate throw at the end. Golly,
you know, that's just that's We've had some plays like
that this year, you know. So that was kind of
crazy we throw, but we had them. We had them
on his heels quite a bit, which was good to see.
So the defense, they got the first two drives and
we stood up and we held them the field goals.
(06:13):
That was massive, those first two stops where they were
moving the ball, and I had their game plan, had
us on our heels with the run and the boots
a little bit, and we get two stops in the
red zone. That gives us life, and our offense steps
up and goes and makes it seven to six, and
now you got a whole new ball game. And I
don't think they scored again till maybe the fourth quarter
at that point. So I thought our defense was just outstanding.
Speaker 10 (06:33):
Along those lines, Zach Word said, you know, getting pressure
was one of the biggest focuses by week and how
important are significant just momentum wise, those two blitzes with
with Hamilton and Marlin that led to the penalties on
the Bears.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Great, just a great point. Thanks for bringing that up.
I mean, those two intensional grounding penalties were huge. They're
like sacks, They're the same as sacks. And yeah, those
two blitzer were great, well timed up, well executed blitzer.
Is I just Kyle Hamilton's a great blitzer, Kyle Van No,
He's just so sneaky with the pass rush stuff that
he does, so cagey. You know, those are huge plays.
Speaker 11 (07:11):
I know it's not your main focus right now, but
from your perspective, what happened with the miscommunication around Lamar's
injury status and were you unclear on the rule that
I guess he couldn't be listed as a full participant
if he only ran practice squad.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, well the status was pretty much the status all
the way through. We were hoping, you know, we were
hoping we were gonna rule them out before we had to,
you know, And I think at the end of the day,
it just the conversations that were had, you know, they
just didn't feel like the two games in the five
days would be the thing to do, you know. So
that's that's kind of comes back to us. And when
(07:46):
you hear that as a coach, that's what you do.
So with him not practicing, uh, you know, with a
with the first offense throughout the week, it's just getting
Tyler ready to go and we're gonna go play football
with Tyler. And if Lamar would have come back, I mean,
you know, if it could have happened, you know, as
a coach, how to put him in there and tell
you don'tunderstood that right that would have that would have
win the way it would have gone. But he didn't
get to the point where I think they felt comfortable
(08:06):
with with that part of it. The other part of it,
I'm not involved in those rules. I don't know those
particular rules. So that's uh, that was probably I think
in their in their defense, you know, he practiced a
full practice. I think they felt like because he did
the same number of reps, it was a full practice.
But when you dig in and you read the rule
at the end of the day, it wasn't right. So
(08:26):
that's what it was.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
That's why as soon as we found out, we changed it.
Speaker 12 (08:30):
You said that who's the day who makes that?
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah, that's in the training room and the and the
and the and the pr on the other side, it's
not in the football side. John, do you expect the
medical side expect? But it's it's it's an honest mistake.
I mean, it really is an honest mistake. I can
tell you this. Nobody's trying to hide anything. I mean,
there's no advantage. There's no advantage to be gained, you
know with that. I mean it was he practiced. His
(08:55):
status was what it was. He was questionable. I do
think if we'd have had the old status prior, maybe
they would have said doubtful maybe, I don't know, but uh,
questionable or out. You know, we weren't going to say
out because he wasn't out, you know, until until Saturday
when that conversation was had on the medical side.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
John, Do you expect more to be available to start
on Thursday night?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
You know what, I'm hopeful. I'm just going to say that,
I'm hopeful. That's just as a coach, what you do
is you you ask, you might you know, how is
he doing? That's about as much as you do how
are we doing and what do you think? And then
you get the guys ready that are going to play.
Then when the guys come back to practice, you put
them in there and you practice. And that's how it works.
On the coaching side, coaches are involved with you know,
(09:39):
statuses and you know whether guys player or not. That's
not a coaching decision.
Speaker 9 (09:47):
Is that When you say that, are you saying that
he hasn't been has he been cleared?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I don't know what cleared means. He wasn't He wasn't
available for this game. He was declared out. That's the status.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (09:58):
Uh, just Keith Mitchell. He had a couple of actives
earlier this season. Did anything happen over the bye or
anything in particular that made you think this was the
game to get him involved?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Well, we dever the bye. We were one of our
things and one of the many things we looked at.
We said we got to we got a tag place
for Keaton. You know, we just said we got to
do it. You know, I mean it's you want to
make sure Derek gets his reps and justice is effective.
But we just said we have got the tag place
for keithon Mitchell and make sure we get him the ball,
and that's that's that's what we're able to do. I
think he got three plays where we got the ball.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
John, you guys have dealt with adversity before in the past,
but this week, between some of the stories with players
criticizing coaches, between the Lamar injury stuff, how tough was
it to kind of go and tell a tunnel vision
this week and just get ready for this game, and
how rewarding given the difficulty the week is today present.
Speaker 7 (10:48):
That's a good question.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
I appreciate it like it really wasn't it was. It
was challenging because you know, because we just you don't win.
You have one games and you want to win games,
and we understand we're fight I just I was proud
of the guys.
Speaker 7 (10:59):
We didn't win the games.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Our guys fought like crazy against the Texans, the guys
that were out there, and they fought like crazy against
the Rams, and we turned the ball over. You know,
we didn't make the plays we need to make, get
the stops we need to make. But they're fighting and
they're competing. So it wasn't hard in the sense of
all the outside noise that wasn't relevant at all. I mean,
anything that was said that's anonymously is like, it doesn't
(11:20):
it's like it's not even it's just noise. It's not
even a real statement. It's not a real quote. If
someone doesn't if there's no name to it, it doesn't
exist the way we look at it. And you're talking
about the game stuff. The game stuff was like a
month ago. Nobody cared about that. And like I said,
which the people that wrote it already know, they already
know it came from the leadership players, but they haven't
reported that yet. But that's where it came from. Came
(11:42):
from the leadership players. There was a player's decision to
do that. So that was nothing. I was kind of
proud of me when I heard about like two weeks
after it happened. I was like, good, great, cool. I
haven't been in locker room. I don't spend time in
the locker room. So that's all nothing. That's nothing. What
matters is a team that sticks together and fights even
when the division when you're trying, you know, when the
outside tries to divide you, that's okay. You gotta stick
(12:04):
there and you gotta be a family. We're gonna have
our chance. We're gonna have our hands full on Thursday
night against the Miami Dolphins down in Miami. And that's
what we're gonna be thinking about. Not gonna be worried
about some silly story that gets written, you know, by
unserious type of report. We're not gonna worry about that.
We're gonna worry about taking care of our business the
best we can and sticking together. You guys agree with that,
That's what.
Speaker 7 (12:23):
That's what I'm contend with, all right, Thanks a lot.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Next up is quarterback Tyler Huntley, who had a really
strong game in place of starting Lamar Jackson. Huntly finished
today seventeen to twenty two one hundred and eighty six
yards and one touchdown. He also had eight carries for
fifty three yards, just ran the offense officially and helped
the Ravens put up thirty points on the day. He
talked about this win and what it means for the Ravens.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Not everybody, and I know, you know this summer when
you get you get cut and you know, you come
to the raven Was there any point did you ever
think that a moment like this not you know, you
might've had that last moment you might not have an
opportunity like this again.
Speaker 9 (13:05):
Uh Na, I I didn't think that it wouldn't happen.
It just you know, just being at home, you know,
just working out every day by yourself and stuff. You
just try to see where it's gonna come from and
when when.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Would it happened?
Speaker 9 (13:17):
You know, I didn't have no idea that, you know,
just being that you know, OTA's it's not really where
players are, you know, being moved around and stuff, and I,
you know, I understand it, but yeah, we're here.
Speaker 12 (13:30):
When did you.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Find out that you were gonna be the starter?
Speaker 8 (13:32):
And what were your emotions that she?
Speaker 9 (13:34):
Like probably like Saturday night, like late, like you know,
I usually just prepare every day like I'm the starter,
you know regardless, So like it wasn't too much a surprise,
you know, like I, you know, I'm like, she, let's
do it.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
H What do you remember of this phone call that
John had mentioned about this summer, Hey maybe you can
come back here?
Speaker 4 (13:55):
What do you remember that?
Speaker 13 (13:56):
Man?
Speaker 9 (13:56):
It was like I'll say it was early early in
training camp and then I was just got I got
done working our hard and I was just like, man,
I would love to play for the best team in
the National Football League again. So I just test hards
and I was like, give me a car. I know
you ain't camp. I know you ain't camp. Just give
me a call. We got a chance, and he called me, like,
(14:16):
right back, I ain't expecting a call.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Right back, he was.
Speaker 9 (14:19):
Like, And we just went on and just talked, and
you know, it was just like relationships last forever. So
you know, I was just grateful for that.
Speaker 8 (14:29):
Any sort of like you know, between you and anyone
in this team, or for maybe just in your your heart,
just any disappointment that lingers over that one playoff game
you played two years ago against the Bengals and what do.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
You mean coming up short?
Speaker 8 (14:42):
Just I mean, does that does that linger at all
in your mind?
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Or is it?
Speaker 8 (14:45):
Does it feel like a performance like this helps.
Speaker 9 (14:49):
It hurt it then, because you know, that was our
last game and I got to sit at home thinking
about that play forever. But other than that, we got
a lot of disappointments during the day, like more than
just you know, fumbling, you know, like it ain't nothing.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
You said that you came back feeling like you were
a more complete player.
Speaker 14 (15:07):
How do you feel like that showed.
Speaker 13 (15:08):
Up today this game.
Speaker 9 (15:10):
Uh I'd just say like like I said, like I
was able to get one on work, one work with
a quarterback coach while I was at home while everybody
was away in and I just felt like I was
just tuning up my craft, you know, working on just
my faith with God and just being one with myself,
you know, like not letting little mistakes, you know, just
down me as a person, like when you know you're
(15:30):
greater than that. So you know, it just learnt my
value in there. And just that's why I felt like
I'm more complete now because I know my value.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
Action back in practice this week.
Speaker 11 (15:40):
Uh what sort of conversations did you have leading up
to this game?
Speaker 15 (15:44):
And uh have that impact you know the performance out
of the.
Speaker 9 (15:47):
Field conversations with who like la with Lamar, we talk
all the time and we and we could be we could.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Talk about anything.
Speaker 9 (15:54):
So it's show we just you know, I don't I
don't even know how to ask it out when we
talk all the time. So I think he just he
just helpful, like just being there, like even when he's
he's there, but you know, not being able to go
or whatnot. He's able to just be your support and
because he's been there, done that, and you know, he's
(16:16):
just a great mentor to even have as my brother, Tyler.
Speaker 8 (16:20):
As far as you know, whether it's your relationships with
the guys around you in this offense or whether it's
sort of the understanding you developed over years about how
this offense revolves around the quarterback. Do you feel like
your skills and relationships are more valuable here in Baltimore
than maybe getting air dropped into anywhere.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Else in the land.
Speaker 9 (16:40):
I'm just blessed and thank God that I'm here with
the Ravens.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
On the defensive side of the ball, we also heard
from linebacker Roquan Smith, who finished the day with twelve
tackles in the victory.
Speaker 9 (16:57):
Yeah, No, it's pretty awesome. You never want to be
injured in this game before ball because your best ability
is your availability. So that's what it all boils down to.
Grateful to be out there with my guys and getting
a dub here at M and T.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
I saw you come off the field after that forthdown
stuff and how to long embrace with with coach Tarvon.
Was that about a specific player, about the entire game
or anything you can kind of share from that.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Moment between you.
Speaker 9 (17:20):
Now, at the end of the day, it's about getting
a dub, and getting a dub is very hard in
his league, and just talking about that and just embracing
each other and knowing that the last month has been
very tough for each and everyone inside of our locker
room and all the true fans and things of that nature,
and understand how that can be. So it was just
more so a moment, and you know, that's what life's
all about, having moments with people who you truly care
(17:41):
about and relationships.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
So that's what I would say.
Speaker 11 (17:44):
After you kept him out of the end zone on
those first two drives, I mean, john talked about how.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Big that was.
Speaker 11 (17:50):
Did it feel like a turning point to you guys,
I mean Mozilla, all right, you know now we're hunting
on which play after you kept him out of the
end zone on the first two drives you held them
to fields.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 9 (18:02):
I think it's just more so about playing to your standard,
each and every individual, And I think there was a
lot of self inflicted things that we did amongst ourselves, Like, yeah, granted,
Ben Johnson is a very good coordinator and their first
field team was quite tough you know, but that's what
it's all about, like absolutely understanding what they're trying to
do and understand how they're trying to attack you and
then settling down. And obviously it would be crazy to
(18:23):
say with the offense those guys been scoring twenty plus
points every game that those guys are not going to
move the ball at all.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
That would be dumb to say.
Speaker 9 (18:29):
So it was just more so about bowing up and
forcing field goal and you would hope to block and
you know, we talk about that all the time, if
a team getting the red zone, not letting them score.
So it's something that we've been focusing on, and it's
just like a start to it.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
Bro during the week when you're playing, seeing Tyler Huntley
out there and playing, did you sense with how Sharpy
was that kind of he was going to be ready
to go on Sunday and play a really good football game.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Man.
Speaker 9 (18:56):
I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for Snoop
ever since I remember playing them in Chicago. I think
Lamar was sick or something back in twenty twenty. I
can't remember the year, but whenever that was, and like
going up against him, it was like, okay, Lamar is out,
you kind of get excited in a sense, like as
a competitor, you obviously want to play the best of
the best, but you know and you think like that,
and he obviously showed that he can win games in
(19:17):
this football league so ever since then, And I honestly
watched him at Utah too, like him and I think
mass at running back. So I've seen him play for
a while and got a tremendous amunt of respect for
that got away. He come into work each and every day,
head down, act as if he's the starter when he obviously,
when Lamar's here, he know he's not the starter. So
like just a lot of respect for him and the
(19:37):
way he go about his business. Never complain, just always
show up and do whatever is required of him.
Speaker 8 (19:42):
But I know you're trying to have a great game
every week. But I mean you were reflecting a little
bit on your time in Chicago earlier this week. I'm
sure there's sort of a time to think about you know,
it's been three years since you've been here. When you
get ready for a game like this, does is it
helpful to kind of let those thoughts that's kind of
in or do you have to kind of shut some
(20:03):
of those thoughts and reflections out to.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
Half of your best game.
Speaker 9 (20:06):
Honestly, man, maybe if it was like a couple of
months after I got traded, or maybe even a year.
But at the end of the day, I'm comfortable with
who I am as a person and who I am
as a player, and I like know what I bring
to the table. So it's just more so about me
echoing that each and every snap through my play and
not really worrying about the outside noise.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
What really matters is like.
Speaker 9 (20:24):
Me going to work each and every day preparing for
each and every team like it's my last game, because
it very well could be. And I just have that
approach throughout. And if you keep that approach as a player,
like good things is gonna happen and you just play relentless.
And that's what it was about. And it was just
really great though to see a lot of people over
in Chicago, a lot of faces who I've got that
I got to see, who I care about, and like,
this game is about relationships, so it was just awesome
(20:46):
to see those people after the game, have talks with
them pregame and things of doune nature because relationship will
go long after this ball stuff is over with.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
On you were this team was one and five and
the thought is if a two foss to one in six,
it's pretty much over.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Were you in the locker room?
Speaker 14 (21:03):
Was there any sense that this is absolute must win
game or is it just the same mentality as any
other week.
Speaker 9 (21:11):
I would say not a single individual that I heard
would say said anything about, oh, the season is over, this,
that and the third. And like myself, I consider myself
an internal optimism, So it's like, I'm always like, we
got a shot to do whatever we want. And I
know the type of guys that we have in the
locker room, so it's more so about going out and
doing that, not talking about it, but actually doing it.
And I think each and every guy was on the
same page the way we prepare over a couple of
(21:33):
days during the bye week, and then this week, man,
it's like new energy and like I feel like the
team got a fresh start and we're just going out
to show who we are.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
But it just started this week.
Speaker 9 (21:42):
We're wan to oh this week and then hey, we
gotta get to two and o this week cause it's
a short week and it's on to Miami or.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
Whin Ye two straight games that are really pressed by
the defense. Obviously, you know Zach Orr and his staff
kind of took its lumps early. But do you feel
like there has been an evolution between the players the
coaches and just kind of finding common ground and learning
what each person does best in certain spots.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (22:04):
I think that's always crucial finding out what each and
every guy do when there's live bullets flying out on
the field when it's actually for real as opposed to
when you're practicing and things like that.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
So it's just always about like.
Speaker 9 (22:16):
Revamping and proving and putting each and every guy in
the best situation to succeed. And I got a tremendous
amunt of respect for the whole entire defensive staff who
know what each and every god does best and putting
them in the best place.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
So that's what it's all about.
Speaker 9 (22:27):
But I feel like we're just getting started on who
we are, and we know who we are, but just
more so for the outside and we just got to
continue that weekend and week out, and it's just to
start and now we're on our way.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
So that's what it's all about.
Speaker 14 (22:39):
Football fans know that traditions matter. They're what inspire us

Tostitos tradition matters in.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
The locker room today, we heard from a number of
players include running back Derrick Henry Derek who worked?
Speaker 7 (23:03):
Were you guys offensive leak today?
Speaker 8 (23:04):
Obviously scoring is been rough or recently, but it wasn't
a problem.
Speaker 7 (23:08):
What do you guys do you know we were?
Speaker 16 (23:10):
We were executing we aver to getting drives, get some
players going, have some exposed to place m play makers
playing uh making plays. See did a great job finding
'em when we got down there. A couple of times
when we came up short, gotta turn those into touchdowns.
But overall, but like you know, we got a got
that momentum, got in the rhythm, was able to put
some points up.
Speaker 12 (23:29):
What do you feel like worries about Tyler hunting the
way he ran the office.
Speaker 16 (23:33):
Oh he did great. I mean I S we saw
it throughout the week. We knew we would have a
great game. Just about the preparation throughout the week, and
you know how he was operating throwing the ball. He
just looked good all week, So we knew coming in
the game.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
It's never good one hope you.
Speaker 10 (23:45):
Sa hips just to hit the player, just to get
back the places.
Speaker 16 (23:49):
So better than the loss to tell you that we
didn't have. But yeah, it's proud of everybody. Uh, all
the hard work. Like I said, in preparation this week,
it was just great to put all the work in.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Let the playoff with the bigger the.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
First touchdown, you know against the Bears, you have to
pass forward complete when you got a career touchdown one,
so it's the.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
Tip all pin it down.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
What what what does that?
Speaker 12 (24:09):
What does that mean for you getting moving up on
that list?
Speaker 4 (24:12):
M So I got s S said that interview earlier.
Speaker 16 (24:14):
I'm trying to be so appreciative, but uh, I all
can think about this. You know some of the runs
in the game that I like to have back, but
I'm always gonna uh give homage to pay homage to
the one that can't before me. Such a uh, such
a cool thing. I've been blessed with the teammates and
coach I had throughout the years to reset ob my olelestone.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
But still more to do and you know, looking forward
to being better.
Speaker 17 (24:34):
There makes no way how far Keaton Mitchell has come
since you know, the injury and then coming back and
kind of waiting his turn.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
How how much did it mean to you guys to
see him make some big plays there lait.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
In the fourth court. Oh yeah, it was.
Speaker 16 (24:46):
It was huge for us.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
Well wink call him wink.
Speaker 16 (24:50):
Uh with that speed, I'm sure everybody knows that, and
you know we you know you seen it out there.
So very proud of him getting the opportunities that he
had taken advantage of him and sure be plenty more
to do.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
They'll help with d out of the couch.
Speaker 8 (25:02):
Harbaugh uh said at the podium that he saw you
at the end of the game kind of not super elated,
uh with a win and the insinuating that you know,
there's probably uh more to look forward to take us
through the mindset there.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Uh at the end of the game.
Speaker 16 (25:19):
Uh, I'm just my worst critic for myself, very critical
of myself and U it's it's not anybody else, It's
just me, you know, battle myself from my thoughts. So
this is just mad at myself. But I'll get through
watching them. We'll pass it. You know, it'll be hard,
but you know, just to get ready for Miami. It's
gonna be a quick turnaround. So I like you on
(25:41):
that one's gotta flush this.
Speaker 8 (25:42):
One, especially you know with the turnover struggles in in
the last month or so, I mean, how's how nice
is it in what was mostly a close game for
most of it to see zero turnovers giving up this way?
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Did? Yeah?
Speaker 16 (25:54):
I think we always say we don't We take care
of the ball and keep the ball on the outside,
and we give ours something the best chance to twin
the game. And you know, like over the past couple
of weeks and something picked the wounds, and you know,
we wanna you know, those not to happen to so
we put ourselves position to win. And so everybody did
the great job doing.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
That today.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Except we heard from cornerback Nate Wiggins, who had a
key interception late in this game. What's the mood like
coming back in here obviously the first time you guys
have finally gotten out of here with the way.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
That the artist like it was.
Speaker 18 (26:27):
It was good man.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
I mean we not too happy, uh, but we happy.
We gotta go up.
Speaker 19 (26:31):
We know we gotta keep winning and keep going and
you know that head down man.
Speaker 14 (26:34):
You know Nate, Uh.
Speaker 8 (26:36):
During the by trumpet guns, you haven't been saying like
give me this receiver.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
I watched cover him?
Speaker 8 (26:41):
Was that something you did?
Speaker 18 (26:42):
I hear of this game as well.
Speaker 19 (26:43):
Yeah, man, I just uh, I feel like, uh, from
my last year, I I grew uh more mature and
I feel like, uh, I'm at when the top of
my game right now, So I feel like, uh, no
receiver can't can match up with me, and I feel
like I can guard them. So why not put me
on my phones to watch with super Punk? I was fun, man,
that that's my dollars.
Speaker 18 (27:01):
Just fun to watch my that go get it?
Speaker 4 (27:03):
And it was it was great.
Speaker 7 (27:04):
You feel like, really game a good going that year.
The first half and you if you wanna be you,
uh you set him up? You got to pick there.
Speaker 19 (27:11):
Oh yeah, uh first half I had uh they was
going at me. Uh, but we played cornerback saw me Uh,
I went out it down myself and play cornerback. He
gonna get paid too, he gonna lay his But long
as I come out of minds, is that good?
Speaker 1 (27:23):
So for your interception, there was a decision to punt
rather than you guys taking the field goal shows a
lot of trust in the defense. What do you feel
like that showed about you guys to really earned that
trust this point.
Speaker 19 (27:32):
But it feel great just running on the field knowing
uh our head coach trusting lest uh cause last week,
I mean you put up uh make performing this stuff
for me and it's just the feel great just going
out there and knowing our head coach.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Got trusting at them.
Speaker 19 (27:44):
That just made us mena wanna play harder, wanna go
out there and make me get to stop with them?
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Nay.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
What about the offense sustaining drives today which kind of
rested you guys and did that help it all?
Speaker 9 (27:54):
Uh?
Speaker 19 (27:54):
That's a uh big part in uh what we was
talking about to uh just getting the offense or getting
getting time position. I feel like we did that. It
was once offense came up the field, he was ready
to go.
Speaker 18 (28:06):
And you mentioned they're kind.
Speaker 8 (28:08):
Of picking on you in the first half.
Speaker 18 (28:09):
That's the thing. You're like, that's just gonna happen if
I'm asking.
Speaker 19 (28:12):
Oh yeah, I feel like I feel like if I'm
key for the time, I feel like they're gonna they're
gonna come at me, see what I'm about.
Speaker 18 (28:18):
So I'll take the talent.
Speaker 7 (28:20):
I ain't never bat down from no Chalnel.
Speaker 18 (28:21):
So yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
We also heard from running back Keaton Mitchell. He got
rolling in the offense a little bit, finished the day
with forty three yards on the ground and provided a
nice spark for this team to.
Speaker 17 (28:37):
Be used in kickoffs too, and and to use that
as it is another way to contribute.
Speaker 12 (28:41):
This is something that you feel like it's an underrated
part of the game.
Speaker 18 (28:46):
I mean, whatever they need me to do to help
the team out, I'm willing to do it.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
I'm gonna give them.
Speaker 15 (28:51):
All and.
Speaker 18 (28:53):
Hopefully I was able to help the team and that.
Speaker 10 (28:55):
Today, when you hit that corner and you show over
the spaces, you think you were taking it.
Speaker 18 (29:00):
Yeah, I thought, I repeat the same thing like nag
he got a good.
Speaker 7 (29:03):
Little angle, so you fail. I just got what I got.
Speaker 18 (29:05):
Yeah, did what I had to do.
Speaker 15 (29:08):
It's been difficult to to wait a while before getting
this Healthtaria.
Speaker 18 (29:12):
Uh yeah, it was hard, but you know, uh, God
taught me patience and I had to be patient. I
was patient and my number was called today and hey,
bless me get the.
Speaker 20 (29:26):
Edu race around it and winning that raceless sideline and
be able to turn it off.
Speaker 7 (29:29):
It's been to think of two years. Have really seen
that you're going through that moment? What does it feel like?
Speaker 4 (29:33):
I feel good?
Speaker 8 (29:34):
Uh?
Speaker 18 (29:34):
Yall seen it a little I was hyped afterwards, black
down a little bit, but uh, it felt good.
Speaker 12 (29:41):
Talker was Tyler today?
Speaker 18 (29:44):
Tyler hud Oh he was great. Y'all seen it. Y'all
watched the game. You know what I'm saying. Preparation. Uh,
he had a great week of practice and came out
here and did what he had to do.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Actually heard from center Tyler Linderbaum.
Speaker 21 (29:58):
Yeah, that's I mean, that's what it's all about. The
locker room, the feeling after a win. You know, obviously
we haven't had that in a few weeks. So it's
good to come back to the locker room celebrate with
everyone over win. But at the end of the day, we've
got a lot a lot of work to do build
off of it, and got a quick turnaround it, guess
a good team in Miami.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
So what a person you most about Tyler Huntley's ability
to step in a quarterback and leave the offensive way
he did today.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, I thought, I assumed did a tremendous job.
Speaker 21 (30:26):
At the end of the day, we got to have
his back and he has our back. So I thought
he stepped in, played really well, took command of the
offense and stop as a ball player. So we knew
what he was capable of and knew what he was
capable of doing. I have a hard back this week, Yes,
I mean, just a physical presidency brings. It's it's a
it's a game changer, obviously, you know, the more comfortable
(30:49):
he gets back into plane, and you know, obviously the
more we'll work him in.
Speaker 10 (30:53):
How would you kind of describe what you saw from
Tyler or he's leaving up to kick any of it.
Speaker 12 (30:58):
Just how sharp he was in practice first.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Yeah, just obviously getting the reps with each other.
Speaker 21 (31:05):
You know, we haven't had many reps, you know, with
the O line and everyone else.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
But I mean, good thing is I've I've played with
Snoop before.
Speaker 21 (31:12):
He's always a joy to be in the huddle with
you know, just has a big smile on his face
all the time cal And plays and you know, he's
a fun he's a fun quarterback to play for.
Speaker 9 (31:20):
How important was this win for?
Speaker 12 (31:22):
Just like the mental perspective.
Speaker 21 (31:24):
Shoot, I think one or two and five is better
than one and six. So but we just got to
keep keep digging, keep keep fighting. Like I said earlier,
we gotta we got a long ways to go, but
it's just to start.
Speaker 10 (31:38):
At this kind of you know, even if it's not
looking externalier talking about it, it's kind of a muscle.
Speaker 12 (31:44):
Win situation, like two points we haven't one at.
Speaker 10 (31:47):
Six kind of it that way.
Speaker 21 (31:50):
Yeah, I think, I mean every game is the most
winning at this point. It's mentality we gotta have. And
you know it's it's a tough league. There's good teams
in the league, and we gotta find way to win
football games.
Speaker 16 (32:04):
Uh.
Speaker 21 (32:05):
You know, I think the group that we have in here,
we don't flinch. We we know what we're capable capable
of doing. We know we're capable. Uh we're a capable
of football team. We're winning football team, and we just
got to go out there and prove it each and
every week. And glad we got the win today, but
we got a short turn around and we gotta we're
gonna go out there on Thursday and play our best.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Were there points of emphasis in the game plan today
that you guys feel like you did a pretty good
job of living up too.
Speaker 21 (32:33):
Yeah, I mean, I'll have to you know, I have
to see on the tape things we did well.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Things we did it. But you know, anytime you come
out with a win, it's it's a it's a big deal.
Speaker 8 (32:42):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Just mean, obviously it's the plan every game. But just
to stay at a third long obviously has absolutely.
Speaker 21 (32:47):
Yeah, be efficient on one. Just be efficient on your drives.
You know, obviously we started off with a three and out.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
That's not how you want to start.
Speaker 21 (32:53):
But be efficient on your drives, first and second down,
be efficient, limit the third downs to the third and short,
and at the end of the day, just just play football.
Play as hard as you can and as physical as
you can. Defense did a tremendous job today, and you know,
I thought offense for the most.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Part, was doing some good things with Wayne this week.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Could you get a sense that it's gonna get the type.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Of team that he was gonna do that w yeah.
Speaker 21 (33:20):
I mean, no matter who's in at quarterback, you know
we got we got we got trust in them. I
think we have three really talented quarterbacks. You know, they
all practice at an elite level. And you know that's
what you wanted. A quarterback that trust and and trust in.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Their capabilities of the job. They're going to get done.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Except we heard from tight ends Charlie Kohler who had
a touchdown in the win.
Speaker 13 (33:48):
Charlie a touchdown on National.
Speaker 18 (33:49):
Tight Ends to day.
Speaker 12 (33:50):
How about that we celebrate here, we celebrate. It's got
to get that. God, we needed to win. We were
joking about for the game that's must win or can't lose.
Speaker 17 (33:58):
Same thing. You gotta get a win. And what a
team game, defense, offense, special teams. You know, that's just
a good Ravens team win.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
At that point, What was the energy like in here
coming into this game and then finally coming off the.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Field with a win.
Speaker 12 (34:12):
I mean I think that, like, obviously it's hard when
you lose.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Obe was four in a row.
Speaker 17 (34:18):
Like you just keep saying the same thing, like we
keep I mean, like keep Cam back, keep getting better,
Like that's not one that you can do with the NFL,
Like so I think this team a lot of maturity.
Just keep focusing on us, keep fixing mistakes, keep catting better,
because like there's only two things you can do in
this business. You can quit or get better. And so
like that's I think a lot of a lot of
respect for the guys and the coach on this team
is just like that resiliency. You just keep their head down,
(34:39):
keep playing. You know, defense put a great game. People
went some bad spots in the first half of three
and nowly so they did a great job. Special team
made drought Jordan Thailand, ca Andre and then offense did
a great job online moved the bot.
Speaker 12 (34:50):
I mean, great team wins. Come give us, give us
off the sport. I'm snoop, Sorry I was the lend about.
Speaker 17 (35:00):
I'm like, I don't really know how the center grade
I was. I assume he did greaties beast, I mean
just just gratty. I mean the guy got here what
three weeks ago, four weeks ago? Comes in a lot
less play. You know, obviously you can see the line
scrimmagery with a lot of stuff. He's a great job orchestrating.
It uses legs when we needed to. It was efficient
with the passes, It was on target, took care of
(35:21):
the football, was explosive.
Speaker 12 (35:22):
I mean, I can't say enough good things about it.
Speaker 8 (35:24):
Charlie.
Speaker 20 (35:24):
For you were watching in the preseason and they're making
a ton of plays in the passing game, going for
the practices and then you know also into the preseason
games and then it hasn't happened in a regular season.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
What's it been like trying to wait your turn for that?
Speaker 12 (35:36):
Yeah, I made any plays in the preseason, but I
didn't want I think of the coolest Like practice was fine.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 17 (35:45):
I mean like we'd like we have so many weapons
in the team, so like you know, there's only one football,
and I take pride in my role of special teams.
To take pride in my role in the run game,
I think, I I mean, let me to bat myself
in the back too much, but I think I've up
a lot with that.
Speaker 12 (36:00):
It's just like just do what I can do control.
You know, if you continue to worry about things you
can't control, not.
Speaker 17 (36:07):
Only you're not gonna play good for be unhappy year
at bad teammate I a couple of years ago, I
was kind of being a little wiss and my tight
end couch in college. Mouse kind of written me is like, dude,
stop being a little can't curse, sorry, pom a vocabulary.
Speaker 12 (36:22):
Stop being a little baby. Go out there, play as
hard as you can.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
They have phone.
Speaker 7 (36:25):
It's kind of a I kind of play.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Next tapt we heard from veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins
Tyler Roll just.
Speaker 15 (36:34):
Kind of what you say about his performances leading me
off Forday, Oh the way Tyler prepare and nobody was
surprised that you pay am out here to do what
he did.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Add that Tyler's obviously someone will played a lot of ball.
Speaker 9 (36:45):
Just a crucial catch there, and or yeah, I saw
a little bit of like saying, darn, I was right open,
I can continue.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
Let's live there. How do you feel in that one?
I felt good.
Speaker 15 (36:55):
You know it's wanting to come come through. When the
ball came away, I know it was a crucial kitch.
A crucis situation where I need to make a catcher.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
And try to put the ball where it need to.
Speaker 20 (37:03):
Be the first target of the game for you. And
it's hard to wait like that, knowing and then to
be but then to keep yourself ready to go, like
when it's time.
Speaker 15 (37:13):
No, it's not hard to wait. I've been playing ball
a long time, and you know, obviously I get it.
My days of getting ten of the twenty targets game
is over. But you know, when it comes my way,
I think, you know, probably one of the more productive
players in the league and.
Speaker 20 (37:27):
Satisfying you get you get that one on one. I
think everyone knew as soon we saw the situation.
Speaker 4 (37:31):
Where the ball was gonna go. Uh yeah, I appreciate that,
you know.
Speaker 15 (37:35):
I think the DV did too. But you know that's
just you know, Tyler trusting me to go out and
make a play.
Speaker 8 (37:41):
What do you think worked for you guys?
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Offensive? Wait?
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Today?
Speaker 4 (37:43):
That just hasn't been there for the past couple of weeks.
You know, what's.
Speaker 15 (37:49):
Your question is what worked for us today?
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Yeah? Offensively kind of?
Speaker 15 (37:53):
So what worked for us today is when we came
out and played companment every football defense played good offense play.
Speaker 8 (37:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (38:00):
What is it about Tyler?
Speaker 17 (38:00):
It seems like there's not a ton of drop off
five football bast good for Tyer?
Speaker 12 (38:06):
What is it about him?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Uh?
Speaker 15 (38:08):
He's been here a while. I mean I'm not sure
how long he was here, but I obviously you know,
being in a room with someone like her. Now you
you watched them together with someone like Ormar, you learn
certain tendencies and you know he can make plays with
his legs and a lot of qbs in the league
can go out and uh make those kind of plays
that Tyler.
Speaker 13 (38:27):
Would market here about grazing the team for keeping safe
the past couple of groups and then just haven't gone
your way? How would you describe those last four losses
and put up to today's way?
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Yeah, I really don't describe losses.
Speaker 15 (38:39):
You know, I don't really get into, you know, describing losses,
you know, cause we turn the page as a player
til the next week. Uh, So you know we're looking
forward to you know, playing uh a Dolphins team that's
just came off a win, and that's you know where
this team head is next next game.
Speaker 13 (38:53):
So how does this want that you guys up for?
Speaker 15 (38:56):
Uh, Like, you know, we obviously played a couple of
every football company or and hopefully we can go out
and do that.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Thursday with thin Ja, we also heard from rookie outside
linebacker Mike Green, who had his first sack of his career.
Speaker 22 (39:12):
I know when you typically get one sack, just they
start to starts to fall off fall after that, and.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
Very grateful for it.
Speaker 22 (39:21):
It's it's something that I take a lot of pride
in and there's gonna be many more to come. But
I just got to continue to stack my days, continue
to improve as a pass rushing in a defensive end,
and I'm gonna let the outcome at the.
Speaker 20 (39:34):
End of the year not just to get a sack,
but to get in that moment you know, in the
red zone there a third down critical almost a game.
Speaker 7 (39:41):
I mean they always sport a touchdown. Ever knows how
the momentum goals to get at that time.
Speaker 22 (39:46):
Yeah, it's very special, very very special situationally of course,
But like you just mentioned, but like if you get
a sack on first down, like they still got two
more downs in order to get first down.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
So when you get a sack on on.
Speaker 22 (39:58):
Third down and and you're able to to get your
defense off the field, it means.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
A lot more.
Speaker 5 (40:04):
What did it feel What did it feel like to
see this defense kind of work in the way.
Speaker 15 (40:07):
That you pictured it in the past few weeks.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
I it was great.
Speaker 22 (40:11):
I I feel like today was was a stepping stone
of us being cohesive on one e on on one another,
and we we just all came together. We made plays,
we flew around, We did what we were supposed to
do on on each play. Of course there's gonna be
little little mistakes, but I think ultimately we we were
the better defense on that field. And uh we we're
we're gonna enjoy this win and uh we're we're gonna
(40:33):
get ready for next week as well.
Speaker 12 (40:34):
How can this win kind of kind of pulled you
to this short week and how do you look more
than that?
Speaker 22 (40:38):
Yeah, Uh, you gotta think about like football is a
momentum game. W once you once you get one win
or once you make one uh one play, more wins
and more plays come after that. It's just kind of
like a domino effect. And I I think it's just
we we just continue to make plays and we continue
to win. We're gonna continue to make plays and we'll
continue to.
Speaker 7 (40:55):
Win real points.
Speaker 9 (40:57):
Man.
Speaker 20 (40:57):
But me obviously out back from injury, we're this team
was and against his morever team. Would you see from
Roll this week and then today on.
Speaker 22 (41:04):
The field, Row is special. He's a very very very
special guy. He's a big part of our defense. It's
crazy because because Roe asked me every play is like
you're good. I'm like, yeah, I'm good. He understands that,
like I'm a rookie and you just want to make
sure everybody in the defenses is playing together and make
sure everybody's fine, because because he is the INTI linebacker,
(41:27):
he is the captain of the defense, and he's a
special guy and he's he's going to be a part
of a raging system.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
And lastly, we heard from fullback Patrick Card who made
his season debut after working his way back from a
calf injury that has kept him on the shelf up
until this point. He talked about the emotions of fraternity
to action and what this team can glean from Sunday's
win against Chicago.
Speaker 20 (41:54):
How are you feeling and just what we really needs
to have your twenty twenty five season.
Speaker 21 (41:57):
Thank you today with a win.
Speaker 23 (41:59):
I'm feeling good. You know, it took a long time
for me to get back and get healthy, but I'm
just excited to be finally back and it feels good
to get a win today, which through the.
Speaker 20 (42:07):
Last couple of months, it must I mean, you know,
we last saw you know, in training camp prags.
Speaker 7 (42:11):
Next thing, you know, you know, it's it's seven games,
so take us through just what what's this been like.
Speaker 23 (42:17):
It was just challenging. It's just challenging to not be
able to help my team, not be able to play.
And you know, I'm I'm I'm the type of guy
that if I'm healthy and I'm ready to go, I'll go.
But it was just it was just taking longer than
we all thought it would and I'm just happy to
be back now.
Speaker 10 (42:32):
Setbacks along the way, Like it felt like it was okay.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
It's almost there, and then I just set back. Yeah.
Speaker 23 (42:37):
So I initially heard it, and then a couple of
weeks into rehabbing trying to get ready for Week one,
I re injured it. And when that happened, it was
just it was just taking longer and it was just
kind of uncertain of when my CAF was gonna heal
and to keep progressing my rehab. So that's pretty much
what happened. It was unfortunate and it was really frustrating.
(42:58):
It was just one of those things where I couldn't
really pushed through it. I've had so many injuries in
my life from high school, college in the NFL, and
it was one of those ones where it was just
you know, if I tried to push through it when
it was healing, I maybe was going to reinjury it
again and then maybe my whole season was over. So
it was one of those things where it was just
really challenging. It was frustrating, but I had great support
(43:21):
with my teammates, my trainers, my coaches to give it
to this point and just happy to be back.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
Now.
Speaker 13 (43:26):
How did you know that you were going to get
to one hundred percent like that feeling of like, yeah.
Speaker 23 (43:30):
It's time to play, I'm ready, meeting with specialists, getting
them our eyes, just knowing that it was healed, and
just throw out my rehab. Just being able to keep regressing,
doing different things where it felt good, to where I
could start progressing my running. And that was the biggest thing,
was just getting to a spot where I knew it
was it was good to really start pushing it and
(43:51):
it was. That was the unfortunate thing. It just took
time because I reinjured it.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
How tough was it.
Speaker 20 (43:56):
When you're obviously trying to work your way back, but
then you see the team come and out, they're struggling,
they're having injuries, they're not able to run the ball,
just what's going through your mind as you're seeing all
the things.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
Yeah, it was. It was really tough.
Speaker 23 (44:08):
Like I said, like if it was an injury where
I could push through it and play, I would, But
to not be able to it was just gut wrenching
because you know, seeing how hard our team was playing
and just not getting the results and knowing I could
help this team.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
It was tough, But I'm just happy to be back.
Speaker 23 (44:24):
Now.
Speaker 11 (44:24):
Why did you feel like Tyler Honley was kind of
the right guy for today? I mean, we see the
way that everybody in here responds to him.
Speaker 23 (44:29):
I mean, last time he played the Bears, we got
a dub so and I'm really excited for him to
come out here today and did what he did to
get another one for us.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
What are the emotions just for you coming back today?
Speaker 4 (44:45):
It was it was a lot of emotions.
Speaker 23 (44:47):
There's just a lot of emotions of just telling myself,
like I'm ready, my cap is feeling good, and just
shout out, just let a rep and not worry about, you.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
Know, anything I was feeling.
Speaker 23 (44:58):
But yeah, there was there was a lot of emotions
for sure.
Speaker 6 (45:00):
What was the feeling there was a run to the right,
you met the linebacker.
Speaker 13 (45:03):
And that.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
Was worth everything right there.
Speaker 23 (45:08):
They're all my rehab and everything, and to finally play
and to get that hit and it felt really good.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
And then I had to let them know.
Speaker 5 (45:18):
What impressed, you know, with what Todd did today to
change your personnel doing everything to kind of keep this
offense on.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
The script after a couple of yeah, I think.
Speaker 23 (45:26):
I think he did a lot of great things with
different personnel groups to make us less predictable and and
put guys in the right positions. And then you know,
I think it showed with just how we're removing the ball,
getting first downs, getting points on most of our drives
at the end of them. You know, obviously we want
to have touchdowns to the end of every drive, but
getting points is is big. It's play for the offense
and are just morale of you know, moving the ball,
(45:47):
gating points. But yeah, I thought it was pretty good.
Speaker 11 (45:51):
Rope on the on the podium said, you know, this
kind of feels like a new beginning for you guys.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
Do you do you feel that absolutely?
Speaker 23 (45:57):
I mean, I think getting the bye week kind of
just a deep breath, looking where we are as a
team and just what we can do better. You know,
we're getting a lot more guys back healthy and playing.
It just feels like it's like a fresh new star
for us. So right now we're one to know I.
Speaker 9 (46:12):
Have to do this.
Speaker 5 (46:13):
Score thirty points with some red zone struggles without Lamar.
Speaker 4 (46:16):
What does it say about this offense?
Speaker 23 (46:18):
It just says that we just have a lot of
a lot of playmakers and a lot of guys and
you know, we're all excited for Lamar to come back.
But yeah, I think it just shows that we're an
offense I can play and produce, and you know, when
we got our quarterback and I think this guy's limit.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
