Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Pass Podcast. The Ravens fell
to the Kansas City Chiefs thirty seven to twenty on Sunday,
to follow one to three on the season. After the game,
we had a chance to hear from head coach John Harball.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Congrats to the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I thought they played really well, executed both sides of
the ball, played good physical football, and and won a
football game handily all three phases. I feel like they're
they coached better, they played better, everything was better. So
that's it.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
That's that's a game in the National Football League, and
we'll have to go back to work figure out how
to try to win our next football game. And you know,
we're we've got issues that we're dealing with and we
got to deal with them in a real smart way
and find out how to line up and play our
best game against the Texans.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
That's going to be our task this week, and I
know our.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Guys will go to work, I know our coaches will
go to work to do that and that'll be our challenge.
So any other questions or any other conversations about it
are just gonna be really are going to be just
that we've got to get to work and get ready
to play a football game and play well and try
to find a way to win a game and get
on track. I believe we're gonna be a good football team.
We're just not a good enough football team yet. And

(01:17):
all the things that go with that are the challenges
that you face in the National Football League when you
get circumstances that we've had. So that's what we'll go
to work on. What questions you have a game with any.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Seriousness of that, No, I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I don't have any really updates on seriousness of injuries
right now.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
There's nothing that looks like it's season any boy, any
stretch for anybody, any of those guys. But we'll have
to look at those injuries tomorrow and see where we're
at going forward. You're not going to make excuses, but
you down four starters to begin with on the defensive side,
lost three more, and just talk about the impact of
losing that many starters. Yeah, that's kind of what I'm
talking about with the challenges. I mean, those are the
challenges that you do face from time to time, and

(02:00):
you know, it's a it's a it's tough to it's
tough in a game like this against a really good
team on the road, but you know, you got to
try to find a way to win anyway. And we've
never made excuses for those kind of things. And the
guys who are up there are gonna play well, and
we've got to find ways to put our guys in
the best positions to to execute play after play and
and play a winning football game. You know, that'll be
our challenge come back in had it not been a

(02:23):
free score deposite, I won't.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Have the answer to that right now.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yeah, you play then that, John, I mean, can you
think of a time when you have been playing here
this adversely impacted by injuries in a single game.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Uh, you know, I haven't really thought about that. I
don't know the answer to that. I just know that
this is our circumstance right now. This is what we're
gonna have to deal with.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
I'd like I told the guys before and I told
the guys after the game.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
You know, I mean, I.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Respect our guys, I respect our players, I respect our coaches.
I know that we're going to go to work and uh,
and there's foot all to be played, you know, And
there there's a there's a division to be one, you know,
and we've got to find a way to become good
enough to win it.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
You know.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
So it's it's a long season and uh but short term,
it's it's a it's a challenge.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Right now.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Our focus is on the on the on the Houston
Texans game. That's what we've got to get locked in
for really and find a way to play the kind
of football game that we're gonna need to play to win.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
The first drive, you went right down the field, got
a lot of people in about what sort of change
for you guys.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Well, I mean, I think you take a drive by drive.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
The second drive we went down the field again and
we had a you know, interception, you know, uh fifty
four made a great play. I mean, it's a great
football play made. Uh, So that stopped that drive. Then
the next drive we came out. We had two good plays.
But you know, we get two delay games, you know,
and so we're trying to crowd noise, we're trying to
you know, signal some some things or change plays or

(03:48):
whatever we were trying to do, and we took the
delay of games unfortunately, you know, and it really weren't
circumstances where we wanted to take time outs there because
you know you're gonna need those timeouts. Thought we could
overcome them, you know, uh, and we allmo did, but
then we got another delay game. So that's that's really
out of character for us. I mean, I can't remember
the last time we've really had delay of game penalties.
That's never been something that's been an issue for us.

(04:09):
So that's surprising. But we've got to deal with it,
you know, we gotta handle it. The next drive, we
came out and we we we had a no game
play to start with. It's a quick outpass we don't complete.
It's a quick pass. You want to try to do
that against these guys they're playing split safety or they're
playing the zone, and you want to try to get
the ball out and it gets incomplete. Then you get

(04:29):
a screen batted. Now you're third and ten. It's hard
to run. It's hard to run third and ten. But
sure we'd have run the ball on that drive. We
could have got something going get the drive started, but
we couldn't get the drive started. The last two drives
are both two minute drives, and that's what happened. And
then now you're down. They go down and score. Now
you're down. And we still came out and tried to
run the ball in the third quarter and then then

(04:49):
it became a two minute game at that point.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Alluding to it right there, but Derek Henry, I think
only had four carries in the first half was more.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
That was it, And that's my answer. That's the answer.
That's the way the game went.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
You know, sometimes the game goes that way and you
don't have an opportunity like you want to. We're certainly
planning on running the ball and that was that was
a big part of the plan, but we didn't really
have the chances to get to it like we needed to.
We needed to get that third and fourth drive going,
you know, and we weren't able to do it.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
How significant was there didn't seem like they were having
a good amount.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Of six Well, I think the big the big the
big one was the uh the zero blitz where they
uh they got us for the big loss, you know,
in the first half there. That was the big one.
We tried to go to max protection. It just didn't
work out for us. It was just a bad play
for us. And that uh, that was a tough one.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
That was the worst one.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Any additional details on that seems the decision to put
Ano be.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
On IR and then the situation I cannot no, I cannot, John.

Speaker 7 (05:44):
Which.

Speaker 8 (05:46):
What do you feel needs to be with the focus
to get the events back from driving?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Well, Number one, we've got to become consistent stopping the
run up front, you know. That's that goes with the
front and the linebackers ed you guys TV showing up.
That's gotta be more consistent. Way too many times this game.
The Chiefs do what they do well. They get into
third and short you know. Our our goal was to
keep them in try to get them to third and
sixth plus, you know, and that just consistently did not happen.
That's the combination of the run game, a good quick

(06:14):
passing game, you know, the boots and the different things
they do, and the they out executed us for sure
in those areas. So we've got to we've got to
become much better there. That's just gotta start with that.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
The game strip get in the hand. But I think
three of the four early short yards third and fourth down,
you guys passed forward instead of running for it. You
think any of them was not just a situation where
he felt like they were leveraging certain spots.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah, I mean that's play calling.

Speaker 8 (06:41):
You know.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
I'm not gonna sit there and say I'm happy about
it at all. You know, I'm sure that the Todd's
not happy about it either. None of us are, you know.
So you gotta look at that and decide what you
want to run there, you know, in some of those
circumstances and situations.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
But you know, if they work, they look good.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
They threw the ball and fourth and short and third
and short a few times and complete them. So maybe
we just need better plays, you know, we plays that
are gonna gonna pop open. Maybe we've got to do
a better job of game plan in those plays. That's
what I would say. I mean, I think that we
need to put our guys in better position and give
them opportunities to make plays in those situations, because in
a game like this, you got to be aggresive've got
to go for stuff, and we.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Didn't get it done. He was one and three starting.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
I'm concerned, but I'm not I'm not overwhelmed by it.
You know, we've played the three losses are against probably
three of the top teams in the league for sure,
you know, and that's just the hand we've been dealt.
But it doesn't really matter. We've gotta we've got to
win the next game, and then once you win the
next game, then you have a chance to start stacking
some wins. And that's what we've got to do, big
picture wise, but small picture wise, we gotta do a
great job of putting together a great game plan and

(07:40):
a great practice and then a great game.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
All right.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Next we heard from safety Kyle.

Speaker 9 (07:50):
Hamilton apologize to fans. Just the product that we're putting
on the field right now is not up to par
with what the Ravens have been in the past and
have been the recent past. And I think we know
that we're trying our best to correct it. But obviously

(08:14):
something's wrong, so it's to all of us to try
to fix that. Also, I feel like earlier in the
week I used poor choice of words just saying that
Ravens fans were spoiled the track that I meant in
a sense that Raves fans have been accustomed to great defense.
Great teams. Haven't been a lot of teams in Ravens

(08:35):
history since ninety six to have underachieved to the point
where fans felt disappointed in the season as a whole.
And I feel like as of right now in Week four,
obviously long way to go in this season, but you know,
we're disappointed. I'm sure the fans are disappointed too. So

(08:56):
we gotta get it fixed. We gotta put a product,
and it's on the field that fans are proud to
say they root for, proud to say they spend money
on tickets to come to the games and all that
stuff and support us. On a brighter note, I want
to shout out to everybody who contributed today, specifically on
the defensive side.

Speaker 10 (09:15):
C J.

Speaker 9 (09:15):
Coya, I think it was his first game ever in NFL.
Did a great job. Josh Tupo just signed here this week,
was playing for US. Brent Urban got elevateds playing for US.
Mike Green's rookie out there playing who knows how many snaps.
Tavius Robinson's third year guy, but it seems like he's
been here for ten years. Jake Commel, Teddy Buchannan, TJ
Tampa Malakai key On Martin, undrafted guy makes the team.

(09:40):
He's out there playing three quarters the game against the
three time Super Bowl champion in the past hour of
the year. So shout out to those guys for what
they did today. The whole game obviously didn't go how
we wanted it to, but I think that's kind of
a silverer line to take from it. You know, it's
a top down in the organization. Guys just working hard.
So we gotta get a fix. We know that, do
it hopefully this week.

Speaker 8 (10:02):
But what about the impact of the injuries on.

Speaker 11 (10:07):
The defensive side.

Speaker 9 (10:09):
Yeah, I mean, obviously you're losing multiple all Pro guys
and that's not gonna help a defense. And but again,
I think guys came in had the right mindset. Uh,
if you're out there, you're supposed to be out there,
and you're in the NFL for a reason. So any
guys out there can make a play, could do their

(10:29):
jobs hot to the best of their abilities. Just play hard, man.
I mean, I think that's the price of injury, just
playing hard. We'll deal with the result later, but obviously
we want a better one. But if you can play hard,
then you can you can play for us.

Speaker 10 (10:43):
You know you've you've been here after a couple of
tough games and not just it feels like you're one
of the last few healthy guys leader on this team.
But I mean, how does he how do you kind
of scoop some optimism And obviously you talk of guys
who were playing for the first time the Sunday, but
how do you kind of scoop op them as a

(11:03):
win and it's not just the loss, but you know,
potentially you know some some guys who could be out
for weeks in the coming games.

Speaker 9 (11:11):
Yeah, I think it. I think it's a one week
We gotta assess where we're at this week. I don't
think we can assess like, hey, in three weeks, if
X player doesn't play, who's gonna play for these We
gotta focus on this week coming up. Everybody's saying, like
I've said it, even myself, like weeks sixteen seventeen, we're

(11:31):
not gonna be thinking about what we did week three,
but we are. We're gonna be thinking about what we
did these first four weeks because now it's making it
harder on ourselves. But I think if we shift our
focuses just focusing week to week, who's playing this week,
what's our getting planning this week? Don't look forward to
next week, whatever, it may be, I think it'll help
a lot. And to your point, with the injuries, like,

(11:52):
what's my job this week based on who's in who's out.
I think if we've shifted our philosophy a little bit,
not saying that we are doing completely wrong, but it
can be a better focus on being at your feet
are kind.

Speaker 10 (12:03):
Of a related question.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
I mean, I know you guys probably don't feel great
about a game where you guys give up thirty seven points,
But that being said, giving out who was in your
defensive front today, it seemed like you found some solutions
in the run defense. I mean, what has this last
week given you insight into how the coaches and the
leaders of this defense handle doing more with less as
you face potentially more injuries.

Speaker 9 (12:27):
Yeah, I forgot John Jenkins in that group, but he
played great for us today. But to your point, like
I think when you have a bunch of injuries to
star guys, everybody kind of drops their heads. Fans whoever,
reporters will be like damn, like we're gonna be screwed
at this position. Whatever it may be. But I think

(12:47):
those guys, credit to them. They they blocked out all
the noise. They just came in and played like they belong.
I thought they played a great game. I don't think
they were just running it down our throat the whole game. Obviously,
some broke runs, broke here and there. They had some
reverses and stuff like that, like heading yardage. But as
a whole defense, I don't think we're playing bad. I

(13:08):
know it's crazy to say that guys are wanting to
do it so bad. It's just a matter of fine
tuning little things. When you go against players like Josh Allen,
Jared Goff, like Patrick hillms like they're going to expose
the little things. So we have to focus on little
things a week to week, keep it smaller than we
keep it smaller rather than bigger, Like just focus on

(13:29):
like look down a straw. This is what we need
to do. Let's keep it in house, keep have each
other's backs, and I think will be much better for it.
But it's a lot of talk in Chicago.

Speaker 8 (13:39):
Do it.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
You say a week to week, think you got to focus?

Speaker 12 (13:44):
You ever.

Speaker 11 (13:49):
Be one in three ten stars?

Speaker 10 (13:53):
You ever think of the challenge?

Speaker 9 (13:58):
Yeah, I mean I'm thinking thinking about how can we
beat the Texans? As I said earlier, not trying to
literally your point. But I'm trying to focus on here now.
I can't focus on damn in week sixteen, if we're
twelve and I don't know, can't do them that four

(14:19):
be like damn, we would have been fifteen in one
if we didn't lose those like I can't. We can't
think like that. We have to think about the Texans
this week and focusing on getting that win. Get into
two and three. You can't get three and three without
getting two and three, and focus on them. Don't even
wanna worry about who we play for that, don't even
worry about when our body weak. Is just focused on
the Houston Texans coming to the Ravens and I was

(14:39):
beating them.

Speaker 12 (14:41):
Wow, answered a lot of injury questions. But even when
you lose Lamar, what's the impact of that and not
knowing the extended him injury.

Speaker 9 (14:50):
Yeah, I mean it's definitely a big impact. And I know,
uh Cooper is called on and I think he did
a good job honestly, But I mean, losing Lamar is
losing ingmar Is. It's gonna be tough for any team
Lamar Jackson to just start a quarterback. But I don't
think I don't know the severity of it. I'm not
gonna speak on that. It's not my place to speak

(15:11):
on it. But of course of the game, I think
it's like we had guys go down and the offensive
guys or defense guys just like next man up. I
think the offense did a good job of that and
went out got a few first downs. I think put
some points on the board too, So props a Coop
praying for Lamar. I don't know how serious it.

Speaker 13 (15:28):
Is, but.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Except we heard from running back Justice Hill.

Speaker 7 (15:44):
Justice.

Speaker 10 (15:45):
I mean, obviously, anytime Lamar has to go out of
a game, I'm sure it's tough, But did you see
him trying to battle through anything? And what was the for.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
A tone chains once you guys knew Lamar's gonna be
able to go back.

Speaker 14 (15:57):
Yeah, I didn't really actually see what happened or when
that happened. I just saw Coop warming up and going
out there. And I mean anybody on our team, anybody
on the offense, it's capable, more than capable of making plays.
And so when I saw Coop going up, I mean
nothing changed my mind. Just go out there and execute,
make place.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Just so you've been through, you've been here for a while,
You've been through a lot. Does this feel like the
team is really digging themselves a big hole here? Or
and then when you taking account I don't know the record,
but all the injuries and some of the struggles on
both sides of the ball.

Speaker 14 (16:27):
Uh, that's part of the game. I mean, not everything
gonna be sunshine and rainbows.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Uh.

Speaker 14 (16:31):
I mean last year we started off uh s slow
and we've made the playoffs and went deep. So uh,
I don't think it's rattling for anybody on our team.
We just know what we need to do going forward
to be in a place where we wanna be justice.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
You guys are rarely eaten by a margin this thorough.
Does it land in differently than with a three point loss?

Speaker 7 (16:51):
For you guys?

Speaker 14 (16:52):
Now, a loss is a loss, a win is a win,
and they all hurt the same, and they all the
wins are are fund regardless of a blowout or a
close one. So obviously there's lost stings and we just
gonna get back to the drawing board.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
WHI y'all get to there's a lot of the injuries.

Speaker 10 (17:06):
Do you almost kind of feel like cause it seems like.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
It's like like you know, question your mind likes just
you stink Baly is just un lucky.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Do your thoughts like that in your mind?

Speaker 14 (17:16):
No, No, that's just part of the game. Like we
play a violent game, and you know that's a part
of it. I mean, I've I've been here seven years
now and we've had a couple of seasons like that,
whereas one after another after another, and it just kind
of shows you your character, uh, and the culture of
our team is the depth that we have to anybody
can go out there and uh perform just as well.

(17:36):
So obviously it sucks praying for those guys. Hopefully they
they return quickly. But we just gonna continue to do
what we do, just as I mean, you know you've.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Mentioned you've had some seasons here where the injuries pile up.
I mean those haven't been you know, a lot often
playoff seasons, those haven't been.

Speaker 10 (17:51):
You know, work looking at the super.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Bowl seasons, does it feel like or is there something
you feel like the team can do to avoid that
trajectory some of these previous injuries.

Speaker 14 (18:01):
Uh, I mean, go out and win the next game.
The regardless of who's out there, we just gonna go
out there and win.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
The next game.

Speaker 12 (18:09):
Earlier. But the slow start last year did in making
the playoffs. Do you go back to that as a
team to know that you can possibly turn this around.

Speaker 14 (18:19):
I mean, we know who we have and where we are,
and one loss is not gonna change that.

Speaker 9 (18:25):
Uh.

Speaker 14 (18:25):
We just gonna continue to build on what we know
and execute when we need to execute. And I honestly,
that's all it really comes down to, is our execution
doesn't matter what play calls they call, Like, we just
gotta go out there and make them work. So, uh,
just go back into the drawing board.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Those first two drives, the beach half, I mean, the
the touchdown driving in the first, the the field goal drive,
and the third.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Outside of that, seemed like the offense had a lot
of tough luck today.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
What do you think is kept you guys from sustaining
drives the way we've seen the previous seasons.

Speaker 14 (19:00):
Uh, I mean they they're a great team. Like they're
a great team at the end of the day.

Speaker 7 (19:06):
Uh.

Speaker 14 (19:06):
Yes, you would like to go out and have ten
play drives and eighty yr drives every single time you
get the ball bus, and sometime you gotta respect the opponent.
They made some good plays and so uh, we're gonna
continue to continue to work like I've said before, and
uh and go out there and put up some more points.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Two more.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
You have a chance to talk to Momar either after
the injury and do or after the game and the
kind of hold, what's the mess forgetting to you guys?

Speaker 14 (19:29):
Yeah, I haven't got a chance to, but I'm pretty
sure it's the messages the same as everybody else. And like,
got a long season. It's a week four, we're in
week seventeen. Nobody's gonna remember week three and four. So uh,
we just gonna continue to work, stacks wins and keep
moving forward.

Speaker 12 (19:43):
What do you think it will take to execute the
way you want to? Cause that's been a theme in execution.

Speaker 14 (19:49):
What does it take? And it it takes eleven guys
be on the same page and every everybody doing their jobs,
regardless that's offense, defensive, special teams. Uh is a is
a team sport, so we need everybody to do their jobs,
do their individual parts to come together and win games.

Speaker 15 (20:06):
So that's all.

Speaker 14 (20:08):
It's gonna say, nothing not nothing out. They were ordinary, So.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
In the locker room, we heard from a number of guys,
including running back Derrick Henry.

Speaker 8 (20:25):
I would say, coming in, neither team wanted to follow
one and three. How disappointed is it that? You know,
you guys right now, aren't one in three?

Speaker 7 (20:32):
There a better There were a better team today. You
just gotta go back to the drawing board, make some mistakes,
watch the film, make corrections, and look forward to Houston.
But get him the credit.

Speaker 8 (20:45):
There.

Speaker 10 (20:45):
If there is a what would you kind of see Lamar?

Speaker 4 (20:47):
And was there any sign that he might get leave
in the game in the third quarter?

Speaker 8 (20:51):
Did you was there a way where he sawn?

Speaker 7 (20:52):
I can't speak for for Lamar, you know he uh he,
I don't know what. I don't know what happened. Hopefully
get him back, you know, I'm praying for him.

Speaker 6 (21:01):
There through yourself is a Is it difficult to uh
establish a momentum in the game when the carrying total
is what it was.

Speaker 7 (21:07):
I'm gonna try to take advantage of my opportunities. I
don't try to get too caught up in that just
makes something happen when I'm out there with the opportunities.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Like yet, how difficult it is it?

Speaker 5 (21:15):
Obviously when you don't have somewhere in the march stature
at or your your ability out there at it.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
Everybody gotta prepare like a starter. Cooper wore went in
there and and and did his job. And you know
some Mark can go. He can go cause not you know,
Cooper be up.

Speaker 8 (21:29):
How concern it is it both both sides of injury
or the ball. You have so many injuries. How concerned
he is that?

Speaker 7 (21:35):
I mean yeah, I mean you know, the injury bug
is real right now for us. You know, hopefully guys
can get healthy and and get back out there. Never
wanna see guys go down, but just see the other
the guy that got a step up.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
How big of a challenge is now being one in
three in addition to having older injuries.

Speaker 11 (21:53):
Bring it on.

Speaker 7 (21:55):
I look at it with a positive mindset. He running three.
We can ain't nobody gonna come out and do it
for us. We gotta go back to work.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Derek, has that happen On that note?

Speaker 10 (22:04):
I mean, you've been the workforce of the offenses before.
You know, depending on the.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
Severity of Lamar's intrigue, you feel positioned as you could
be like a big touch guy again.

Speaker 7 (22:14):
I'm gonna do whatever his ass, whatever can help us.
When I'm always done for What has.

Speaker 10 (22:19):
It happened to you guys to get back to being
effective in the areas.

Speaker 8 (22:22):
That you guys that have been strict.

Speaker 7 (22:24):
Just having a growth mindset. We wanna continue to get better,
fix the mistakes, correct those mistakes. Uh, just just be positive.
I mean it's it's easy to have the wide means
right now and finger point, but I don't think nobody
wants to do that. I think everybody just wants to
move past this one, right through Houston, come back to
work and get ready to go.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
All right, Thanks Derek.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
We also heard from defensive lineman John Jenkins defensive line.
What was the plan on the adjustments made for something.

Speaker 12 (23:00):
That's right good?

Speaker 11 (23:00):
I mean the plan was, uh, do our jobs and
win the game. So just like any other week, you know,
obviously the turnout was the turnout and we just gotta
get back to the drum board and figure it out.

Speaker 6 (23:11):
Johnath tough is it that likes It feels like every
drive you guys, you know, lost the player lost a
starter throughout that game.

Speaker 11 (23:18):
Man, it's football, bro, it's football. I've been around over
a decade. I've seen it, you know, for my rookie,
my rookie year using losing Jonathan Villema you know, and
Victor Butler and those guys to losing Rokuan and the
guys we lost the night. So it happens, you know,
and we just gotta make sure that the guys who
are next up is prepared.

Speaker 8 (23:37):
Try you've uh you still met that you've been around
for one you know, it's early in the season. You
know this team has a lot of time. What do
you sense the team is around is right now?

Speaker 11 (23:45):
Man?

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I love the team.

Speaker 15 (23:46):
Man.

Speaker 11 (23:47):
Everybody come in the weekend and we got them tryna
get trying to be better, man, And that's all you
can ask for. You know, a guy that's been around
for so long, you wanna make sure that you're when
you're putting the work in and you're seeing the guy's
doing it man longest. Uh, it just tough and because
a lot of these guys are figuring it out along
the way. So you just wanna see the best you
know them guys uh rick the the rewards.

Speaker 15 (24:08):
You know.

Speaker 11 (24:08):
So it's just tough, man, and we just gotta keep
moving and keep working.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (24:12):
So many of the leaders and starters went down. I
guess we were some regards that you saw stepping around
training humor.

Speaker 11 (24:17):
All up, Ah, man, everybody, man, Big CJ. You know,
shout out the Big CJ. You know, Uh, he was,
you know, doing this thing. Key was doing this thing.
You know, the linebacker, corps man. Everybody was trying to
do their job. Brou It's just tough cause you know,
you gotta understand the people we've been playing or are
high caliber teams. You know, this is the NFL, and
you know, any given a Sunday.

Speaker 8 (24:38):
Uh, never know what your role's gonna be for me
of the year. But obviously it's like now your role
would be quite big.

Speaker 13 (24:43):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (24:43):
How do you feel about that? Now, do you? Uh?
I guess go about responding to that.

Speaker 11 (24:47):
Man, I'm just gonna you know, keep putting in the work.
You know, the best way to earn the respect of
the locker room is as long as they see you
putting in the work and not taking anything for granted.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
You know.

Speaker 11 (24:57):
Uh, That's how I was brought into the league. You know,
I saw the ill would she's put in work. Yeah,
and you know, I just follow what they were doing
and hopefully I can uh contribute the same thing, me
putting in the work, and hopefully I do it enough
for the young guys to respect me enough to you know,
see me as a person to follow.

Speaker 13 (25:12):
Johnson's one different guys in the defense and mention needing
to do their job and need to do one eleven.

Speaker 16 (25:17):
If everyone's aware of that, why do you.

Speaker 13 (25:19):
Think it's not for good?

Speaker 11 (25:20):
It's tough, man. I you know, we playing chests in
our checkers. You know, a lot of the guys are
are still figuring out. We're young, you know, and and
there's a lot of responsibility for for a young guy
for a high caliber team organization. As a high caliber organization,
you know, they know all they know is winning. So
it is it's a standard that was made and then
these guys are trying to fulfill the standards and they're
putting in the work. I commend 'em, you know, I

(25:42):
commend them. These guys are really putting in the work.
And it just sucks that we uh, you know, we
just took this loss a night. But you know, at
the same time, Kansas City Chief, they you know, they're
a good team. Just any given Sunday.

Speaker 6 (25:53):
John on one and three start a lot more critical
outsiders or you know, specifically to John Harbo and zech
or what would you say, like internment in in the
locker room, how you your affect them or or feel
about those messagers.

Speaker 11 (26:05):
Man, we gonna work, you know, We're gonna work.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Man.

Speaker 11 (26:08):
Those are great leaders, you know, and if we're gonna
do what we can, you know, fulfill our jobs. And
and and they just gonna keep leading the way, and
we're gonna keep follow 'em. And we just gonna keep working,
putting our head down, the hard hat on, and whatever
they need us to do.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
We're gonna keep trying, trying to chop.

Speaker 11 (26:21):
A to do what we need to do to you know,
to fulfill the jobs that they require.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Us to do.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
We also heard from center Tyler linderback.

Speaker 10 (26:35):
What it comes down to, got gotta be better. They
beat us today and got to move on.

Speaker 13 (26:39):
Can't remember a lot of significant losses on defense? What
was the offensive highest you knowing that they were bouncing
new players.

Speaker 10 (26:47):
It's I mean offense workil off, focus on offense, defense,
focused on defense. At the end of day, we gotta
try to score more points on the opposing team, uh,
which we didn't do.

Speaker 13 (26:56):
Yeah, okay, just emotionally and mentally, what is it like
the playing the game where so many of your starters
go down all about what?

Speaker 10 (27:05):
Yeah, I mean, obviously, injuries are never fun, but it's
a part of the game. And next man, I mentality,
you gotta be a leader at all three phases, no
matter who's in the game. Uh I, it doesn't really
matter who's playing. We all gotta have the ex expectation
to play at a high level.

Speaker 13 (27:19):
Was astant reaction was were they doing anything that surprised you?
Or was it bronger and that they didn't click?

Speaker 10 (27:25):
No, yeah, it's it's it's totally on us and on
them for playing better than us today.

Speaker 13 (27:30):
So you guys lost Prodie Stanley at one boy, how
did you feel about?

Speaker 15 (27:34):
How do you no movem in?

Speaker 14 (27:36):
And how he did?

Speaker 10 (27:37):
Yeah, proud of Drove for stepping up. It's not an
easy position to step into. No, he he prepared all
week like he was gonna be the starter and and
he and he got the playing time. So proud of
him to step in and and play a big role
on our team.

Speaker 13 (27:52):
More is you think socks a few times sitting teach
game lately? How are you guys taging this thing?

Speaker 8 (27:58):
What's happening when the protection?

Speaker 10 (27:59):
Yeah, I mean obviously, no, the ideal is zero sacks
a game. Gotta continue to work and strive to to
get to that goal.

Speaker 12 (28:10):
One in threes on where you guys want to be.

Speaker 10 (28:12):
Take gott beat, got beat today, Gotta beating all three
phases and gotta move on to a good Texans team.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Next up is defensive back Kean Martin.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
Can adversity like I guess, like on the sideline, you know,
more kind of house on you guys just trying to
stay focused in nor the game especially liked.

Speaker 16 (28:44):
Oh, I mean every team go through adversity.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Uh.

Speaker 16 (28:50):
I mean, we ain't really been playing our best football,
so I mean, but there's no pointing fingers and stuff.
It's just, you know, we come home sideline, we get
close up, we fix for we did last drive, and
then shoot our mindsetts on to the next drive.

Speaker 8 (29:05):
I know it's earlier in the season, but how important
do you think it is to try and get back
on the right track start next week?

Speaker 16 (29:11):
Uh? I think it's important every week to get I mean,
we wanna win every game. It's not at a certain
point in the season where we wanna get back and
uh uh get back winning.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
We wanna win every game.

Speaker 16 (29:23):
So that's the mindset. So now we're on to next
week and uh tryna win that game.

Speaker 13 (29:28):
Just from what you've learned from host games and the
media feeling after this games. That's if you like there's
a comminality on what's going on with games a game
or was it to.

Speaker 14 (29:37):
Pick to last drive?

Speaker 16 (29:39):
I mean, I don't think it's gonna it's just the team.
We just uh not playing our best football. I wouldn't
say it's nah, it's just us as a team. We'll
fix it. I'm not really worried, honestly, we'll fix it.

Speaker 13 (29:53):
Well, do you take away for the messag just after
the game? No?

Speaker 8 (29:57):
On to next week?

Speaker 16 (29:59):
Yeah, on the next week.

Speaker 15 (30:00):
So thank you.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Next to this outside linebacker Tavius Robinson.

Speaker 13 (30:13):
As the game progresses, more players, what is that.

Speaker 15 (30:16):
Like eventually kind of emotional like, Yeah, of course it
sucks to see you know, your guys go down, but
at the end of the day, you know you always
got to step up and try to, you know, fill
that void when we of these guys.

Speaker 13 (30:29):
So I know all of you guys have been very
adamant that it's not play calling and not the game planning.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
What do you think there's the problems that.

Speaker 15 (30:38):
Are I think again, and I'm talking about it during
the week. It's just about doing you're one of eleven,
being where you're supposed to be and playing you know,
as a as a as a whole defense because when
we do, I want to be level and good.

Speaker 7 (30:52):
So it takes it take not panax your help, but
just thick like that.

Speaker 16 (30:56):
You know, it's like to start.

Speaker 15 (30:58):
Yeah, I think there's still a lot of football that
we play it. So you know, you got two hours
we can sit here and drown in the water where
we can can pick ourselves up, and uh, still a
lot of season left. So that's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 13 (31:08):
What you say to your one eleven, all of you
guys have said that, I guess why it's not click.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Let's say, I don't know.

Speaker 15 (31:16):
I don't know if it's just like be detail oriented
or but that that's important if you have to know
exactly where you gotta be, well that's yeah.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Taf your self too, is there?

Speaker 6 (31:28):
I guess like when all that adversity goes on throughout
the game and just like what's.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
The message in the huddle?

Speaker 15 (31:32):
Ways it's tough, but I think you know, at the
end of the day, we still are gonna go out
on our shield and so it obviously sucks and you
guys go down, but again people gotta step up, and uh,
we just gotta play better as well.

Speaker 13 (31:42):
I'm gonna put a lot of reviews out there, and
he's probably one more experienced players. I guess did you
feel that? Do you feel like you've tried to compensate
for how many losses?

Speaker 15 (31:51):
You? Guys know, I wouldn't say compensate because at the
end of the day, if you try to do too
much again, it.

Speaker 7 (31:56):
Okay, you can't do someone else's job.

Speaker 15 (31:58):
So I think it's just the boat again, guys stepping
up and I'll play better as a whole.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
